I don't own FNAF or any of the characters
"How the fuck does he know and how the hell are the characters moving around and talking" William panicked at the thought of his crimes being exposed for the world to see. He didn't know but would get to the bottom of it though the idea of being a video character with free will was ridiculous.
"He needs to die" William concluded that the kid was too dangerous to be left alive. However, he needed to get past the animatronics and gut the new hire like a fish. The mere thought of having the life drain from him or screaming out in pain before passing into the afterlife brought a smile to William. His cold dead heart warmed at the thought, he couldn't wait to start. Maybe he could hack the animatronics and have them kill Matthew. A stray thought occurred to him, no matter how absurd it seemed to William the possibility that they were in a video game was not zero. Several instances popped into his mind, events where he did things that he didn't want to do initially but then something took over him and made him do it. A feeling that his life would be snuffed if he didn't do it.
"No," William shook his head. Why did he kill those children in the first place? What could have possessed him to commit such a heinous crime in the first place? Was that him that did it, the first time he could say it wasn't?
"Why did I kill Charlie? What compelled me to do that and why do I have such regret?" The doubts in his mind only intensified until another thought came to him.
"Why did I feel so much satisfaction in doing those actions? Am I a monster?" With that last one, a single tear came to his eye. Perhaps he was nothing more than a video game character. Being forced to carry out those actions for the entertainment of others caused some resentment to bubble up. Those bastards who play these games turned him into a serial killer, getting some sort of sick amusement out of the suffering of people like him. Turning a respectable businessman into a cold-blooded killer and a terrible father to boot. The feelings began to grow even more when he realized that the children were created to be killed. Parents are forced to endure the tragedy of burying their kids. Kids who would never grow up and if his suspicions were true, were forced to inhabit the animatronics. How else would they be able to move and talk like they were living people?
These doubts and feelings of guilt and resentment continued to build until his code within the program became corrupted. William Afton was no longer an NPC, instead, he was a virus with a mind of its own and a physical body. It is a virus that could respawn due to him being needed for the death minigames of FNAF 2. He was now bent on revenge against the sick bastards who made his life hell. Revenge for the kids he was forced to murder by some unknown force that may or may not be video game code.
"I'm going to make them all pay. They will suffer like they made us suffer for their assessment" His grin grew wider and wider as he began plotting the most effective way to drag everyone else down to hell. Perhaps by entering their systems and releasing blackmail or other embarrassing or illegal content, they have on their computers if they have any to begin with.
Meanwhile with Matthew
"Are you an employee now?" Puppet asked.
"No, I only said that to get him off my back. I honestly don't know if he would try to kill me like he is programmed to do" Matthew grunted at the island in the kitchen.
"So you don't want to work at the pizzeria?" Puppet wondered why he didn't want to work there.
"Listen that company tends to criminally neglect their employees so no I have no intention of working there" Matthew responded. So that was it, the criminal neglect of their employees which was true. The workplace culture there wasn't the greatest and there would no doubt be people who would love to yell at Matthew for the slightest mistake. That's not counting the serial killer who owns the establishment or at least is part owner. The puppet could now see why Matthew wouldn't want to work there, looking back at it. It probably explained the high attrition rate though the game made it impossible for the place to go out of business.
"Well I do believe that the others would have raised hell at the thought of you working at our establishment" Matthew groaned at the thought though it would be amusing to see. But he still didn't trust William to not follow through with his programming. Plus he could only imagine how the animatronics would react to his death.
"I wonder if you think I would respawn upon death or not?" Matthew asked.
"Well as of right now no, though an argument has been made that at some point your consciousness would have to be downloaded. But when that happens your physical body would be destroyed. We all figured that we would wait until you're an elderly man before doing that" Puppet answered. Well, shit at least they will let him live his life before doing something like that and it's as if he could fight them on this. He will eventually die at some point and they aren't just going to let him pass on and leave them alone for eternity. They have their hill and they are willing to die on it no matter what Matthew says. Plus if he indicates that he is fine with passing on then they might force it.
"So if you wanted to do it earlier would you at least ask me first?" Matthew asked.
"Of course, we realize that forcing the matter would just end up souring relations so if you wanted to do that earlier then we would" Puppet replies.
"You know I never really gave immortality a thought until now" Matthew hums.
