This was an idea that recently crept back into my brain. It does look at Jessica and Seth in a way that we DIDN'T see on the series but, they're still human. Also, many of you may remember VCRs. Some VCRs had a setting where tapes would rewind automatically at the end and then replay the video without you having to hit play again. At least one of mine did. It helped me fall asleep sometimes.

Well, she did it again. Jessica found a way to hurt her back. She had a blueberry pie in the oven and she was washing dishes at the same time. She heard the buzzer go off and immediately left the sink and bent down too quickly to retrieve the pie.

"Eeessh." She immediately grabbed her lower back. She put the pie on the stove and couldn't find a way to straighten up.

"Good job, Jessica. Well, best you get into bed and rest. You don't want to be bed ridden like a few months ago," she chided herself. She still couldn't look at canned tuna at the supermarket!

She had already eaten dinner anyway so nothing more needed to be done. She somehow managed to half walk, half crawl, up the stairs to bed. She would see Seth in the morning for sure. It would be a waste to bother him now.

The next day, Jessica asked Eve to drive over to Seth's for a walk in appointment.

When they arrived, Eve opened the car door, "Here Jessica. Now take it easy."

Jessica winced as she got out, "I'm fine Eve. I can make it up the stairs."

"Are you sure? I hate to leave but I've got a hot prospect coming in a few minutes."

"Don't worry Eve, I'm in good hands now."

Eve smiled and Jessica made it, slowly, up Seth's steps.

Beverly wasn't inside…must be at Loretta's. Jessica delicately sat on Seth's couch.

Seth walked out when he heard someone enter.

"Jessica, what did you do?" he looked at her like a father scolding a child. He noticed the discomfort on her face.

"It's my back again. All I did was bend down to get my blueberry pie out of the oven," she said.

Seth's tone changed as he remembered Jessica promised to bake him a blueberry pie. Now he felt guilty. "I'm sorry Jess. I shouldn't have taken such a tone with you. Now stay there, I'll be right with you. Just have to finish up with my patient."

Seth went back to his exam room. The downstairs was part waiting area, part living room. Jessica wasn't sure how long she would be waiting so she thought about turning on Seth's tv. Before she did, she noticed the VCR was running.

"hmmm? How odd for Seth to forget to stop his vcr?" she thought to herself. Seth was always the type to double check lights and locks. Oh well.

She turned on the tv with curiosity. Clearly the tape had been running for a good 20 minutes according to the digital green timer. The video quality didn't look good at all. It sure wasn't a Hollywood movie, that's for sure. It didn't look like film at all. Almost as if it was made with a video camera. The scene was a woman being pulled over by a police officer. What happened next made Jessica's jaw drop. The two actors suddenly began an aggressive series of sexual acts. Jessica was embarrassed but couldn't turn away at first. This was a porno film! The sounds and music were a bit loud so Jessica immediately hit the tv power button. She thought about powering off the vcr but maybe Seth would know what happened.

Not a moment too soon, Seth walked his patient out with a, "see you next year" response.

Jessica's face no longer showed a searing pain but a combination of shock and embarrassment.

Seth hadn't realized Jessica had touched the tv. He just smiled at her and said, "let's see how bad your back is this time."

Jessica was speechless and a little uncomfortable. She slowly stood up and walked to the exam room. It wasn't the pain that made her feel this way, it was the embarrassment of discovering this film…in Seth's VCR.

Seth determined Jessica's back was a muscle strain and not disc related. He gave Jessica a dose of muscle relaxer, which she hated. He then drove her home and helped her upstairs.

The ride to her house was quiet and at the top of the stairs she told Seth she would be fine and didn't need any help heading to her bedroom. "No Seth!" she said almost too nervously. "I'll be just fine; you just go back to your office."

Seth was shocked at her reaction. What was wrong? She barely talked to him much less looked at him between the back exam and ride home. It's as if she was uncomfortable with him.

"Ok…well I'll just check in on you later this afternoon. You just, uh, rest."

He left the house dejectedly and drove home somewhat perturbed. When he walked in, Beverly noticed right away and knew something was wrong…no doubt with Jessica.

"Doctor, your next patient won't be in for another hour. Just sit down and have a cup of coffee. Looks like you could use a cup." Seth gave her the side eye and she went back to organizing the exam room.

Seth realized she was right and decided to make a cup and sit down. He had that thousand-yard stare and couldn't stop thinking about Jessica. He brought the cup to his lips and that's when he noticed it. The vcr power button…the timer…the play button! Seth gulped…the video tape! Could it be Jessica found out? How could she not! She was in the waiting room for about half an hour and there were no new magazines to read. She must have turned the tv on. Oh, how could he be so stupid. Why didn't he stop the tape! Then he remembered why he didn't stop the tape.
