Some of these are going to be directly related to specific comics, other ones will be related to my own non-canon timeline (aka what's going on with Damian). This one directly follows Batman #232, AKA the introduction of Ra's al Ghul

### AITA for testing my future son-in-law?

For context, my (652M) daughter (26F) has fallen in love with a man (26M) who I had previously never met before. Of course I ran a thorough background check on him, but while he seemed acceptable on paper, my daughter is the most wonderful woman in the entire world, and I needed to make certain that even if he's not worthy of her (because no one is), then he's at least the best possible option. On top of that, I run an extremely large and complex organization, and it has always been my plan for my daughter's husband to take over for me once I die or retire. I don't want my life's work to fall apart because my daughter accidentally fell in love with an idiot.

On the whole, my plan went very well. I created a scenario similar to a treasure hunt, where my future SIL proved himself brave, intelligent and resourceful. The only problem is he was very unhappy with the situation, even after I explained I was testing him. My daughter later suggested it could be because I kidnapped his son (13M) as bait to make sure he would complete the test, but considering the boy was safe and well-fed the entire time, I don't understand why he was so irritated. Especially considering he met my daughter after they were both kidnapped by my former employee.

My daughter also suggested there may be cultural differences neither of us are aware of (we are from Asia and he is from the United States), and that we ought to give him time to process my approval of the two of them, as the revelation I do not intend to be malicious towards him and his son caught him off guard.

Frankly, I would never have considered I was in the wrong, but my future SIL's reaction has upset my daughter, so I suppose I should see if I have to do something to fix it.

AITA?
