I have to say, I give my respect, Props, credit and appreciation to all those fanfic writers who have the energy and creative drive to do this on a regular basis. I hope you all liked chapter 2, I know I did. Also, I am sorry if there are grammatical errors here and there, but I have to tell you that I am doing the best I can, working alone. Hope my work makes up for it.
So this chapter-without giving out too much info-is just the starting point of my crazy story. It has elements of episode 1 of MHA. Hope you like and -

Chapter 3-Welcome to the City of Musutafu, Japan
Nemuri Kayama a.k.a Midnight has always considered herself a fine teacher and hero. She may not be in the top 10 but she has always done her fair share to protect the people of Musutafu, one good deed at a time. She always wanted to be a hero, ever since she was a child, when her quirk finally activated. She was however ostracized for the nature of her quirk and the conditions of it, coming from a prestigious background; she was always considered the black sheep of the herd. However that did not stop her dreams of being a Pro Hero.
She at times wished for simple things in life, such as a family and kids to call her own. Yes, Nemuri always had a soft spot for children, whether a baby or a teen, she always had this motherly energy in her. Her friends would agree on that point, as they would be at the other end of her somewhat lectures and fussing from when they were in high-school. Dating has not always been a breeze for her, at times she could date but finding a man who was more interested in her, not her body was difficult to say the least.
Alas, she found out earlier in life that due to the nature of her work and inability to have kids, that some dreams were nigh impossible, which crushed her; however it gave her a greater purpose to better protect the weak and vulnerable.
It was around the afternoon when Midnight was making her patrols around a certain area in the East. She was just about to wrap it up for the day when suddenly-
*BOOM*
At a local store, she spotted a crime in progress. There appeared a man that was all muscular and towering at 7 feet, he had a mutant type quirk that gave him the appearance of a gorilla; wearing a tank top and jean trousers. He broke a wall of the building, where a certain man was running out of; probably the owner.
"P-please d-don't hurt me." The man coward in fear on the ground.
"WHAT?! I WANTED TO MAKE THIS FAST AND GET OUT BUT I GUESS I WILL NEED A HOSTAGE!" Reaching out his hand to grab the owner, but retracted upon being whipped.
"WHAT THE HELL! WHO DID THAT?!" He exclaimed while turning his eyes to the culprit.
Midnight retracted her whip as she stood at a fighting pose.
"Stop villain. Surrender now and no one has to get hurt!" She commanded.
"Oh look here, it's the dame herself. Sorry babe, but I will call you when I need some punishment." He said that with a disgusting smirk that made Midnight angry.
"Okay, you want a punishment? Here!" She said.
Midnight raced over to the man, with a few flips, jumping in to the air and delivering a flying kick to the face of the man. The man stumbled back a few feet, until he regained his bearings looking pissed. Midnight was still on guard for what was coming. The villain went on the offence, swing punch after punch, to knock the 18 rated Hero down but she was holding her own with blocks and return swipes of her own. With added style and grace, but keeping her distance, so she may not be taken down so easily. When the villain gave a punch that instead cracked the ground that Midnight once was, she used his arm to flip out, giving a little bit of distance between them, to finally finish him.
She tore off her skin suit on either arm, then as she activated her quirk, she used her fans to blow the fumes right the villain. She stood there tired, catching her breath at the prospects that this will be over, that is until-
Dashing out of the fumes with a hand over his mouth and nose, the man gave a backhand that knocked Midnight of her feet and barreling on to the streets; though she was not knocked out, she was in some pain. He strode over to the injured hero.
"Sorry but I was not going to go down that easy. I think it's time I put you down." Launching at her with a strong arm, aiming to punch.
Midnight was still hurt, not knowing what to do; she braced for impact and hoped for the best. A bounding sound was heard but no damage was inflicted upon her, not understanding what was going on, she raised her head to view the situation. At that moment, she was equal parts shocked and scared, for she laid eyes upon a little girl…a blonde haired girl, not older looking than 16, in a blue dress; holding up a force field that was now protecting them both.
"Oh another brat came out to play. Well kid, I hope your parents have said their goodbyes." Saying that, his strikes became stronger, but Bubbles was pouring all her strength in to it, not caring that she was becoming exhausted.
"Little girl, why are doing this? You have to leave or else he will kill you!" Midnight exclaimed, fearing for the unknown girl's life rather than her own.
"S-sorry, but…I have to distract him for just a bit longer." Bubbles said, with a stutter.
"Distraction? What distraction?!" Midnight exclaimed again, this time also confused. At that time, the field seemed to be getting weak.
"Well you sure are a tough cookie, but it's time to end this-" Before he could say a word in, Midnight witnessed a green blur that struck the villain. It gave the man a right hook that sent the man flying backwards in to the store he once robbed.
The civilians that were still around to witness this were shocked at what just happened. What stood was another girl with raven black hair and a green dress, giving a tense stance as if reeling for a fight. But from certain people's keen eye, they could tell that she was masking her exhaustion as well.
Bubbles upon seeing that the plan was going well, collapsed to her knees, cancelling the barrier. Midnight, regaining her bearings, also tried to stop the other girl from the danger. "You girl, you have to take your sister here and run away! Leave this to the professionals!" She said.
Buttercup turned head to the woman and with a determined gaze and said, "Sorry lady, but we don't usual run away from fights, especially meat heads like him", and Midnight wanted to interject but heard another voice behind her. This time she had red fiery hair, a pink dress and a bow that tied up her hair in to a ponytail.
"She's right. Because we are the Powerpuff and we don't back down from saving people." Blossom said.
At that moment, the villain busted out of the store looking pissed. He saw red as he ran over like a raging bull.
"Now Buttercup!" Blossom yelled, as if to signal her. Which it was.
The mutant quirk user swung his arm straight at the girls face, but with a steady gaze, she countered the attack by squatting down, grabbed on to his arm and using the momentum of the attack tossed him with enough strength; aiming at Blossom.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! NO, GET OUT OF THE WAY!" running off to try and save the girl, she was not able to make it in time; but witnessed the next scene in awe.
Blossom, with a fearless gaze, took a deep breath; and just when the villain was just where she wanted him, released her breath and cold winds enveloped the man till he turned to an ice sculptor. Successfully trapping him in an ice cube.
'Who are these girls, they managed to take down a villain with ease, granted not as notorious but even so. They seem to be adept to this sort of thing, not being from here; any citizen would be aware of not freely using quirks without a license. And though they seem really strong, I wonder-" her train of thought was interrupted when sirens were heard all around, with officers holding up guns straight at…the girls.
The girls were about to protest, till one by one, they all collapsed till Blossom was left standing, till she too was overcame by her exhaustion; only held up by Midnight, right on time.
Midnight called for the officers to put their weapons and stand down, to which they reluctantly complied. She looked over the girl, hoping she was fine and by the looks of it, it was just complete exhaustion that each of them were fallen to.
'I hope that these girls are truly on our side, for something tells me that they are stronger than they seem' she thought to herself, while gazing upon each girl until her eyes stopped at the red-haired and her small pink satchel bag.
Central Hospital
In a hospital room, one by one the girls awakened from their slumber. They awoke to set their eyes on blinding bright white light and the faint sound of news broadcasting from a flat screen TV mounted on wall.
"What's going on? Where are we?" Bubbles asked herself. Looking around she could identify that she was in a hospital room that had 4 beds; one was empty and occupying the 2 other beds were her slowly awakening sisters.
"Blossom, Buttercup! Are you guys okay?" Bubbles asked, worrying that they might be hurt.
"Yeah Bubbles, I am just a little bit tired." Blossom sounded out with a groggy nod from Buttercup.
Bubbles was glad that neither her or her sisters were seriously injured.
"But it begs the question of how long and why we ended up in the hospital?" Blossom questioned.
But before any of them could try to piece together their jumbled memories, Buttercup called for their attention
"I think the lady will give us an idea. Take a look!" Buttercup signaled them to the TV screen. What appeared on the screen was a short clip of the girls fighting mutant. "Bubbles, turn up the volume" motioning to Bubbles being the closest to the remote, used it to increase the volume of the news.
"…yes, bystanders were in shock at the commotion that would have befallen upon the Pro-hero Midnight if it wasn't for these strange girls that basically showed up out of nowhere and assisted in subduing the criminal. The situation only happened 2 days ago but people are still wondering who these girls are to risk their well-being like that; especially identified as not registered heroes. We have a comment from the Chief of police, Kenji Tsuragamae, who was present when everything settled." The screen changed to the Chief.
"Well I can thank these girls for saving the day; however I cannot pardon their reckless misuse of their quirks without being registered first. So far these girls are unknown and seem to have done a good deed but they are also unknown to either be concerned citizens or fame seekers; that I will stand for. They are presently in the hospital as we speak seeing as they collapsed from exhaustion and we will do a full inspection once they are free." The man concluded before being switched back to the news woman.
"Well said Police Chief, at the end of the day, civilians should take a lesson from this and remember that hero work is not a game and we should not just jump in to situations that do not concern us or risk putting us or others in harm's way. It all ended well in the end but what are on some people's minds, are who are these unknown vigilante; are they on our side or do they reckless fame seek-"
It was then that the TV was turned off by Bubbles, not wanting to hear any more stuff about them. But it did leave some girls puzzled and others a bit miffed.
"2 DAYS!?" All the girls blurted out, thrown for a loop.
"This is so not good." Blossom said.
"Well that was a LOAD OF BULLSHIT! We were well past exhausted trying to save that hero and civilians, successfully if we may say and they have the nerve to call it reckless!" Buttercup exclaimed, with no other sister trying to argue or chastise her vulgar language.
"Guys what did she mean by quirks?" Bubbles asked in confusion.
"I think that's how they refer to powers here. And I for one agree with you Buttercup. But where ever we are, they don't take kindly to strangers using their quirks." Blossom said.
"Basically this reminds me of Citiesville but with color." Buttercup quipped.
"The man also said misuse of quirks. Does it mean powers are restricted and using it is a crime?" Bubbles asked, concerned.
"Well that's a load of b-" Buttercup was cutoff before she could finish.
"Buttercup!" She took deep breathe, "Bubbles I don't know, but what I do know that where ever HIM transported us, we clearly need answers to what or where this place is exactly."
As if on cue, the door opened, with their answers walking in. At first, they assumed that the official had finally come in to question them. But, the visitor at the door was way different. Well, visitors. There were two of them.
The person looked strange. If it was a person. It (or he) looked humanoid, standing on two legs and dressed in a rather formal outfit. But the weird thing was that its breed was either one of 3 things. A white mouse, a dog, or a bear. Maybe even all of the above.
The lady next to him looked familiar to the girls but could not be placed. She had long thick spiky dark purple hair, which was made up of layers of varying lengths, the longest ones reaching down below her waist. Her chin-length bangs were split into three sections; two swept to the sides and one over her face, going diagonally down to the left between her eyes. She also had a small beauty mark below her left eye, as well as red-painted nails. It was the clothes automatically made the girls blush slightly from the memory.
Her hero costume was very similar to one of a traditional dominatrix. She wore a breastless, black leather leotard—similar in style to a corset—over a thin, skin-tight, white bodysuit, which accentuated her voluptuous figure. The center strip of her leotard was embellished with red gemstone-like accessories in a vertical pattern, extending from her collar to her midriff. She also wore translucent, black, thigh-high garter stockings, which were attached to a burgundy utility belt decorated with gold studs around her hips, a matching pentagonal buckle in its center, and black knee-boots. She had a small red mask outlining her eyes, and a handcuff on each wrist.
As the pair walked in, the girls, despite their manners (with the exception of Buttercup), couldn't help but stare at them (Bubbles couldn't stop staring at the fuzzy mouse person due to his sheer adorableness).
"Hello girls, you all seem to be doing better this morning." The mouse person spoke in a cheery tone.
The girls stared even more, surprised that the mouse guy could talk (now Bubbles was in awe because of how cute the mouse's voice was). After a few seconds, the mouse gave a quick cough, to break the girls out of their states.
"I see you girls are not used to talking animals before." He said with a small smile.
The girls collectively remembered that they use to own a talking dog before. But this was way weirder.
Blossom was not really ready and so were the others, for they do not know anyone here and these 2 could very well be dangerous. So she kept an eye on them all while on guard.
'Hmm, it seems that this red haired girl must be the leader and judging by her alert stance, she must not trust us. Well we can't very well blame, can I?' Nemuri thought to herself, and as if he could read her mind, Nezu spoke.
"Very well girls, I see that you are not from here and that in itself can warrant more questions. We were called here to talk to you about the rules and regulations of Quirk misuse. But due to the uneasiness of the present situation, how about a deal?" Nezu spoke, making the girls intrigued.
Blossom finally spoke. "What sort of deal?" while maintaining her guard.
The mouse person begun to speak "We will answer your questions. But in return, you have to answer some of our questions. Deal?"
The girls hesitated. They were still on the defense, seeing as they were in a strange place with no way home and these people are willing to answer their pressing questions. Only if they answer theirs, which seemed like a really good deal. If they get to ask questions, maybe the Powerpuff Girls could try and understand more of the mess of a reality they were in. Or at the very least, know exactly what Quirks are or why there are laws that prohibit them.
"You… won't judge us based on what questions we ask? You'll just answer them truthfully and that's it?" Blossom finally asked.
The woman nodded. "As long as you do the same for us."
Blossom looked to her sisters, who glanced at her and nodded. Finally, she answered on the behalf of her and her sisters.
"Okay. Deal. But, we get to go first."
Instead of looking insulted by Blossom's demands, the mouse mused.
"Alright, alright. What do you want to know?"
Before Blossom could get a word in, Bubbles piped up.
"Who are you guys? Also, why do you look so cute, fuzzy and able to talk?!" Bubbles squealed.
Blossom looked at her, seeing the second question as a rude thing to say. "Bubbles!"
The mouse, meanwhile, laughed again.
"Straight to the point, are we? Well, I'll answer. My name is Nezu, and this non-fuzzy person I'm with is Nemuri."
As her name was mentioned, Nemuri smiled and gave her greetings.
"As for your second question, I suppose I'm rather cute and fuzzy. I've been told that a lot. It's a long story, though. For another time." Nezu continued while smiling politely. But Bubbles could sense a deep pain within him that she might want to check out later.
Buttercup then spoke up, directing her question to Nemuri.
"Why are you dressed like that?"
Blossom was more embarrassed than mad at that time, yes, that was not somewhat of a interesting question but one needed to be asked.
Nemuri nodded with a small smile and began to speak.
"Well my hero name is Midnight but my civilian name is Nemuri Kayama. And the reason I wear this outfit is to properly utilize my powers as it needs exposed skin and this material is break away. This outfit is basically symbolizes my inner hero and makes use of assets." she said with a wryly smile.
The girls were equal parts intrigued, confused and red in the face at this information.
Blossom after shaking off the red from her face, raised her hand, "I guess I'll ask the questions that all three of us are wondering." As she says this, she casts glares at her sister, "Why are we in trouble?"
Nezu nodded, a little grateful that she asked an actual question pertaining to the actual topic.
"Well, there are a number of factors. The largest one has to be unauthorized Quirk misuse during the villain attack."
"Well excuse us if we didn't want to sit back and let big and ugly succeed in killing her. But, why is there a law like that in the first place?" Buttercup asked, feeling quite annoyed.
"Please, Buttercup is it? I am really grateful for you girls saving my life back there and I hope you won't take any offence to what we say." Nemuri interjected, which succeeded in diffusing the situation.
Nezu sighed. "It's complicated, really. But for the sake of simplicity, I'll just say the answer is the problem of Hero incidents. You see, we follow through on these types of rules and take them very seriously. Not just for you but for everyone. Especially Heroes."
The girls looked confused at that, especially the Heroes part, which prompted Nezu to continue.
"You know that whenever a Villain is causing mayhem, they cause destruction, right? Well, it's the same for Heroes too. In most, if not all fights before rules like these were in place, the Villain may cause a large amount of destruction. But, as the Hero tries to clean up the mess, they end up making even more of a mess. This comes in the forms of unintentionally destroying parts of the area you're fighting in while you're pursuing the Villain."
"That applies to the villain Attack. Yes, you girls did take initiative, and were willing to help when no one else couldn't. I commend you for that. But, imagine if your plan had gone horribly wrong?"
The girls were quiet. They knew just how easily things could spiral out of control. They knew it from experience. From when the girls were 5 and had just unlocked their powers.
"I understand what you are saying Mr. Nezu, but in that instant, damage was already certain and we did our best to minimalize the disaster. Bubbles was to protect Ms. Midnight and distract the villain, giving cover so that Buttercup could effectively knock it off its balance. Once the villain attacked, she was to use the villain's momentum against him, launching him at me, so I may subdue him without any more need for damage." Blossom concluded her explanation.
Nezu was impressed by the tactical plan that Blossom came up with, clearly they have good teamwork but the law is the law.
"Your planning was well thought out but I have to reiterate that the law is the la-" He was the cut off by one of the girls.
"So what? You just can't use your Quirks at all?" Buttercup asked, her voice not in a challenging tone for once.
Nezu shook his head. "No, no. We strongly encourage those with Quirks to embrace their power. We just have to regulate it so that no one gets hurt from it. If you were to receive a Hero License, then you are free to use your Quirk to an extent. Enough that you can defeat a Villain, but not too much that you go overboard and kill them. After all, what a Hero should do is serve justice. Not commit murder, no matter how justified it is."
The girls were not idiots; they knew that with great power comes with greater responsibility. That is why they chose to spend their days as superheroes, fighting crime and saving people each day. They also knew growing up, that it was so easy to just give in to the power and take whatever they wanted but if it wasn't for their morals, father's guidance and the wonderful environment they grew up in; they too could just as well be the same villains that they fought back then..
Nezu could very well see that the girls were not naïve and understood what was at stake. Not wanting to drabble on too long, he smiled softly and said, "You girls are quite powerful individuals as well as blessed with kind hearts. You have the potential to be great Pro Heroes around here. Do you go to any schools in this area?"
Blossom was caught off guard for a bit but kept her composure. She knew this question was going to come and when she glanced upon her sisters, they could tell that this would be a very delicate territory to walk on.
Still unsure of the situation, but could not sense any lies from the animal, as far as she could tell, she answered, "No. We don't exactly live in this area."
Midnight then softly spoke. "You know what; we were going to ask you about that. Where do you live? We would have called your parents over to discuss your recent actions but we could not locate any information on you 3 in the database. Why don't you please tell us about that girls?"
Once again the girls glanced at one another. They still didn't trust these people fully and even if they did, it would be foolish to tell them everything about themselves; but they must tell them what happened recently.
"You might think we are crazy" Bubbles spoke up.
Instead of proving that though, Nezu simply laced his fingers together and said two simple words. "Try me."
Blossom then looked to her sisters again for their permission, to which they gave with a nod. Then, finally, the girls told Nezu and Nemuri what they deemed fit
Blossom soon told about where they lived and how they were inducted into the profession of Heroes at the age of 5, dubbing themselves as The Powerpuff Girls. About how for 10 years straight, they fought Villains and saved Townsville time and time again. They spoke how, when they were about to leave to another country, they were informed about one of their enemies who they referred to as HIM; was causing mayhem in their town. They leapt in to action. Upon getting there, they fought his bat-like creatures that were threatening to harm people. In their battle, he did a sneak attack and captured Bubbles, in an attempt to corner all of them; to finally destroy us.
Blossom then mentioned about when it seemed they were going to be destroyed, they emitted a new energy that cancelled out HIM's attack and wound up in this place. She purposely didn't mention anything else about their births or powers in detail; as not to give too much away.
Nemuri was bewildered by the explanation of the girls. Not just that they were superheroes at such a young age where they were but of the sort of villain that they face on a day to day basis. She could not tell if the girls were lying, which only made it scarier to think that such evil exists and they fought it. She already knew that these girls were strong but how strong?
As for Nezu, nobody could tell what he thought of the girls' story, even after Blossom finished telling it. His face didn't show any emotions other than a small flicker of unidentified emotion on his face before quickly passing as if it wasn't there at all.
Bubbles could sense that he was rattled with certain emotions, but who could blame him. She decided to ask the question that all 3 girls had on their minds.
"Do you believe us?" She asked.
"Perhaps, you are telling the truth. I know better than to dismiss your firsthand experience. It is certainly jarring to think that you girls, on top of fighting that villain…HIM is it? You managed to have enough energy to take on a battle that you so to act upon without the worry for your safety. But my biggest question would be, where is HIM now?" He asked.
"We don't know. I wish we did. But we've been here for 2 days, knocked out apparently. And we don't remember if that creep came in to this place with us or not" Buttercup spoke up.
Nezu nodded in understanding, his brow furrowed in deep thought.
"This is quite troubling indeed. For if a being of that great power could open a vortex, it is concerning to say the least. And the fact that we don't know if he arrived with you girls or not is also alarming." Nezu said.
The girls hesitated. What will they do? This was serious, for they had no way home and the fact that they neither know if HIM was transported with them was an unnerving possibility on its own. Though the girls could not admit it, they were now shaken by HIM's ploy to destroy them and if it wasn't for their lucky stars and the new move they did; it would have ended badly.
Just then, Nezu looked towards Nemuri, while speaking again to the girls.
"How about you let me and Nemuri talk about it for a few moments? You girls can stay here."
The girls looked confused at this, and especially Midnight looked confused. But after a moment, the look of confusion passed on her face and stood up.
"Will it be okay if we leave you girls alone here for a moment?" She asked the girls.
"That's fine." Blossom answered.
Nezu smiled. "Great. We'll be back."
And with that, Nemuri and Nezu left the room and stepped into the hallway. As soon as the door closed behind them, Nemuri jumped right into her question.
"Do you actually believe them?" She asked.
Nezu didn't hesitate to nod. "Their story makes sense. What other explanation do we have for it? There isn't even a city named Townsville in America. In OUR America, anyway."
Ryukyu nodded. "I agree but the whole situation is quite surreal. We basically have 3 super powered girls in that room that have proven to hold their own in a fight. They are from an entirely different world than the one here and the being that sent them to this world could be just as dangerous if not more from the girls description" she finished.
"Ms. Kayama, you don't have to remind me of the impossible for we basically live a world of vast and incredible possibilities. I am a talking animal, the world is made up of people with strange and wide range of powers, that some can do things that defy the laws of physics. Let us be open minded about this whole crazy predicament, shall we?" Nezu said, in a way calm and straight tone.
"Yes, you have an excellent point sir."
Nezu nodded. "I know. That is why I believe them. We have to anyway, for this could be deadly situation that has come about, especially if this creature could well be in our world right now and seeking these girls to finish them off." With a slight touch of worry in his voice.
"But we have to also realize that the public eye is not so pleased about these girls showing up out of nowhere and using their quirks illegally. The police would want to detain these girls and that in it will already be a problem on itself." Midnight said.
"I understand where you're coming from Ms. Midnight, but I assure that I have a plan that will resolve the issue soon so the girls will not have unwanted attention on them." Nezu said with a little smirk.
She did not react but simply gave a slight nod. Nezu saw it and placed a paw on her arm.
"There are many more things I want to do but finding accommodations for the girls is top priority as of now. They will also need knew identities, so as to better fit in to this world properly. That is why I asked you to come Ms. Kayama." facing the woman.
"Me sir, are you sure about that?" She asked quite shocked.
"Yes Midnight I am. For I can't think of any other person for the job other than yourself, and I have a good feeling that the girls could benefit from a strong female role model to guide them while they are here." He explained.
Although Midnight was caught off guard, she was not against the idea of housing the girls and keeping them safe.
"Yes sir. These girls saved my life and they have good hearts. I can imagine how it feels to be scared and without help, so I want to help them to. Besides we can't take the chance of many people finding out, or those with evil intentions can get to them" she said.
"Very well. We shall inform the girls of our decisions and make the necessary preparations to get them settled" He said.
'I believe these girls might be a new generational of heroes we might surely need.' Nezu thought with a small smile.
Author's Note:
Hello everyone, this chapter is slightly longer than the previous 2, but hey, I just needed to give more detail and vision to my work.
I want to give a shout out to all the people who gave me advice on the foster parent of the PPG, I initially wanted to go with Ryukyu but scrapped the idea; after a long mental battle. I think due to Midnight's many person's, she will be a fun and good foster mother for the girls to learn from. The girls will learn a lot from her and she will learn more about the girls to.
Also I want to give credit to a fan fiction I got inspiration from, Bittersweet Harmony by PeriwinkleFrog. One of its chapters was a massive help with me coming up this chapter. I loved it but wanted to give the girls a bit more edge. They are teenagers and yeah they are good girls but will tend to oppose authority when deemed fit. Nezu understands this and though there might be some trouble at times, they will bring some action.
Anyway, do leave a comment and let me know what you thought.
