Chapter 1: Alex the Patient.
The spies walked into their house, with Alex on Clover's back. Her leg was wrapped up in bandages.
"This hurts." Alex whimpered.
"I'm so sorry, Alex. I should have been paying more attention." Clover said.
"I'm the one who's sorry. I thought that beam looked loose, but I didn't say anything." Sam said.
"It's okay, girls. My leg isn't anyone's fault. I'm just glad neither of you two were hurt." Alex said.
"Yeah, but I feel bad because you pushed me out of the way and took the beam to your leg." Clover said.
"And I feel bad because I didn't give a heads up." Sam said.
"Hey, guys, quit blaming yourselves. I wanted to protect Clover." Alex said as they sat her on the couch.
"Well, Alex, do you need anything?" Clover asked.
"I could use some lunch." Alex said.
"Okay. I'll work on that. Sam, you work on helping Alex with anything else." Clover said before she rushed into the kitchen.
"Okay, Alex, would you like to watch TV?" Sam asked.
"Well, that new episode of my favorite show is on in an hour, so yes." Alex said before Sam handed her the remote.
A few minutes later, Clover came back with Alex's lunch.
"Here you go, Alex." Clover said as she placed the tray in front of her.
"Thanks, Clover." Alex said.
"Is there anything else you need?" Sam asked.
"Guys, I appreciate you caring for me and all, but I wish you guys wouldn't fuss over me." Alex said with a smile.
"But, Alex, we're both at fault for you getting hurt. We have to fuss over you to make up for it." Clover said.
"No you don't. I told you, I didn't want either one of you to get hurt. If anything, I'm the one at fault for not securing the beam earlier. You guys are doing a great job taking care of me, but I don't want you two to overexert yourselves." Alex said.
Sam and Clover looked at each other before they sighed and said, "Okay, Alex."
"But if you need anything, let us know." Sam said.
Alex nodded as the two of them went off to their agendas.
Later, they came back and saw Alex was asleep on the couch. They smiled before they went to the kitchen.
"You know, maybe Alex is right. We may feel bad, but we don't need to go crazy just to make it up." Sam said.
"Well, we should at least make it so we can help her to feel better without going overboard." Clover said before she got an idea.
The next morning, Alex awoke to a smell. She looked and saw a tray full of her favorite breakfast being handed to her by Sam and Clover.
"Good morning, Alex!" they said.
"Morning, guys. Mmm, that smells good!" she said.
"Thought we'd get you breakfast." Clover said before they handed her the tray.
"Thanks." Alex said as they ate breakfast together while watching TV.
Later, after helping her to and from school, they helped Alex with anything else she needed.
