Don't Fuck with the White Mage (Jujutsu Kaisen - Utahime Iori SI Chapter 11)

As Geto Suguru sat on the couch lining the cargo plane, he couldn't help but be impressed and disgusted by the resources Jujutsu High had at their disposal when the need arises. But also how they treat their Sorcerer like easily replaceable cog to be used to slay Curses until they can't work anymore.

He looked at his fellow Sorcerers, feeling disgust at how they were all being treated. The cargo plane held about a hundred or so Sorcerers, yet the plane didn't have enough seats. Most stood and walked around. Other just sat on the floor. Yes, the situation was an emergency and speed was of the essence, yet this treatment still felt dehumanizing.

All of that because some Curseless Idiots decided to do something so vile and stupid. Not only killing themselves but brainwash a whole innocent village into it, just to summon their stupid "gods". Fucking bastards.

"Suguru. Suguru, look." Shoko said, poking him from the side.

"Shoko, we need some rest before we reach our destination. Just get some sleep." He said to his oddly stoic, yet at times hyperactive teammate. Even if her expression never really changes.

"Look, it's the Arsenal Miko." She said with some amusement entering her tone.

Suguru raised and eyebrow. "Arsenal? Don't you mean the shouaaaaaa..." Suguru's jaw dropped as he saw the infamous potential Special Grade miko he heard a lot about recently.

Well, he could definitely see why was called a miko so much. The girl, Utahime, was wearing the traditional garb of a miko of a white kosode with a scarlet hakama. She also had the school's jacket on as the only part of her uniform, and combat boot.

Also she was strapped with a lot of guns. She had two shotguns tied to her back, as if they were some western swords. She had the inside of her school jacket holstering two guns on each side. Strapped to her thighs were at least three guns on each side, and a belt of grenades around her chest. There were two large machine guns seated on either side of her, with longer strapped tied to her waist.

He could see her checking, cleaning and loading some kind of... he didn't know what that was called. He didn't know, a hand cannon? The bullets were as large as a sode can. A grenade launcher?

...That was a fucking grenade launcher wasn't it?

He didn't even want to think about that rectangle metal suitcase next to her.

Even other Sorcerer were looking at her like she was some lunatic.

What part of that is a traditional shrine maiden!? That's a walking commando unit!

A small laugh was let out of Suguru's mouth, as the ridiculousness of the situation somehow just eased his tension a little bit.

Admittedly, the whole thing with Satoru annoyed him a bit, since it seemed deliberately planned.

If only I could keep following him throughout the past week. ...But then I likely wouldn't have been fresh enough to go on this mission.

He leaned his head against the iron plane's wall, and let out a sigh. He closed his eyes trying to relax till the plane reached Urasato.

"Suguru." Shoko tugged at Suguru's arm.

"What? The Arsenal Miko did something crazy again?" He asked.

"The Arsenal Miko is coming toward us." Shoko replied.

Suguru's eyes snapped open as he leaned forward and... yep the the walking artillery Sorcerer had gotten up from her seat, and was heading in their direction.

Wasn't her Technique a support type? Those guns are useless.

"Good morning, I'm Iori Utahime. Third Year at Kyoto High. Nice to meet you both." Utahime greeted the Tokyo High Sorcerers with a smile.

"Ah, good morning. Ieiri Shoko, First Year. Nice to meet you, Senpai." Shoko greeted back.

"Hello, Geto Suguru." Suguru said back. "Please know Senpai, that while you might be older, we are not carrying stuff for you."

Shoko blinked and looked at Suguru for his blatant pushy statement. It wasn't disrespectful, but kinda pushing it.

"Pfft, of course not. I don't want you to end up shooting yourself or something." She waved him off with a laugh.

A sort of annoyance filled the air between them, but they both were acting too casual for it to be anything serious.

"Did you need something from us, Senpai?" Shoko asked, acting as a kind of mediator lest the two snip at each other from how stiff their smiles were.

"Right, I wanted to ask you both a question, and then you Geto-san, I wanted to ask you something specific." Utahime stated.

"Sure." Shoko said back.

"Can't stop you." Suguru shrugged.

"Where's Gojo Satoru?"

And just like that, whatever amicable mood that was present to keep everyone relatively polite was gone.

Ah, so that's what you're like too, huh. Suguru sighed, annoyance and oddly enough disappointment filling him.

"Eh, what's the worry, Senpai? Sad that you missed meeting your fiancé?" Suguru asked with a shit-eating grin.

"..." Utahime didn't respond, just blink and tilt her head staring at Suguru.

"Suguru." Shoko muttered while lightly elbowing him.

"You don't need to worry yourself, Senpai." Suguru shrugged. "This mission will go fine. You didn't need to overcompensate with all those useless guns." He sighed and leaned back into his seat, letting out a small plastic smile. "Besides there's already a Special Grade Sorcerer on this mission. I assure you, you'll see the difference between a Grade 1 and Special Grade when we reach our destination, and how-"

Utahime held a hand up.

"Apologies but I think there's a misunderstanding." Utahime spoke with a firm tone that threw him off, as the usual irritation and shame of people underestimating him, and, or greedily seeking out Satoru wasn't visible in her eyes. "The current mission's biggest problem is not just the ten Special Grades that were born from the cult's actions, but the sheer quantity of Curses numbering in the hundreds from what the latest report said. Had you not been present I would have asked Gojo in your place where you were, as it would have been a problem. Both of you, ideally, should have been here to take care of the bulk of the Curses swiftly and efficiently before they could spread out all over Kyushu."

"..." Suguru found his back straight at Utahime's explanation. A slight feeling of guilt poking at him. Okay, maybe he let his bad mood get to him and snapped at her.

"Oh wow, you're reflecting?" Shoko whispered next to him.

"Oi!" Suguru whispered back, as the miko wasn't what he expected. Utahime cleared her throat bringing attention back to her. Once Shoko and Suguru looked at her again, she just waited with a raised eyebrow, indicating for them to answer.

"Satoru is in bed. He needs a few hours of rest after the past week." Shoko answered, getting things on track again.

"The past week, what happened?" Utahime furrowed her eyebrows in concern.

"Wha? How do you not know?" Suguru blinked at that. "There's been multiple natural disasters, from earthquakes to tsunamis, to wild fires, even a major gas leak that could have turned into a catastrophe. A lot of strong Cursed Spirits were born from that." He explained.

"Ah," Utahime blushed. "I was busy and didn't follow the news." She got disbelieving looks in return. Utahime coughed and pushed through onto the topic. "What were the locations?" She spoke seriously once more.

"All over Japan. It was never one consistent place. Satoru ended up tiring himself out too quickly, so he needs to rest for a while before he can come back us up." Shoko answered.

"That idiot." Suguru sighed. "He should have waited a while to catch his breath. I dealt with some of those Curses as well, but I couldn't travel around as fast as he does." He complained, hiding his annoyance at his lacking strength. He wasn't weaker than Satoru, but he was starting to realize he might need more options to deal with more Cursed Spirits. Travel time being one of them.

"Given the cult's success, was this deliberate?" Utahime asked in thought, crossing one arm around her torso, and held her chin with her other hand.

"The natural disasters definitely not." Suguru huffed in amusement, before turning seriously again. "The rest however was likely an oppurtunity they created to tire Satoru out, so they can go ahead with their stupid suicidal plan." He growled in annoyance. "They want to turn the country into a divided war torn hellscape, like it's the Sengoku era or something." He said in disgust.

"Huh? Wasn't their belief that their Ten Treasure Gods would bring a new era of peace or something?" Utahime blinked at that.

"That's what they say." Suguru said with a frown, as Shoko nodded in agreement. "In practical terms, they think people don't appreciate their lives, so they want everyone to experience the hardship of war and suffering to reflect on their lives, and appreciate it more.

"...The fuck? Are they disciples of John Kramer?" Utahime said in equal disgust.

Shoko and Suguru blinked at Utahime's vulgar reply.

Shoko looked on in amusement, as the seniors she knows usually try to set a good example and don't swear in front of her.

Suguru meanwhile found himself shaking with barely contained laughter, as her reply was nearly the same thing, Satoru said when he first heard about the Seekers cult.

"What?" Utahime said, upon seeing their amusement.

"Nothing, nothing. We just didn't think you're the type to like foreign horror films, like Saw." Suguru waved her off.

"Ehh, morbid curiosity." Utahime said back, before shaking her head. "Anyways, what I wanted to ask you specifically, Geto-san," she said, making Suguru listen up and pay attention. "Does the Cursed Energy levels of your Cursed Spirits affect your ability to control them?"

"...Huh. Usually people are not that upfront when they ask if my Technique has weaknesses." He eyed her with neutral apprehension.

"What I mean is, if I buff your Cursed Spirits, will you have a problem with controlling them?" Utahime persisted, making Suguru raise an eyebrow.

"Shouldn't you be trying to conserve your Cursed Energy?" Suguru politely asked.

Utahime shook her head. "This wouldn't be a problem for me. So?" She asked.

"It wouldn't make a difference in my control." Suguru replied. "Once I absorb a Cursed Spirit, that's it. There's no fighting back or anything of the sort, even if I overcharge them with Cursed Energy." He chuckled. "So senpai, you don't need to worry, once we land you can buff them as much as you want."

"How many can you summon at any one time? Can you summon them all at once?" Utahime questioned.

"Err, sorry Senpai, but aren't you getting a little to personal with your questions." Suguru said playful at the intrusive questions. "Could it be...?"

"Are you interested in Suguru?" Shoko 'whispered', playfully.

"Could it be scouting by the Iori Clan?" Suguru asked.

"Or something else?" Shoko added.

Sheer unadulterated deadpanned expression met the younger Tokyo Jujutsu High students. Utahime's half-lid eyes seemed to suggest what the two side was the height of stupidity.

"Hey, Suguru, I think we should stop. She's looking at us like we're bugs." Shoko whispered.

"Where's Satoru when we need to throw him under the bus?" Suguru whispered back.

Utahime cleared her throat.

""S-Sorry, ma'am! Yes, ma'am!"" Suguru and Shoko said together.

"About my question," Utahime continued. "Never mind that, I will buff you, you'll summon all your Curses and I'll buff them as well. Get ready."

""Huh?"" The two Tokyo students were taken back by Utahime decisive tone. They looked back to see her looking at the plane's windows.

"Eh, Senpai, what do you mean?" Shoko asked, but Utahime had moved to one of the emergency two-way transceiver mounted on the wall of the plane, that allows direct communication with the pilot.

"Mr. Pilot, This is Iori Utahime, apologies but I believe a situation had come up with the containment team. How far off are we to our destination?" Utahime demanded into the emergency two-way radio.

Her actions were noticed by all the other Sorcerers, who saw her speaking out loud.

"Err, we're about five minutes out till we reach Urasato." The pilot's voice came from the intercom.

"Shoko," Suguru spoke.

"Eh?" Shoko looked at her teammate.

"Get your parachute ready." Suguru said seriously. He looked outside the window and saw what Utahime saw.

Far off in the distance, almost easy to dismiss as a bird, was a Cursed Spirit flying parallel to the plane.

"Mr. Pilot, you're gonna have to open the cargo doors now." Utahime commanded into the walkie-talkie as she headed back to Suguru and Shoko.

"Eh, what?" The pilot's confused voice came from the intercom.

"Oi, Kyoto Third Year, what do you think you're doing?" Ask one of the Tokyo teachers.

"Suguru?" Shoko asked as she grabbed her parachute.

"EVERYONE!" Utahime shouted, getting everyone to look at her, not just those bored or curious. "If you look outside the window, you'll see Cursed Spirit starting to appear in flight with us. I'm afraid the containment team has failed. We'll have to act now to start dealing with the situation."

"Eh, wait."

"What did she say?"

"That miko brat acting out for attention?"

"Oh shit, look, she's right!"

The younger Sorcerers began to talk out loud and shout, while the more experienced ones began take command of their group.

"Geto! You and Ieiri, come with me now!" Utahime ran to the center of the plane. Suguru and Shoko moved and followed her.

"Shouldn't we be running to the hanger door to get out?" Suguru asked.

"No. After I buff you, you will, so we can have a safe landing. Just wait one second, so I can give us some breathing room." Utahime said, and more and more Cursed Spirit started appearing more frequently around the plane, making everyone now aware of them. "Bonds of Fate. Satisfaction. Samsara. Liberation. Return." She cast her Technique using the full chant, as Positive Energy exploded out of her. "Cursed Technique Reversal - Maximum Cursed Energy Output: Gathering Hallowed Belt!"

Utahime cried out, and a sphere burst out from her as the epicenter, enveloping the whole plan. 76 meters in radius.

The whole plane was covered. Some Cursed Spirits that were close by, or hand held onto the plane were instantly evaporated.

"Woah, so that's the Purification Miko." One of the many Sorcerers muttered in awe as he looked outside to the window to see many Cursed Spirits that came close instantly disperse into nothing.

"Someone tell the pilot to open the damn cargo door already! Geto, you ready?" Utahime ordered, before looking at Suguru.

"Ready." Suguru said seriously, seeing as now it was time for combat. The mission didn't wait for them, it already started. "Can you actually use both Cursed Technique and its Reversal-" Suguru started to ask.

Outside the plane, the Cursed Spirits that escaped Urasato and found their first victim in the sky, were wary of the positive energy sphere that suddenly appeared around it.

The plane's back cargo door then opened, and the sphere disappeared.

Cursed Spirit, cried out with glee and sadism as they acted on instinct and flew toward the open cargo door.

What greeted them was hundreds upon hundreds of tamed Cursed Spirits that once they left the cargo door exploded in size and power, before the giant eastern dragon flew out the plane.

The Rainbow Dragon grew in size till it matched the cargo plane and could wrap itself around it several times.

The newborn Cursed Spirits didn't have any time to comprehend what they saw, as the Dragon Cursed Spirit opened it's mouth and unleashed concentrated water cutting beams at them all.
