Resistance Base, 4F Command Room

With preparation for the new mission righteous strike on its way, many soldiers come and go to the command room, none bothering to take a look at who entered unless it is the reploid they are looking for.

*pshhsssss*

That however changes when a red reploid enters. Almost everyone pauses and looks at the two individuals who walked in.

"It's nice that you finally decided to grace our presence, Mr. Legend."

And among the reploids, the current commander, Elpizo, was the one to speak the first word.

"..." Zero looks at the reploid walking to him. Cross-referencing it to the reploids he met a year ago and came up blank. "And you are?"

"Ahahaha! Forgive my manners," the reploid replied in a slightly condescending manner. "I am Elpizo, the current leader of the resistance." Using his left hand, he fixes his hair first before extending it to him. "Let's do our best to crush Neo Arcadia."

"..." Zero looked at the hand extended to him before looking the reploid straight in the eye. "It's not as easy as you think."

"Oya? Then what do you think we should do?" He asked in an exaggerated tone loud enough for others to hear. "Then please tell us, Mr. Legend, what do we need to end all of this?"

Zero pauses a bit and recalls his previous experience after separating with Ciel and the resistance soldiers and came blank. "... I don't know."HHe answered honesty.

"Ahahahaha! You, Mr. Legend can't think of a way to end this?" Elpizo laughs hysterically. "You are a funny one-"

"Fufufufu,"

Elpizo had yet to finish his statement when he was interrupted by the reploid standing beside Zero. A soft giggle full of amusement.

"... See even your companion is laughing at your answer?" Elpizo widens the smile on his face and looks at the female reploid beside the renown Reploid Zero. "I believe you're called Iris, right?"

"Oh, please ignore my sudden outburst," Iris responded emotionlessly as she made a 45-degree bow. "This whole thing just reminded me of the past."

"Oh? And what would that be?" Elpizo asked curiously.

"I just recalled when the Repliforce rebelled against humanity, but it's not an important issue right now. This conversation just made me realize one thing." Iris replied. "History does not repeat itself, but it certainly does rhyme. Don't you think so, Mr. Resistance Leader?"

"..." Elpizo's glee quickly sours as he drops his hand and clenches it into a fist before glaring at the relic of the past that insinuates that what they are doing, the resistance that he is leading will have the same fate as the repliforce.

"Haaaaaaah...I guess that's that," Iris sighed. Taking one step ahead of Zero. "Zero, let's not make Cerveau and Ciel wait for us any longer." Before walking past the resistance commander who froze on the spot.

"Just wait a-" With how he is being ignored as if he seems like an insignificant being, anger quickly rose to the new commander as he quickly tried to grab her arm, Her injured arm that is.

*pak*

Only to be slapped away by Zero himself, a warning followed.

"Don't even try,"

All activity freezes that instant. Two reploids tried drawing their gun only to be stop by older reploids that fought with Zero.

"Very well," Elpizo replied while trying to hold his anger. "I still have some duties to carry over. I hope we can continue this later."

As he left them, he took a small handkerchief and wiped the hands Zero slapped before letting it drop on the floor.

Resistance base, 4F RD Hallway

"Did you need to do that?"

After exiting the command center, in the hallway of the resistance base RD department, Zero stopped on his track and asked the reploid that was two steps ahead of him.

"You do know he is belittling you," Iris replied before turning around to see the scowl on Zero's face.

"It doesn't matter,"

"Haaaaaah... to you at least" Iris sighed and shook her head. She then has her uninjured hand on her waist "Remember what I said. I am your ally. So it's natural for me to try and defend you at least."

"In that case, don't do that for me next time,"

"Very well," Iris replied with a meaningful smile. "But it will cost you."

"State your price," Zero asked. Even now, the true motive of the reploid is still unknown. So he uses the deal to get a better understanding of the white-haired reploid. If what she asks is tolerable, he can just tolerate it but if the answer is absurd, he'll leave the resistance base and took her with him.

"He will rope you in his operations," Iris said confidently. "If I am not made as your operator, don't agree to help him."

"That's it?"

"Yes," Iris replied. "Right now, monitoring your progress is one of my main objectives. "

"Will he even agree to that with how you treated him?"

"He is belittling you but he knows a useful pawn when he sees one."

"Like you?" Zero asked with a raised eyebrow.

The deadpan facial features of the white-haired replied scowls as two eyebrows knotted in irritation "I'm hurt you see me like that," Iris replied in a monotonous tone. "On my board, you are no pawn," she stretched to him her uninjured arm with her hands wide open. "On my board, You are my king," slowly walked to him until her open palm rested on his chest. "Every aspect of my goals rides in your survival," using the index finger and thumb, she placed them to his chin and adjusted his head so her eyes met his. "That is why being your operator is a necessity. At the very least I am better than him in that aspect, right?" and flashes a genuine smile void of deception.

"... you're not even trying hard to hide your intention to use me," Zero nudges his head to shake off her fingers before walking past her. "I'll have to warn you though," he stops and looks back at her. "I will dispose of you if you become a threat to them."

"Do that after learning of my true name," to answer his warning, Iris replied with a confident smile. "You're memories might forget her but I doubt your heart will be able to handle the burden of Killing Iris twice."

Zero's eyes open wide in shock with his mouth partially open.

"Haaaaaaaah... I shouldn't have said that..." Iris mumbled regretfully. For one, she wanted to drag the possibility of her being the real Iris before dropping the truth when the time is ripe. Yet her mild annoyance made her slip. "let's reserve this quarrel for a later date," Seeing the unresponsive Zero, Iris shook her head and sighed before she walked behind him and wrapped her arm around his neck. "I'm tired. Carry me,"

Zero returned to his senses and quickly shook off the arm wrapped around his neck. "... You have legs," before looking at the binder-like wings protruding on her back "If those on your back are not just for show, you can just hover."

"Fufufufu you and Harpuia will go along just- oi wait for me!" Iris cut off her remark as the brooding red reploid decided to ignore her altogether as he walked towards Cerveau's lab.

Resistance Base, 4F Cerveau's lab

Their first stop after the infirmary was Cerveau's Lab. Zero's purpose is to retrieve his new set of armaments..

"Oh, glad to see that you patch things out," seeing the two reploid enter his lab, Cerveau sighed in relief. For now, he can ease up on his suspicion with the reploid named Iris.

"..." Zero did not respond with a nod but rather he deliberately avoided his gaze by turning his head to the reploid standing beside him.

"... In a way," Iris hid her injured arm to her back as she ignored Zero directly looking at her. "After all, he may have lost his old memories but he is still the same crude tsundere I know.

"Tsunde-what?," Cerveau asked nervously while the white-haired reploid chuckled at his inquiry. "Ahem! Anyhow," turning around, he took two weapons on a nearby table and handed both of them to Zero. "Here are your weapons back,"

Zero examined the two weapons and noticed that while the shield boomerang was the same, the same could not be said for the triple rod

"... This one is different from before," He grabbed the new rod that seemed to be made up of smaller segments and showed it to his creator.

"To be honest, the rod is beyond repair so I decided to upgrade it a bit." Cerveau took his small terminal and projected the chain rod's image. "Using the concept of the tri-section rod from before and how it broke, I decided to make them more flexible by making it a connection of smaller parts hold together using the same principle on the triple rod."

"I see..." Once more Zero analyses the new weapon. There's a small button at the hilt that when pushed will change the rod from its rod forms to chain forms and. vice versa. "This seems to have more application than the previous version." Zero began experimenting on the rod. First, he tried launching the rod on the ceiling to see if it could fully support his weight followed by swinging the rod to a box crate before trying to pull the crate towards him.

*swish*

*swish*

*swish*

Zero applied energy to the chain form and noticed that it could also be used as a whip.

"Hah!"

As a finisher, Zero charged the chain rod and pushed the button to turn it to its rod form before swinging it similar to how he swung the charge form of the triple rod.

"It will take time to get used to this but this upgrade will come in handy."

"Speaking of an upgrade," Cerveau adjusted his visor and his lips curled to a smile. "While we were fixing you, we,' He slightly adjusted his head and turned towards Iris "also did some modifications to your body to return you to your prime."

Zero raised an eyebrow before turning to his white-haired companion.

"Is it alright if I say something before you continue?" Iris asked more to Zero than to Cerveau who did the modification.

"Do what you will,"

With a faint smile, she clung her injured arm to his. "I don't know what happened before they found you but there's some inconsistency to your overall specs compared to how you operate a few centuries ago," Iris said. "It seems like some of your potentials were switched off or downgraded before you went to hibernation," and from the gem on her injured arm, a small projected screen appeared and she showed him a recorded footage of the old Zero in her archives. Design-wise, from the helmet up to his body is vastly different from his current one. the two orbs on his chest are no longer there, the helmets are also different as well as how his golden hair sticks out from his helmet. On a different side note, his arms and legs do resemble the white-haired reploid's arms and legs. In a way, this does show that she came from a different era than him. "Feel nostalgic?"

"..." Zero focused on the image shown to him followed by a shake of his head.

From the video he has seen, he can utilize a move set based on enemies he encounters. Something he was not capable of doing a year prior. Not only that but the capacity to do double jump and even dash on air was something he never knew he could do. "So it means I am capable of doing all of that now?"

"Somewhat," Iris replied with a nod. "the upgrades however are not yet finished. While we managed to unlock your EX-Skill capabilities, that is your ability to learn a move from your enemy, we lacked the chips and other parts needed to complete your upgrade for the double jump and Air Dash."

"Sorry, but some of the materials we need are not included in the supplies we got," Cerveau apologized and Zero shook his head in response.

"It doesn't matter. " Zero shakes of Iris's arm off him. "As long as I can fight, that should be enough. But is that all?"

"Not exactly," Cerveau replied. "We are also able to make some altercation on how you distribute energy in your body."

"Haaaaaah... while I want to call it phase shift he settles for a simpler name. Form System," Iris grumbles in a low tone. And even though Zero ignores her minor rant, this however makes Cerveau chuckle nervously

"Form System?"

"Yes, think of it as redistributing points on your stat." Cerveau handed him his clipboard to show the various forms Zero could achieve.

"You have seven possible forms to access with each form changing the standard color of your armor."

Iris swipes the projected screen and Zero's distribution specs pop up. On closer inspection, they prepared a total of seven forms. Eight if it includes his current one dubbed as the base form.

"Hmmm..." Zero scowls as he returns the clipboard to Cerveau. "Are the other forms locked until I manage to get all the needed upgrade parts?"

"Unfortunately so."

"I'll keep that in mind then," with a nod, the red reploid looks at his accomplice who stares back at him with a puzzled look. "I'm going to Ciel's lab. Get your arm fixed while I'm gone," his tone pretty much tells her that he will meet with Ciel alone. Then, his eyes ventured to her injured arm before the maintenance bed behind Cerveau.

"Very well," With a sign, Iris detach herself from the brooding reploid. "It'll be rude to act as a third wheel for your long-awaited reunion after all."

"..." Zero gave the scientist one last look as if telling him he was leaving the white-haired reploid in his care before quietly leaving the room."

Resistance base, 4F Ciel's Lab.

Zero left Iris in Cerveau's care while having a long chat with Ciel. If one can call what they did as a chat since Ciel did more of the talking than Zero.

For the red reploid, he casually listens to her stories. From the time they split up, they built a new resistance base and her new research project that might solve the energy crisis and end their feud with Neo Arcadia.

Seeing her hopeful demeanor, he leans on the wall of her lab, his eyes focused on her as she continues talking about her discovery, he smiles ever so faintly that even the red antique doubts she'll notice. Not that he cared if she noticed. To the red reploid made for battle, knowing that returning was not a mistake was all that mattered. And he will protect her vision from all enemies. Even if it includes reploids from his past.

"Oh my!" realizing how much time had passed, Ciel clapped her hand once, a means for her to stop herself. "Everyone from the old resistance base is eager to meet you." with their conversation practically over, She turned back to her research and began typing slowly. "Why not take Ms. Iris along as well?"

"..."

"Is there an issue, Zero?" Ciel asked curiously.

"I honestly don't know," Zero replied while staring at the ceiling of the lab. Since waking up, Zero met plenty of reploids who know more of him than he knows of himself. But those individuals mostly knew him from a third-person source. From the records of his previous actions that are now deemed as legendary in this period. From Ciel, the resistance soldiers a year back, the guardians, and even the current resistance commander. Outside of X, none knew him on a personal level until she appeared before him."... let's just say I am still wary of her." he quickly added after seeing her concerned look. "The feeling I got from her is not similar to my encounter with X or even that copy of him."

"What do you mean exactly?"

"When I fought the copy a year back, I already felt that he was not X," Zero answered. "Even without my memory, I can tell I know X enough to tell the copy does not have any of his characteristics." Crossing his arms, he closed his eyes and recalled everything about the white-haired reploid. Leaving aside the fake name and the real Iris dying by his hands, he opens his eyes once more and faces Ciel. "Iri... err, she's different. She feels like a total stranger yet I see a version of myself in her. She's unknown but I should have known her."

"I see..." Ciel whispers to herself as she relaxes in her chair.

Eh...? she pauses and looks blankly at the red reploid. Why did I feel relieved to know that's how he sees her?

*shakes*

Shaking her head twice, she stood out of her chair and approached Zero. Took both his hands and raised them above his chest. "If you saw a piece of you in her, then I think she's trustworthy."

"You... trust her?"

"No." Ciel shakes her head once. "I trust you. Knowing you see yourself in her made me believe she is trustworthy." She looks at him straight in the eye and with a smile. "The Zero that I know is a good individual. You may be seen as grumpy and cold but the Zero I know is brave, kind, selfless, and most of all honest." Zero for his part raises an eyebrow on the last part. Knowing that the white-haired reploid is not exactly who she claims to be.

Resistance base, 4F Command Room.

Following Ciel's suggestion, Zero met with the old resistance soldiers and introduced Iris to them. While the conversation with Andrew was as long as expected, the rest were short and cordial outside of Rocinolle due to what she saw earlier and Hirondelle where the conversation turned more to an interrogation from Iris asking various things and even asking him if he can look for certain information for her.

and by the time they finish meeting with all the reploids of the resistance base, on their way back to Ciel's lab,

Once more, Elpizo tried getting Zero to participate in their mission but there was an obstacle to that. Her name is Iris. To have Zero help them, Iris must be placed as his operator. That was the counteroffer Zero gave.

"Do you think we are foolish enough to let a relic past her tenure to operate the trans server?" Elpizo asked in a condescending tone. The operator's job is very crucial in their operation and letting a newcomer manage their ace in the hole is unacceptable.

Iris looked at Elpizo's smug face before playing an earlier conversation they just had.

"...Needless to say, we still appreciate your cooperation. Umm, will you help?"

Rather than answering back on her own, Iris played Elpizo's offer to Zero. And to say he is furious is beyond an understatement.

"Haaaaaah... just so you know, Zero is way older than me," Iris replied devoid of any interest. "So... what were you saying again?"

"Why you-" Elpizo angrily rose from his chair only to freeze when Zero stepped in front of Iris.

"We outstay our welcome," Zero glanced at Iris. While not saying a word, his stare is pretty much asking what is she doing. "We're leaving."

"Hoh~ so you decide to run away?"

Zero looks up at the smug face of the blonde commander. "... You are the one who rejected the offer," Zero replied calmly. "We have nothing more to discuss. Iri... let's go."

*pshhsssss*

"Please Wait!"

Just as the pair began walking towards the exit of the command room, the door going to the R&D hall opened and an exhausted Ciel hurriedly entered.

"Uhm, commander, I think it's better to at least give her a chance," Ciel added. "While the GUI change compared to their time, the technology for transfer remains the same."

Older resistance soldiers slowly whisper to one another, something Elpizo did not miss.

"Hmph! I'll give her one chance. In ten minutes we will need support for the supply mission. that should be enough for her. Or can't you" he added followed by a flick to his hair.

"I'm not stupid enough to mess up such a menial task like a simple transfer coordinate," Iris replied calmly. "Making an error that would land the target inside a wall or above a pit are mistake only for beginners.

*click click click*

while trying to mind her own business, a yellowed-haired operator pauses. She quickly snapped her head to the other operator with red hair and gave her an accusatory glare which the red-haired operator sighed followed by a simple shake of her head.

"We'll see about that," Elpizo stood up and stormed out of the command room. with him came two resistance soldiers on both sides.

Arriving just in time, Ciel requests the current leader to reconsider. In a way, her influence as the former leader of the resistance and the impact of Zero's combat prowess was enough to persuade Elpizo to let Iris join them.

"Thank you for your assistance, Dr. Ciel," Iris walked past Zero and personally bowed to Ciel before waving at Alloette peaking at the entrance of the R&D Hall. It was thanks to her that the original scenario did not deviate further from the original script.

"You're welcome, Ms. Iris," Ciel greeted back. "But seriously, Zero," in one of the rare chances, Ciel directs her frown on Zero. "Deciding to leave just like that and taking her along is dangerous!"

"..." Zero evaded Ciel's worried look. Instead, he turned his attention to the white-haired reploid. "But I doubt she'll stay here after I leave."

"You know me so well, Zero," with a smile on her face, Iris walked away from Zero and the others as she head straight to the operator area. She bowed to the red-haired operator named Rouge and the yellow-haired operator named Jaune before asking for Rouge to teach her how to use the current tran server. This in turn once more made Joan pout much to Rouge's annoyance.

Neo Arcadia Temple of Ice, evening.

at the same time,

"Is this your way of getting even on me?"

At the main chamber of the Temple of Ice, Fairy Leviathan's main base, an annoyed Harpuia glared at the blue reploid sitting comfortably on her chair.

"Fufufu" Leviathan giggles as she projects the the file Harpuia is asking for. Minus the actual image of the reploid which made Harpuia crush the small terminal he was holding.

After his encounter with the white-haired reploid Iris, the green sage tasked Leviathan to look for her information from the database of the old repliforce that is under her jurisdiction.

Half a day had passed and while Leviathan did comply with his orders, she added a catch.

The catch is that the data she gave him was fragmented into several pieces. The terminal containing the first fragment that she gave him has the location of the second fragment and the second fragment has the location of the third and so forth. To make sure that he would not have the Pantheon do the heavy lifting for him, Leviathan made sure that the fragmented files could only be obtained by Harpuia and no one else.

For the green sage, he did the task to humor her, and yet the blue reploid dared to leave the most important thing he asked of her.

He asks about her appearance, history, and connection to Zero and X. And while he gets detailed information regarding the reploid named Iris. He still does not know her appearance.

"Don't take it personally, Harpuia," Leviathan scoff at him mischievously. "Think of it as a down payment."

"Don't play games with me!" Harpuia scowls, both hands curled to a fist.

"Ehehehehehe, if I gave all the data to you, what's stopping you from not fulfilling your end of the bargain?" Leviathan teases while taking out her own weapon.

"..." Out of irritation, the Green sage stormed out of her temple.

I hope your reunion with Zero ends miserably. The green sage thought.

Aaaaaaaand Cut!

With this, the chapter came to a close. While some mechanics of the Megaman Zero game like the LV up mechanics of Zero's weapon in Zero1, his other weapons, and the making chips from enemy parts in Zero 4 have a story-related explanation. Zero's form system didn't have one or even him learning EX skill. Thus incorporate some of those mechanics as part of the story.

Making it reasonable why Zero does not have the EX-Skill in the Zero1 part. Unlike the level-up of weapon to learn sword skills is attributed to short-term amnesia after his long hibernation. Zero, not learning enemy skills, his double jump, and jump dash are simply because that part of his X-era capabilities was turned off/downgraded. And when he was revived in Z1, he was revived under the downgraded configuration of his body.

And while I doubt 'Iris' has access to any extra Megaman materials outside of what is known in the game during her time in the Deep log, Her statement that made Jaune react is a reference to the drama track Diary: Alouette's Good Day. (Jaune almost made an error in transfer coordinates that would send Zero in the wall for the Zero 2 Dysis Ruins stage which would pretty much lead to an instant game over.)

For the review likes and follow, thanks!

Omake: Back-up Plan #1

Resistance Base, 4F Cerveau's lab

"Are you sure that it is okay not to mention him about the Zero armor?"

While fixing her arm, Iris asked curiously about a certain detail Cerveau left out.

"It is still in the planning stage so no need to burden him on matters that we might not even use.

Upon finalizing the form system, Cerveau got an idea to further improve the Form System by creating a corresponding armor that would fully utilize the energy distribution of the Form system. And it took him the whole night after fixing Zero to create three plans for Zero's armor.

"I originally planned to let you have a look over the armors before saying anything to Zero."

"Oh? And where are they now?" Iris asked curiously.

Cerveau took a small terminal in his pocket and showed her the CAD design of Zero's new armor system.

And upon seeing them, Iris glared at him.

"Rejected!" she said instantly.

"Eh? What? Did I make a mistake?" Cervaue asked curiously. While it does not bode well that the designs he poured an all-nighter got rejected in an instant, his curiosity is far greater at the moment.

"I have no issue with the specs. It's the appearance I don't like."

"What's wrong with the design? And it's not like changing it would affect the performance, right?"

"..." Iris pauses for a bit as Cerveau is making sense of his argument but she is determined to push her demand. "Using the same visual design of X's armor will make him a knockoff of X. That's the issue!"

Using the data they gathered from the three guardians a year prior and the various sets of armors X used over the years shown from Iris' records, Cerveau noticed that some of those very armors of X represent some aspects of the remaining three Guardian's overall specs. That's when the idea of creating an armor to counter them came to mind.

The first armor he designed was the Falcon Z Armor which utilizes the Power, Rise, and Active forms Energy distributions modeled exactly like the Falcon armor that gives X short-flight capabilities. A flight-type armor that is suited to combat the Sage Harpuia.

The Gaia Z armor utilizes the Energy, Defence, and X forms and was tailored to be a buster-oriented armor with a high defense that can withstand spikes and lava for a short time. From its name alone, it is based on the Gaia Armor. A solid defense armor that can withstand the firepower of Fighting Fenrir.

lastly, the Shadow Z Armor uses Active, Rise, and Erase forms with stealth capacity and features that allow it to remain firm on walls, not slide on ice and jump on water based on the design of the Shadow armor. Suited against the swift Fairy Leviathan.

But do we need to worry about that minor detail?" Cervaue argued.

"I let you name it the form system," Iris counters back and exudes an aura that any form of argument is no longer allowed.

"But-"

"I let you name it the form system," Cerveau tried to argue back to no avail, and judging from Iris' rebuttal, she won't agree until he meets her demand.

"Ahaha..." Cerveau chuckle dryly. "Very well, what would you like then?"

"Just take a look at these," She then decided to show various reploid models.

The first model was Zero donning bat-like wings on its back and sharp claws on his fingers.

"This is his old Absolute Armor. It was originally planned to be used when they infiltrated Giga City but the development did not reach the deadline by the Time Zero and the operation started so the armor was scraped from production."

"Hmmm... I see, I see," Cerveau nodded in agreement. "With the wings, it would help him glide on air and is more energy efficient than the Falcon Z Armor," he then took a pen in his pocket and started scribing on the image. "These added features would do the trick." He proceeded to add boosters on the leg to increase the flight distance, a small buckler that is permanently attached to the right arm, and a chain rod that can function as a grappling hook, whip, and even a pile bunker. We can call this the Absolute Zero Armor V2."

The second image is of a reploid clad in black armor. This made Cerveau raise an eyebrow. "Let me get this right, you don't want to make the Gaia Z Armor to look like X's but you want me to tailor it to this reploid?"

"Robot master," Iris replied.

"Robot what?"

"You can think of it as the prototype of reploid." Cerveau's eyes open wide in shock. After all, the only information they got about the origin of the reploids was that they were a creation of Dr. Cain. But then again, Iris is also a relic of the past so it is possible that the information of the robot masters was not preserved."And this one in particular can be considered as Zero's prototype."

"What?" Cerveau asked, his mouth hanging in shock. "But this design is buster oriented like X." From the Zero he saw a year ago to some of the footage of Zero Iris provided him, he is shown to be a melee-oriented reploid that his prototype being range oriented one does not make sense.

"Zero wasn't a melee-oriented reptoid from the start," Iris answered. "the shift only started after several repairs and upgrades he undergoes. Which is why isn't it a better design than Gaia?"

"I see. This makes sense..."

"And since Bass was made as a rival to X's prototype, isn't it a way better idea to make Zero's buster-oriented armor look like him? "

"But this one is lacking some aspect if we are going to tailor it to fight Fenrir. why not add other extra weaponry?" he once again proceeded to doodle on the images. "At least this will increase the Bass armor's firepower.

He remade the image to fit the current era's design, equipped his back with a backpack to hold the Z-Saber in reminiscent of Zero's Old Model, and replaced the saber holster on the thigh with two buster shots.

"... I'd go for Forte but Bass Armor is Good enough," Iris replied as she gave the last design alternative for the Shadow Z Armor.

"What exactly should I do with this?"

The image she gave him was the Black Zero armor and a red-colored unit with a helmet similar to X but with an added shade. It has a yellow scarf around the neck and a surfboard-like shield on the back.

"I want to retain the color of his first armor and add shades and a scarf from this other robot master,"

"..."

"What?"

Cerveau was speechless for a bit and just stared at the white-haired reploid in confusion. After all, she only wants a palette swap of his current armor with added shades and a scarf.

"No Nothing," Cerveau replied. Not wanting to further know the reason behind the third design. "But we can tweak this one a little bit more, right?." He looks at her first to see if she will object before modifying the black armor as the base.

Cerveau not only added the shade and scarf but also included a face mask to it. He then cut in half the surfboard-like shield on the back and modified it further as a shield attached to his right arm that emitted the saber's blade from the tip of the shield and added three spike projectiles. He then attached the chain rod to the left arm, acting as a grappling hook. "And this will be Black Zero RM."

"RM?" Iris titles her head in confusion.

"Since this is mainly based on his first armor with black colored design, I decided to just call this version a remaster. Thus RM."

"Do what you will,"

Note:

From what I remember, Gundam has some influence on some of Megaman's armor designs like falcon armor (Victory Gundam) and I would even argue the form system of Zero 2 is taken from the phase shift armor of Seed.

Design-wise, in this fic, only the Bass armor is not based on a Gundam but is largely based on Bass's Battle Net design with an added double riffle similar to Axel's design. The Absolute Zero is pretty much similar to the Epyon while the Black Zero RM(remaster) is based on the Blitz Gundam Design.
