A teensy bit of a rewrite before I start posting newer chapters. Some more details here and there, Cody's character actually being more Cody, and hopefully more realistic believable reasons to people who are voted off. (Mainly from Killer Bass)

It's basically the same as the first few original chapters I posted, just slight changes.

"Sophia, Jaeden, get in the car!"

Sophia sighed as she heard her mother's voice yell at them from outside the house.

Their parents had signed them up for a summer camp! A summer camp! Just to get rid of them for a couple of weeks.

"Stupid, stupid, STUPID!"

She turned to see her twin brother dragging his suitcase down the steps, cursing each time it crushed his toes.

Sophia dragged her stuff outside to their older brother, who was waiting to load the trunk.

"Here's my shit," she announced, plopping her duffel bag down. It was actually a mini suitcase with wheels, handle and bigger space but it looked like a duffel bag.

"Can't wait till you're gone!" Her brother exclaimed in dramatic relief.

"Same here."

Finally they were in the car and on their way to the place the camp was. It turned out to be on an island and they had to take a yacht across the lake.

Strange.

When they stepped off onto the dock there was already a crowd of teenagers waiting along with a middle-aged man, who must have been the director or something.

"Everyone, the twins, Sophia and Jaeden!" The man indicated them as he introduced them to the crowd of teens.

"How many people are there?" Snapped a raven-haired girl with gray eyes. She looked like one of the many bitches that would bully Sophia at school.

"Two more after these two," the man smiled.

"Wait, they're twins? They don't even look alike," a girl with pigtails spoke up. Sophia slowly exchanged a look with her brother before they both stared blankly at the girl. She blushed and hid behind a bigger girl wearing the same clothes.

"Yeah, it's called non-identical twins, genius!" The same girl from earlier snapped.

"Can we hurry up so we can get this contest started?" A black girl snapped.

"Why, you hoping to win?" Asked a dude with a green mohawk.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Jaeden spoke up and everyone looked at him. "Hold the phone!"

"Okay, I can hold it for you!" A blonde with a blue bandana said, raising her hand. It was then that Sophia realized she was the class idiot and not the girl with pigtails.

"There's a contest?"

"Uh, yeah..." the man said.

"I thought this was a summer camp!"

"We thought!" Sophia corrected him.

"Well… that's the theme but you guys are here to win a million," the man replied.

"Who are you?" Jaeden asked.

"Um… Chris ...MacLean? The host of the show."

"We're on a show? Like live TV?" Jaeden asked, looking wildly around for cameras.

"Who invited these losers?" The green-mohawked punk muttered.

"Yes?" Chris replied, looking both annoyed and confused at the same time. "Didn't you read the advertisement before you signed up?"

"I wanna go home!" Sophia snapped. "I did not sign up for this!"

"That's. What I said," A goth girl muttered and Sophia nodded earnestly, saying, "see!"

"Our parents said it was a normal summer camp!" Jaeden whined. "All these people look big and mean!"

He wasn't actually scared, but he was complaining out of annoyance. It seemed they had been punked.

"How old are you?" Sophia pointed to some of the teens.

"Um, sixteen," a blonde, who wasn't Lindsay replied, looking at them strangely. Some of the others murmured that they were around sixteen too.

"Oh, we're fine Jaeden. I mean we're fifteen going on sixteen, after all."

"But I don't wanna-"

"Okay, SHUT UP!" Chris interrupted and pushed the twins towards the other teens. "I don't care if y'all don't know what you signed up for but your contract says you gotta stay, which you would know had you read them!"

"Asshole," Jaeden muttered.

"This'll be fun," Sophia sighed.

"Now the next dude is from an island that was blessed by a miracle," Chris began. "Which means he's got superpowers. You may freak out now."

Silence.

Then.

"No way! Seriously?"

"Awesome! What is his power?"

"You're shitting me, right?"

"HUSH!" Chris snapped. "Don't pester him and make him uncomfortable when he arrives just so you can see proof! Let him be, got it? If he uses his powers, he uses them. It took me a lot of convincing for his family to allow him to come all the way up to Canada just for this."

"So he's not from Canada?"

"Cool! Is he from America?"

"Maybe Hawaii. He said it was an island."

"Anyway!" Chris interrupted, annoyed. "Please welcome… Camilo the Shapeshifter!"

Camilo got onto his yacht. He was pretty excited for the contest he signed up for! A million dollars on the line!

He waited for his boat to move forward but the driver was talking to someone and then that someone shoved a young boy on the same boat.

"You two will have to go together because the other drivers are getting pissed about circling back to pick people up, eh."

"Um, okay," Camilo shrugged at the strange man with the strange accent. The boy sat stiffly on the seats and Camilo sat across from him as they started their journey across the lake.

The boy had curly, dark brown hair that was unnaturally sleek and shiny. His brown eyes were filled with worry. He was wearing shorts and a white plaid button up, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Strangely, he didn't have any shoes, but then Camilo himself was dressed in a ruana and he was sure that wasn't common in Canada.

"So..." the best way to start a conversation, he'd heard. "What's your name? I'm Camilo."

"L-Luca." He replied, looking nervous before he extended a hand. Camilo accepted it and Luca took his hand in both of his, mumbling, "Piacere, Girolamo Trombetta!"

Camilo smiled. "Ah, so you speak another language? What was that? Italian, I presume?" He knew how it sounded.

Luca nodded shyly. "Do you speak another language?"

"Only Spanish."

Luca nodded again and they were quiet for a moment before Camilo spoke again.

"So why are you nervous?"

"I don't have a lot of confidence… I signed up to try new things and become braver so my parents encouraged me… said I'd be fine from hunters..."

"Hunters?"

Luca looked alarmed, brown eyes wide. "Um… I meant..."

"Hey, you can tell me anything, okay? I promise I won't judge."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

"Okay, well I'm not actually human… I'm… a sea monster!" He blurted out.

"Really? Cool."

"I expected a better reaction..."

"Well, I'm a shapeshifter, so it's not hard to believe extraordinary things, ya know." And with that he shapeshifted into Luca and then back to himself.

Luca gaped and then gasped, "woah! That's so awesome!"

"See? No need to worry. Plus, Canada isn't expecting sea monsters so I'm sure there aren't hunters here. And Chris probably knows your true identity so you'll be safe."

"Well… that's a relief," Luca sighed.

Just as they finished their conversation they pulled up to the dock. Camilo hopped off and Luca timidly followed.

"WHAT? Are you serious? He was supposed to come on another yacht!" The host, Chris, Camilo had seen his website, exclaimed in annoyance.

Luca had jumped from the outburst and Camilo gave him a reassuring smile before explaining to Chris.

"They said the drivers quit so he had to come along with me."

"Pfft! Quitters! Lazy slackers, I'll be cutting their paych-"

"Um, Chris, how about introducing our last two competitors?" A curly-haired redhead with green eyes said, eyeing Camilo, interestedly. Everyone else was staring too now.

"He looks pretty normal to me," a girl with two little ponytails (he didn't know what the hairstyle was called) muttered to her smaller friend, both of them wearing the same clothes.

I'm guessing Chris told them about me, Camilo thought, rolling his eyes.

"What'd you expect him to look like? An alien from Mars?" A short boy with a sweater vest and a book, asked sarcastically.

"Well, I mean..."

Another redheaded girl, this one with freckles and blue eyes, wearing a dark dress with white flower patterns, slid over to Camilo's and Luca's side and said, loudly, "do they think you can't hear them 'whispering' about you?"

They chuckled as some of the other teens stopped talking about him, looking embarrassed.

"They're acting like you're Harry Potter or something," she continued.

"Never heard of that, sorry."

"Right. We'll, I'm Sophia," she introduced, holding out her hand to shake his, which he did. "And this is my younger twin brother, Jaedan."

Camilo also shook hands with a brunette boy with green eyes, who had been standing nearby. Luca shook their hands too. "Nice to… meet you," he stammered.

"Why does he look like a kid?" Green Mohawk asked, glaring at Luca for no reason.

"I-I'm twelve," he managed to say, trying and failing to hold himself high.

"What? Kid you won't last a day here!"

"I never said anything about age!" Chris waved the contracts about, smirking.

"I thought the age group would vary," Luca mumbled.

"Anyway, that's the last of our competitors," Chris announced, taking out a camera and jumping on the yacht, still parked in the water, the driver having ditched it. "Now come to the end of the dock for a picture."

"What for?" Sophia asked, warily, eyeing the unstable looking dock. Camilo and Jaeden meanwhile, had hurried after the others.

Luca was also standing by the redhead. There just wasn't a right time to tell people that you were a sea creature. If that dock fell… Boom! Everyone would know.

"For the promos," Chris muttered as he adjusted the lens. "C'mon, now! No need to worry, the dock is perfectly stable!"

Sophia still didn't move, not trusting him one bit.

Luca stayed firmly rooted to his spot and cried out, "I can't!" Chris would take mercy on him right? He should know why!

Chris only beckoned them forward again, impatiently.

What if it falls? Ran through Luca's head.

"Any day now, you two," Chris grumbled.

"C'mon, man! My face is freezing up!" Sassy Girl snapped. "They don't gotta join if they don't wanna!"

"He's probably afraid of water," the gentle-looking giant said, sympathetic.

Just then, the dock broke.

Sophia and Luca stood side-by-side as they watched the others struggle out of the water.

"Yeah… it broke," Sophia pointed out the obvious in a casual drawl.

For once, Luca was grateful for his cowardice.

"What a way to start, huh?" Camilo asked, squeezing water out of his curls. Sophia at random, grabbed one of his curls, watching it spring back into a neat ringlet. Camilo stared at her blankly before shrugging.

They were sitting on some stumps in a bonfire area where Chris was explaining that this was where the elimination ceremony would take place.

"'Scuse me," Green Mohawk spoke up, stepping forward. "What'll the sleeping arrangements be?"

"Wait, we get to pick our sleeping arrangements!" Jaeden jumped up from the stump and some people actually snickered.

"No," Chris rolled his eyes. "Girls on one side and guys on the other."

"Damn it!" Jaeden snapped his fingers and sat back down among more snorts of laughter.

"Excuse me, Kylie? Can I get a lake view with my cabin since I'm the prettiest?" Dumb Blonde spoke up, raising her hand.

"Did she just call him Kylie?" Sophia asked aloud.

"Yep," Camilo sighed.

"That's not how it works! And it's Chris!" Chris snapped.

"L-M-A-O! You're so funny, Chris!" Jaeden randomly exclaimed, sarcastically and more chuckles followed.

Chris mimed zipping his lips at Jaeden and the brunette did so, swallowing his key.

"You can't swallow if your mouth is closed," Camilo pointed out.

Green Mohawk looked at him with a smirk, chuckling and said, "bad choice of words, man."

"Now there's a dirty line in a PG Rated show," Jaeden snickered. His sister kicked him.

"ARE Y'ALL DONE?" Chris snapped. "Now as I was saying there is a certain arrangement-"

"I have to be with Sadie or I'll die!" Thing One said.

"And I'll break out in hives!" Thing Two added. "It's true."

"This cannot be happening!" Sophia and Goth Girl exclaimed at the same time. They both exchanged startled glances when suddenly Big Chungus, sitting behind them, grabbed the two girls in a headlock.

"Aw, c'mon, girls! It'll be like a big sleepover!" He exclaimed, positively.

"At least you two won't have to bunk with him!" Jaeden leaned towards his sister to whisper this as he nodded at Green Mohawk, giving a deer a noogie.

"Alright, time for the teams!" Chris snapped, looking angry. "If I call your name, stand on the right. Gwen." The goth girl next to Sophia got up and moved to the right side.

"Trent." A boy with nice black hair and green eyes followed her.

"Heather." The mean-looking raven-haired girl sniffed and moved to Gwen and Trent's side, looking haughty, like she was above all mortals.

"Cody." The tech geek with the boyish grin joined them.

"Lindsay." The dumb blonde got up and started heading in the opposite direction. "Other way, Lindsay!"

"Beth." The mousy nerd with braces and glasses scurried to her team, looking both anxious and excited at the same time.

"Katie." The smaller girl with pigtails shot her twin friend a despairing look and sadly walked away from her.

"Owen." The fat blonde that almost choked Sophia and Gwen to death ran over, whooping.

"Leshawna." The sassy black girl waltzed over.

"Justin." The male model strutted to the right after Leshawna, giving his team a grin. Camilo tried not to laugh as most of the girls and Owen swooned.

"Noah." The sarcastic bookworm dude walked over, looking surly.

"And Camilo and Sophia, you're over there with those guys," Chris said to the two of them and they joined their team together.

"Team two! On the left!"

"Geoff." The blonde wearing the cowboy hat and a relaxed grin skipped over to the other side.

"Bridgette." The surfer girl walked over, hands in her hoodie pockets and smiling slightly too.

"DJ." The big guy, who seemed skittish, joined the two blondes.

"Tyler." The guy wearing a tracksuit and who was undoubtedly a jock. Though he tripped multiple times on the way to his teammates, making Sophia start to doubt it.

"Sadie." The girl who matched Katie literally from head to toe… for some reason.

"Izzy." The crazy redhead, who had been staring at Camilo blinked and did multiple flips over to her team, a wide grin on her face.

"Courtney." The proper-looking girl walked over in an almost snobby manner.

"Ezekiel." The homeschool kid looked happy as he joined his team.

"Duncan." The mohawk dude stopped his assault on the deer and moved over.

"Eva." The bodybuilder walked over all while still lifting her barbells she had with her.

"Harold." The ginger nerd blinked as he removed his finger from his nose.

"And Jaeden and Luca. Move! Move! Move!"

The two brunette boys exchanged glances and then scampered over to their team after Harold, who was lagging behind.

"Sadie!" Katie cried, holding out her hand to her friend, who looked ready to bawl. Katie then looked at Chris. "How can you do this to us?" She wailed.

"So what're the team names? Do we get to choose?" Sophia asked as everyone ignored Katie's wailing.

"No, I've got the names picked out already. Y'all will be known as the Screaming Gophers!" Chris tossed a green flag to them and Owen caught it, unraveling it to reveal a Gopher… that was screaming.

"Wow, we're the big-mouthed rodents! That's badass!" Camilo exclaimed in sarcastic enthusiasm and his team snickered.

"Hey, I have a big mouth, too!" Izzy the crazy redhead called over.

"Maybe, you can switch!" Sophia called back and then turned to Chris.

"Oh, no. No, no, no!"

"Kill a bird with two stones? Or however the saying goes." She suggested, indicating Katie staring forlornly at Sadie who was crying as if the world was ending.

"Fiiiiine!" Chris whined. "Izzy, switch places with Katie!"

Katie ran over to Sadie and Izzy casually waltzed over to Sophia's side, smirking. The two redheads high-fived.

Mize as well have people I like on the team, Sophia thought. Although, Camilo is likable enough.

She looked at the Shapeshifter on her other side and out of the corner of her eye she noticed Izzy staring, too. Sophia shook her head and chuckled.

Meanwhile, Heather was burning a glare into the back of Camilo's head, suspiciously.

"And you all will be the Killer Bass!" Chris tossed a red flag with a Bass on it towards the other team.

"Awesome!" Harold, Jaeden and Luca all exclaimed in unison and awe.

"How does it feel to be competing against your sister?" Duncan asked, nudging the former brunette.

"Yeah, twins are the closest kind of siblings, aren't they?" DJ said more sympathetically.

"Don't let that get in the way of winning!" Courtney immediately snapped.

Jaeden turned to smirk at his team before looking at the Gophers team and yelling, "SIS! I'M GONNA CRUSH YOU FOR BREAKFAST!"

"YOU'LL BE SORRY YOU WERE EVER MY TWIN!" She retorted back. "YOU'RE GOING DOWN, LITTLE BRO!"

"FOR THE LAST TIME! WE'RE THE SAME AGE!"

"NOPE, I'M OLDER!"

"BY FOUR SECONDS!"

"I learned a lot in those four seconds," Sophia said.

"OKAY! WE GET IT, DAMMIT!"

Everyone turned away from the twins' sudden outburst of random insults to look at Chris again.

"Okay, there's a confessional camera in the outhouse you can go to share your private thoughts with people at home or to get something off your chest."

"Man, I'll be roasting everyone in there," Jaeden commented.

"You'll get kicked off very soon if you act mean, dude," Sophia warned him.

"Alright… fine. I'll play nice… for now."

(Confessional Cam)

Gwen- Okay… so far this sucks. Although Sophia is okay. /she smiles/ Anyone who can make Chris angry is pretty cool.

Lindsay- /sits on the toilet about to use the bathroom before she notices the camera/ Ohmygosh. What's this doing here? Am I going to be in Star Stalker Magazine?

Owen- Hey, everyone, check this out. /he farts and then laughs hysterically/

Sophia- /her face scrunches up in disgust/ Why does it smell like straight up shit in here? I mean I know it's a potty but still… and in front of a camera?

Jaeden-/he enters and sees a loon sitting there. It squawks and then flies at him, attacking him and he screams/ Gah! Get off!

"Okay," Chris said, stopping in front of the cabins. "Gophers are in the east cabin and Bass are in the west one."

"Um, which one is the Yeast Cabin?" Lindsay asked.

Heather pushed open the door to the girls side and looked around. "Bunk beds? Like a summer camp?"

"That's the idea, genius," Gwen said, walking past.

"Ugh! Shut it, Weird Goth Girl!"

"I'm just answering your damn question!" Gwen snapped back.

"Yeah, calm down, Angry Lady," Sophia said, cheerfully, walking in with Izzy and Leshawna.

As Lindsay walked in, Cody followed and walked straight up to Gwen. "You're so smart. I feel that."

"Leave me alone."

Cody backed up a little before walking over to Leshawna. "Hey," he said in what he thought was a seductive, manly voice.

Leshawna burst out laughing, patted his shoulder and said, "you're funny, shorty."

"Need help?" Cody asked Izzy, who was dragging in a bunch of questionable stuff. A rocket, a snake in a cage, a tranquilizer gun, a motorcycle and many more.

"Nope! I'm good!" She grunted.

"Hi there," Cody walked over to Lindsay.

"Oh, hey… Cory?"

"So how's it going?"

"What're we talking about again?"

"So what's up?" Cody asked Heather.

"The ceiling which you'll be hanging from by your shoelaces if you don't fuck off!"

Cody walked over to Sophia about to open his mouth but she put her hand on his head and turned him around before pushing him to the door.

"Go play with the other little boy," she said, referring to Luca.

The other girls snickered except Lindsay, who seemed deep in thought, probably still trying to remember what she and Cody had been talking about.

On the way out, Beth walked past and Cody was about to offer help when she accidently dropped her bag containing something hard in it on his foot. She leaned down to pick it up, knocking him with her bag and he was sent flying.

He landed at Camilo's feet. The curly-haired boy said nothing, helped him to his feet before continuing on his way to their cabin.

"Excuse me? Are there any outlets where I can plug in my straightening iron?" Lindsay asked, walking outside behind Sophia and Gwen, the latter sitting on the steps, looking glum.

"There are some in the communals just across the way," Chris responded.

"Communal bathrooms? But I'm not catholic," Lindsay said, looking puzzled.

"You really are a simple person," Sophia muttered.

"It means we shower together, idiot!" Gwen added.

After a few minutes of silence, Lindsay started wailing at this news and Noah, Trent and Owen peeked out of their cabin door to see the commotion.

"It took her that long to realize what we said?" Sophia muttered to Gwen, who shrugged.

"I'm glad we're in our own cabins with just guys, y'know what I mean?" Owen chuckled. Noah and Trent looked at him oddly before heading back in. "Wait, no, I didn't mean it like that! I love chicks! I just don't want to sleep with them!" Owen protested as he followed them back in trying to explain himself.

Sophia laughed at this.

"Excuse me, Chris!" Geoff called from the other cabin's porch. "Is there some kinda chaperone?" The blonde asked, watching Bridgette as she entered her cabin.

"You're all sixteen. As old as a counselor in training," Chris said.

"Almost," Sophia said.

"Soon, soon," Camilo added, popping his head out of his cabin.

"Twelve," Luca sighed as he walked back outside, looking nervous.

"Whatever, you'll have these older kids look after you anyway. I'm sure you all are smart enough to take care of yourselves."

He left after saying they had a couple of minutes to unpack and then they had to meet at the Main Lodge.

"Nice!" Geoff exclaimed.

"This can't end well," Sophia muttered wisely.

A high-pitched scream came from the girl's side, summoning the first problem.

Camilo, and Sophia, along with many others peeked into the girls side to see Lindsay on a chair, looking down at something.

"What is it? Kill it! Kill it!" She shrieked.

It was a cockroach.

Suddenly it moved and everyone screamed and hopped on beds or in Jaeden's case he hopped on the window sill. Harold tried to stomp on it and Duncan had brought an ax and almost killed people multiple times as he tried to chop the bug. Camilo and Sophia stood at the door, exchanging uncertain glances.

Luca was still outside wallowing about, but safe from the chaos going on.

Sophia finally found an opening in the crowd of people actually trying to get rid of the cockroach, and she darted forward, grabbing it.

"Ew! She's holding it! She's holding it!" Lindsay squealed, hiding behind DJ, who was hiding behind Leshawna, who was hiding behind Tyler.

Sophia smirked and opened her mouth, dangling the bug above her open mouth. People screamed more. She had to keep a careful grip on the squirming bug in case it accidently did drop in her mouth. It happened once when she was trying to prank Jaeden when they were younger.

She threw it out the open door after a few seconds. After the bug was removed, DJ bolted, blubbering in fear. Leshawna ran after him, calling to him. Meanwhile, Tyler was flirting with Lindsay.

"If you ever see one of those again, just call me, because," he paused and inhaled, puffing out his chest, "I can do that, too, ya know!"

Lindsay looked at him in awe and Sophia rolled her eyes before turning to them and saying to Tyler, "so you can eat a roach, too?"

"Wh-what?"

"Yeah, usually, I eat them, but I didn't wanna scare you all and make you wish you never met me," Sophia said, smirking wider.

"Too late," Camilo and Gwen said playfully.

"Hey, guys! What happened? I heard screaming," Luca said, walking in, peering around timidly.

"What? Luca, it's been going on for a minute and stopped a minute ago and now you realize?" Sophia asked, not trying to be rude.

Luca still flinched a bit. "I didn't want to get in the way and then be yelled at since, y'know, I'm just a kid and all."

"Oh. Well, yeah, everything's fine, don't worry," Sophia said awkwardly, deciding not to tell the young boy about the roach lest he get scared and think the island was infested with them. Which it probably was.

"Okay," Luca shrugged.

Leshawna suddenly reappeared, "y'all it's time to meet at the Main Lodge… and somebody come help me get this boy DJ off the cabin roof."

"LISTEN UP! I SERVE IT THREE TIMES A DAY! AND YOU'LL EAT IT THREE TIMES A DAY! SO GET YOUR TRAY AND SIT YOUR ASSES DOWN!"

"Scary man," Luca whimpered from where he stood next to Camilo in line. He noticed people had paired up in the line. One Bass and one Gopher. The twins were together of course and Harold and Beth were first in line.

"Excuse me?" Beth asked, politely. "Will we be getting all of the major food groups?"

"Yeah, and I have major allergies to certain things," Harold said in that raspy voice he has as Beth walked away without another complaint, "what's in this?"

"HOW ABOUT YOU SHUT THE HELL UP AND SIT DOWN!" Chef screamed in the ginger's face and he quickly bolted to his table.

"Have a cow," Owen muttered.

"I know, eh," Ezekiel agreed.

"What was that?" Chef snapped. "Come closer, fatass! I didn't hear you!"

"Uh, nothing," Owen stammered.

"Sure!" Chef growled as he and Ezekiel grabbed their food and scurried away. Noah and Tyler stepped up next and Chef gave the former extra food.

"Yeah, fatten the skinny people up, Chef. We've found out your secret. You're a cannibal and you saw open kids' heads and eat their brains, yum yum," Jaeden deadpanned. Someone in the line snickered until Chef's glare silenced them.

Meanwhile, Noah walked past, holding his tray out in disgust as the red slop… moved?

The twins grabbed theirs. "Um, when did sloppy joe move like this?" Sophia asked.

"Sloppy joe?" Chef repeated, incredulously. Then he laughed hysterically. Sophia and Jaeden exchanged cautious looks and slowly backed away.

Camilo and Luca stepped up next.

"Wow… I love Canadian food," Camilo said through his teeth as he smiled fakely and grabbed his food.

Luca watched as his food moved and started to look sick. "Um, I, uh… I'll pass!" He raced out of the lodge.

"Your loss," Chef grumbled.

"I'm sure," Eva, who was next, grumbled sarcastically, Leshawna beside her.

"Ay, wassup, girl," Leshawna said to Eva, trying to make friendly talk. Eva picked her food up, gave her a baleful glare and left. "Oh, it's gonna be like that is it?"

"NEXT!"

Leshawna flinched and quickly grabbed her food and sat down.

Lindsay and Gwen were among the last people to get their food and as soon as they were seated Chris entered.

The campers were poking their food warily, some even daring to take a bite, Luca, Chris noticed, was nowhere in sight and a stray sandwich was sliding across the floor as if alive.

It probably is. Chris grinned. Geoff caught sight of the host and lightened up as if he would save the day.

"Hey, yo, Chris, my man! Can we order a pizza or something?"

A huge hatchet came flying and implanted itself in the wall in between both tables and everyone froze and slowly looked at the fuming Chef.

"Woah, woah, woah! Brown slops's cool, G! Right, guys?" Geoff spluttered and everyone nodded or chuckled nervously while Cody hid under the table. Camilo and Sophia just rolled their eyes at each other.

"Did you make this outta rats or something?" Jaeden asked and a butcher knife came next, implanting itself one inch above the green-eyed boy's head on the wall.

Everyone screamed at him to shut up.

Chris was snickering before he said, "Campers, are you ready for your first challenge?"

"What is it?"

"Your mom."

Jaeden fake cried and Sophia rolled her eyes.

"Hey, where's the sea monster?" Chris suddenly asked.

"Sea monster?" Leshawna asked.

"Yeah, Luca," Chris said. "Oh, yeah, forgot to mention that, didn't I?"

"Like his power?" Harold asked.

"No, as in like he's actually born a sea monster, silly!" Chris exclaimed and left them bamboozled, calling over his shoulder, "Let's go! Chop, chop!"

"Is he serious?"

"He's probably bluffing."

"If it's true our team has an advantage."

The Killer Bass were talking about what Chris had just said in whispers.

"Well, it would make sense. He wasn't afraid of the water earlier. He just didn't want to fall in," DJ said.

"Poor guy was probably scared we would be disgusted or something," Bridgette said.

"Yeah, but that's so cool. Imagine being able to breathe underwater," Harold sighed.

"The other team also has an advantage, you guys," Courtney snapped their attention to her. "So we need to play to our strengths!"

They all discreetly looked over their shoulders at the Gophers table to see Camilo watching them. The Shapeshifter's eyes widened and he quickly looked down at his food.

"Can you really shapeshift?" Izzy, who was sitting next to him leaned closer and Camilo blushed.

"Um, yep."

Izzy opened her mouth, probably to ask if he could do it now when thankfully, a distraction in the form of DJ, Katie and Jaeden came.

"What'd you suppose they'll make us do first?" Katie asked.

DJ shrugged good-naturedly and said, "it's our first challenge, how hard can it be?"

Jaeden slammed both his hands on the table, green eyes wide as he slowly turned to look at DJ. The rest of their teammates jumped. "You did not just jinx us all! Never say something you aren't sure about!"

Everyone was now gaping at DJ (some people still had food in their mouths) and he tried to stay cool. "T-that's not true! It can't be bad."

"Shut up! Shut up!"

"Bet on it," Duncan suggested from Jaeden's other side.

Jaeden smirked wickedly. "Fine, DJ, I bet you fifty dollars, the challenge is crazy hard."

Sophia knew her brother loved taking up bets and he always pulled through and won somehow. That's where most of his allowance came from.

Meanwhile, back at the Killer Bass table DJ had accepted and now everyone was anticipating the challenge to see who would win the bet. And just looking forward to starting the competition.

"Campers!" Chris' voice came over the intercom. "Get your swimsuits on and meet me at that one very high cliff right now!"

"Looks like it'll be in the water," Sophia said.

"And it looks like Luca's identity will be revealed after all," Camilo said.

"So he really is a sea monster and you knew?" Sophia asked, interestedly.

"He just told me on the boat ride here and I believed him. I mean a shapeshifter can believe something like that after all."

"What can you shapeshift into, specifically?" Sophia asked as they headed to their cabin. "If you don't mind me asking."

"I can turn into other humans, but I would have to have seen them in real life first," Camilo explained.

"That's so cool!" Sophia exclaimed in a genuine manner, her blue eyes brightened.

Heather passed the two of them and Camilo noticed her shooting Sophia a glare.

When they all were in swimsuits and stood upon the cliff looking over the edge they all exchanged nervous glances as Chris stood behind them smiling widely.

"Oh, shit," DJ whimpered as Jaeden smiled evilly, rubbing his hands together

I'll keep the rewritten updates coming one after the other before posting chapter nine.
