The Invincible Lord's plot was finally being put into fantastic motion.
All of what he had planned was now ready to show in full force all of his might and cunning he had collected in so much capacity. All of his troops and spies were the utmost loyal to him in every way possible. And he was even sure he was soon to find that young girl he had been so bent on getting his hands on her power. But for now it did not matter if he did not find her or not, he had found a temporary but very taxing solution to his bearing problem with all of this.
He could not be stopped now with all his armies and all of the careful things he had done for so long. He looked out on his great achievement with a gruff look on his bearded face and neck with stern eyes and grey eyes, the wind whistled in his ears and face. He stood on the banister overlooking the city, the towers stood perched on the walls ensuring safety for those who lived inside the ever-so-strong walls he had helped make.
Yes, this was where he would overlook all the world that would soon be his.
He could see for miles all around and into the vast sky at this vantage point. And that is the way he liked it, to be able to keep his keen eye on everything that it needed to be seeing. He had been viewing the two towers in the distance for some time now with that said eye of his. They were tall and had bridged walls and columns. He did have to admit it was quite the sight that even had beauty in it for what the enemy had made. But he knew that it was his enemy that had made it, for all he knew it could be another dragon stronghold. It was two tall towers, from the looks of it, they were building a third one. How dangerous to his plans, he knew they were up to no good and he could sense it in his body and mind.
He could practically feel their cold talons raking on his skin and inside his mind as well.
But he did not fear those awful towers the dragons had set up! It did not matter if they had a place for a quick attack! He did not fear them or their many terrible beasts and claws! He and his people were safe in The Invincible City! They had armed it to the teeth. He made sure of it. The towers and gates were as strong as can be. No dragon would ever even get close! Less than a year ago another place had almost taken out a small group of dragons that threatened to get close.
From what he knew there was a Night dragon and an Ice dragon in particular that interested him. What rare dragons that are his foes and enemies, yes all dragons were a danger to what he had built. And to think that he had done all of this! His hands had helped build these walls, and he did with his bear hands! His son should be ashamed! His son was of no use to him now, he was always around doing things that were of no use to the Invincible Lord.
On the note of that, where was he, Undauntable? His son?
Jackanapes looked around very carefully, his cloke dragging on the ground. He sighed. He was never around when you needed him and he was always around when you didn't. His stupid son was nowhere to be found! The unempathetic lord did not care much for his son or his just as unimportant friends. He only thought of him as a waste of space, it made him wonder why he had even had a son, to begin with, useless!
He deeply breathed in the cool mountain air through his beard. He calmed his mind, he had other things to think about and do. Not a thing he could take care of later by himself much less. It did not matter though in the end anyway, all things were in place, and from what he could see they were working brilliantly according to his careful design. He had spent years getting what he needed for all of this was now ready, it was being put into play. All he needed to do now was wait.
He was a patient man, he had all the time he needed in his hands.
He was a patient man, but not that patient. He only had a limited time in this world and he was going to make the most of it. His war machine would soon roll, and no one would be able to stop him. He continued to revel and sneer at his seemingly complete accomplishments when his train of thought was rudely interrupted by someone knocking at the door. He turned around and squinted into the dim light with his self-proclaimed keen eye.
Now what? Who could that possibly be? He had to know. This had better be important as he still had so much to lead and guide even with all things ready in their place. With a sigh that had a slightly annoyed tone he then asked the person behind the door with his sightly angered voice said, "Yes, Who Is It?". He said in a gruff voice.
"It's Boar, My Lord," an equally as gruff voice answered at the door, he had been expecting him. His countenance lightened up at the thought that one of his best men had shown up at precisely around the time that he needed him to. "Come in my friend," he said to Boar as he walked in. He promptly turned around, grasping at a table in front of him he looked at the man straight in the eyes. He had only one question in mind at that moment he needed to ask. One that was of the utmost importance to his plans.
"Have you found the girl yet?" he asked hopefully as he lean forward on the table with his hands to it to keep himself upright. "No...My Lord," Boar said in a careful tone trying not to anger his master. Jackanapes huffed as he turned away again, the cape on his back wisped the air in a heave as he spoke. "Boar, my plan depends heavily on that Girl," he said to Boar coldly, there was no answer from the man behind him. Perhaps out of fear or respect, he did not know and he did not care.
He then sighed and turned about in the small room, dust filtering in the air like snow. " Forget that trouble for now my friend, I have found a solution though in small supply." He said. This intrigued the man as he watched his master walk up to a pot an then pick up what was incased inside of it.
He dug his hands into the soft soil, scooping the small plant up as if he had a bowl in his crooked fingers. It had a dark red, prickled stem with bright green veins, lest the leaves are also the same shade of green, with dark red veins that made up the veins of the bloom. scattered about the foliage were small white flowers tinted with grey. The small tender leaves poked at his hands with their jagged edges, the roots filled with many knobs and gnarled in shape and ghostly white in hue. In the heart of the flower was dark red that was close to being black, a seed.
It smelled of leaf rot and had a faint peppery scent to it, the roots smelling of that of aged oranges.
He held it out to Boar with his crooked fingers as he spoke. " You don't know what this is...do you?" He said coldly. And The Invincible Lord was right, he had never seen anything like it before. He set it back into the pot with care and then brushed his hands off. " This is but a small portion...of what we have grown, it is the beating heart to my plan mind you." He said.
With such a tool at his disposal, he could use it to even take over the entire world if he wished.
