Survival
Chapter Eight
After some time Kowalski decided to swim back to the flying hopefully to try the radio again. He had told Sharkey what he would try with sending a message to anyone that might be in the area of them.
"And what makes you think Kowalski that the radio is going to be working?" Sharkey had barked back to his friend.
The both of them had been getting sick and tired of eating the fish along with the rest of their supplies. "I have to try nevertheless Sharkey." He cried out about getting his swimming equipment together.
Sharkey watched him leave jumping into the cold water and heading out and down to where they had left the damaged flying sub.
It didn't take all that long for Kowalski to reach the flying sub and push himself inside.
After getting inside. Kowalski noticed that the oxygen levels were just about normal. He was hoping that the radio would be able to send a code.

On board the Seaview late evening.
Patterson had been asked to work the radio shack in place of the overnight radioman Jeffries sick with a slight cold. He had been scanning all of the bans when he received an S.O.S. signal that was weak.
It continued as he was able to bring it in to figure out the location. He continued to bring in the message only to find out it was from the flying sub and Kowalski.
This is when he called Commander Anderson to work overnight after Commander Morton had signed the log in the book. Anderson came over to Patterson having to make sure it was from the flying sub.
"Are you sure, Patterson?" the commander had to be sure to call the Captain and Admiral Nelson.
"Of course, I am sure Commander! I have the location of the flying sub and Sharkey's along with Kowalski's location finding a small underground cavern. They are alive and well having to be eating fish and their supplies." Patterson says with a hint of a smile since his friend Patterson is still alive and well.
Moments later…
Captain Lee Crane had been trying to sleep to be restless when he got the call from the Control room. "I will be there in ten minutes, Commander Anderson. Have you made the course adjustment as yet?" he asked calmly pulling off his black robe to get himself dressed.
Meanwhile, the Seaview had made the course adjustment with both Nelson and Captain Lee Crane on the way to the Control room.
Patterson didn't have to wait a long time for both officers to arrive at the radio shack. "What do you have Patterson?" Captain Lee Crane asked knowing the situation already.
"Sir, it was Kowalski having sent the S.O.S. telling us the coordinates of their location for both the flying sub having been damaged along with the two finding an underwater cavern to survive by eating fish and their supplies." Patterson had to say after receiving another message. But this time it was coded in Russian coming from the Siberian Tiger.
"Son of a bitch! " Nelson hollered out with his response. "I need the Control Room to search for the Siberian Tiger for us to get back Doctor Mendez and his personnel."
"I agree, sir. I will get them right on it." Lee tells him.
"No, you won't Captain. You're going back to bed until the morning. I want Commander Anderson and the crew now in the Control Room to work on trying to find the Siberian Tiger." Nelson ordered.
"Yes, sir," Lee said calmly moving to Commander Anderson standing at the plotting table to be given the news.
Turning to face the tired-looking Captain say the following. "I will see to it, Captain." Commander Anderson moved from the plotting table to talk with engineering and other departments to change the course towards the coordinates of the flying sub and the cavern."

SIBERIAN TIGER
It would seem that the Russian security personnel were somewhat rough on two of the women when it came to the Captain's orders. The only woman to survive the severe torture and sexual abuse was Doctor Mendez's wife Louise. When Doctor Mendez had found out the truth he had gone ballistic with the news and wished he could get his hands around Captain Richter.
However, Captain Richter had been angry that his security personnel were a little too harsh on the two English women from the London Institute. He asked his second-in-commander to take action against those having overdone it with the treatment.
Speaking in Russian. He will say the following. "I will see to it and their punishment Captain Richter.
"I didn't want this to happen. Only to scare them for the most part." Captain Richter tells him with remorse in his tone of voice.
Turned to face the captain, to be honest with his next words. "Maybe, Captain, we should contact the Seaview and hand those left over to them by making some sort of a deal," he commented expecting the Captain to shoot him. But instead, it was the opposite.
"I will think about it, Commander. The Kremlin isn't going to like the idea of letting them go and over to the American's submarine Seaview?" he says trying to keep himself calm the best he could.
"We can always work the Black Market and get paid for our work away from the Russian Government!" The commander will say to please the captain.
"Again I will let you know within the hour on my decision to contact the Seaview." Captain Richter said to his commander. He knew that many of the crew on board the Siberian Tiger would be willing to work the seas elsewhere for much better pay.
Captain Richter watched the commander leave his quarters. He was hoping for the best without the American submarine to blow them out of the waters.
