I am having writer's block on this story. I am so sorry. I have the next two (Maybe) chapters written and then I'm going to pause for just a little bit to write out the rest. I am so sorry for the hiatus that I'm going to be taking on this. It shouldn't take that long to write it once I get going again though, I promise. I have three other fics written in the meantime that I'll post. I'm also writing a little in-between story for before the boys started school that I'm writing for y'all.

Super short chapter. I'm sorry. Please don't kill me.

Chapter Fourteen

Sirius groaned as he opened his eyes, reaching up and rubbing his head where a headache was pounding behind his eyes. He could hear voices (angry) and crying (desperate) around him before he opened his eyes. Remus and Andy were screaming at Albus and Severus a few feet away, Aster standing close and looking as if he'd just stopped his yelling, his face red in anger. Harry was holding a baby against his chest, whispering softly and staring at Sirius. The crying was coming from his left and he turned, seeing Hermione and Sissy beside him, gripping onto Lucius and Draco, both of whom had tears streaming down their own faces.

Sirius caught Adeline's name escaping Remus' mouth and he sat up suddenly, wondering what had happened this time. He stood, ignoring Poppy as she tried telling him to lay back down.

"What's happened?" he demanded, eyes on Severus.

"Adeline gave herself over to The Dark Lord for information on how to heal you," Severus told him.

"She what?!" Sirius screamed the answer.

"And The Dark Lord gave her to Fenrir Greyback and his pack. This was three weeks ago. He only just announced it a last night," Severus continued on.

Sirius stumbled backwards, landing on his previously vacated bed heavily.

"She's alive," Remus growled out. "I would know if she weren't. I would have felt it."

"She may be alive but she may also wish she weren't," Albus said, voice gravely.

"We need to go and get her."

Andy's voice seemed off and Sirius stared at her for a long moment before realization set in.

"Bella," he whispered her name, causing her to turn to him.

"Siri," she whispered back before she turned her glare back on Albus. "I'm going. It's my manor now that the other Lestrange's are dead. The wards will allow me in without announcement. I can at least try to find her."

"That isn't safe," Severus whispered to her.

"I don't care," Bella hissed out. "I am not leaving her there."

Bella turned, stepping through the floo and out of sight. Severus seemed on edge with Bella in the room but even more on edge with her gone. Sirius was wondering what all he'd missed before Harry sat beside him.

"Who's this?" Sirius asked him, voice soft.

"Carolyn Hope," Harry told him. "Mum had her before showing up at the ministry to save all of us. You've been out of it for a while."

"I saw your father," Sirius told him, causing everyone in the room to stare at him with wide eyes. "When I fell into the veil. He helped push me back through. Your mother was there, as well as my brother. Mattheo Reynolds and Dorcas, too. After that, it's all dark. How was Bella here?"

"Mum fixed her. Voldemort was poisoning her for the past almost twenty years," Aster provided, voice rough as he stood in front of the pair, eyes remaining on his baby sister the entire time. "She healed Neville's parents before healing Aunt Bella and then leaving."

"She didn't say goodbye," Harry whispered out.

Sirius took a ragged breath before placing his hand on Harry's shoulder and giving it a gently squeeze.

"I'm sure she wanted to," he whispered. "Adie doesn't always think things through. She always has a back-up plan, though. As your dad said, she isn't dead. He would have felt it. We'll get her back."

Bella returned a few hours later, rubbing her eyes tiredly. Sirius was released to Remus' care as long as he promised to take his potions and check in every day. Sirius agreed immediately before the kids, Remus, Sirius, and Severus flooed to Hathor cottage. Bella flooed into the cottage once the kids were all in bed, Andy, Ted, and Tonks following along behind her.

"Any news?" Remus asked, looking tired as he rubbed his chest.

"There are wards around the forest holding Adeline and Greyback's pack in and keeping everything else out. Not even other creatures," Bella sighed as she sat beside Severus.

"Wards?" Sirius asked, staring at Bella curiously. "Can you take me?"

"Yeah," she nodded, standing. "Let's go to the apparition point outside. Anyone else?"

"I'm coming," Remus nodded as Severus also stood.

"We'll stay here in case the kids wake up," Andy promised.

Bella apparated with Sirius and Severus first before leaving and returning with Remus. She led them through the wards one at a time, being sure to hold onto them until they were each passed the wards so that the wards would recognize them and not alert anyone in the house. She led them to the wards and Sirius waved his wand, sighing before he got to work.

"Orion taught me quite a bit about warding and I worked with an Unspeakable for a month after auror training who specialized in wards," Sirius explained as he worked. "These are extensive. It's going to take time and I'll need some help."

"I specialized in runes," Remus offered.

"Arithmancy and potions," Severus spoke up.

"I also studied arithmancy and potions," Bella stated, hands on her hips as she glared at the wards.

The group worked for the next few hours before calling it a day and going back to Hathor cottage. For the next week, the four continued working together. The night of the full moon, Remus took his potions, sitting outside the wards while the others continued working. His wolf was restless, able to feel Adeline was close by but unable to hear or see anything pass the wards. The sun rose and Remus turned back, dressing quickly and continuing to help with the wards, his chest aching painfully as he felt Adeline's fear and depression coming through.
