Percy Jackson and the Olympians
The Truth Realized
Ch. 2- Some stories to tell
The two friends had reached Annabeth's apartment. Percy decides to sit on the couch and sighs. He refuses to believe that it wasn't all real. That he was just a regular mortal and not a demigod.
He was, indeed, relieved that he could live a normal life with Annabeth, who he was happy was real. But on the other hand, he is depressed that he had lived a lie for so long while lying in the hospital.
"This must be some sort of dream…I could wake up at any moment at Camp Half Blood. I just can't believe it may not be real…" muttered Percy
Annabeth notices that Percy seems depressed so she walks up to him.
"Percy, are you okay? Do you want anything?" asked Annabeth,
"Sure. Anything besides hospital food I guess…" said Percy, "I'll have just a sandwich"
Annabeth nods, and goes to make a sandwich for Percy.
A few minutes have passed and Annabeth hands Percy his sandwich.
"Thank you…" muttered Percy, with a forced smile, as he chews his sandwich
Annabeth decides to sit down next to him. She's concerned for him.
"What's wrong? Do you not like the sandwich?" asked Annabeth
"No, no. It's not that at all." said Percy, then he sighs "It's just that I can't believe I lived a lie for so long. You know when you have dreams for a long period of time and you think of them as real, only to wake up to find out they're not?"
Annabeth nods.
"Yes, I do," she said
"Well, that's what happened to me. I was in a supposed car accident when I was 12, during that horrible thunderstorm that almost killed us. My mom, me and Grover. You saved me, and you saved me in what you call my 'coma' as well. I dreamt that we were both Greek demigods, that us demigods attended a camp called 'Camp Half Blood'. Mr. Brunner, my Latin teacher from Yancy, was Chiron. He apparently took you in when you ran away from him to the camp. I was the son of Poseidon, Grover was a satyr, and you were the daughter of Athena. We had plenty of adventures. We made new friends and new enemies," said Percy
Annabeth smirks
"Sounds awesome huh? Me? The daughter of Athena? I would have loved to see that, it must have been fun," said Annabeth
"Yeah, you were such a know it all," Percy laughs
Annabeth sighs. She knew Helen wasn't really her biological mother. She was her step-mother. There were never any photos or any proof of her actually giving birth to Annabeth. No mention of a "Helen Chase" is displayed on Annabeth's birth certificate. However, when her father Frederick married Helen, Annabeth was only two years old and Frederick told her to call Helen, her mother rather than her stepmother. Annabeth believed Helen to be technically her mother as she was the woman that raised him half of her life along with her dad, but as she got older, Annabeth realized that there was not any resemblance between any of them. Not only did Helen loathe Annabeth, but she looked & acted nothing like Helen, and she had to sit and wonder who actually is her biological mother.
Annabeth wishes that she was able to run away from home without ever being caught.
Percy then puts his hands on Annabeth's shoulders.
"Listen Annabeth, you may think this stuff was fun had you not been on a quest before, but try, just try to go and get yourself killed. That's what these quests were. I was in danger of dying at 16 and most demigods don't have that long of lives. The gods were also pretty harsh at times. In fact, they can kill you if you dare do something that would piss them off. My father, Poseidon, tried to love me and he still did care, but he just couldn't. He was bound by the ancient laws and although he proved himself to be a decent father later on, the first thing he said to me was that he regretted I was born," said Percy
Annabeth gasps.
"I'm sorry Percy. You didn't deserve to go through that," said Annabeth
"I know. So I had to sit and wonder if he ever loved Mom. Like at all. For all he know, he may have seen my mother as not a human being," said Percy "The gods were pigs and honestly, I am glad it wasn't real and that I can finally live a normal life with you,"
Percy then puts his hand over his mouth and blushes
Annabeth giggles.
Percy breathes.
"When you told me while I was passed out, 'you were the one', the coma said that I was supposed to be a part of a prophecy or something like that, but my mind somehow knew it had to be more than that. I believe what you said in my subconscious was that I was the one for you," Percy said, while blushing "You always looked exactly the same in the coma as you do here in real life. You are the most beautiful and wonderful girl I met. You were my princess and still are. It's not just your looks but your personality. If I were you, I would tell Helen to screw off. She doesn't deserve to have you as her daughter,"
Annabeth blushes at Percy, and sighs
"T-thanks Percy," said Annabeth
"It's not a problem. Anything I can do to help one of my best friends," said Percy,
Percy keeps chewing on his sandwich. Annabeth stays quiet for a bit and then decides to say something.
"What if your coma dream was sort of a prediction?" asked Annabeth.
Percy has a puzzled look on his face and cocked his eyebrows.
"Let me rephrase that. What if what you had dreamt of in the coma was in the future? Like a prediction of what the future will be like for us, with finding out that we are demigods and all?" asked Annabeth.
Percy scratches his chin as he continues eating his sandwich.
"Hm…you may be on to something, Annabeth" said Percy

In another apartment, in New Jersey, a young, 12-year-old, long black haired kid with what appears to be a military like jacket, is smiling. He is playing a little card game called "mythomagic." A slightly older girl, who is his older sister and thus his guardian, is smiling at him while he's playing it.
"Nico is always cute when he's playing this little game of his. He's so happy. I would hate to leave him." the girl, thought, smiling
The boy, who is named Nico, looks at his sister.
"Bianca, please, stay. Don't leave me." said Nico,
His older sister, who is named Bianca, ruffles his hair and pats her little brother on the shoulder.
"I won't leave you. Ever. I promise." she said
