'3 kilometers to go...' A young man with blond spiky hair, three whisker marks, and blue eyes was running. His breathing was controlled and calm; although he had already walked 7 kilometers, he didn't seem exhausted at all. You couldn't see a single drop of sweat all over his body, and in general, this young man seemed to be reasonably fit.

This young man was Naruto Uzumaki; he was currently wearing a black tracksuit and was running outside on a small road and doing his rounds. He lived in Tokyo, and outside the city, there was a street that once ran entirely around the city. It led to several intersections either away from the city or into the city.

He ran and watched the sunset. Naruto stopped at some point on a hill where cars could park. At the moment, there was no one there, but he had a strange feeling. He looked around carefully and knew what it was. Right in front of him was a barrier, a magic to keep people from interfering in things they shouldn't see. 'It would probably be better if I stayed out of it... whatever is going on behind it.' He shrugged his shoulders and looked at his watch. It showed 9 p.m.

Typically, the sun would have set long ago at this time, but it was summer, and the sun didn't set entirely until half past 10. Only from 10 o'clock was it usually wholly dark, and that meant he could stretch his legs a bit. After all, he still had to run a few kilometers before he finished his training today.

He went down briefly, stretched his legs, and then set off again but did not pay any further attention to the barrier. As he ran on, he did not hear any birds or other animals. This was more than strange; no matter when he ran there, he always heard some animal, even if it was a mouse. He tried to catch any traces of animals in the adjacent forest while running along the road. However, he could not find any. He really didn't know what to make of it.

After he had finished his 10 kilometers, he returned to the hill to overlook the city. He had already completely forgotten the barrier; he saw the typical houses and the skyscrapers that stood in the center of Tokyo. Although it had long been dark, the whole city was still bright by the lights of the street lamps and the houses. In his old homeland, he also enjoyed looking over his village while it was at night.

He climbed over the guardrail that separated the road from the small grassy hill, lay down a little in the grass, and looked at the stars. He did this every time after he was done with his training for the day.

He took a deep breath and then exhaled again. He loved this fresh night air; in contrast to the warm air during the day, the fresh night air was charming. He lay down for a few minutes before he got up to make his way to his house. He could spend all his time in the world, and after all, he lived alone.

He was climbing over the guardrail again when he looked up and observed something extraordinary. Above was the forest, and suddenly, a girl with red hair flew out of a bush. 'Isn't that?' He jumped up and caught her and slit with her a little down the grassy hill until they came up, and he rolled forward with her. He always kept her protected away from the ground. He slid with her over the floor for a while until a voice rang out, "Watch out behind you!" Behind him was a shadow that looked like the classic Grim Reaper from horror stories. Naruto jumped up with the girl in his arms, avoiding the scythe's momentum. When he landed, he pushed himself forward and kicked the shadow onto his back. The shadow began to fly and dissipated in flight. Naruto landed and slid a meter above the ground until he laid the girl on the ground. The girl was just unconscious. 'Must have been a hard push. You don't just fly several meters through the air.'

He noticed deep circles under the girl's eyes, and that signaled only one thing to him. 'She must have been very exhausted. In addition, there was the pain from the impact. This was probably enough to knock her unconscious.' Naruto knelt and started to check Mio out a bit. Pulse? Still stable. Breathing? Still available. Tremble? Nonexistent.

A girl with silver hair came to Naruto's side and waited to see what Naruto had to say. She was amazed at how quick reflexes this person had and that he only needed one kick to finish off the lesser demon. In addition, the two were in a difficult position; although she didn't trust him completely, he didn't want the death of the two. This was a fact that she acknowledged, and this was enough for her for the time being. After all, many wanted the death of the two girls at the moment, and he also helped her.

Naruto supported himself on his knee, "She'll be ok. However, she needs a good dose of rest."

He looked over his shoulder, and the girl with the silver hair froze briefly. "What are you two doing out here so late? Shouldn't you be at home?"

That's true; they should actually be "at home". However, their last accommodation was a failure, and with good reason. They actually wanted to deceive two people, send them to safety, and then use the house as a base. However, it turned out that the younger person was a hero. He had spared them, but now they had no place to go to, and with all the devils swirling around here, it would be too dangerous to spend the night outside. Her mistress, Mio Naruse, gave off a power that attracted lesser demons.

In addition, her mistress was now unconscious, and she was also very exhausted. The fighting had left its mark, even on her. She would only need a way to buy more time.

She looked into Naruto's eyes and didn't see anything provocative or anything like that. There was no danger from this person, and then an idea came to her. A temporary home to regain strength would be just the thing. This person seems to know magic, and so it would be pointless to deceive him.

"We are on the run. We are the targets of many people, and we have lost our last place to stay. I would ask you if you can provide us with a temporary place to stay so that we can recover and regain our strength. Lady Mio is my mistress, and I am responsible for her, I beg you! I would do anything to make sure we have a safe place to sleep!"

"What's your name?" Maria looked at Naruto with wide eyes; she forgot to introduce herself! "Oh, I'm sorry! My name is Maria Naruse."

Naruto remained silent after that, and Maria watched him as he looked over the city. He started to smile slightly. Maria was a bit confused, and before she could ask, Naruto looked at her again.

"Don't worry; I will definitely not stand by and watch two injured people being left to their fate just like that. You can come with me for now." Naruto turned around again and took the unconscious Mio in his arms like a bride and started to walk towards his house.

Maria didn't know what to say, but she didn't complain. After all, this is a way to regain strength, and maybe she and her mistress will have a chance to become a strong ally of this person!

She ran a bit until she was next to Naruto, and then she walked happily next to him. "Oh yes, just by the way. Lady Mio is the daughter of the former Demon King; I hope you'll take good care of her!" She said this in a cheerful voice.

Naruto remained outwardly calm and just kept walking. Maria, however, saw the short twitch of his eyebrow and knew that she got him at that moment. She grinned and continued to walk happily next to her protector, while it was a bit chaotic inside Naruto.

'Seriously? Naruse is the daughter of the former Demon King?' Naruto suddenly started to smile slightly and for the same reason as just now. 'Seems so, no matter what world I'm in. A life without problems or interference is probably not possible.'

Maria saw the smile again and did not question it. She was too cheerful at the moment to think much about a simple smile.

A few minutes later, the three arrived at Naruto's house. It was a beautiful house with two floors. There was a balcony on the upper floor that faced the street. The wall of the house was painted white, and the bricks of the house were dark grey. There were some windows on the sides of the house, but curtains were drawn everywhere.

Naruto managed to pull his key out of his pocket with one arm, even though he was still holding Mio in his arms. He leaned forward slightly and unlocked the door without Mio slipping off his arms. When the door was open, he pulled the key out of the door lock and went in. Maria followed him and closed the door behind her.

She now saw a hallway, as was customary in Japan. There was a small area where you could take off your shoes, and then came the wooden floor. She took off her shoes and put them next to the others.

Naruto took off his shoes while still holding Mio in his arms. He took off the other shoe with his feet. He then continued along the hallway until he came to a large room. There was a couch, a chest of drawers, a table with several chairs, a small kitchen, an armchair, and a TV on a TV table, and you could see a mirror.

Naruto put Mio down on the couch and turned to Maria. "I'll get towels now; medication is available in the right kitchen cupboard in case Mio shows signs of fever. See you soon." So Naruto went back into the hallway and went to the bathroom.

Maria looked at the exhausted Mio and sighed. They had more luck in misfortune than their liking. She never thought that someone from the hero clan would be here in Tokyo. She thought that they would live in her hidden village. She only realized when her eyes became very heavy how lucky they were that Naruto had appeared. If she thought about it now, she didn't even know his name yet. She would ask him right away when he came back.

Naruto came back into the living room a minute later with four white towels and put them on the table that stood in front of the couch. "I'm going to go prepare your rooms. Do you have any change of clothes or other goods somewhere in a hiding place?"

Maria shook her head slightly, "No, they stayed behind in our old shelter and were destroyed there."

Naruto scratched his head, "Where was your old shelter?"

Maria remained silent for a moment until she finally told him what happened and why they lost their shelter. However, she also told him the story of her mistress, how she was an average student until half a year ago, and then there was this incident where her parents were killed.

Naruto listened entirely until the end. Mio Naruse was a victim of something she had no control over. Just like himself, where he still lived in his old homeland.

Maria closed her eyes for a moment as Naruto raised her hand and guided her towards her head. She didn't know what to expect, but she felt someone gently put their hand on her head. She opened her eyes and saw Naruto with a warm smile. This smile showed nothing but encouragement and care.

"Don't worry, you don't have to run away from now on. I promise you that I will protect you." For 80% of people, these were only two simple words, but for Naruto Uzumaki, these were words that shaped his life. If Naruto ever promised something, he would keep that promise, no matter what.

Maria's eyes widened, and her voice just came out trembling: "W-why?"

Naruto took his hand off her head, "You know, I know what it's like to have no control over something that affects you. I won't let someone innocent suffer just like that. Not if I can do anything about it." So Naruto turned around and went out of the room, into the hallway, and up the stairs to prepare the rooms for the two.

Maria turned to her sleeping mistress with a smile. 'Lady Mio, we have found a strong ally after all. I'm so glad for you.' Maria trusted Naruto entirely by now. First, he saves her mistress, and now this. She didn't know when it happened, but there was something about this person that just captivated you.

She started to grin slightly perversely as she went through all the possibilities of what could happen in the distant future. After all, she was a succubus, and that was her nature.

Not much happened for the rest of the evening. Maria managed to find out Naruto's name after all and even thought she knew him from somewhere. Naruto prepared the two guest rooms in his house for the two of them and then put Mio to bed. Maria also took a shower that same evening to wash all the dirt off her skin and secretly began to make plans about what she would do with the two of them. There are so many possibilities!

Mio slept the whole time and didn't notice any of this. When it was already very late, Maria made a proper meal for Maria. She had a lack of energy due to the last few days, and Naruto's strong food made Maria feel much better. After that, Naruto went straight to sleep because he had school again tomorrow.

The next day, Naruto woke up again before the sun even rose. How much sleep did he have that night? He didn't know. However, he didn't need too much sleep. If he could get a lot of sleep, he slept a lot. However, he was still used to getting by on his old life with sometimes only 3 hours of sleep per night. So Naruto got up and went out of the room and down the stairs. He went into the bathroom and took a towel from a small cupboard that was below the sink. He hung it next to the shower, undressed, and then went into the shower. When the warm water began to flow over his skin, he thought a little. 'So Naruse was the daughter of the former Demon King all along? No wonder, which is why she was sometimes out of school for a few days. She must have learned magic from Maria. At least that would fit and match what Maria told me yesterday.'

After a few minutes, he turned off the shower and opened the door of the shower. He took the towel and started to dry himself from the head. His spiky hair didn't lose its hold, even when it was wet, and that never ceases to amaze Naruto. He wrapped the towel around his waist and walked out of the bathroom and up the stairs. When he reached the top, he went to Maria and Mio's two rooms and opened only a tiny crack to see if they were okay. Both slept peacefully, and that was enough for him at the time. He went back to his room after he had quietly closed both doors again and put on black shorts and an orange T-shirt. So he went down and sat down on the couch for a while. He turned on the TV and looked through the programs until he found what he was looking for. The weather forecast today should be sunny as always.

He turned off the TV and went to the kitchen, which was in the same room. He opened the fridge, took out the milk, and took a good sip from it. 'Milk in the morning is still the best.' He put the milk back again and looked at the clock. He still had about 2 hours until he had to go to school, and that meant that he could prepare food for the day.

He took some ingredients from the still-open refrigerator and put them on the work surface. He then closed the fridge again and started cutting and preparing the ingredients. He always did this in the morning when he had enough time left. So he didn't have to do this work after school, and he could save time cooking food in the afternoon.

After he was done, he put all the ingredients he had worked on back in the fridge and cleaned over the work surface. He used to be quite a Messi when it came to order in his old apartment. However, he now liked it when everything was clean. He rinsed the rag and hung it up to dry. Then he went upstairs to his room.

His room was the one with the balcony. In addition to the window to the balcony, there was a large bed, a large wardrobe, a desk with a laptop and a lamp on it, and a shelf with books in the room. On the whole, the room looked simple but cozy. It was neat and clean. He took off his T-shirt and pants and laid them neatly on his bed. Then he opened his wardrobe and took out a school uniform. He put it on and then went out onto the balcony to get some fresh air before he had to leave right away.

After a few minutes, he went back in and closed the window door behind him. He took his bag and walked out of the room. When he quietly reached the bottom, his eyes narrowed as he looked out of a window at the sky. He felt a familiar strong and warm aura again. He had felt this aura many times before; it resembled that of a hero, and yet it was different. As always, he tried to find the direction where the aura came from, and the same thing happened. As quickly as the aura was felt, it always disappeared. 'Whoever that is, I wonder what this is all about. This person or being, whatever is behind it, doesn't seem to be up to any harm.' He shook his head and walked to the dining table. He took a piece of paper out of his trouser pocket and laid it on the table. It said that he was in school and would come back immediately afterward. His number was also written on it, in case something should happen. He saw Maria lying next to her bed with a cell phone. He also knew that Mio had a cell phone, so the two had the opportunity to reach him.

It would be interesting when he came back anyway. He was curious if Mio would be awake by then and if Maria would explain the situation to her. He took his key from the drawer of the chest of drawers and went to the door. He put on his shoes and then went off to school. His house was only a 15-minute walk from the school, and he was happy about it.

As always, he arrived at the school very early and went straight into the building. He was usually the first in class; today was no different. As he walked through the corridors of the almost empty school, he met the school's nurse. The name of this was Chisato Hasegawa. To briefly describe her appearance, she had massive breasts, long slender legs, long black hair, and those green eyes where most people get lost. In short, Chisato Hasegawa was lovely.

"Good morning, Uzumaki; as always, one of the first?" Chisato Hasegawa also wore glasses, and this only made her more attractive in the eyes of many. Naruto bowed slightly, "Good morning, Mrs. Hasegawa, looks like this."

"How are you, Uzumaki? You look a bit exhausted." Chisato Hasegawa looked directly at him with her usual serious look. This was known to everyone; she rarely grimaced and held this gaze most of the time.

"Thank you very much for your concern, but I'm fine." Naruto was okay so far; he probably had a tiny little sleep, but it didn't bother him. He was still used to it from his old life.

"If you feel strange, please come directly to the infirmary." Naruto bowed slightly, "I'll do it right away. Thank you very much, Mrs. Hasegawa."

Chisato Hasegawa walked past him: "I wish you a nice day, Uzumaki. Maybe we'll see each other later." Her white coat turned elegantly with every step she took.

Naruto walked on and eventually arrived at his classroom. He opened the door and saw no other of his classmates in his class. He wondered where his teacher, Mr. Sakasaki, was. He was usually already in the classroom at this time and was signing his documents for class.

He sat down in his seat and looked out of the window at a nearby tree where a bird was feeding its young. 'This peaceful atmosphere is the best.'

A short time later, the teacher came in, followed by a girl with light blue hair and yellow eyes. This girl was Yuki Nonaka; she was the most popular girl in his school, next to Mio Naruse. She was also the class representative of his class and was probably always in the class after Naruto. She was at the top of the class when it came to grades.

She looked at Naruto and greeted him by nodding at him. Naruto raised his hand and greeted her back. Did he knew her personally? No. He only knew her from seeing and greeting or saying goodbye. He had never had a real conversation with her before, and that didn't bother him. He was one of the few that didn't adore her. Naruto would never deny that Yuki Nonaka was attractive, and rightly so. However, he was not like the other boys in his age group. He had already experienced so much that his mental age was already far ahead of his physical age.

Today, however, was a bit strange; Yuki Nonaka, who usually sat in the front, sat down quite far back and right in front of Naruto. Naruto raised an eyebrow and wondered what all this was about. After a moment's thought, he shrugged his shoulders, turned his gaze outside again, and waited until the other students came in and the lesson began.

Two hours later, there was a break, and Naruto decided to sit in his seat and put his head on his table. The break lasted 45 minutes, and he could catch up on some sleep. He wouldn't need it, but why wouldn't he? Sleep was always good, whether you needed it or not.

In front of him, Yuki Nonaka turned around briefly and watched Naruto for a moment as he lay there with his head on his table in his arms and tried to get some sleep. She turned around again, took out her box where her food was inside, and quietly began to eat.

Some guys watched, and all had a thought: 'Is she interested in Uzumaki?!' However, they said goodbye to this thought when they saw Yuki Nonaka got up and walked out of the classroom with her box.

When Naruto woke up, he opened his eyes wide and looked around with narrowed eyes. He felt it again. The aura he had felt so many times. This time, it was much closer than usual. 'Is the person who gives off this aura at this school? No, that can't really be; this is the first time that I felt this aura so close. I have often felt her during school days, and she was never so close there.' He got up and walked out of the classroom quickly. He slept for 20 minutes, which meant he still had some time left over from the break. This time, he was able to make out an approximate direction of where the aura had come from before it disappeared. He went to the roof and looked south to the gym. As always, some students were there and talked to each other about God and the world. Naruto tried to discover something strange but couldn't. He looked down and saw Yuki Nonaka just going back into the building. He was closely followed by Chisato Hasegawa, who two boys followed. The two boys had scratches on their arms. Naruto turned his gaze back towards the gym and watched them for another 2 minutes until he looked at the clock on his wrist and saw that he had 5 minutes left.

He sighed, 'It will probably take some time before I can find the person. I wonder why this aura feels so familiar to me.'

Naruto went back into the building and then back into the classroom, where the class teacher and Yuki Nonaka were already sitting. He sat down again in his seat and looked ahead. Not much exciting happened until the end of school, except that he had talked to a classmate again. He got along quite well with him and found him relaxed. This classmate was Yahiro Takigawa, a pretty quiet and open guy. He was usually quite relaxed and was always open to new things. He even told Naruto how he would like to have a date with Chisato Hasegawa.

When the bell rang at the end of school, the teacher said goodbye and left the classroom. Many students now went on to their club activities, but Naruto was not a member of any club and had no interest in it. He got up and walked with the other classmates from the classroom through the long corridors of the school.

Today, he would go home differently than usual. Today, he walked the fast way, which meant he would sprint home at high speed. For that, however, he would have to be alone first so that no one would watch him. He went into an empty corridor and prepared himself. He took a deep breath and concentrated on his breathing. Even after he lost the ability to mold chakra because his chakra network was damaged when he came into this world, he was by no means weak or slow. He had achieved strength through a different method. He tensed his legs after he regulated his breath and vanished after he took two steps.

There would also be the new thing called Sacred Gear, which he got after he woke up. But this wasn't so important right now. The only thing that mattered was that he was strong enough to beat his enemies. He was sure he would have many enemies in the future just alone because of the fact he was protecting the daughter of the former demon king. Fallen angels, angels, heroes, and even yokai would most likely be his enemy. The church would also be a factor he had to consider.
