Ch.9

Make no mistake. DJ was prepared for anything let alone know every detail. But this has thrown him off big time as he did not expect this. Which happens to be getting himself a one on one personal tour of his new school by one of the school's Imperial Scholars. Heck, DJ nor his crew never thought about pulling up files on both the new or current students of Eden Academy. So, now he has to go clueless and work it out.

"Besides the library, the cafeteria is one of my favorite places in the school." Demetrius opened the door to the section.

"You don't say?." said DJ, entering inside.

The cafeteria is indeed massive as it is about the exact size as the auditorium. DJ took a good look at the area before Demetrius smiled before directing him towards the double staircase that leads to the double golden doors.

"See that door?. That is a private eating room for Imperial Scholars like myself. It is the most prized room in the whole cafeteria." explained Demetrius.

DJ nodded, his eyes glinting with interest. "And what makes it so special?."

Demetrius beamed with pride. "Well, firstly, it's the size. The room can comfortably seat up to twenty Imperial Scholars and their guests at once, making it perfect for private gatherings. Secondly, it comes with a personal attendant who caters to our every need, from setting up the table to serving the food along with having a live orchestra band. And lastly, but most importantly, it provides an exclusive atmosphere where we can discuss our academic pursuits without any distractions."

"Huh, color me impressed." said DJ, before giving a friendly smile. "I bet you have tons of excellent friends around here, since I bet you are the top best Imperial Scholar."

Demetrius chuckled. "Well, you are wrong on the second part, DJ. There is no such thing as the top best when it comes to Imperial Scholars. Despite being the leading students of the normal students of Eden, Imperial Scholars are all one. We are all the top best. And as for your first comment, yes, I do have tons of friends. But..."

DJ raised his brow as he truly was interested in where this conversation is going. "But what?."

Demetrius looked at DJ with a disappointed face expression. "But those so called friends are not my real friends. The only reason why they always try their hardest to get a seat next to me and my girlfriend or want to hangout with me is only because I am a Desmond."

"Oh. So, your last name is the one given you all the hype but no smoke." said DJ, understanding.

Demetrius took a second to process what DJ just said. "Y...Yeah. Yeah, that is what it looks like. Huh, I never see it that way but yes. You just have no idea how much I have to put up with in social gatherings with people always smiling at you and starting conversations that you are not even interested in. And boy, talk about getting praised for not doing a single thing to earn it. Every time I enter anywhere a few students praise me or give irritating, praising comments towards me. Bunch of kiss asses."

Demetrius is spot on about that one as DJ can fully relate to what he said. Being the greatest cartel boss of all time, DJ does deal with people who seeks his business and always kissing up or sweet talk him in order for him to bend over backwards with a big head. DJ hates kiss assing and sweet talking, since he sees it as an absolute insult and offensive to him. What came next have caught DJ off by surprise when Demetrius looked at him with a bright friendly smile.

"But you on the other hand, I can really see that you are not a kiss ass. You have this aura about you that makes people feel comfortable and respect you for who you are, not because of what family you come from. It's refreshing to see someone like you in this school, someone who doesn't need titles or fancy names to make them stand out." said Demetrius with a genuine smile.

DJ smirked. "You damn skippy, I am not a kiss ass. Boy, I will be irritated if I have to deal with it. If I have to deal with one today, I would tell him or her to beat it or I will put my...you get the idea."

Demetrius laughed. "Agree!. Man, I can not find anyone who has the same mindset as me. You are winning me over and we just met today."

"Hey, I am just as surprised as you. Shall we continue the tour?." said DJ.

"Yes, of course. Will take this way. I am going to show you to your dorm. Well our dorm. It's not that much different from a normal one, only that it's a bit larger and has some extra amenities." said Demetrius as he led DJ to the dorm.

The walk to the dorm took them to a long corridor with doors on both sides. The hallway had a few benches here and there where students could rest or chat with friends. The floor was made of polished wood and the walls were adorned with paintings and posters of famous Eden scholars throughout the years. The two took the elevator and went to the top floor where they will be living. When entering, Demetrius began telling DJ about the nice luxurious dorm home.

"Over here we have a nice fireplace. The exterior is made and carved from authentic pearls. It's mostly for show, but it does get cold up here so it's nice to have a bit of warmth." Demetrius gestured towards the elaborate fireplace, his voice filled with a mix of sarcasm and admiration for the school's extravagance.

"It is worth every single penny, if you ask me." said DJ, admiring the fireplace.

"Not my money, but I do see what you mean." Demetrius smiled. "Well, we also have a nice little game room over here. Pool table, foosball, darts, and a few arcade machines." he pointed to a door at the end of the hall. "It's not much, but it helps pass the time between classes."

"You guys have chess?. I am a master of the game of strategy." DJ added, before having a seat on the nice brown leather couch.

Demetrius, who is in the fridge, pulls out a bottle of nonalcoholic sparkling cider. "That is funny because my girlfriend is the queen of chess playing. I played a few rounds of the game. But she is way better than me." He said as he walked over to DJ.

He handed DJ his champagne glass of the drink that has two cubes of ice.

"You know how to make a nonalcoholic drink look fancy. Say, where are the other students?. I was expecting to see and mingle the moment you brought me up here." said DJ.

Demetrius holds his glass. "Our roommates are at home. You know, they have a thing with staying out late. I think they had a party last night. They will be here soon. Well, I can show you around if you want. You know where the bathroom is. The laundry room is just across the hall. We also have a study room with computers and a printer. If you need anything, just ask. Believe it or not, you are actually staying in one of the Imperial Scholars building."

"You kidding?. Now, I was wondering why you guys have arcade games when you mentioned that. Why did the higher ups put me in an Imperial Scholars dorm and not in a regular one?." asked DJ.

"Is it obvious?. You scored a perfect score on the entrance exam. No one scores a perfect score and brags about it. Well, I guess, I can say you can brag. The higher ups have without the shadow of the doubt that you will be an instant scholar, and thought that putting you here will motivate you in wanting to be an Imperial Scholar. You know, like having a carrot in front of a donkey." Demetrius said with a grin. "Don't worry. You don't have to do anything special. Just be yourself and focus on your studies. As long as you don't screw up, you will be fine."

"Not wanting to sound like an ass, but I never screw up when it comes down to schooling. Had great studying over the years." said DJ.

"With the score you made on the exam, yeah, I can see you are a standout. You must have a private top of the line tutor." said Demetrius.

"Oh, no, just one. He was the best that money can buy. He gave me lessons that are really important ones for the real world." said DJ, taking a sip of his drink.

"Well, that is good. You know, we have a study group here. It's not like one of those study groups that only talk about how much they party and how little they study. We actually study. If you want, you can join. It would be good for you to meet new people and make friends. There's this girl in the group. She's a math genius. If you need help with anything, you can ask her." said Demetrius, before looking at his watch. "My little brother will be attending this school this year. What a sore side. You think your little sister is going to do well here?."

DJ gave that a good thought. Yes, he did teached Anya the ideal grade level that she needs and such but taking the studying in her actual grade level is going to be an issue, since Ayna is not the idea of a studier. She can tell you everything in detail about Spy Wars and what merchandise is on sale, but she can not perform well in academics.

"Only the future can tell." responded DJ.

Demetrius nodded before pouring himself another glassful. "Well, you know what they say. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I hope she does. It would be good for your family."

"No kidding." DJ sip his drink. "Isn't your little brother's name Damian by any chance?."

"Yes." said Demetrius.

"Huh, it looks like our little siblings are in the same class group then. I hope they become friends like us." said DJ.

"No." Demetrius shook his head and smiled. "We're the best of friends."

DJ was in shock to hear those words. In all honesty, DJ never had friends. He never made a single one back in his original world in the city of Los Santos. He was tutored at home so that is a good halfway excuse, even though his mom takes him to the park in the attempt to make friends but did not work. Upon mysteriously coming to this world and began his cartel empire, DJ does not see a such thing as making friends and believes in buying them in money or marijuana. But today he was proven wrong. Today he made an actual friend. Not by buying friendship but naturally making it.

"To best friends." Demetrius raised his glass up.

DJ did the same. "To best friends."

After clicking their glasses and drinking their sparkle, Demetrius finishes up with his tour with DJ and takes him to the room where his parents and the other parents who were mingling amongst themselves until their kids return from the tour. DJ walked through and found Loid and Yor and met up with them.

"So, how was the tour?." asked Yor, with such interest.

"It was good." replied DJ. "I met and made friends with a dude named Demetrius. We got along on the first jump. He gave me a personal tour around the place."

"You mean Demetrius Desmond?. That is excellent, DJ." said Loid, who was both happy for DJ making friends with the boy and also already helping his mission out with such ease.

DJ looked around when seeing the first graders coming in and did not see Anya. "Uh, where is Anya?."

Before the three can even do anything, Headmaster Henderson walks up to them with a plain and serious face expression.

"Forgers?. May, I speak with you three alone?." said Headmasted Henderson.

When doing so he began telling them what had happened between Anya and Damian. He goes on to say that Anya had literally punched Damian before at first lying about it, but then said that she did it to help a friend she made whose name is Becky. Loid was in utter disbelief. DJ was livin it. Yor was comforting Anya in regret of her hand being the source of all of this. Anya had her head down in embarrassment.

"She hit the boy?." Loid asked the same question in disbelief.

"Ah, man, I just made friends with the boys brother." DJ facepalm.

"Oh, Anya did he hurt you!?." said Yor, checking on her in worry.

"As a result, Anya has officially gained a bolt for her actions today and we have not officially have the school open for learning yet. So, I would like you three to talk to her and make sure that she understands that what she did was wrong and that she should learn from this." said Headmaster Henderson.

This was such an utter embarrassment that neither the four can not ignore it throughout the whole day. It was so bad that they did not smile like the other families when taking a group picture together for the school's first yearbook page for the new edition section. All four had disappointed and embarrassed face expressions as they barely looked at the camera.
