Chapter 9- Sins of the father Part 4
New York City... Yesterday at OsCorp
In the dimly lit office atop the towering Oscorp building, Norman Osborn sat behind his grand desk, his fingers steepled as he contemplated the city sprawled out beneath him. The city was his playground, but there was always another player vying for control. And today, that player had arrived.
One rainy evening, the two men Norman, clad in a sharp suit with a glint of arrogance in his eyes, and Wilson, towering over the crowd with an air of calculated control, exchanged a nod of acknowledgment before engaging in conversation.
Norman, with a polite smile masking his underlying ambition, initiated the dialogue. "Mr. Fisk, a pleasure to see you here. I must admit, your influence in this city is quite impressive."
Fisk returned the smile with a nod, his gaze piercing through Norman's facade. "Likewise, Mr. Osborn. Your advancements in the field of technology are commendable."
As the conversation unfolded, it inevitably veered towards their shared pasts. Norman, with a touch of nostalgia, reminisced about his father, a brilliant scientist whose legacy fueled his own ambitions. "My father was a visionary, you know. His brilliance knew no bounds. He laid the foundation for everything I've achieved with OsCorp."
Fisk's demeanor softened ever so slightly as he too delved into memories of his own father, a man whose name still echoed through the alleys of Hell's Kitchen. "My father was a different kind of man. A man of the streets, but with a code of honor that few understood. He taught me the value of power, of respect."
There was a fleeting moment of understanding between the two men, a recognition of the shared burden of legacy. Both had been shaped by the shadows of their fathers, their paths diverging but their ambitions intertwined.
Norman's eyes glinted with a newfound curiosity as he probed further. "And what of your father, Mr. Fisk? How did his legacy shape the man you've become?"
Fisk's gaze hardened, the memories of his father's teachings mingling with the harsh realities of his upbringing. "My father taught me that in this city, power is everything. He may have been a small-time hood, but he commanded respect. I learned from him that to survive, one must adapt, one must be willing to do whatever it takes."
The conversation lingered in the air like a storm cloud, charged with unspoken truths and hidden agendas. In the world they inhabited, where power was the ultimate currency, the echoes of their fathers' legacies reverberated with each calculated move they made.
A flicker of anger crossed Norman's features, quickly masked by a mask of calm. "And what of you, Wilson? Are you not driven by ambition as well?"
Fisk chuckled, a low, menacing sound. "Of course, I am. But unlike our fathers, I am not blinded by it. I see the bigger picture, the long game. And right now, that game involves dealing with Daredevil."
As if on cue, the windows of the office shattered, shards of glass raining down as Daredevil leaped into the room, his crimson costume a stark contrast to the darkness of the office.
Norman's lips twisted into a cruel smile. "Ah, just what I like to hear."
Now...
Spider-Man was confused as to why Daredevil is attacking him.
"Uhhhh...Daredevil, are you okay?" Spider-Man questioned, evading a punch effortlessly.
Daredevil wasn't listening as he swung again to Spider-Man, but he quickly dodges it.
"Too slow!" He quipped.
Daredevil tries to punch him again, but Spider man again dodges it
"Miss me again! You know Daredevil, have you ever thought of getting into a boxing career cause you would suck at it." Spider-Man teased.
I don't know what's going with Daredevil? He's been acting strange...could it be he on something? Heck, I would rather face Flash Thompson to see his ugly face being punched...Oh, who am I kidding? This is Daredevil we're talking about...Wait, I got an idea!
"Hey, Daredevil, wanna play catch me if you can?" Spider-Man teased as he web-zipped to the next building.
Daredevil stood poised, watching Spider-Man's every move before dashing after him.
Man, he's fast, Spider-Man thought as he swung from building to building, racing along each wall.
Then as Spider-Man looks back I lost him. Where could he gone? it doesn't matter now I got to get home before Aunt May will be upset with me.
Osborn Mansion...
Norman Osborn is on the phone speaking "No. No. No... Now, you listen here. I run this company I get to decide if-"
Now, he was annoyed at... such pettiness from the person on the phone and then his son Harry shows up
"Dad...uh Dad... I was wondering if me and Gwen could-"
He was cut off
"Harry, can't you see I'm busy!"
Harry was concerned "What's wrong, Dad? Why are you so angry all of the sudden?!"
"Bernard! Bernard! Would you get this kid outta here!"
Bernard shows Harry to the exit.
What's wrong with my dad? Ever since mom died... work is ALL he thinks about? Sometimes I wish I could help him.
"Thank you, Bernard." Said Norman in which Bernard nodded
"Now then... onto my real plan." Said Norman with a grin of smile that shows a hint of green.
Well didn't expect that did you! Chapter 10 coming soon!
