"Hey, Sasuke-kun... did you know that your ears turn red when you lie?"

Sasuke turned his head to the right to meet his pink-haired teammates gaze, slightly caught off guard by her sudden question.

Team 7 had embarked out on a C-ranked mission to the Land of Rain early that morning, it being their first real mission in weeks. The journey had been mostly silent, aside from Naruto and Sakuras occasional bickering, which, despite being a tad chaotic, hadn't touched on any particular topics that would prompt such an question.

"Huh? No they don't," Sasuke said a matter-of-factly.

"Yes they do. Only a little, but still. I think it's cute." Sakura giggled, clasping her hands together behind her back as they walked.

"Pfft!" Naruto snorted. "Your ears get red when you lie- man, thats lame."

"Tsk.. shut up. They don't do that," Sasuke grumbled, annoyance slipping through his voice as he turned his focus back to the gravel path in front of them.

Naruto began to laugh loudly, gripping onto Sakuras shoulder with his left hand to stabilize himself while he used the other to point at the now scowling boy.

"Hah! Look at his ears, Sakura," Naruto choked out in between cackles. "They're turning red right now!"

Sakura couldn't help but snicker, her laughter only growing when she caught sight of the piercing glare Sasuke directed at the two of them.

"You two are infuriating. I hate you both," Sasuke hissed as the tips of his ears turned an even deeper shade of red.

Seeing Sasukes futile attempt at maintaining his cold personality only amused Naruto and Sakura more, knowing their teammate didn't truly believe the fierce words coming out of his mouth.

Tears welled up in the corners of Sakuras eyes as she wrapped her arms around her abdomen, a desperate attempt to calm her body down from her still ongoing laughing fit. Narutos own laughter caused him to lose his grip on Sakuras shoulder and tumble to the ground, which only made them laugh harder, their roaring echoing through the forest.

Sasuke then focused his glare onto their sensei, who had been quietly observing from a few steps back, clearly enjoying the spectacle too much to interfere. Kakashi stifled a chuckle, making it evident he had no intention of stopping the two genin who were still hyperventilating with laughter in front of him from teasing Sasuke any more.

Sasuke could only grind his teeth and walk away, seething and defeated, knowing his two idiotic teammates were lost in a fit of hysteria and unlikely to recover anytime soon.

"I really, really hate this team," Sasuke fumed.
