Don't Fuck with the White Mage (Jujutsu Kaisen - Utahime Iori SI Chapter 18)

As Iyashi and Megruru were getting closer to the northern side of Urasato from the center of it, passing by abandoned building and corpses, Meguru sudden stopped.

"Fuhengi has fallen." She stated. Plain and simple, she didn't need to elaborate.

"What?" Iyashi rounded on her, his expression one of clear shock. "How could such a thing have happened?"

"We can ask our slain brother ourselves." Meguru was already employing her Innate Cursed Technique.

Iyashi frowned but didn't say anything. Meguru being able to cast her Technique right away with minimal pre-time meant she had been gathered Cursed Energy, charging it for a while now.

The Leader of the Ten Treasures Cursed Spirits couldn't help the slight feeling of irritation toward the safe point of their group. Yes, she always listen to him and followed him around, yet small moments like this made him wondered if he truly had any real control over her.

Meguru's Curse Technique, Rewinding Journey, allowed her to reverse the flow of time of whatever her Cursed Energy touched. Couple that with her Cursed Energy's property of connecting, Linking, to other Cursed Energy along with her natural born link to her siblings of the Ten Treasures Cursed Spirits, thus she was naturally born with an Extension Technique.

"Returning Asura." Meguru spoke. Her shadow extended forward, and then a figure slowly rose up from it.

The figure was a samurai in black armor and a floating broken dhrama wheel slowly spinning behind him.

"Fuhengi." Iyashi stood straight, eyes piercing his fellow Cursed Spirit's form as he tried to appear unaffected by their strongest being beaten. "You were felled."

"Yep!" Fuhengi said with the biggest bloodiest grin on his face.

Meguru huffed in amusement, while Iyashi frown grew at his comrade's jubilant attitude.

"And how," Iyashi stressed, trying to point out the severity of such a thing. "Could such a thing have come about?"

"Well," Fuhengi couldn't help the excitement in his voice. "They have their own Meguru."

Meguru and Iyashi blinked at that comment, and for the first time Meguru's stoic expression, changed to one of concern.

"Meguru!" Iyashi turned to her. "Can you see what happened?"

Meguru had her eyes closed as if she was watching something.

"A moment, Iyashi-sama. Fuhengi's Cursed Energy makes processing his memories a bit tedious. It will be a few minutes." Meguru said.

Fuhengi felt a tug from the Link he, and all the Ten Treasures Cursed Spirits, held toward Meguru. He didn't fight it. Mainly because he didn't feel like being an ass. It was the first time he died and he was still a bit euphoric from that battle with the miko. Next time, it will be a proper fight.

Fuhengi recalled the feeling of his Cursed Energy being ripped apart at the stems, and wondered if he could... relax his Cursed Energy a bit. Letting it flow freely a bit, rather than the dead grip he always had on it.

Death had a way of changing one's outlook on how to conduct one's self.

Meguru's eyebrow raised, as she frowned and tilted her head before relaxing.

A few seconds later she opened her eyes, looking at Fuhengi in contemplation.

"You are done?" Iyashi interrupted her thoughts.

"Yes." Meguru said. "It was... surprisingly easier than anticipated." She nodded toward Fuhengi.

The Samurai Cursed Spirit scoffed with a smile and said nothing.

Meguru proceeded to explain the events that transpired to their warrior comrade.

"That..." Iyashi had a hand to his mouth, as he looked down in worry and thought. "There are only two Special Grade Sorcerers, and yet this Utahime isn't acknowledged as one? How can that be so?" His eyes widened slightly. "Could it be... that not all Grade 1 Sorcerers are the same. That the gap between the strongest Grade 1 and a Special Grade are much higher than anticipated?" A deep sense of worry and dread creeped up on the leader of the Ten Treasures Cursed Spirits.

"I don't believe so." Meguru said. "Based on the memories of our other brethren before they were felled by an attack of, who I suspect is Gojo Satoru, Iori Utahime strength lies in being a force multiplier for others. The strength of her Domain and Curse Technique is in the numbers of Sorcerers the surround her." She explained. "However when adding her Curse Technique Reversal, she becomes..." Meguru looked away lost in thought.

"Becomes?" Iyashi repeated impatiently.

"A natural enemy." She replied. "A predator specifically for us Cursed Spirits. I quite likely can say that meeting her equates walking toward our own death."

"That's absurd!" Iyashi gritted his teeth, before forcing himself to calm down. "Surely there's a weakness. A limit."

"None that I could see through Fuhengi's eyes." Meguru shook her head.

"There is." Fuhengi spoke up, bringing his siblings attention to him. "I am her counter. Even with her Domain, she struggled a bit to kill me." He said with a vicious grin. "She's strong but not a god. She's still human at the end of the day. She gets tired, she bleeds, all we need to do is fight." He looked intensely at Meguru and Iyashi. "Fight like we never fought before. Fight like we mean it. The other of the Ten? Us? We've been playing. We were learning, it's been fun before, if the other side is fighting with everything they have... Wouldn't it be rude if we don't do the same?"

Iyashi and Meguru were taken aback by Fuhengi's words. Iyashi scowling but seriously contemplating his strongest comrade's words. Meguru has a small smile on her face.

"You have changed."

"That miko..." Fuhengi had a contemplative look on his face. "As our Cursed Energy interacted, fought against one another, I could feel something about her. She's young, stronger, will get stronger still later on, but right now? She feels... unripened. Something is missing, and as long as she doesn't have that something she can still be killed."

"Interesting analysis." Iyashi said calmly, now adjusting to this new insightful Fuhengi. "And what would that 'something' be?"

Fuhengi shrugged, annoying Iyashi again.

"She seemed awfully concerned with the saving the human you half-transformed. She managed something, from what I could see from Fuhengi's memories, but I'm unsure if she succeeded for not." Meguru said thoughtfully.

"Hmm..." Iyashi took a moment to compile all the pieces of information he had learned in the past few minutes, reviewing everything his comrades said, and what they currently know about the Sorcerers and their capabilities. "Fight intentionally, is what you said, Fuhengi?" He looked toward the Samurai Cursed Spirit who grunted and nodded. "And you said she fashioned herself a savior?" Meguru nodded. "Very well." Iyashi took a few steps away from the two Cursed Spritis before abruptly stopping and turning to face them. "Very well," he repeated, but now with a menacing smile. "Let us answer these ignorant Sorcerers and their misbeguided beliefs. Here's what will do."

And as the Leader of the Ten Treasures Cursed Spirits began to explain his plan, the other two listened, a smile slowly coming to their faces.

This time, the Ten Treasures Cursed Spirits will be going to war.

"So the bill for the minigun purchase, transport along with the naginata will be-" Mei Mei said to me as a greeting.

"Oh please, counting turning your chopper into a Cursed Tool, not only does that day for transport, there is enough over, that you should be paying me." I deadpanned back.

"Ah, true. And the purchasing?" Mei asked with amusement in her tone.

"Bill him." I jerked a thumb at Satoru nearby who was still giddy at having fired by missile launcher.

However upon hearing my remark, all the joy left his face for shock and dread.

"Err, what? Hey, Senpai, what's that about me paying?" He said, sounding worried.

"It's called taking responsibility, Gojo-san." I said pointedly.

"Eh? It went down to 'Gojo'?" He whined in a whispered voice. "Come on, Utahime-senpai, aren't you being too harsh? Besides I'm just a high school student. Do I look like I have that kind of money?"

"Mei, make a payment plan for Gojo-san." I crossed my arms.

"With pleasure." Mei Mei smiled.

"Eh! Mei-san come on! And Senpai, stop calling me 'Gojo-san'! It feels too distant now." He then held his fingers pointed at each other like some shy anime character. "I mean, we were so close that we used our Cursed Techniques together, and made some awesome moves. Did you not see that explosion!" He grinned joyously. "Besides, Senpai is rich, Mei-san always talks about how happy she is to work with you, so what's a few million for you?" He waved me off.

I couldn't help the unadulterated disgust on my face at seeing him act like some shy maiden.

"Scum."

"Woah, Senpai! Why do you look like you're seeing a bug, and are you seriously pissed off about the money that your Cursed Energy would start recovering faster?" Satoru said astonished.

"Damn right I am!" I shouted before taking a deep breath as my anger was just amusing Satoru even more. Okay, let's think, what to do to make this brat behave a bit... Take away his fun. "Mei-san, after billing the Gojo Clan, please put them on the blacklist for selling any of the Cursed Tools I make for them."

"That would put some cost on you, for taking away a potential customer, but happily! Can't annoy the Cursed Tool producer after all." Mei Mei voice was full of mirth.

Satoru's eyes widen in childish panic.

"Wait, wait, wait! Senpai! Utahime-senpai! Utahime-sama! Please let me keep having magic boom sticks in the future!" Satoru cried and whined.

"How is it, Iyashi-sama?" Meguru asked with a smile.

"Perfect. I didn't think you can manage to transfer it that well." Iyashi said, sounding pleased as he preformed the technique without issue.

"It only thanks to the growth of our siblings. Endless Two and Fuhengi, thank you. You growth allowed me to grasp this knowledge."

The revived Endless Two let out a sound resembling a laugh.

"Heh, stop with the modesty." Fuhengi grinned as he crossed his arm. "You would have gained all that stuff anyways with your Links."

Meguru just beatifically smiled.

"Mana!" I smiled cheerfully as the Zenin advanced group, I think they were called the Hei Unit, reached us.

"Utahime-senpai." Mana beamed with a smile.

"Hello, Mana-san." Mei Mei greeted casually.

"It's good to see you too, Lady Mei Mei." Mana smiled back.

"Yo, Chibi Zenin!" Satoru interjected himself into our team's reunion.

"Ah... Gojo-sama." Mana looked like she didn't process suddenly seeing Satoru being there. Yeah that happens, he just suddenly appears.

"What happened to your arms?" I said focusing on Mana's wrapped arms, as I moved into heal them.

"The girl actually managed to take one of the Special Grades down herself. Something pretty laudable! Had to get her to the best healer right away, gahahahaha!" The Head of the Zenin Clan spoke as he approached us. There were three people following him. One of them being Naoya with an attempted relaxed nonchalant look on his face. From what I recall of seeing a few pictures, the others are Zenin Naohiro and Zenin Naoki. So those were Zenin Naobito's kids.

Adding in Mana, I'm guessing that's all of Naobito's kids.

Naohiro looks to be entering his twenties, while Naoki looks to be in his mid-twenties. Naoya... wow, I forgot how young he would be right now. Still looks like a kid I'd want to punch in the face. Wait... I just noticed Mana is older than Naoya.

Recalling how Mana was trying to sell me on Naoya when we first met, that's actually kinda creepy.

From what I could feel from all of them, they seem irritated somewhat to be here.

"Zenin-sama." I acknowledged respectfully, which seemed to please the Zenin family.

"Wow, leading with the complements right away." Satoru interjected. "Seriously old man, coming here yourself, did all of you get your asses kicked?"

Aaaaand Satoru just had to kick politeness out of the area.

"Oh? Then what are you doing here brat? What? Did your balls drop and you finally notice women?" Naobito laughed in Satoru's face.

"Hahaha, really? You and the three ducklings with you going after one woman a quarter of your age? All to fix your boo boos? Aren't you ashamed of yourselves as veteran Sorcerers?"

Yet the both of them looked at each other with irritated smiles.

"We are not the ones in need of healing." Said Zenin Naoki, Naobito's eldest son.

I ignored the clash of ego, as I unwrapped Mana's arms that were now showing clean and unblemished skin.

"You finished things at the east side correct? Did you receive the text message?" I asked.

"Yeah." Mana grimaced. "To think after everything, those Cursed Spirits could just return like that."

"Hmph, they all ran away at the end." Naoya interjected into our talk. Beyond giving the relaxed and observant Mei Mei an acknowledging nod, he focused only on us. Or rather on me. Wow, he seems very short. "Right now, those Curses must be shaking in their shoes, as from the latest reports, they all retreated to the center of the village. They rounded themselves us for a slaughter."

Satoru and the older Zenin were engaged in shit talking.

"Wait, they retreated from all directions to the center?" I blinked at that. Naoya smirked, likely about to comment or quip, when I ignored him to turn to my team's leader. "Kamo-sensei!" I called out, making her turn to me. "What's the status of the other containment areas?"

"All other containment teams have restored their barriers and made their bases. It seemed like all Cursed Spirits ran away back into the heart of the village." Tsururu-sensei said.

"How long ago?" I asked.

"A while?" Tsururu-sensei said. "Maybe twenty minutes or so?"

Around the time I deployed my Domain Expansion against Fuhengi? No. A bit after that. After Satoru took out the rest of the Cursed Spirits here.

"Exactly what I said." Naoya said irritated, before sighing and resting his hands behind his head. "Oi, Mana, is your senpai that doubtful of a person?" He said with closed eyes, before opening one to stare at me. "Or are you just to willful to listen to others?"

"Confirmation." I said, giving him an answer to shut him up as I was deep in thought. "Something feel off. Satoru!" I called out.

"Eh? Back to Satoru again? And without even the 'san'-?" He asked, sounding teasing and pleased, before I cut him off.

"Can you see the center of the village? Or at least the movement of Cursed Energy there?"

"I don't have Superman's long range vision, you know?" He said even while turning and focusing at the direction of the village heart. "I can't just focus and..." Satoru fell silent.

And immediately the relaxed mood was gone.

"Now, now Goblin Maker, hold on. Just keep holding on. Do not fight, focus on creating." Meguru said encouragingly, before she turned to her other brethren. "You two are also doing great, Endless Two, Colony."

Currently the giant body of Goblin Maker was seated on the ground, its eyes closed in deep concentration. Tens of Bee Curses and Snake Curses were flying into its body. And out of its back Curses that looked like wyverns the size of large eagles with anglerfish like face and teeth emerged and flew around.

Giant flying Ant Curses also grew out of its body but holding the same amorphous color and texture of Goblin Maker's body.

Endless Two's Snake Curses were also diving into a newly made poison swamp by Snake Skin. Hundreds of their bodies sacrificed for Snake Skin's duplicate bodies.

Colony stood next to Goblin Maker, letting out a purr as it caressed his face. Her children were being reborn by her sibling into magnificent Ant Curses that could devour and transform their victims directly into Cursed Spirits, rather than needing to bring them to Goblin Maker.

All the Snake Curses sacrificed resulted in Endless Two having Snake Curses in the thousands for its efforts. This in turn meant the creation of more Wyvern Cursed Spirits and more Naga Cursed Spirits.

And then, when there were an excess of Naga Cursed Spirits, they were also sacrificed to Goblin Maker.

The creation born of the Naga Curses were tall. They had scale for skin, humanoid structure with arms, legs, a tail and a ferocious reptilian face. Lizardmen Cursed Spirits.

"What is it?" I quickly asked.

"We need to go and end this. Now." Satoru still had his casual smile, but his tone held a firmness to him. He took out his phone and called someone, called Suguru.

"What do you mean, kid? The hell got your spooked?" Even the Zenin Head treated this seriously.

"Heh, what? Did seeing Ten Special Grade Curses together frightened the indomitable Gojo Satoru?" Zenin Naohiro joked.

"That amount of Cursed Energy? That's not ten. Yo! Suguru! It's me. Yeah, I'm here." Satoru started talking on the phone. "Yeah, don't worry, I'm fine. Our White Mage-senpai got me back to a 100%. It's all good. Listen, center of town, there's an army of Curses. We're gonna need all yours too."

"An army? They regroup this fast?" Zenin Naoki said surprised and worried. Naoya lost his relaxed stance, as he listened to all this.

"We need to launch an attack and take them out before they can move." Tsururu-sensei commanded.

"Forget about it, you'll get in the way." Satoru said harshly. "Right now we need just those of Grade 1 or higher. Anyone else will be dead weight." He turned to me.

"They won't be. Not if I buff everyone here." I said.

"And if the Curses escape the group, the containment team won't be able to defend, and fend them off at the same time. A fighting group on all four directions is needed for anything that slips through, while we take out the main force."

"Hmm, a small group, isn't a bad idea, while everyone else takes care of the rabble." Naobito said holding his chin.

"Oi, old man, you're not thinking of coming with, are you?" Satoru pouted.

"Hell yeah," Naobito said, smirking annoyingly toward the Gojo. "Naoki and Naohiro, you stay here and held the barrier team if anything slips through. The two eldest Zenin frowned, but nodded obeying their father's orders. "Naoya, Mana, you're coming with us."

Satoru sighed, annoyed. "Seriously?"

"I can vouch for Mana." I said.

"and I vouch for Naoya, this kid is strong." Naobito said.

"Heh, thank you, father." Naoya nodded.

"Yeah, yeah," Satoru rubbed the back of his head. "What about you, Mei-san?"

"I'll come with. While you're handling anything on the ground, I'll deal with any flying Curses and provide support from the air." Mei Mei nodded.

"Is that..." A surprised Naoya said, as he blinked a few times and pointed at the helicopter as if only now noticing it. "Is that helicopter a Cursed Tool?"

"Well... damn. Didn't think that could be a thing." Naobito said, surprised.

"Hehehe, oh yeah, Utahime made it." Satoru grinned as if he was praising me.

"You managed to create this?" Naobito asked in fascination.

"Yes, Zenin-sama." I nodded.

"Damn. Maybe, let's talk more about Cursed Tools after the mission." He said, basically inviting me to sell to him.

"Yeah, sorry, all Weapon Cursed Tools for the forseeable future have been bought by the Gojo Clan. You're gonna have to wait your turn old man." Satoru interjected and bragged.

"Really? Even the minigun and the missile launcher?" I asked.

"Urgk! Senpai, you really don't let things go?" Satoru flinched, while looking at me pleadingly. I didn't show mercy.

Then any joking was gone, as we all felt the massive amount of Cursed Energy bursting to untold levels in the center of the village.

""That was too fucking fast!"" Satoru and I shouted.

"Thank you, Rust Cloth. I know this entire endeavor was painful for you while I refined my abilities." Iyashi said with a kind tone, even bowing in respect to Rust Cloth's efforts.

Rust Cloth let out a gurgle made of metal tubes hitting each other. It looked tired and angry, but nodded with some satisfaction on its face.

"Even if you'll be gone for this battle, little brother, your presence will be felt and I will ensure you are able to contribute in the next battles to come." Meguru said reassuringly.

Rust Cloth let out a screeching laugh, before looking at Iyashi determinedly and nodded.

Iyashi placed a hand on Rust Cloth's face once again as he had been doing for the past while, and it's body shrunk, crumbling and breaking into smaller pieces, as it turned into a ball of Cursed Energy.

Rust Cloth's self and being shimmered down until only an object that was his Cursed Energy and Cursed Technique remained. A Cursed Object that was Rust Cloth's essence.

Iyashi gave the sphere delicately to Meguru.

Meguru gently held it to her chest with her eyes closed and she absorbed her sibling back into her being, absorbing his essence and abilities... and then pouring them back out through her Link to her present siblings, letting the remaining Ten Treasures Special Grade Cursed Spirits-Endless Two, Snake Skin, Colony, Goblin Maker, all their creations, along with Fuhengi, Iyashi and herself-all gain Rust Cloth's speed and durability.

And for some of them, Endless Two, Colony and Snake Skin, their Cursed Energy gained an addition property of Corrosion's decay touch.

Even if their brother won't be with them in this fight, he's be fighting with them in spirit.

The Cursed Tool Helicopter appeared via teleportation over the center of Urasato. I, Satoru, Mana, the Zenin Head and Heir along with Mei Mei in the pilot seat, were present.

There was one extra person, or rather being present. Birdman. Yeah, I had Mei Mei make him before we headed out. No chances were to be taken.

It was like a scene from hell, as hundreds-thousands of Cursed Spirits filled village. It looked like a sea of scaly beings on the ground and in the air.

Instantly I felt hundreds of those Curses fly in our direction. They looked like mini-wyverns and giant flying ants.

"Lapse: Blue!" Satoru with his rejuvenated Cursed Energy output, immediately jumped from the chopper, and launched his Cursed Technique.

The blue sphere quickly looked like a ball of monsters, as they were crushed and grinded against it. However there were too many

"Domain Expansion!" I jumped out of the chopper too, covered in my Will-O-Wisp cloak. "Bestowing Kagura."

I cast my Domain and wiped out all the flying Curses that were in my range. I only activated the Domain for a second to conserve energy, while filling myself with Positive Energy. I also buffed everyone with me over the max (including Birdman) to prepare for the fight to come.

That's three times cast my Domain today. My head was heating up before I started RCT. I don't know how many times I can afford to use it, so I'll conserve it for the next big attack.

"Mei Mei, go higher!" I shouted, as I and Satoru flew down.

"Utahime-senpai!" Mana jumped from the plane and I covered her in the Will-O-Wisp cloak too.

"Grab us too, miko!" Naobito jumped with a carefree grin, along with his son, and I was tempted to let them fall because of that entitled attitude. They probably are durable enough to handle it.

"Fine!" I grabbed them too as all five of us headed for battle.

Then over the horizon hundred of Cursed Spirits that didn't look as uniform the ones we were fighing flew toward us.

One of them was a massive familiar white Chinese dragon. It launched a beam of pressurized water that tore a line through Cursed Spirit forces.

"Hey, everyone. Looks like you need an army." Geto Suguru said with a smile, as he summoned one of the Ten Treasures Special Grades next to him.

Fisherman appeared next to Suguru, and jumped off the dragon's head. The minute it touched the ground, it rang its bell and a Domain was launched as Fisherman and Hiding Darkness began killing all the Curses they caught.

"Hell yeah!" Satoru grinned, as he gave a thumbs up to his best friend.

We all dived and touched down on the ground, facing the Special Grade Cursed Spirits if they were waiting for us.

The final battle was here.
