The next day as promised, Melty showed up.

That really surprised me as I thought she'd make some excuse or say that her parents didn't approve or something along those lines.

Her arrival was announced by a call on my phone. I picked it up and she said "I've just arrived. Is it already if we come in?"

"We?" I asked while fumbling to get ready to open the door.

"Yes, we," she said. I opened up the door and saw that she was accompanied by a woman who would have otherwise looked scary except for one thing- she had bright bubblegum pink hair.

Now, lots of girls dyed their hair pink- but she was also dressed up in a business suit and wearing sunglasses even though it was very sunny outside, like she was a bodyguard of some sort. As a matter of fact, given the way she was eyeing me as her gaze scanned me from top to bottom as if assessing how much of a threat I would be- I had an increasing feeling that it was true.

But, the whole bodyguard gimmick was ruined by the fact that she had pink hair. It was impossible to take her seriously with that hair color. I couldn't even believe that someone had hired her with her hair styled like that.

"Uh, are you Melty's mother?" I asked. I was dead sure that I was wrong- mainly because from what Melty had told me her mother sounded like the kind of woman who would be far too busy to actually pickup and drop her daughter personally to places.

She said while adjusting her glasses, "I am Melty-sama's personal assistant and I'm here to watch over her while she is here. My name is Eclair."

Personal assistant? And bodyguard to boot? Maybe Melty really was a princess...

"Okay," I said. Honestly, I should have expected this. Of course, Melty wouldn't be walking into my house alone. "If you don't mind me asking why weren't you there earlier when Melty was at College?" I felt like Melty also should've had someone watching her when she was going to classes. If she was my child I would've arranged for something like that- even though she did look like she could take care of herself. U

"That," Eclair said and adjusted her glasses again (using her middle finger like she was an anime character) "Initially Melty-sama was very reluctant to have me around all the time and since it was a university, I was only going to pick her up and drop her up from there."

Melty pouted. "Mother was fine with that, but then Father caught wind of it and now he's insisting that someone go with me everywhere even when I told him I can handle myself!" She stomped her foot as if she was about to throw a tantrum but then stopped. Honestly- I agreed with whoever her father was.

At least now people wouldn't think that I was a lolicon.

"All right, then, should we get started?" she asked.

"Uh, sure, the two of you can come in. Is there anything I can get you guys to eat or drink?"

"No, thank you," Melty said. Eclair didn't even respond.

"I see- and would Miss Eclair possibly want an Eclari?" I asked. She did not laugh at the joke and neither did Melty. Come on. I thought that joke was really funny. Then again if she said 'yes' I'd be in a pickle because I didn't have any eclairs on hand. Speaking of which, I didn't have any pickles on hand either.

"Alright then," I said. I pulled up a chair for her which was a bit too tall for her but not by that much. I offered Eclair a seat as well but she indicated that she would prefer to remain standing. "Right. So what was the assignment again?"

Melty glared at me. "Do you not even remember that?!"

"Hey, I wasn't really paying attention. I was um... busy with other things," I countered.

"What were you even doing on your phone that whole time?" she asked. "I saw you were on it for like half of the lecture!"

"What are you, my Mom?" I retorted defensively.

"I don't get why you even bother coming if you're not going to pay attention!"

"Because without that I wouldn't get my degree" I say matter of factly. "Plus, I don't see why you would care what I do with my time."

"Alright, I just want to get this over with then," she said exasperatedly. She then started explaining the assignment. "So, what we're supposed to do is put on an act, one of us is supposed to be the prosecutor, and the other one is supposed to be the defense attorney. We're each supposed to pick up a fairy tale and cover it- we got Little Red Riding Hood. See, the Big Bad Wolf has been accused of murdering Little Red Riding Hood. We can make up the details ourselves like whether he's guilty or not however we want- the main thing is how we each argue for and against his case.

I will say that as annoying as it was that I found her, she was quite dedicated to this. Perhaps because it was partially based off of a kid's story? Anyway, her attitude even got me fired up.

I even had some good points that seemed to surprise her more than it really should have. Hey, it's not like I was completely incapable. I was just uninterested in doing this kind of stuff which was why I wasn't putting in more than the bare minimum of effort.

At the end of the day, we had managed to make up a rough draft of what we wanted to do.

"All right, let's work on this next time then," she said. "How about Sunday?"

Raphtalia had texted me earlier saying that she wanted to stream Saturday as she had something the coming Sunday so that worked for me as well.

"You sure you don't want anything to eat or drink?" I asked.

"No thank you" she said. As was before, Eclair did not even bother responding so I didn't even bother asking her separately. Now that I studied her a bit more closely, she did seem to have an athletic physique- so she probably was a bodyguard of some sort. But again, I could not take her seriously with that pink hair.

"Hey! You're thinking something rude right now, aren't you?" Melty protested. Was my face really that easy to read- or did all the woman I met just happen to have mind-reading powers or something?

I didn't answer but waved her and Eclair off. I saw the two of them get into a limousine- so yeah, she really was loaded I guessed.

Maybe my classmates calling her Hime-sama, while extremely chuuni, was not inaccurate.
