Damon runs, he doesn't know for how long, battling with the beast in his chest. Battling with his very soul to not run back to her. He doesn't know what he would do... well that's a lie. He knows exactly what he would do. Hold her and never let her go again. He doesn't know how this beautiful, determined, sexy woman has managed to walk through his walls as though they weren't even there. She drives him insane. By all rights he should hate her. She's ruined all of his plans, snapped his legs, threatened to burn him alive, trapped him in a tomb for days and worst of all she 's made him feel. He should see her an enemy. But he can't. He should run and not look back before it's too late. Is a few days too little time to develop Stockholm syndrome?

Damon slows down to a walk, finally remembering the blood bag in his hand and acknowledging the thirst prickling his throat. He looks down at the blood bag in his hand with a sigh.

Who's he kidding? She has him wrapped around her finger.

The thought should terrify him. He hasn't felt anything for anybody in a very long time. He's the dick vampire who ruins peoples lives with no remorse. When he starts to care he goes on a killing spree.

Now there's an idea.

Damon smirks before huffing a laugh, discarding the idea. He'd rather not be burned alive despite how attractive she is when threatening him.

Giving into his thirst Damon makes quick work of the blood bag, sinking his fangs into the bag and shoving the empty packet into his pocket before speeding back to the boarding house.

Damon enters the house ready to go to sleep and deal with all this in the morning.

"Damon! where have you been? are you okay?"

"Yes mother i am fine." Damon snarks, detouring to the bar and pouring himself a bourbon. He needs it.

"Damon you just dropped off the map! I haven't been able to get in touch with Angelina and when she finally answered she said she was teaching you a lesson! What did she do?" Stefan rants, trying to stay calm and running a hand through his hair.

"Well, Stefan when a man and a woman-" Damon starts with a smirk, unable to pass up the opportunity, when he's interrupted by a knock.

Damon and Stefan exchange looks both grabbing a stake and racing to the door as the knocking becomes more insistent. Throwing open the door the brothers prepare to strike only to freeze seeing a frazzled Elena at the door.

"What are you?!" Elena blurts out, looking between both brothers frantically.

"Oh I am not dealing with this." Damon groans, retreating into the living room to grab his drink and quickly going to his bedroom.

"How you feeling sleepy head?"

Bonnie groans dragging her feet into the kitchen and collapsing on a bar stool and the kitchen island.

"I thin' Bunny is sweepy" Oscar giggles from his place on the counter helping to flip the pancakes.

"Mrgh"

"Real expressive Bunny." Angelina jokes, helping Oscar down and plating up the pancakes.

"Wbisah"

"It gets easier Bunny." Angelina laughs lightly, sliding a plate of pancakes in front of her, lifting Oscar up onto a bar stool and giving him his plate.

"Wheen?" Bonnie whines, lifting her head off of her arms.

"You're magics like a muscle, the more you exercise it the stronger it gets and the more endurance you have. At the moment you're bodies not used to expending that much energy." Angelina explains, going behind Bonnie and redoing one of her braids that had come loose.

"I'm still sore." Bonnie grumbles through her mouth of pancakes, only to duck her head sheepishly when Angelina whacks her shoulder.

"Don' tawk with your mouth fuw" Oscar scolds her, after swallowing his mouthful.

"Thank you Oscar." Angelina says dryly, watching amused as Oscar nods pleased with himself and goes back to his pancake.

Angelina places some tablets and a coffee in front of Bonnie and slides her phone out of her pocket.

Stefan - Elena knows. She's heading your way.

Angelina - Everything?

Stefan - She knows about me and Damon being vampires. Doesn't know about witches. She only knows that you know.

Angelina - I'll deal with it. I can always wipe her memories if it goes south.

Stefan - What? You're joking right?

Stefan - Angelina?

Angelina laughs slightly, sliding her phone back into her pocket, ignoring the incessant dinging.

"Who was that?" Bonnie asks curiously, a bit more awake after her coffee.

"That was your que to go get ready for school before you're late." Angelina replies, walking around the island with a flannel and wiping Oscars face off as he squirms away with a whine.

"What?" Bonnie gasp, turning around to look at the clock before launching to her feet and bolting up the stairs.

"That includes you little man." Angelina adds, booping Oscars nose and lifting him from his seat, ushering him up the stairs.

"You know what you've got to do?"

"Bwush Teeth, Pack bag and..." Oscar trails off with a frown.

"and get dressed" Angelina prompts with a raised eyebrow.

"oh yeah!" Oscar giggles, climbing up the stairs just in time for a knock to sound on the door.

Angelina makes her way through the hallway, not rushing as the knocking gets more frantic.

Opening the door Angelina catches the fist that nearly hits her in the face.

"Can I help you Elena?" She asks raising an eyebrow at Elena's shocked face.

"Do you know?" Elena whispers, her eyes wide and watering.

"Stefan needs to learn to keep his mouth shut." Angelina sighs, standing aside and gesturing for her to enter.

Elena dosen't move.

"You're not a vampire are you?" Elena whimpers, eyes scanning Angelina's face frantically looking for what she didn't know. Some sign she was a vampire?

"No Lena, I'm not a vampire." Angelina comforts her, her face softening as she uses Elena's old nickname.

Elena let's out a choked sob and slumps in relief.

"Come sit down Elena." Angelina says, leading her into the living room and gesturing to the sofa.

"So you know Damon and Stefan are vampires." Angelina starts, placing a cup of coffee in front of her and taking a seat opposite.

"Yes" Elena nods, taking a sip of her coffee and curling up into the large sofa.

"Okay, do you know anything about them?"

Elena shakes her head.

"Do you want to know more about them?"

"Yes please. I- I need to know." Elena nods, she needs answers, she needs to know if Stefan is the monster she's picturing in her mind.

"First of all holy water, silver, garlic and salt doesn't effect vampires. They can't turn into bats and they can see in mirrors, Luckily for Damon as I think he would cry if he couldn't see himself in the mirror." Angelina starts lightly, drawing a slight chuckle from Elena.

"Vampires are created when people die with vampire blood in their system. Sometimes knowingly, sometimes unknowingly. Vampire blood when consumed can heal people and within 24 hours will be out of their system leaving them human as long as they don't die within that time. Vampires are immortal, fast, strong, their senses are heightened and they are very hard to kill. The older the Vampire, the stronger and faster they are. The only was to kill a vampire is to drive a wooden stake or wooden object into their heart. If a house is owned by a human they have to be invited in else they can't enter." Angelina explains, taking a sip from her coffee to allow Elena some time to process. "Some vampires with training can control animals and minimally the weather. For example Damon has an affinity to fog and ravens. But all vampires can do something called compulsion as long as they have eye contact they can compel someone to do what ever they want."

"Oh my god, have I been compelled?!" Elena gasps frantically, her eyes wide and her heart in her throat at the idea of Stefan having compelled her.

"No Elena, you haven't been compelled. That necklace that Stefan gave you contains a herb called vervain, by either wearing or ingesting it you cannot be compelled. Nothing that you two had was compelled or fake." Angelina tells her firmly.

"What about their diet?" Elena whispers, one hand unconsciously rising to her neck.

"Vampires drink blood. Some can drink animal blood but it leaves them significantly weaker than other vampires. Stefan drinks animal blood, however that is only because in the past he has struggled with controlling his thirst for human blood so he doesn't drink it at all. Which I still think is unhealthy. Vampires don't need to kill a human to drink from them, some drink from them and then heal them and others kill them."

"What about the attacks?"

"Damon was the one who attacked them people but he will not be doing such a thing again. I made sure of that." Angelina is cut off by a shout.

"Mummy?!"

"Yes Oscar?" Angelina calls back, turning slightly so she can see the top of the landing.

"Where my... my pants?" Oscar shouts back, his voice slightly muffled.

"On your bed with your other clothes."

"Okay, Thank you!"

Angelina shakes her head slightly with a small chuckle, turning back to face Elena who's looking at her with a confused look.

"How- How did you do that?" Elena asks, narrowing her eyes slightly in confusion.

"Oh, I'm a witch." Angelina answers lightly, just as Elena takes a sip of her coffee.

Elenas eyes widen as she spews out her coffee, coughing violently.

Angelina's nose crinkles slightly as she waves her hand and the sprayed coffee disappears.

Elena looks at the scene wide eyed, glancing down at her hands to see the coffee mug no longer there.

"Perhaps that's enough coffee for this conversation?" Angelina suggests, despite already taking the coffee from her.

"You're- You're a witch?" Elena splutters, her eyes still wide and her mouth slack.

Angelina hums with a small smile, enjoying this immensely. Nothing will ever beat Jenna's reaction but it's close.

"How? Why? Does Jenna know? Does Bonnie know? Does- " Elena starts to babble.

"How about you let me explain and then ask any questions you have left?" Angelina suggests dryly, raising an eyebrow causing Elena to flush and nod.

"I was born a witch. No it is not something you can learn. No Oscar is not magic. There are different levels and types of magic, I myself don't do the whole human sacrifice thing that's considered black magic and it corrupts the soul, however I do have a cauldron. No I don't turn into an animal. No my skin does not turn green and I do not have warts or a witches hat. Yes Jenna knows, the bitch is always using me to fix her kitchen after she blows it up. I try not to involve Jenna in all of it I just keep her up to date on everything. No Jeremy does not know and Yes Bonnie knows." Angelina leans back nonchalantly drinking more coffee after dumping all of that information on an overwhelmed Elena.

"I know what?" Bonnie asks, carrying a dressed Oscar down the stairs.

"That I'm a witch."

"Why does Elena know?" Bonnie asks, dumping Oscar onto Angelinas knee.

"She found out about the Salvatore's." Angelina says, turning her attention to Oscar who was tugging on her sleeve.

"Does that mean I can tew her mummy?" Oscar whispers quietly, looking up at his mummy wide eyed.

"Yes Oscar you can tell Elena." Angelina confirms, pulling up his elasticated jeans.

"My mummy can do magic!" Oscar announces loudly, turning to Elena excitedly who gives him a strained smile.

"Oscar stand up your shirts inside out." Angelina sighs, placing him on the floor in front of her and sorting out his top.

"Why do you know?" Elena asks turning to Bonnie who's perched next to her on the sofa.

"I didn't know until after the whole Tanner was attacked thing. Turns out Grams wasn't going insane." Bonnie says sheepishly, holding onto Elenas hand lightly.

"You're a witch?" Elena exclaims in disbelief.

"Shocked me too." Bonnie says dryly, giving a shrug.

"Look, if you have any more questions I recommend asking Stefan. He'll tell you anything if you just ask. Of course I'm always here if you need me." Angelina says, straightening Oscar's shirt who gives her a pout. "If you decide you don't want to be apart of this I can remove your memories of this, but if you decide you do I can give you self defence lessons like I am with Jeremy."

"I want to join!" Bonnie chirps, looking at Angelina excitedly.

"Of course you can. Now as lovely as this chat has been I need to get Oscar to nursery and you two are late for school so get your asses moving. Bonnie you can close up behind you two." Angelina commands, ushering Oscar into the hallway to get his bag and jumper.

"Oh and Elena." Angelina adds, coming back out of the hallway, "I don't need to tell you to keep this to yourself do I?"

"The words memory wipe and kicking my ass come to mind." Elena state dryly.

"Good girl." Angelina smirks, sending her a wink before heading back out.

Wednesday 30th September

Damon prowls quietly though the forest, he knows the campsite is further ahead and unluckily for them he's starving. He'll play by Angel's rules, but who said he can't have fun before he compels them.

His Angel.

Damon scowls, she's the reason he's out trying to grab a camper for a snack instead of seducing his usual snack from the bar. He tried seducing the females but he finds himself sending them away when he see's their lack of vibrant red hair and jade green eyes. Then that sours his mood because somebody hasn't been in contact at all in the three days he's been out of the tomb.

Honestly, the least she could do after trapping him in a tomb for six days is get in contact with him.

Too lost in his thoughts Damon doesn't hear the footsteps approaching until there's a bang and a pain in his shoulder.

Damon turns around with a snarl his vampire face on display and lunges, pinning the person to a tree and knocking the gun out of their hand.

Finally getting a look at the his attacker, Damon's face returns to normal as he looks at the struggling person unimpressed.

"Really? Logan 'Scum' Fell?" Damon raises an eyebrow, lightening his grip on the mans throat as he begins to turn blue.

"You?" Logan gasps, his hand pulling and scratching at Damon's, fruitlessly trying to pull it off his throat.

"Me." Damon smirks, mentally shrugging before blurring forwards and sinking his fangs into his throat. Best not to waste it, he'll have to kill him anyway.

"So what would you're reaction be if I told you I was standing over a dead Logan 'Scum' Fell?" Damon asks down the phone, finally pressing call after debating for the last half an hour.

"Nobody would miss him." Angelina answers immediately, glad that there's nobody in the car with her having just dropped off Oscar at Nursery.

"Wow you didn't miss a beat." Damon says impressed, relaxing slightly now he knows she's not going to kill him.

"Why's he dead Damon?" Angelina asks, rolling her eyes unseen.

"I know you're rolling you're eyes at me." Damon accuses with a smirk.

"And I know you're smirking so get on with it." Angelina smiles slightly despite herself, she loves bantering with Damon.

"Okay, so I was walking through the woods all innocent planning to go to the campsite for my next meal when suddenly I was shot in the shoulder and I may have lost my temper and killed him." Damon explains pacing, wincing as he waves his other arm.

"After you drank from him of course." Angelina adds dryly.

"I figured it would be a waste otherwise." Damon defends himself, glaring at his shoulder as it gives another painful throb. "And I can't get the bullet out because it's in the back of my shoulder and I can't reach."

"I'll be there in fifth-teen minutes." Angelina answers, driving towards the campsite.

"How will you-" Damon starts only to look at his phone in disbelief.

"She hung up on me. Can you believe that?" Damon asks, turning to the dead body of Logan Fell.

Damon perks up from where he's sat on a fallen log when he hears the sounds of dogs getting closer and smells the unique smell of Angelina. A mixture of metal, electricity and mochas.

The dogs come bursting through the bush first bounding towards Damon and pouncing on him for cuddles.

"Hi Molly. Hi Puppy." Damon smirks, ruffling Molly's fur playfully and picking up Puppy with his good arm when he tries to chew his shoe, only to be licked in the face instead.

Angelina comes through the trees not far behind and rolls her eyes when she see's the state of him.

"Honestly, Oscar is a less messy eater than you." She scoffs, making her way towards him.

"I can be clean if I want to be but he pissed me off." Damon shrugs, yelping as pain shoots through his shoulder.

"Take off you're jacket." Angelina says walking around him and taking puppy out of his arms who starts climbing on Molly who's laid down chewing a stick.

"If you wanted me to strip you should have said sooner." Damon smirks, wriggling his eyebrows at her as he tries to take off his jacket one handed.

Angelina rolls her eyes and gently pushes his hand away, taking one arm out of the jacket and then another being careful not to jostle his shoulder.

"I can't believe he ruined my jacket." Damon groans, frowning slightly at the hole and the blood stain in the shoulder.

"I can't believe you got snuck up on by a human." Angelina teases, causing Damon to gasp in offence as she uses her magic to slowly work the bullet out.

"I was lost in thought!" Damon protests, gasping in pain as the bullet pops out of his shoulder and into Angels hand.

"You can think?" Angelina quips with a smirk, leaning over his shoulder and placing the bullet into his hand.

Damon's breath catches at her closeness, before paying attention to the bloody bullet in his hand.

"That's a wooden bullet." Damon states in shock, the implications of it hitting him in the gut.

Angelina hums, muttering a spell to mend the hole in his shirt and clean him of any blood.

"That means they know. But how the hell did Scum Fell over there manage to track me down? In fact he seemed surprised to see me." Damon questions, his thoughts racing.

"He's part of the council." Angelina states, coming around from behind him and walking towards Logan's dead body.

"The council?" Damon repeats watching confused as Angel crouches by the body, rummaging around it for a moment before standing back up and chanting a spell causing a small object to come flying out of the bushes and into her hand.

"Yes, it's made up of me, The Sherriff, The Mayor, his Wife and Fell was apart of it. Their sole purpose is to hunt and kill any vampires that enter Mystic Falls." Angelina explains, dusting off the object in her hand. "And this is how Scum found you, it's the Gilbert watch, it was enchanted by Emily Bennet to point towards vampires. Of course the council doesn't know its enchanted they just think John Gilberts a genius."

"Wait wait wait. You're apart of a council that kills vampires? How do they even know about vampires? Do they have any idea what you are? How come they don't know about me and Stefan if you're on it?" Damon asks, his mind spinning.

"They don't know what I am only that I'm extremely good at my job. As far as their concerned the only supernatural creatures that exist are vampires and that's only because that's what their ancestors journals tell them. No I didn't tell them about you and Stefan, it depends on the vampire as to what I do." Angelina explains turning to face him, she seems to be doing a lot of explaining lately.

Damon just watches her for a moment as she tucks the watch out of sight in her pocket and pulls out her phone.

"What are you doing?" Damon asks, getting up from the log and making his way to her.

"I figured I should call the council and you'd be interested in hearing." Angel raises an eyebrow at him questioningly as her phone starts to ring, Damon standing next to her curiously.

"Angelina, I thought you weren't able to take part in todays meeting." Elizabeths voice comes through the phone.

"I wasn't but an emergency came up." Angelina states, absently waving a hand over the leather jacket in Damon's arms and fixing it. Much to his delight as he shrugs it back on.

"We have one too, Logan's missing. He never misses a meeting." Elizabeth tells her, her voice grimm.

"Well I might have already solved that." Angelina states, looking down at the body by her feet.

"What?" Several voices ask through the phone.

"I was walking the dogs with Damon and we came across his dead body. From the looks of it he must have been vampire hunting." Angelina explains, Damon watching her in awe.

"Can Damon hear this conversation?" Carol asks, her voice disapproving.

"He can hear me talking, yes." Angelina smirks amused, looking at a smirking Damin.

"Are you crazy?" Carol near hisses, being mindful of who she's talking to.

"Please the mans a Salvatore, of course he knows about what goes bump in the night. It wasn't hard for him to put the pieces together considering the state of Logan." Angelina drawls, rolling her eyes.

"Fuck!" Richard curses

"What?" Carol asks, Damon and Angel exchanging looks over the phone.

"We can't find the watch either, is it with him?" Richard asks.

"He doesn't have it" Angelina says as Damon smirks at her knowing she technically didn't lie.

"He must have."

"Well she says it's obvious a vampire killed him."

"He must have had the watch and the vampire took it or he lost it in the attack"

"That fool he never was good at listening to instructions!"

"What are we going to do with the body? I do not have digging tools and the last thing we need is someone finding it and causing panic" Angelina interjects, already tired of the call.

There's a pause for a moment as everybody looks at each other.

"If you share the location Angelina, I'll come with some supplies." Elizabeth finally says, knowing Richard and Carol wouldn't be caught dead burying a body.

"We'll wait here for you Lizz, I'm not letting you be alone in the woods whilst there's a vampire around." Angelina says, kicking Damon's leg lightly as he walks away with a stifled laugh.

"Okay, I'm on my way." Lizz states, ready to hang up.

"Wait we need to discuss Damon." Carol interuppts.

"What's there to discuss, we could use another council member, we're already one down and the vampires have only been in Mystic Falls for less than a month." Angelina says as Damon looks at her wide eyed. She just got him a way onto the council.

"I suppose you're right. Tell him he's on a trail run." Richard says grudgingly, exchanging looks with his wife.

"Alright- No Molly get off the body" Angelina commands raising an eyebrow at Damon who's poking the body with his foot causing Molly to look up confused from where she's peeing up a tree.

"Alright, I'm on my way. I'll be there in 15 minutes" Liz states again, nodding goodbye to Richard and Carol.

"Thanks Liz." Angelina thanks, hanging up the phone.

"Well that was... insightful." Damon smirks, leaning against a tree and watching his Angel appraisingly.

"Really?" Angelina asks dryly, raising an eyebrow at him.

"You just manipulated a council that kills vampires to let a Vampire become a member after he killed one of the members." Damon states incredulous, it should not be such a big turn on.

"I'm being spread thin. I've got Oscar to look after, my job, the kids to train, Bonnie to train in Magic and looking after Mystic Falls. I figured you would get a kick out of the irony and being able to steer them away from you and Stefan." Angelina explains, leaning against a tree, watching Puppy and Molly tumble in and out of the bushes.

"I might take slight enjoyment in it." Damon admits with a smirk.

"Are they how you found out about vampires?" Damon asks, knowing that most witches don't know what they until later on in life.

"No I was mentored by my dead grandmothers ghost from the age of four in all things supernatural and magic." Angelina states nonchalantly, watching Damon's eyes widen.

"Dead grandmothers ghost?" Damon repeats in disbelief, will this woman ever stop surprising him. "Oh you've got to explain that. What could cause someone to come back from the dead just to teach?"

"I didn't have a good childhood, my grandmother saw that from the other side and knew I needed help to become stronger. Obviously she used the excuse that she needed to pass on the knowledge considering my mother wasn't going to do it."

"Obviously." Damon deadpans, "Are you going to expand on the childhood thing?" he asks with a raised eyebrow.

"Not today" Angel smirks at him slightly, before closing her eyes and tilting her head back to face the sun.

Damon watches her in silence for who knows how long, taking the opportunity to drink in every detail of her. Her vibrant red hair that dances like a flame when the sunlight hits it. That makes his fingers itch to push away the stray strands. Her pale skin that makes him want to touch it and see how soft it is. Her exposed neck that he wants to bury his head in just to breath in her scent where it's strongest. Wanting to kiss along the scar on her face. The scars that whilst invisible to most, he's able to spot with ease, each one making him clench his fists in anger at the though of anybody inflicting them upon her.

Damon takes a deep breath closing his eyes to savour her scent.

"You drive me insane" Damon starts suddenly, opening his eyes to glare at Angelina. "I haven't seen or spoke to you in 3 days since that night you let me out of the tomb and do you know how many times I picked up the damn phone to ring you before I realised what I was doing? Do you know how many times I would find myself on the way to the park in the mornings?"

Angelina slowly opens hers eyes and looks at him calmly, despite the fact a raging pacing vampire would have sent anybody else running.

"Do you know how insane, you make me." Damon demands, walking towards her. "I came here wanting to get Katherine the love of my life out of that damn tomb. And you, after only what two weeks of knowing you, made me change my mind. Over a hundred years I have spent not caring about anyone or anything other than opening that tomb. And then you come along and make me care. You came along and flipped my entire world upside down."

"What is it that draws me to you?" Damon asks near desperately, crowding Angelina close to the tree she's leaning against, unable to help himself from brushing some stray hairs out of her face.

"Angelina?" Damon and Angelina turn there heads to where Elizabeth voice came from through the trees.

Damon sighs and closes his eyes for a moment.

Damon turns back to Angelina and slowly steps away keeping eye contact the entire time.

Soooo... That happened. Please don't kill me for leaving you at that! What do you think? Personally I love this chapter! I'm sorry it's been a while since I uploaded a chapter, now that college is over i'll have more time to focus on my books. I've spent the last few days organising and compacting all of my notes on this story, creating character profiles and planning out the next 14 or so chapters. So I'm hoping you'll find it worth the wait!

Also I've created a timeline for Damon's Angel so if anybody's interested I can post it and update it as I go, however I will be adding dates to the story regardless to help me plan my future chapters better!

I have edited the previous chapters with some small changes, so it's up to you whether you re read!

Enjoy!

Thank you to everybody who reviewed, followed and favourited!

vampireshadowhunter - Thank you! I hope you this chapter doesn't disappoint!

keikei313 - Thank you! :)

Guest - I'm glad you're loving the story!

NonBinaryAceKitten - I'm glad you think Angelina is amazing, it was hard to nail her personality just because she's so complex but I think I've got the hang of it. Yes I agree Oscar is adorable, although writing his lips is a bit of a pain. Thanks, I think I've finally got into the swing of writing Damon thankfully! I wanted to stick to their canon characters whilst changing them in accordance to the new plot!

Forgetnotme14 - Ah I'm glad the books intriguing you! That was the goal! Hopefully you love this chapter too!
