Disclaimer- don't own characters of Total Drama, Encanto, or Luca. Do own the twins though.
It was a beautiful day on Wawanakwa Island. Birds chirped, the sun shone and the bear in the forest had made another successful mission of stealing marshmallows.
In the Bass Boys' room all the boys snoozed peacefully. Geoff had his hat over his eyes, snoring, but not as much as Harold was. Tyler mumbled something like "football practice" in his sleep, Jaedan was drooling. Luca and Ezekiel slept quietly and calmly.
Duncan was the first to wake. He stretched, jumped off the top bunk and did some push-ups. Suddenly, he opened his eyes to see pink boxers with heart shapes all over. "What the–?!" He exclaimed, waking everyone else in the cabin.
When they saw the underwear they all burst out laughing. Duncan glared at his bunkmate, snapping, "that's not cool at all, Harold! Why would you leave that out? Like we wanna see that!"
"It's not mine. Idiot!" The ginger snapped.
"Yeah, right!"
"It's not!"
Jaedan was sniggering at their argument, so Duncan turned a glare on him. "They must be yours then, Biker Boy."
Jaedan rolled his eyes and said, "Now, now, Duncan, don't hide the fact they're yours. Is that your special underwear for date night? Very interesting, I see."
The others laughed some more.
When Chris blared the horn for the wake up call, the Bass Boys simply headed out to shower and prepare for the day. Duncan watched them go then cracked his knuckles.
"Time to figure out which freak is leaving their gitch on the floor!" He said, smirking evilly.
All the teens stood on the shore as Chris began explaining the challenge today. "Today's challenge will expose who burns toast and who gives a chef's kiss."
"I don't wanna kiss Chef, eh."
"It's a figure of speech, bro."
"Oh."
Jaeden sighed as Ezekiel looked surprised. Chris glared at the brunette boys and they shut up.
"Each team'll be making a three course meal and serving it for me to judge alongside Chef," Chris continued.
"We're making food for that guy?" Eva rolled her eyes.
"It'll probably be the first real meal he's tasted in years," Sophia said.
"I think all of us here can even make simple dishes, but Chef definitely burns his toast," Camilo added.
Chris let the campers insult Chef a little longer with the cook in the background, clenching his fists and huffing like an angry bull.
Then, Duncan started on Chris. "Don't worry, we'll make sure to make you salads, so you can start your diet, fatass."
"Yeah, wouldn't want you to have to start buying another size up in your pant size," Heather added, smirking.
Chef smirked as Chris immediately yelled at them to shut it. "Anyways," the host said, glaring a bit. "The winners get a reward, the losers will send someone home."
"What's the reward?" Duncan asked.
"Why?"
"I want to make sure I have a reason to help," the delinquent said. Courtney glared at him and he smirked like usual.
"Oh, you're helping or you're gone, buddy!" She snapped.
"Fine, whatever," Duncan said, holding up his hands in surrender. He'd just have to carry on his mission during the challenge.
"Each team will have a head chef–" Chris began about to add something when interrupted.
"Called it!" Courtney and Heather said simultaneously.
"Oh, great," Sophia and Jaedan said simultaneously.
The two bossy girls glared at the twins when Chris laughed and said, "yeah… not happening. For a twist, I'll be choosing the leaders. For Gophers, we'll have Izzy be head chef and for Bass, why don't we have Luca?"
There was chaos after his announcement, of course.
"Seriously, Izzy?!" Heather yelled. "She'd probably put cockroaches or other things in the food!"
"She'll probably make it explode on purpose!" Gwen said.
"She'll probably make a koala or crocodile casserole!" Justin said, remembering the eccentric redhead's stories a couple challenges ago.
"Uh-huh, uh-huh," Izzy said as she wrote all of that down. "Good ideas, guys."
Cody shivered, mumbling, "Oh, no."
Gwen slapped her forehead. "We're screwed."
"Well, I'd rather have anyone, but Heather lead," Sophia said, slinging an arm around her fellow redhead's shoulders.
Camilo smiled at Izzy. "Ignore them, I believe in you." Izzy smiled and glomped him.
"Thank you!" She then pumped her fist in the air. "Let's make a five star meal, yeah?" The Gophers barring Justin and Heather cheered.
The Bass were also having a bit of drama over their chosen leader.
"Okay, seriously, the kid?" Eva scoffed. She glared at Luca, who tried to hold himself high, lest he hide from her wrath. "Do you even know how to cook?"
"Um, no, not really," he mumbled and his team grumbled, so he quickly said. "But we're a team, so you'll help me and I have an idea for an Italian meal."
The Bass calmed down, but Courtney looked miffed at not being chosen. "Coolio," Geoff said.
"Yeah, we got this Bass!" Tyler said, hyping them up. The Bass put their hands in the middle and simultaneously said, "Bass!"
A truck appeared and the campers went to get ingredients. "So what're we making Chef Izzy?" Owen asked, salivating at the food inside the truck.
"Chef Izzy? I like that. Reminds me of my favorite cooking show 'Hell's Kitchen' and Chef Ramsey's tactics…" Izzy suddenly trailed off and got a devilish smirk on her face. "Okay, minions! Get in there and get your damn ingredients NOW!"
Cody backed away and exchanged a glance with Camilo. "Um, but what's the theme?" Izzy slapped him. "Hey! Chef Ramsey never slapped anyone?"
"Yeah? Well, I'm Chef Izzy!"
"But you're acting like–"
Cody was picked up and thrown in the truck. "I want you to get the veggies for spring rolls!" The redhead ordered, yelling. "You!" She pointed at Gwen, "get the dough. What's a meal like this without fortune cookies."
The Goth rolled her eyes but obliged. It was obvious by now what the theme was. Izzy told everybody else what to do, leaving Heather. She turned on the Queen Bee, her grin becoming wider if that was possible.
"As for you Queenie…" she paused to cackle and Heather gulped. "I need you to go to the lake and catch us a nice fresh duck for the main course!"
Luca, meanwhile, was pretty timid as he politely asked each of his teammates what to grab. The pasta, cheese, dough for bread and so on.
"And, um, Duncan? Could you grab the ingredients to make a cream for the cannolis?"
"Why?" Duncan asked, arms crossed, eyes closed, looking stubborn.
"Because… we need it."
"Then admit who the underwear belongs to in the cabin. Is it yours?"
"No!"
"What the hell are you talking about?" Courtney snapped. "Don't be freaking stupid and get the stuff he asked for. NOW!"
Duncan and Luca stared at the CIT, eyes wide before the Delinquent shrugged and muttered, "alright then." Going in to get the ingredients.
"Um, thanks," Luca said.
Courtney just patted his shoulder and left.
(Confessional Cam)
Luca- Courtney was kinda being nice during this challenge… which scares me to be honest, but as long as she helps me get the team in order. /he then squares his shoulders/ And I can't fail. Not when I'm in charge for once. Our food has to be good!
Courtney- You know, Luca has been doing good so far, especially since he made it this far into the game. I'll give him that. So I'm helping him keep the team together as long as he keeps up the good ideas and creativity.
Duncan- Man, Courtney's hot when she's mad. /he smirks and puts on sunglasses/ I'd like to see that more in the future.
Heather- I know what I told Camilo last night, but… why is he friends with that psycho hose beast? /she quickly shakes her head, embarrassed/ Whatever. She better not mess up.
Gwen- /shrugs/ Ya know, I'm actually not annoyed by Izzy for the mere fact that she isn't Heather.
The teams entered the kitchen, setting their supplies down. The Bass' organization was going smoothly all thanks to Luca's kind nature and Courtney's experience in leadership, helping him.
"Okay, um, who wants to work on appetizers?" Luca asked.
"Dorkahontos here and I'll do it," Duncan surprisingly said first, pointing at the ginger, who gave him a suspicious look.
"Okay…" Luca said, startled by the name calling. "You guys can make antipasto on sticks and garlic bread." The Nerd and Delinquent nodded. "For the main course, we'll make chicken alfredo, should be easy, I heard–"
"Tyler and I got it!" Geoff said and the two high-fived. Luca smiled at them. "Katie and Jaedan, could you make the cannolis for our dessert?"
"Sure," Jaeden said easily, smiling at his friend. He then smiled at Katie, who smiled back shyly.
Eva rolled her eyes. "How romantic, but what about the rest of us."
"Um…"
"Eva and Ezekiel, how about you watch the other team and make sure they don't try anything with us," Courtney decided quickly, remembering Heather. "Punch them if you have to."
Eva cracked her knuckles, smiling. "Alright. Come on Homeschool." The prairie boy sent a pleading look to Luca, who shrugged.
"And I'll just help around. Luca and I. We'll supervise too," Courtney decided then asked, "that good with you, Luca?"
"Yep," the Sea Monster agreed, relieved. "Let's get cooking!"
On the Gophers side, Izzy continued yelling at her teammates. "Camilo and Cody, get the spring rolls done! Justin when Heather gets back help her cook the duck! Start making seasonings and sauce for it while you wait! Sophia, Gwen, you make the cookies!"
"What do I do?" Owen asked, reaching for the sugar. Izzy smacked his hands.
"Don't eat anything, got it?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"I can't believe this," Justin muttered.
"What? That you have to lift a finger for once," Camilo muttered sarcastically as he and Cody got started. The Shapeshifter chopped the vegetables while the Tech Geek got the dough started.
Izzy, meanwhile, had gotten the seasonings for everything, handing them to Camilo, Cody and Justin for what they were making.
The door burst open and Heather stood there all soaked and muddy, holding a struggling duck. "I hope you understand what I just went through to get this rat!"
"It's a duck," Justin pointed out.
"Who are you? Lindsay?" The Queen Bee scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Good. Hand it to Justin, you both will cook it. Remember, you have to chop it's head off first, so it can't see."
Heather and Justin paled. "Animals can still be alive with no head…?" Justin gagged.
"Uh-huh," Izzy said, smiling. "Pretty neat, huh?"
In Heather's moment of startled queasiness, the duck managed to slip out of her grasp and escaped out the window.
"Oh, c'mon!" Izzy hollered. "You idiot sandwich!" She bellowed at Heather.
"Um, Izzy, ya know there are frozen ducks already in the freezer there… already prepared to be seasoned and cooked?" Cody said.
"But that's lazy. Fresh is the way to go," the redhead grumbled then conceded, "Fine. Go get a duck from the freezer, Heather."
The Queen Bee walked away, looking a bit green, to the big freezer door nearby.
As Harold made the antipasto, Duncan quickly smeared all the bread with the garlic seasoning he made. After he was done, he turned and yanked Harold's pants down.
"AHA!"
The Nerd was wearing briefs.
"Dang," Duncan muttered, snapping his fingers as Harold muttered obscenities at him, pulling his pants up. Courtney, watching nearby, rolled her eyes.
(Confessional Cam)
Courtney- Duncan is so annoying! Thinking sunglasses makes him cool, thinking he doesn't have to help, and that mohawk is so stupid!
Duncan- I was so sure it was that nerd! /snaps fingers/ Well, next is Jaedan!
Harold- Can't he just leave me alone? Gosh!
Jaedan rolled the dough as Katie made the cream. From time to time they exchanged smiles, some vibe in the air between them.
It was ruined when someone hooked a fishing line into his pocket and ripped his pants off. Jaedan turned to see Duncan.
"Dang, seriously? Not you either, huh?" He looked at Tyler. "Maybe the Jock."
Jaeden left to get another pair of pants, grumbling as Katie, hand over her mouth, watched him go.
"Sorry, for ruining you and your boyfriend's date," Duncan said, still standing there, smirking.
"He's not my boyfriend."
Duncan raised his unibrow at her blush and muttered, "not yet he isn't." Then he snuck over to Tyler. He was boiling the pasta as Geoff cooked the chicken chunks in a pan.
Justin was sprinkling the duck with seasonings and sauce while Heather sat aside, looking annoyed.
"Is the oven on?" The Model asked.
"Yes!" Heather said, rolling her eyes.
Izzy popped up out of nowhere. "Stop standing around! If you're done here go help someone else! NOW!"
Heather grit her teeth and stalked off while Justin hurried to finish his task before his crazy teammate turned on him.
Izzy suddenly realized something. "We gotta decorate for our theme! Owen!" She screamed and he ran over.
"Lunch time?" He asked.
"No! Go get things to decorate our side! GO!"
The blonde ran out of the kitchen.
Luca had overheard this and quickly turned to Courtney. "Should we decorate too?"
"You're right!" She said, "Harold! Go get decorations!"
"I'm working here!" He snapped.
"Ezekiel will take over. Go!"
Harold rolled his eyes, looking pissed before running out of the kitchen as Ezekiel took his place.
Duncan, meanwhile, yanked Tyler's pants, making the Jock trip and fall. "Nope," the Delinquent sighed. Before Geoff could react, Duncan pulled his pants down too. "And nope. That leaves Ezekiel and Luca."
"And yourself!" Jaeden yelled.
"Shut up!"
"Duncan, stop!" Courtney snapped. "Get back to work!"
"Why don't you pull that pole out your butt?"
Courtney growled and stalked off. Luca wrung his hands nervously before following her, quickly complimenting Jaedan and Katie, Tyler and Geoff and Ezekiel.
"Oh, and good job on keeping watch, Eva," he quickly added in case she got angry.
She rolled her eyes and huffed. "Whatever. I know Courtney just gave me 'something to do.' But I don't mind getting a free pass for not helping today."
"I wanted to do that…" Duncan grumbled. He yanked Ezekiel's pants off, so hard he fell backwards. "Nope. That only leaves one more left."
He smirked at Luca.
Heather observed Camilo and Cody, making the spring rolls. Camilo's were perfectly rolled, but Cody's were sloppy. Avoiding the Shapeshifter's gaze, she snapped at the Tech Geek.
"I think they're fine," Camilo said calmly. Heather couldn't avoid it and glared at him. He stared then smiled sweetly.
She looked to the side then muttered, "please just fix them up a bit, Cody," she said through her teeth.
"Stuff the duck!" Izzy was yelling at Justin, who had finished seasoning it.
"What? Ew! No, I don't want to stick my hand in it," the Model whined, disgusted. "I think its good enough with the flavors."
"WHO'S HEAD CHEF?! NOT YOU PRETTY BOY!"
"Stop yelling! You'll harm my eardrums and then my beautiful ears will be harmed!" The Model covered his ears, panicked. Camilo rolled his eyes to the sky. "Who let you lead?"
"Chris! Now are you gonna be a team player or what?"
"I'm a way better team player than you! But I don't want to stuff a duck!"
The Bass watched the arguing from their opponents and exchanged odd looks.
"...such a weird team they have," Katie finally said.
"Honestly, guess Sophia fits right in," Jaeden replied. Katie giggled, knowing he didn't mean any ill will. There was only humor in his tone.
"OWEN!" Izzy bellowed. The blonde ran out of the dining area, opening his mouth. "No, it's not time to eat. I want you to stuff the duck with this filling here, if you're more of a man than this one!"
Justin sniffed and walked away, arms crossed.
"The big moment," Duncan whispered to himself as he approached Luca, who watched his teammates with a hesitant smile. "It's gotta be him… Who else could it be?"
Just as Duncan lunged for Luca, he was tackled by Ezekiel. "Leave the kid alone, eh!" The Homeschool shouted as he pummeled Duncan.
While the Delinquent was dazed and shocked, Ezekiel pulled his shorts down, yelling, "ha! …oh. Nevermind."
"Who is it then?" Jaedan called from over the counter.
"You haven't let me check Luca yet!" Duncan gasped for air.
"It isn't me! Honest!" Duncan gave the younger boy a disbelieving glare as he continued to struggle under Ezekiel's weight. The shorter boy was surprisingly heavy and strong. "Don't you think it looks a little too big on me?"
This got Duncan thinking and he finally relented, saying, "fine… but who's could it be?"
"And why's it in our cabin?" Geoff asked, scratching his head. Just then, Courtney appeared.
"Are you idiots done fighting about underwear?" They nodded. "THEN GET BACK TO WORK!"
They scrambled back to their stations while Luca stammered, "r-right. Hurry up, guys. We don't wanna lose!"
"That's the spirit!" Courtney said, approvingly.
Heather approached Gwen and Sophia, who looked at the oven warily. "What're you two waiting for? I can smell the cookies! They're burnt!"
The two friends exchanged looks. "It doesn't look safe to open," Sophia finally answered.
Heather rolled her eyes, muttering, "must I do everything myself." She opened the oven and a plume of smoke blasted onto her face.
When it cleared she turned to the other girls. Gwen put her hands over her mouth to conceal her smirk while Sophia openly cackled.
Izzy ran over. "WHAT'S GOING ON 'ERE!" She got a glimpse of an eyebrow-less Heather and slowly backed away. "Maybe go fix that."
Heather got a look of her reflection in a pan and screamed.
Duncan and Harold had finished the appetizers and were ordered by a hesitant Luca and confident Courtney to go help the others. So Duncan joined Jaedan and Katie with dessert.
"Huh, this is kinda fun," the Delinquent admitted as he squeezed the custard inside the shells.
"Yeah, it is," Jaeden said, but he was looking at Katie, who was looking back at him, smiling.
Suddenly, Courtney appeared and said, "you're so sloppy, Duncan! Look, what is that?"
"They look fine to me," Duncan sniffed, then he smirked. "Maybe if you hung around me, you'd have more fun!"
"I'm a fun person!" Courtney protested. Jaedan and Duncan exchanged glances, eyebrows raised.
Duncan raised the tube of custard and squeezed it on her face. Courtney gasped. Jaedan laughed. Katie backed away, hand over her mouth, giggling.
The whole bowl of custard ended up on the Delinquent's head.
Jaedan and Katie exchanged smiles as the CIT giggled and Duncan grumbled, wiping his face.
(Confessional Cam)
Duncan- Man, that girl is kind of annoying… but I like it!
Courtney- Not. Happening!
Jaedan- I see a new couple forming! /he smirks then drops it, looking shy for once/ Maybe more than one.
Harold and Duncan carried out their appetizers first. Chris started gulping the food down while Chef poured everything into his mouth.
"Man, and we have to have manners?" Harold muttered.
"I've seen some jailmates eat worse," Duncan said, shrugging.
"You're antipasto passed the test-o!" Chris commented. "Ten points."
"That makes me cringe!" Duncan muttered.
"Hmm…" Chef rumbled thoughtfully. "I've tasted better. And the bread is a bit too crusty, so I say four."
"Why you no-good cook!" Duncan started forward and Harold held him back. Which wasn't much. Tyler, Geoff and Eva had to run over to help.
Camilo and Cody walked over next and placed their spring rolls down. Izzy watched, biting her nails as she watched alongside the rest of the team.
Owen was being watched closely to make sure he didn't try and sneak in and eat the food, but even the big blonde's attention was on Chris and Chef, worried.
Chris chewed thoughtfully while Chef crunched on a roll, making Cody wince. He and Camilo exchanged tense glances as they waited for the judgment.
"Hmm… seven. The veggies are soaked in oil," Chris said after swallowing.
Camilo sighed and muttered, "I knew I put too much in the pan."
"Five," Chef said. "And that's being generous. The dough is too doughy."
Cody sighed this time, saying, "and that's on me."
"I think they both have completely different taste," Sophia muttered as Izzy attempted to fight Chef.
"No duh," Heather muttered, filing her nails. "Chef probably has, like, no taste buds!" Camilo and Cody rejoined them.
"Sorry, guys, I never made spring rolls before," the Shapeshifter said with a shrug.
"And I'm not really a cook," Cody added.
Surprisingly, Heather just shrugged nonchalantly and said, "we're being judged by those two, so it's not really a loss… except if we actually lose."
It wasn't outright nice words, but Camilo could tell that was her way of being reassuring or something like that.
Izzy, meanwhile, had finally been restrained by Owen. "C'mon Chef Izzy, your food is great. They don't know what they're talking about."
"Yeah, you're doing great," Camilo said.
Izzy calmed down and smiled at her teammates. "Alright, we really need a miracle right now. I know it's only round one, but they're ahead and I'm already panicking."
"Well, we can only hope the duck and cookies will be great," Gwen said, shrugging.
Justin, who had been silently observing everything, smirked. He had an idea.
He carefully watched as Tyler brought the plate of pasta out with his buddy Geoff following, both looking confident and eager.
Justin glanced at the floorboards and shifted a loose one as Tyler walked over it. The Jock fell and the pasta flew to the ground.
"For Goodness sake! TYLER!" Courtney bellowed. Luca shrunk away, looking horrified while Eva growled and face-palmed. Duncan rolled his eyes, scoffing and Harold nervously tapped his fingers together. The rest just watched worriedly as Geoff and Tyler hurriedly scooped up what they could.
Chris eyed the messy dish warily as it was placed in front of them. He slowly took a fork full and placed it in his mouth.
He immediately started choking and gagging. Harold ran over and karate chopped his back, making the host spit the food back out.
"Ugh! Are you kids trying to kill me?!" He gasped. Chef snickered, muttering, "wussy." before he ate the rest of the plate.
"I'm giving it eight," Chef said.
"Well, I'll give it one!" Chris said, glaring at his co-host. "Maybe use less pepper next time!"
Geoff blinked and slowly said, "pepper?" Nobody bothered for him to clarify. It could have been seasoning or floor dust.Who knew?
"Anyhoo," Heather said with a smirk at the other team's mysterious setback. She and Justin brought out the duck. "Here's a dish of duck with only the best seasonings and sauce."
"Ooh, sounds delish!" Chris said, looking excited again. He and Chef started chowing down on the Gophers main course. Like before, Izzy anxiously chewed on her nails, waiting.
After swallowing, Chris' eyes widened and he exclaimed, "Now that is an amazing duck! Ten points!" Izzy squealed.
"Ten points," Chef said too, and Izzy hugged Camilo and then Cody, who was on her other side.
Heather and Justin gave each other satisfied smirks. Owen went up to take the remains of the duck. He walked with it back into the kitchen muttering as he passed, "can I?"
"Go ahead," Izzy said dismissively and Owen hurried past to finish the duck. Gwen and Sophia had the cookies in their hands thankfully.
"Bass, your dessert."
Jaedan and Katie appeared and set it down for them to try. The Biker put his hand on the Sunny Girl's shoulder in reassurance as they waited for their answer.
"Eh, six," Chris said with a shrug.
"Eight, I like the custard," Chef said. "Especially sour." Chris gave him an odd look. Ezekiel high-fived his buddy as he and Katie joined their team.
"Gophers, your final dish," Chris said. Sophia and Gwen stepped forward. Everyone held their breath as they set the fortune cookies down. The Bass had taken the lead again despite the slip up of the main course. But the Gophers weren't too far behind.
It all came down to these cookies.
"Let's hope you're fortunate enough to get a good score," Chris said and chuckled at his own joke. He stopped, annoyed, when no one else joined. "Whatever."
He and Chef grabbed a cookie and tried it. After many annoying, crunching minutes they swallowed.
"You know what…" Chris said, head down before he glanced up, frowning. Izzy tensed. Sophia tapped her foot against the floor, arms crossed. "These are some pretty good fortune cookies! Eight!"
The Gophers cheered then simultaneously paused to hear Chef's opinion. "Hmm, now these cookies…" he stopped to eat another one. "Are…"
Izzy gripped her hair, Sophia and Gwen exchanged determined looks, Cody and Camilo held their breath, Justin and Heather glared at the man, daring him to say it. And from the kitchen all that was heard was Owen chomping down.
"THE BEST DAMN COOKIES I'VE EVER TASTED! TEN!"
Sophia and Gwen cheered before yelping when Chef in his happiness grabbed them into a bone-crushing hug. Cody and Justin high-fived and Izzy leaped up and down. She froze when she spotted Camilo hugging Heather, who resisted at first before she leaned against him, trying not to smile.
The Queen Bee suddenly spotted the crazy girl staring and shoved Camilo away, walking away with her nose in the air. Camilo smiled, thinking it was a part of her Heather-Ness.
Until he also saw Izzy's upset look. He grimaced and walked over. "Izzy, I–"
"It's okay!" She quickly said, waving her hands in front of her dismissively, but she felt her heart sinking. "We won, so that's great!" She turned to walk away, but Camilo grabbed her arm and pulled her into a hug.
"Hey, you're awesome!" He said firmly, "but I just like you as a friend."
"And that's just fine," the redhead said. She still felt heartbroken. She'd suspected Heather's crush on him, but she knew she had to accept it.
Because she wasn't Heather.
She stood on her toes and whispered into his ear, "just don't let her hurt you. You're a great guy." She kissed his cheek.
Their tender moment was broken when Cody flung himself at his friends and they fell to the ground in a pile. "Group hug!" The Tech Geek yelled. Izzy and Camilo laughed as Sophia and even Gwen joined.
The Bass, meanwhile, sulked. Duncan pat Courtney's shoulder in comfort and to their surprise he even patted Luca's head. "Hey, you did your best. We did our best. Oh, well."
As Luca stammered a surprised "thank you" Courtney looked ready to snap before she sighed deeply and mumbled, "I just hate losing."
Jaedan came over and put an arm around her and Duncan's shoulders, also to their surprise. Duncan never really liked the boy twin, but he tolerated him more than Harold. Courtney just didn't like his immaturity.
"I know. Me too. Not just for the competition, but because now we have to send another friend home," the brunette boy said.
"Yeah, that too…" Courtney said, but now she was genuinely smiling at her teammates' encouraging words.
"Aww, group hug!" Katie squealed, pulling Ezekiel, Eva, and Harold towards the others. Geoff and Tyler joined.
Luca, in the huddle of his teammates, smiled. He was just so happy his team was being friendly and getting along for once.
But suddenly, it was ruined when Chris screamed.
The Bass all sprang apart and looked around wildly for any signs of danger while the Gophers scrambled up from the ground.
"What's going on, eh?" Ezekiel exclaimed.
"Who? Brought. This. HERE?!"
The host was pointing at a stone statue on the Bass' side of decorations. Everyone gasped in horror and backed away.
"Wh-what? I did, but I found it in my stuff-" Harold began.
"You idiot!" Courtney yelled. "That's from the cursed island! Chris literally told us that!"
"I know, gosh!" The ginger said, looking nervous. "But-But I didn't take it from the island!"
"I know it well! That's definitely from the island," brave Chef said as he observed it with a glass.
"Get it out of here NOW!" Chris yelled and ran out of the building, screaming. Frantically, Harold ran over and snatched it up, running out of there as well.
Chef rolled his eyes. "Well, Bass, he'll see you at the elimination tonight, so be ready." Then the cook left too.
There was a deadly silence amongst both teams.
"Heather," Justin said as the Gophers walked back to their cabin. She tore her gaze away from the boy ahead of her talking to people she didn't get along with.
"Hmm?"
"I'm the one who planted that tiki doll on Harold. Now his team'll vote him off," the Model said, puffing his chest out proudly. "Pretty clever, huh?"
"What? Oh, um, yeah," Heather said, surprised and confused. Camilo turned and smiled back at her.
She was glad she didn't have to manipulate anyone tonight…
It didn't feel right anymore, suddenly.
She quickly shoved that thought away.
Sophia walked ahead of the rest with Izzy. "There's many more fish in the sea."
"Yeah," Izzy said, trying to keep a smile. "But… I really hope Heather doesn't use him or anything like that."
"Please, if she does," Sophia said, cracking her knuckles. "She'll regret it."
"Yeah, definitely!" Izzy said and this time her smirk was wide and genuine again as she began brainstorming ways to get at Heather if she hurt her friend.
"You and Sophia definitely saved us, Gwen!" Cody said, smiling in awe at the Goth.
"Oh, stop, we just made cookies. I think they just love fortune cookies," Gwen said, feeling slightly embarrassed, but pleased. Owen was next to them eating the rest of said cookies as the other three talked.
"Well, Heather and Justin did great too, I hate to admit," Camilo said, only directing that last bit to Justin. "It was just the appetizers that set us back."
"I liked them," Owen said, finishing off the cookies.
"Of course, you did, big guy," Gwen said, grinning.
"Did you get rid of it?"
"Yes, honest! GOSH!"
The Bass, most glaring at Harold, were sitting in front of the fire as they waited for the marshmallow ceremony to begin.
"So much for friendship," Luca mumbled. Ezekiel patted his back, humming in agreement.
They'd been getting along so well for a moment. Even Duncan and Eva had been smiling, despite their loss…
"Anyways, I've got ten Bass here tonight, only nine marshmallows. When I call your name, come get your sweet treat."
"Courtney." The CIT "hmmphed" and went up to get her marshmallow.

"Geoff." The Party Boy looked relieved, but worried as only Tyler and Harold were left.
"Great, here I am again," the Jock whispered, dejected. He hated messing up, knowing he'd most likely be on the chopping block. And this was like his third or fourth time? He'd lost count.
Harold, meanwhile, just sighed, head down.
"The final marshmallow of the night goes to…"

The Jock let it hit his head. Harold stood up, sad for a moment before he smiled good-naturedly.
"Well, it was fun while it lasted, guys," he said and grabbed his luggage that Chef had gone and gotten for him like he did for every contestant.
The others lost their stoney expressions and smiled too. Harold high-fived all the guys and gently fist-bumped Eva. Katie gave him a hug, looking sympathetic and Courtney, looking sad too, shook his hand.
They all followed him down to the boat and stood at the end of the dock as he hopped on. "Farewell Total Drama Island. I've competed, I've made friends, but I've accidentally cursed my team, which was my downfall. Play well, guys and good luck!"
"Bye, Harold!" Luca said, waving his hand.
"You played well, buddy!" Ezekiel called.
"See ya, man!" Jaedan said.
"We'll miss you!" Katie added.
The boat started driving and soon was out of sight.
"You're right," Tyler said to Jaedan. "I hate losing just to say bye to a friend." Geoff patted his shoulder.
"C'mon," Courtney sighed and they all walked back to their cabin. "It's time to lose the losing streak."
"Damn right!" Eva said, punching her palm.
(Voting Confessional)
Courtney- Okay, I know I'm hard on my team always yelling and snapping, but then what happens? We lose! And Harold took it to heart and was all glaring at me and stuff. So I vote for him. He messed up.
Duncan- Bye, Nerd. It's been fun, I guess.
Eva- Harold. Not that I believe in curses, but ya know… /shrugs/ …just in case.
Ezekiel- I ain't voting my friend, yo. I vote Duncan. That guy's been messing around, barely helping during the challenge, eh.
Geoff- I'll vote Harold, I guess. /fidgets nervously/ Tyler or I could be targeted for messing up.
Harold- I vote for Tyler. He and Geoff messed up the most in my opinion.
Jaedan- I vote Tyler.
Katie- I hate to do it, but Tyler.
Luca- I'll vote Duncan. I don't know what he was doing, but it wasn't very helpful. Even if he was nice to me.
Tyler- /looks downtrodden/ Sorry, Harold.
The Bass boys settled into their beds, the pink, heart-patterned boxers still on the ground.
"Okay, seriously, someone better fess up!" Duncan snapped, sitting up.
"IT'S NOT MINE!" The other boys simultaneously snapped.
Just then, Owen peeked in. "Hey, guys. Did any of you happen to see pink underwear with hearts? I've run out of clean underwear and I think that one must have gotten mixed up in the laundry."
"Um…" Luca pointed at the ground.
"Oh, thanks!" Owen lit up. "I've already worn the current one inside out twice. This is my backup one in case."
After he left, the boys in the cabin exchanged awkward looks.
"No freaking way," Duncan grumbled.
"Did not need to know all of that," Tyler mumbled.
Jaedan shook his head, smiling and saying, "just another day on Total Drama."
Harold- 5
Tyler- 3
Duncan- 2
Hope you enjoyed.
