Titanium rolled his eyes as he turned his back at Steel as he gave him the suggestion. He was in deep thought. It was still extremely dangerous to let any humans outside of the castle.
"Are you here my king? I know your meeting with Van Bloot was important and other stuff, but I need to ask it again. Can you give us permission to leave the castle. Peyton and his parents want to explore the city. Keeping them in the castle all the time is surely not good for their health. Peyton has been progressing with his light power and his parents are catching up to him a little," Steel put his hands on his hips. He let out a small grin, "Are you worry about something else? I mean, you surely don't want to face your mother's wrath."
The king shivered a bit. He still didn't forget the punch on his stomach. He stretched his metal a bit, before he turned around, "They are still around. We didn't arrest most of them. Their leader is still around. We just got a few of them and more traitors are around," he crossed his arms, "Unless you have a plan to protect them. They are around the city."
"They know of their existence here and are surely planning something for a while. At the same time, we cannot just let them live in the castle forever."
Titanium sighed, "They need an escort to protect them."
"Can't let them see each of them," he waved his right hand for a few seconds, before he went on, "It will be good to explore our town and satisfy their curiosity."
The tall and buff ruler put his hands over his face and growled in annoyance. He knew they needed to go out and thing like that. He knew it would be a bad idea. He took a deep breath and sighed, "Fine. I will-" Steel was gone. He rushed at the door that led to the throne room and yelled, "And prepare an escort that will watch over you from a safe and non suspicious distance!" he panted for a few seconds when his lungs were empty, "And we already made sure the population wouldn't make a great deal out of it anyway."
Chapter 50: An Outing Part 1
Steel entered in the room and declared, "Good news! We can go outside and explore the city! We just need to wait for some of the guards to take position and watch us around. I am a tough warrior, but dangers are numerous and I cannot be everywhere at the same time," he nervously chuckled as he admitted that.
Peyton showed a large smile on his face, "Finally! We can look around the city and see what it looks like here! We can finally go outside. Thank's dude!"
"No problem, Peyton," the metalist chuckled as he raised his chest. He raised his hand and flexed his left leg. He chuckled as he pointed at the parents, "And you can come with us of course. I'm sure you want to look around."
Lucas laughed, "I have no idea when you managed to convince your king to let us out, but I'm glad we can go outside. I'm not the kind to stay inside all the time," he glanced at his wife, "And I'm sure my wife wants to cook something for us later on."
"I like what you are giving us Steel, but I rather make our own meals. I'm sure there might be many things interesting in the city to get," Judy told him as she already planned dinner in her mind.
Steel let out a small grin, "It will be on Titanium personal wallet. Consider it an apology for scaring you when he took your son. I think your punch wasn't enough."
Titanium frowned as he clenched his hands, "Why do I have a feeling that someone is planning something on my back," he glanced at the door leading to the throne room, "And that someone is already enjoying it before he already put his plan into action."
The metalist chuckled as he already saw how his king will feel when he realised what he did in the personal wallet of his ruler. He looked at the humans, "Prepare yourself and we are going to visit the city!" he raised his arms. He was glad he cheered them up.
The three humans looked at each other's. Judy asked him, "What do we bring?"
The arms dropped, "Oh. Yeah. You don't have anything to take and prepare yourself. I guess we will get things so we can actually apply the prepare yourself thing next time! Because I intend that you have many next times. We just need to have a safe journey in the city with nothing wrong happening!" he let out a large smile.
He turned around and left the room with the humans behind him. He already had a map in his mind and where he would bring them today. He hoped they will appreciate it.
The humans were a bit nervous when they stood in the front gate that would lead them into the city" Peyton remembered how it was divided, but had no idea from which direction the gate would open. He took a deep breath and waited for the gate to open. He glanced at his parents. They were both excited and nervous as they wondered what a town made of creatures that seemed made of armor looked like.
Steel crossed his arms and tapped the ground with his foot as it took a bit of time for the gate to open. He knew their protectors went to take position, but it was a bit too long.
"We will visit the shops first and get what you need. I got everything we need," he showed a bag, which contained everything they needed to get new clothes and ingredients for lunch. He chuckled when they were impressed by the size of the bag. He scratched his chin, "Should we get new clothes first? Maybe you want to explore first. We won't go north or south. Both aren't the best places for you. North is where our military is training and south are where the factories are. Many factories."
"I say we explore around first. I have a feeling you will hold a lot of bags for the entire day if you let my wife get what she wants first," Lucas spoke of personal experience.
Peyton chuckled as he remembered some of the time where his father couldn't see anything in front of him because of all the bags he had. He had to guide his father.
"Let's go!" Judy declared without being upset by that little funny story.
They went to explore the east sector of the town. Steel showed them around with a smile. He showed them how strong they were to overcome so many things when they were exiled and their resilience.
Peyton and his parents ignored the feeling of eyes on them. They didn't see anyone around them just looking at them in any ways. Peyton guessed it was their bodyguards who watched them around discreetly. The few eyes felt like they wanted to get them. More like they were the enemies or kidnappers who waited for the right time to strike. It wasn't the case, but it felt like it.
They were many houses and tall buildings around them. The houses were made of some kind of silver or black metal. They had a few windows. They also got some houses made of rocks or bricks. This was what they could see from the outside. The buildings had a square structure in its form or a rectangle when they were taller in size. Each of the homes had a small garden on the front, protected by a fence.
The humans could see many trees around with a few other plants they never saw before. They stood a bit to the city when they passed near the citizens of the city. The metalists were all on the tall and larger size. They all walked in line. They were many smaller metalists who held the hand of one or both taller metalist. They weren't sure if it was a family or not. They knew little of who the creatures were.
"Those are families if you are wondering," Steel explained with a smile on his face, "This is the residential area. You will find a few parcs and other interesting things like libraries, bookstores," his smile was a bit larger, telling a bit of what he might got in those places, "We will go to the market place later. This is a large place and many of them are going there right now," he pointed at the people who went to their fight.
"This is where we will get dinner," Judy declared.
"I guess you are saving the more complicated explanations," Lucas told him.
"Yup. I don't want to bore you with all the technical stuff. This is how our homes are structures and made. The taller ones are condos or apartments. Maybe who lived in those big places are single or didn't have family yet," he raised his finger and chuckled, "We also have some fast and efficient transportation. It will can take us around the city and a few locations outside of town in a matter of minutes. You will be impressed," he chuckled.
He guided them to their next destination. They reached a long railroad, or something like that. Peyton wondered something, "Dude. Why are the metalists kinda ignoring us?"
"They are mostly busy, but also well aware of your presence here. The king explained a lot and they won't mind you… As long as you don't cause any trouble," he simply replied. He chuckled and glanced at his own kind. He them approached them and whispered, "Most citizens just mind their own business, unless it's against an enemy. If you were an Overworlder, they wouldn't just wander around."
"We are humans," the teenager replied.
"So what? Most of us are over it. Only some of our kind just doesn't move on from what we have done in the pass. We have seen none of them so far. Anyway, this is our best way of transportation," he raised his arms when one of the trains appeared.
It came quickly and stopped. The design of the train looked like those they could find on Earth, but it had one difference. It didn't have wheels and floated in the air.
"We found some materials here that makes them float in the air. It also moves extremely quickly. Do not ask me how this works. I have no idea," Steel told them.
The train left with an extremely impressive acceleration rate and couldn't see it after a few seconds.
The humans watched this with awe in their faces. They never saw something like that in their world, even if they heard of pretty fast train existing already.
Peyton didn't expect something like that, compared to the rest of Perim. Even looking around a bit more, he did see lamps that looks more like something from the city of his words than the torches, crystals and the strange lamps that were made and used in Perim. If they actually came from Earth, it might make sense.
Still, the metalist was also a very different tribe that could focus more on technology than magical gears like the rest of Perim.
Then again, he had no idea if what was the true in what king Titanium said. Maybe everything was true and they came from the Cothica. Maybe not all of it was true and his world was the Earth. Maybe the king was secretly nefarious. He might be like one of the twist villains from the movies. He couldn't be sure if it was a good or bad twist if this was true.
He came out of his thought when the reached the market place. He didn't hear their escort telling them anything about their next destination and how many of them came from outside of the city to sell their goods.
Judy eyes shined as she watched everything they were serving on the street. They were many metalists who stood behind or in front of a stands where they told their homemade product. Some of them offered veggies, others meat and many different types and shades of oil. They could overhear them commented about the different flavors of oil. Some argued which one was the best for their health or other stuff. Many sold clothes or any objects that anyone needed in their home. This place was fill with life.
Her husband and her son knew that she was going to look at everything and they couldn't do anything about it.
One metalist noticed the humans and felt bloodlust at the sight of them. The accursed beings were there, just in front of the market. They were easy target to get, since their body guard was alone and they were three humans. He just needed his chance to get them.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
Next: The Outing Part 2.
Judy went on a shopping spree while an assassin was after the humans.
