Fan fiction The Land Before Time: Uninvited Guests Part 5

What did Cera had in mind? What kind of poison was she talking about and how was she going to use it against the poison spitters and the unwanted guests in the Great Valley? Would it save her from them. It had to save all the Great Valley. How did she start it? Cera knew the worst poison did not come from anything special like that of the poison spitters instead she relied on her secret weapon, her tongue. Nothing was so venomous.

She sang to Littlefoot. "So dangerous is the word of mouth. Danger is around about when Rumors are spreading. Rumor is a nasty lie that for some reason everyone seems like to talk about."

"Did you hear what they said?" A bigmouth whimpered to a spike tail. "One of the old leader of the far wandering herd is getting so old, so he becoming slow. So old, so slow that if he can't keep up with herd, he might as well give up so the rest can survive."

"Rumors, rumors, rumors, they are so many rumors. Nothing was so venomous that it was rendezvous about time, we learned that ridge heads were spitting out tales about others in the Great Valley." Cera sang."I heard they say Red Claw is a sissy." Cera giggled. Chomper repeated what Cera had said in sharp tooth when Red claw was nearby close enough to hear . Red Claw was not happy. "It was not polite to be rude." Cera scolded Chomper, "Even if it is about Red Claw."

"UU, When I found out, I will curse, oh, when Red Claw finds out; it will be worse." Chomper thought about Red Claw.

"The ridge heads are sharp teeth that spit poison from their mouth, but they are not as lethal, as much as a rumor being told ." Little foot sang, "Certainly not as scary as calling Red Claw a little girl hatchling."

Cera told other leaf eaters what she had heard from the ridge heads who were really poison spitters about the other leaf eaters.

"I heard that the new three horn leader's mate from the far wanderers is rather fat, that would make a great snack for a sharp tooth running past. I hope she see, along with the herd, everyone has to move fast." Dilo gossiped to her sister in front of the far wanderers. Old Long horn and old fat three horn are getting upset as they imagine old fat three horns and elderly plump longnecks that are being attacked by sharp teeth. Different types of herd dinosaurs talking about each other and other different dinosaurs about each other. Some look at other dinosaurs and giggle. Poison spitters were always talking to other dinosaurs about other dinosaurs.

"Big beaks are chatty. They always gossip about others." Some spike tails look at the big beaks smiling as the big beaks look at them smiling. Soon, the rumors reached the spike tails and big beaks who became angry.

"Rumors, Rumors, let's start some today. Rumors, Rumors, let's start them anyway." Cera sang.

"I heard from a reliable source," said Bigmouth mother that wasn't Ducky's and Spike's to Long neck mother. "Ourselves, of course, even went to the poison spitters who told them more gossip."

"Rumors, Rumors, where do they start? It is not all nice to say falsehoods even if they are true. Jealousy is a reason why they start." Cera sang.

"Ruby can babysit your baby sharp tooth. She is great with little hatchlings." Little foot told the poison spitters so they could go on gossiping with the others. The poison spitters let Ruby babysit Chomper while they went to gossiping with other newcomers. Ruby, and Chomper with Gub Gub in tow left the Poison spitters' lair to hide somewhere else until it was safe to come out. Not that the poison spitters were ever going to noticed that Chomper and Ruby had left their lair. Other dinosaurs would come to talk to the Poison spitters to offering up what they had heard.

"Rumors, Rumors, didn't they bite? Don't they hurt?" Little foot sang. "Rumors, oh Rumors, go away."

"The tongue was igniting when it could be so frightening."Cera sang. As everyone now loathed the ridge heads(poison heads) and each other about the gossip they were spreading about.

"Bigmouths are so happy, they are so gay, Licking each other in so many ways." A fat Three horn said to Tria.

"What ? Who is gay?" Wild Arms flew around asking.

"I heard ridge heads have sharp teeth, it so they eat sharp beaks and their eggs." Cera talked to other three horn newcomers.

"Cera!" Little foot exclaimed, "Do you want the poison spitters to eat the newcomers?" Cera said nothing. One of the three horns told Dippy by accident.

"Really?" Dippy reacted.

"Dippy, no? You give our cover up." Dilo scolded.

"We know already what you are? You are poison spitters who spit poisonous things," hissed a spike tail. "You are as bad as a three horn."

"You are as bad as Long neck!" yelled another herb eating dinosaur arguing at the spike tail.

"Hmm!" Spike nodded with his head in agreement underneath some bushes.

"Oh yes, oh yes, they are, oh yes are they." Ruby said next to him and Chomper.

"Where Gub, Gub?" Chomper asked, "He was here ago."

"Probably left for somewhere safer." Ruby worried about the poison spitters.

"Rumors poison, spit, spit, spit. The gossip spreading to what was happening in the Great Valley." All kinds of herb eating dinosaurs sang.

"Our food is being eaten away by those newcomers." Sang Grandma Long neck

"We have as much right to the food as you do," told another old Long neck to her.

"Our water is running out." Duckie's mother cried out.

"There is too many spike tails," moaned Long neck.

"Too many Long necks," frowned Petrie's mother.

"There is just too many. Something has to be done" Daddy Three horn snorted angrily.

"Let the poison spitters eat them." A voice sounded a lot like Cera called out.

"Cera, do you really want to newcomers to be eaten by the poison spitters?" Littlefoot asked.

Cera looked solemnly at Littlefoot.

"Yes, the ridge heads are poison spitters. Ridge heads are poison spitters." confirmed Ruby when asked by Grandpa Longneck

"Hey, you are supposed to be taken care of our baby." Dilo hissed with her painted frill opened.

"You are a sharp tooth." Grandpa Longneck snorted.

"Yes," Both Dilo and Dippy answered back.

"Why would an herb eater want a sharp tooth baby?" asked strange sharp beak.

"What ? They are sharp teeth." Cera remarked trying to control her anger.

"To keep as a pet." Chuckled an even stranger three horn.

"They are the sharp teeth who have been eating and poisoning your babies. Hello?" Cera snapped more annoyed.

"Sharp teeth are not welcome here. You must leave." Threatened Grandpa Longneck.

One day, all the newcomers and the older Great Valley Residents decided to have a meeting to deal with all the problems going on. It was too late. More and more dinosaurs were becoming angry at each other so much they started leaving the Great Valley with their herds. Even the Poison Spitters are upset that they, too left running away frightened because of the rumors. Some dinosaurs left stomping away. Some snorting with red eyes. Others tearful, embarrassed, and scared.

"Rumors, rumors, rumors, how they hurt." Cera ended her song sadly.

The meeting was like all the other Great Valley meetings. They were held at night.

"Since none of the newcomers have stayed to voice their concerns, I guess, we have nothing to say." Grandpa Long neck announced.

"Good riddance! They were rude, nasty and spreading all kind of lies abut us and the Great Valley even saying things about Red Claw for some reason." Grandma Long neck added.

"The Great Valley was getting too crowded and noisy because of them?" Tria said.

"Those newcomers weren't eating all the grass, tree stars and drinking all the water from our lakes and ponds." Duckie's mother said.

"We had no place to walk around." Hyp's father piped in.

"Those far walkers went everywhere to have their business." Petrie's mother said while making a disgusted face.

"Yup, Yup," Duckie said while waving her hand over her snout.

"Phew!" Spike went.

"Yes, they were saying lies about their herd leaders, too," remarked a tall Longneck.

"That was Cera." Little foot told.

"Tattle egg!" Cera growled. "I know I did wrong by saying those lies about others, but I couldn't let those poison spitters get away with eating all those young hatchlings even if they were newcomers. They had to be stopped. They were also holding one of my friends as prisoners in their home."

"You really care about me?" Chomper asked.

"Don't start that!" Cera shouted.

"That was very brave, Cera, but still foolishly dangerous." Grandpa Longneck said.

"Those poison spitters met their match with my poison 'll never forget it . I showed them." Cera boasted.

After the meeting ended, the resident went back to their way. Nothing more was heard of the poison spitters or said about them. Life went on in the Great Valley.

The End
