Author's Note: Welcome back! Miss me? Thank goodness for stats so I can actually see people are reading otherwise I'd have thought I'm talking to a brick wall. Anyways y'all remember that one scene in episode 17 where Tong Yao fights that girl because of that stupid activity. Let's try and spice it up? By the way, Lu Si Cheng and Tong Yao are not together when the fight happens. Oh and pretend Lu Yue is also at the convention I kind of need him for the plot.

Tong Yao POV:

My team and I were staring at this girl in shock. She could not be serious. This stupid meaningless activity is not worth ruining our hands for. What about our injuries? Ning Jia Qi smugly sat on the couch, threatening to post about us being too precious to participate.

"Are you threatening us?" I glared at her.

"So what, what are you going to do about it." She stood up and stepped closer to me, pushing my shoulder. "Lady you've been in a bad mood since you came in here. I've done nothing to you so you should go shove that attitude elsewhere."

We were standing very close, glaring at each other. My teammates hesitantly stood by and I felt the captain's eyes burning a hole in me. I know I shouldn't instigate a fight, but she was really getting on my nerves.

"All we ask is that you change the activity. We can't afford to get injured as it will put our careers in jeopardy," I said through gritted teeth.

"Oh shut up! Just do the activity and go, you already got the money!"

The girl shoved me hard and I tripped over the chair behind me. I was able to grab the pillar behind me to prevent a fall.

"What the hell was that for?"

Adrenaline was coursing through my body and I stepped forward pushing the girl down. She slammed to the ground, yelling as she immediately tried standing up. The showgirls rushed to hold her back as my teammates pulled me back. How dare she push me? In all the commotion, Lu Si Cheng had gone to stand off to the side. His arms were crossed as he analyzed the scene before him. I was struggling to free myself as Xiao Rui and Fatty were holding me back, attempting to calm me down. Ning Jia Qi had managed to escape from the showgirls' hold and was powering forward with a hand raised. She was about to walk right past our captain when he reached out, grabbing her wrist and stilling the room to a stop.

"Are you done or not?" She stared at him before sighing and pulling her arm back, resigning to standing with her arms crossed.

If a pressure cooker and I were in a competition I'd be the first to burst right now. I shrugged off my teammates and was about to take a step forward to leave the room to cool off my anger. Unfortunately, as soon as my foot took a step I felt a sharp pain rise in my ankle and stumbled. I grabbed onto Fatty who was the closest.

"Tong Yao?" He asked.

Lao Mao quickly picked up my chair that had been knocked over as Xiao Rui and Fatty had me sit down.

"Guys I'm fine look." I tried standing up again, but fell back into the chair as the pain in my ankle was actually unbearable.

Lu Si Cheng stepped forward as I was massaging my ankle. Everyone watched silently as he knelt down in front of me trying to take my shoe off.

"Leader I'm fine. Really, it's nothing," I tried grabbing his hand, but he grabbed mine instead.

"Tong Yao, let me check."

I sighed and sat up straight as I let him look. As he removed the boot my teammates had surrounded him. They gasped and I looked down to see what they were seeing. My ankle had swollen and was bruised like an Iris flower. Lu Si Cheng squinted at my ankle before turning around.

"Lu Yue, grab the first-aid kit." He ran off to get it.

"Xiao Rui."

"Yes Cheng-ge?"

"Cancel the event. Tell the club a member is injured and we can't proceed." He immediately nodded and stepped into the hallway to make a call.

Ning Jia Qi started to protest, but Lu Si Cheng cut her off.

"You realize Tong Yao is injured because of you? Do you want the public to know you're a toddler who can't take no for an answer and instead uses bodily harm to get their way?" That shut her up.

In the meantime, Lu Yue returned with the kit and opened it up on the table for our captain. He had me lift my leg to rest on the table in front of us. Lu Si Cheng took out a roll of elastic bandages that he used to wrap my ankle. Then, he took a cold pack out and held it against the ankle.

"I can hold it myself." I reached forward, but Lao K held my shoulders preventing me from moving.

"Stay there, you're injured. Let us help you." Lu Si Cheng continued to apply the cold pack as I leaned back into the seat.

"Do you guys have anything left to say?" Lu Yue questioned Ning Jia Qi and the showgirls.

She just grumbled as she left the room. The showgirls bowed and profusely apologized before rushing after the lady. Meanwhile, Xiao Rui came back in.

"How bad is it?"

"Should be fine after some rest. No walking though." Lu Si Cheng stared pointedly at me.

"I don't see a portable ride nearby, do you expect me to fly around?"

He stayed silent for a moment as he thought.

"Xiao Rui?"

"Yes leader?"

"We have a back exit don't we?"

"Yes?"

"Would you mind having the driver bring the bus back there, and try to keep the fans away."

"Of course!"

"And Tong Yao for you," he said standing up and handing the cold pack to Lao K.

"What? You're going to leave me here?" Our teammates stared at him, clearly curious to see what he had up his sleeve with the sly smile he had on his face.

"Lao K help me real quick. Tong Yao I need you to stand for a second."

"Ah?"

Before I knew it Lao K and Lu Si Cheng were each on my sides holding my arms. I was leaning against the captain to avoid pressure on the left foot. Lu Si Cheng bent down a little and suddenly scooped me up in his arms. Instinctively, I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing? Put me down!"

"Can you walk?"

"Obviously not."

"Then I'll be your portable ride till you can." He adjusted me in his arms as he gestured with a nod for the teammates to get going. They snickered, amused at our captain's antiques as we walked out, Xiao Rui holding the door for us.

"Cheng-ge finally learned how to treat a woman," Fatty joked as the teammates walked behind us.

"I can just imagine the fans if they were to see this scene," Lao Mao laughed.

"I can't wait to show mom," Lu Yue pulled out his phone.

Lu Si Cheng POV:

Tong Yao snuggled into my jacket, probably to prevent Lu Yue from photographing her. Adorable.

"Lu Yue if my hands are full right now that doesn't mean I won't throw a slipper at you later," I called back.

I heard him grumbling, but knew he put the phone away as Tong Yao lifted her head to check and relaxed in my arms. It was amazing having her this close. I could smell the strawberry shampoo from her hair and it was driving me crazy. I was waiting to confess to her, but I had to be sure she liked me back. From what I've been noticing, she did. The rosy tiny on her cheeks- that definitely wasn't from the makeup as I was there when it was done- was enough evidence to show she was feeling the same tension I was. We reached the exit and I felt her grip tighten my jacket. Her delicate fingers tickled against the nape of my neck.

"Anyone out there?"

Lao K immediately stepped forward as I asked to take a glance. He looked back and shook his head, holding the door open wider for us. We boarded the bus and I had Tong Yao sit by the window seat and raise her leg on the seat next to her. I told Xiao Pang to take my seat, which he happily obliged to with excitement to sit at the front. I had Lu Yue take the seat where God Ming usually sat and took the back seat across from Tong Yao. Once everyone was seated, Lao K turned around and handed me the cold pack. I nodded him a thanks as I leaned forward a little, holding the pack against Tong Yao's ankle. She just stared at me. She gave up protesting and decided to just accept the kind treatment.

"Cheng-ge your future wife will be so jealous of Tong Yao for all the care you're showering her with," Lao K joked.

"I didn't know people could be jealous of themselves," I smirked.

It took a moment for my teammates to process what I hadjust said as they snapped their heads back to look at me. I looked up to see Tong Yao staring at me with widened eyes. The same eyes I fell for. Oh, she's so pretty.

"Cheng-ge, what do you mean?" Lao Mao asked. Clueless as always.

The rest focused their gaze on him.

"Mao Mao, are you sure you can play the next match with that thick head of yours?" Lao K said.

"What's wrong with a thick head?"

Everyone laughed at him, forgetting about the comment I made. Not Tong Yao though, who was actively averting her gaze from me. The bus stopped in front of the base as everyone got off, our teammates grabbing Tong Yao's bag along with mine. I carried her in my arms again as we climbed down from the bus. Our teammates kept stealing glances, clearly not getting enough of the view. Tong Yao's arms were against my chest, not grabbing on to anything.

"You should grab on tightly. Wouldn't want you to fall off the ride now would we?"

"Oh."

Hesitantly, she put her arms around my neck, turning her head to look forward rather than at my body. Understandable. I was too hot.

God Ming opened the door to let us in, his gaze locking on us two.

"Well, that's a sight for sore eyes," he chuckled.

I had Tong Yao settle onto the couch, putting one of the cushions under her foot as I sat at the other end. Our teammates stood in a half circle around us.

"Right." God Ming stared at Tong Yao's injury. "Care to explain what happened?"

The team started filling him in as I iced Tong Yao's ankle, occasionally adding a few words to the conversation. Just as they finished, Tong Yao's phone rang. She picked it up and immediately pulled it back as Jin Yang yelled through the phone. I overheard her saying to go on Weibo and watch someone's livestream. After hanging up, Tong Yao opened up a livestream. She held the phone out as the team moved over to stand behind the couch for a better view. The phone was tilted so I could also see. On the screen, was Ning Jia Qi, obviously fake crying.

"Thank you all for the concern. I'm fine now, really. I've been treated." She continued to cry as a man stood up in the background and came over to hand her a tissue.

"All I did was remind her the organizer hired them all to perform. With your love and support I will recover soon. Thank you." The clip ended as we all stared dumbfounded at the screen.

"She has an explosive temper."

"I knew she was crazy. There's no way a female could be an e-sports player."

"ZGDX really recruited her just to get in the news."

"We finally see the 'innocent mid's true colors. ZGDX has lost the trophy once again."

Tong Yao read out the hate comments. I snatched her phone and deleted the app.

"Tong Yao is the one injured! That girl is lying to the fans!" Fatty complained.

"This is getting out of hand the club has to make a statement. Most of the public is on Ning Jia Qi's side we need a way to flip this." Xiao Rui furrowed his eyebrows, unsure how to handle the situation.

Suddenly Lu Yue started laughing.

"Lu Yue what's so funny. You can't seriously be laughing in the middle of a serious conversation," Lao Mao said.

"I'm laughing because the ball is in our court." He bent over trying to stifle his laughter, but failing to do so.

"Lu Yue quit it. Explain yourself." I glared at him.

He held up his phone.

"I recorded the whole thing. Look." He pulled up the video and handed the phone to me.

The clip showed Ning Ji Qia shoving Tong Yao first, her tripping, and then retaliating. It showed everything up until I sat down to check her injury, revealing the fresh state of the bruise. Ning Ji Qia was shown standing perfectly fine in the corner.

"Lu Yue you've proven yourself to be useful today," Fatty said, staring in awe.

"Your camera skills for once, are helpful," Lao K added.

"Lu Yue send me the clip. I can use this to have the club protect us. In the mean time, none of you go look at the comments online. Wait for it to clear up," Xiao Rui said.

Xiao Rui went out to deal with the club as the rest of us stood in silence. Tong Yao shifted trying to stand up as I caught her leg and Fatty her shoulders, preventing her from leaving the couch.

"Tong Yao just tell us what you need," I said.

"Yeah Tong Yao. Until you're fully recovered none of us will allow you to move," Lu Yue added.

She sighed before saying, "I'm hungry."

"No wonder our mid is grumbly. Xiao Pang order us all food before she eats us alive," Lao K joked.

She glared at him as he held his hands up in defense.

"I think this is the perfect time to take a nap. Wake me up when the food is here," Lao Mao said as he went upstairs to his room.

"I'm going to also." Xiao Pang pointed after Lao Mao and rushed out of there.

The rest of the team shook their heads as everyone dispersed to different areas of the base leaving just Tong Yao and I on the couch.

"Do you want to rest to?" She thought for a moment before responding.

"Might as well. Guess I'll take the princess treatment while it lasts." She smiled.

I chuckled as I lifted her up again, taking her to her room. I lay her on the bed and carefully tucked her in the soft, pink blanket.

"Hm."

"What happened?" She turned on her side to look at me.

"I don't trust you to stay put. I'm staying in your room."

"Ah?"

I sat down on the ground.

"Pass me a pillow will you?"

"I can't have the leader sleep on the floor of my room! Get in bed," She said before covering her mouth, realizing what she just said.

"I mean you can sleep on the side. We'll have pillows in between." She immediately put one next to her and turned to look at me.

"Are you sure? Tong Yao I'm completely fine. i don't want you to be uncomfortable." I stared into her eyes, curious at what she was thinking.

"Don't worry about it. I trust you." She gestured for me to get in.

I carefully slipped into the side of her bed, the only thing separating us was the big, white pillow. She threw over half her blanket so it was covering us both. I lay staring at the ceiling, one arm under my head and the other on my chest. Tong Yao's back was facing me as she slept on her side. I listened closely to her light snores. She must've been exhausted to fall asleep this fast. As much as I tried to blink the sleep away, my eyes betrayed me and I fell asleep.

Xiao Pang POV:

The food had arrived and everyone was gathered in the kitchen. I went to get Tong Yao and Cheng-ge so they could join us to eat. Opening the door to Tong Yao's room, I froze at the sight before me. Our mid and leader were in the same bed practically hugging each other. Tong Yao's head and hands rested on Lu Si Cheng's chest as his arms were wrapped around her. OMG!

I quickly ran downstairs and probably slammed the door loud enough to wake them up. I nearly tripped and was panting, unable to say anything to the curiously gazing teammates. Instead, everyone rushed upstairs and I joined them. Lu Yue was the first to reach our mid's door and shut it after immediately opening it, his face frozen in shock.

"What's wrong?" Lao Mao asked.

Neither Lu Yue nor I could utter anything about the sight we saw.

Lu Si Cheng POV:

I woke up to find Tong Yao resting on my chest. The close proximity nearly had my heart beat out of my chest and I had to slow my breathing to not wake up the precious girl on me. I heard my team members calling my name outside. I thought of a way to extract myself from this situation, but Tong Yao ended up stirring. She woke up and we stared at each other. Xiao Rui yelled my name again snapping us back into our senses as Tong Yao sat up and I rushed to the door. Carefully, I cracked it open and stepped outside, shutting it behind me. My teammates all looked at me smiling.

"Cheng-ge, why are you in our mid's room?" Fatty wiggled his eyebrows.

They were all huddled together like cats trying to get to one bowl of milk in front of them. I crossed my arms, trying to maintain a confident stance.

"You saw yourselves how she wouldn't sit still. You can't honestly expect her to be left alone now can you?"

"Cheng-ge, were you just watching over her?" God Ming asked.

I glanced at the door behind me, trying to imagine what Tong Yao would be doing inside.

"Firstly, keep it down since she's still resting." The team gasped. "Secondly, a nap can do no harm. Anymore questions?"

"Leader you can't act like this she's the only female on our team. This won't do, bring her out.," Xiao Rui said.

"How?" I innocently questioned.

"Brother you snuck into a young girl's room. Mom will be so surprised to hear that you actually like humans," Lu Yue teased.

"She's graduated from a university and is above eighteen." I glared at him.

"That's not the point," Xiao Pang said.

"That's really not the point," Lao K added.

"Then what's the point?" Lao Mao asked.

The team stared at him, momentarily forgetting the situation at hand.

"Let's go, before it gets too awkward," Lao K laughed.

The team headed downstairs as Xiao Pang reminded me once more that the food was here. I sighed and headed back into the room, stopping at Tong Yao's stare.

"What did they say?" She was covering herself with the blanket.

"They saw us in bed."

"Ah?!" Her eyes widened. "You pervert!"

I stared at her in shock.

"Who was the one cuddled up on my chest?" I glared at her.

She scratched her head, not knowing what to say. I found her cute in her awkwardness.

"Forget it, let's go." Before I could react, she swung her legs down from the bed and tried to stand again before falling back into the matress.

"Can you quit doing that?" I rushed over, helping her sit back up steadily.

"My bad, it's a habit."

I sighed and kneeled down in front of her, my back facing her.

"Get on?"

"What?"

"I'll give you a piggyback ride downstairs now get on.

"Oh."

She wrapped her legs around my waist and crossed her arms around my neck. I stood up bouncing her up to secure her in my grip. We headed downstairs as our teammates snickered at us, not yet over the scene they saw.

"The club should be releasing a statement along with the clip tomorrow morning. Tong Yao rest assured, the club recognizes that what you did was in self-defense." She nodded in response to Xiao Rui.

Tong Yao POV:

I was relieved. I thought for sure I was a goner and was going to be suspended. Thank goodness for Lu Yue. We all joked around now that we were relaxed. The team kept teasing the captain and I. Fatty even went as far as asking if the captain would keep night duty for me. We stared at each other awkwardly and I saw a pink tint in his cheeks showing he was just as embarrassed as me. Luckily, God Ming smacked him over the head although he himself was also enjoying the teasing. Lu Si Cheng leaned back in his chair, smirking at all the attention.

"I will turn you into a slave if you try and keep night duty. Stay away from my room tonight or I won't hesitate to bite," I whispered to him.

"What are you two whispering over there?" Fatty caught us.

"Nothing."

Lu Si Cheng just laughed. We all went to bed late that night after the whole team basically dropped me off to my room to ensure I'd be alone. The next morning, I woke up to my phone buzzing. It was Jin Yang.

"Girl are you okay? I saw the clip and the bruise looked pretty bad, do I need to come over?"

"No no, I'm fine. The team is taking good care of me."

"I saw from the way Lu Si Cheng looked at you in the video. You two haven't hooked up yet have you?"

"Jin Yang! It's too early for this, I'm hanging up!" I was blushing.

"Alright alright, take a chill pill. I'll stop by to check on you later."

Just as I hung up I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in!"

"Would you like to have breakfast m'lady?" Lao Mao had entered the room.

I giggled at his silly words. He told me everyone was downstairs and they sent him to get me. They didn't want Cheng-ge to get 'trapped' in my room again. Lao Mao carried me downstairs, mindful of my ankle as he set me down in the chair next to Lu Si Cheng.

"Sleep okay?"

"Sure."

"Tong Yao, the clip was released and here's the statement if you haven't seen it yet." God Ming, who was sitting on my other side, handed me his phone.

The statement read, "Hello, this is ZGDX management. Yesterday an incident happened with one of our team members and many rumors have come forth about it. We are releasing this clip and notice to assure our fans that our member, Tong Yao aka Smiling, acted out of self-defense. She has suffered an injury in protecting her teammates and we wish her a speedy recovery. We do not stand against defamation and abuse for any of our members and will be pressing charges against the assailant. Please continue to support us and understand things from every perspective before speaking on it. We ask that you all maintain a positive online community. Thank you, ZGDX management."

"Wait, we're pressing charges?" I asked.

"Thanks to our leader! My brother barely held it in yesterday, but when Ning Jia Qi tried to do a fake sob story to defame you on the internet Lu Si Cheng lost it and forced the club to take more severe action. Ning Jia Qi had no clue the whole thing was recorded otherwise she would've never gone this far. She risked everything for a little bit of popularity." Lue Yue explained.

I glanced at Lu Si Cheng who just shrugged, but was slightly smiling.

"Thank you all. I'll definitely take this chance to rest though. In fact," I said turning my gaze to Xiao Rui. "Don't you think my livestream hours should be cut down?"

"I-uh," Xiao Rui stammered.

"Done," Lu Si Cheng replied for him.

"Huh?!" The team was shook.

"I'll talk to my mom and she'll convince the club. You take all the rest you need."

I was pleased with myself and continued to enjoy my breakfast. Over the nezt few days, my teammates did everything and didn't allow me to set a foot on the ground. After a week, we had a match and I was able to walk by then, but Lu Si Cheng insisted on carrying me around. It was only when we left the base did he stop, but my teammates always stood by holding my arms to steady my walk. I was ever grateful and extremely lucky to have such great team members.

The End.

That's enough it's nearly 2AM I have got to stop writing so late, but my brain doesn't work at any other time. I think practically all of these chapters have been written late in the day. Tomorrow I'm going to work on my assignments hopefully so you all have to wait. Let me know your thoughts on this! Thanks for reading angels❤️❤️
