Chuck vs. The Courtyard Bench

Well, in the previous chapter: Chuck start off Friday's Bash At The Bench with a song and dance number via Aladdin's Friend Like Me. He goes all and gives a show stopping number that causes everybody to become unglued. Mostly the kids. Afterwards, Chuck introduces the this week's Rockstar Rebel Cherice Baxter who is suffering from Stage IV Thyroid cancer. The nerdy host would interview her and learn that she likes to read and not to mention used to be a ballet dancer. Unfortunately, the tables would be turned on Chuck when he's put on the spot by Cherice who informs that he and Sarah like each other. Fortunately, a slight distraction involving a kid and cowbell help him get out of the situation channeling his inner Will Ferrell via a popular 2000's SNL skit. This is pure coincidence on Chuck's part as he chose the song I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack but his version is sung by Ronan Keating who he takes his cue by. There's not a dry eye in the courtyard as Chuck and Cherice dance together then the nerd steps back letting father and daughter dance together. It's a heartfelt and incredibly emotional moment. However, it's not over as Hartley surprises everybody including Chuck by putting out a challenge that he'll match the ending donation to help pay for expenses and bills for the Baxter Family. So what's in store for this chapter? Who is freaking out between Jeff and Lester before the performance even happens? What happens to both men that cause Lester to fall back on the ground experiencing significant pain? "How does everybody react when they suddenly hear the song that Jeffster is performing? Where is Vivian going for 5 days that allows Sarah to spend more time with Chuck? Also, why does Sarah agree to meet with Vivian? Read and find out! Anyways, hope you enjoy the read and leave a comment to share your own thoughts on this particular chapters. As always, reviews are awesome.

Again, if you enjoyed reading my stories and left a comment I truly appreciate it. Please continue to do so as it gives me the incentive to write more chapters.

I don't own Chuck.

Jeffster

XXX

The momentary break before Jeff and Lester's performance gave Molly the opportunity to initiate step 2 of Operation V Block. Sneak and snoop. In her mind, she would nonchalantly stand close to Vivian in order to either eaves drop on conversations or sneak a peek at anything that could help in favor of her big sister Sarah. It's considerably easy being that there's a large crowd and the fact that everybody's attention is on Chuck. Also, not to mention that adrenaline is still pretty much on a high after Vivian's father offered to match the donations that the YouTube audience hopefully gives from the goodness of their own hearts.

While standing there, she sees that Chuck and Vivian are having a conversation when her potential brother-in-law's attention is directed to the right leading to focus elsewhere. In doing so, she keenly notices that Vivian suddenly gets a phone call when she sneaks a look at the screen with the following name is on it: Glenn. It's at that point, her sister's rival reaches over to tap Chuck on his left shoulder and when he turns to her, she non-verbally informs him that she has a call then points to her phone. He nods and off she goes to take it heading towards the entrance of the 1st floor hospital for a quieter place to talk presumably.

A look of disdain is expressed on the 13 year old's face as she furrow's her eyebrows. Her immediate thought is that Vivian is cheating on this Glenn guy while she's hanging out with Chuck and he's doesn't even know it. The anger is building up within her so much so that she wants to blow the lid off what she discovered to Chuck in order to expose her for being a two-faced liar. Although, she hasn't said anything to lie about, to her knowledge. Granted, Vivian did call her "cute as a bug's ear" and it could be considered an insult from where she comes from, she thinks to herself.

She's about to tap Chuck's shoulder when she suddenly notices her big sister looking at her. It's a look that she's seen many times before in which Sarah somehow knows she's up to something. Of course, the young teenager is right as she then witnesses her older sibling motion for her to come towards with her left finger. In that moment, Molly kicks herself for getting caught, knowing she should have done a better job of sneaking and snooping. When Molly finally reaches her, only 5 words are said telling she's been found out as Sarah leans down to whisper in her ear.

"What are you up to?"

Molly knows that she can pull something over her mom, but when it comes to her big sister, she can somehow see right through her. So, instead of outright denying or lying to her, she shares what she knows by whispering in her ear. After hearing what her little sister shares with her, Sarah's eyes widen a bit then instantly furrow leading her to lean back and lock eyes with her shorter sibling. She exchanges a look with her and in response Molly non-verbally raises both eyebrows not breaking eye contact with her. It's at that point, a smirk is expressed on Sarah face as she motions for her partner in crime to come closer with a quick tilt side motion of her heard.

The 2nd born to Emma Walker intently listens as Sarah speaks to her in her right ear and as she does a growing and devious smirk appears on her face. It's a smirk that says watch out because the Walker sisters are now teaming together to pull off Operation V Block. As the siblings are hatching a plan together, Jeff and Lester are in their "private green room" within the hospital that was part of the deal in their rider. A rider that was unknowingly approved by Chuck and Sarah.

Speaking of Jeff and Lester, the shorter of the not so dynamic duo is frantically pacing back and forth in front of his much older performing partner. Both wearing custom black and white Jeffster semi long sleeve shirts.

"Calm down Lester."

"I can't calm down." he stammered out. "Our only trump card is out the window. Out The Window! We have to now fall back on our singing talent!" he frantically babbled out. A mixture of fear and doubt within the tone of his voice.

"We've practiced and prepared for this. To be on that stage out there." Jeff confidently stated, pointed out to the courtyard. "Now, that it's happening, you're having second thoughts about it?"

"It's over, man." he said shaking his head.

"Before it's even begun?" Jeff takes a deep breath and continues on. "Where was the overly confident guy I know. The one who laughed at the man's face?"

It's at the point, Lester stops and looks at Jeff. The aloof seemingly drunk and high individual that usually stands before him is somehow replaced with a guy who has all his faculties going for him. "The man..." he responded shaking his head. "...or should I say the wo-man basically laughed at my face. She fired us and then rehired us. Then threatened to fire us if we don't give it our all today!" he stammered out once again. "That's too much pressure for one guy to handle." Lester reiterated highly emotional.

In that moment, Jeff steps forward and stands in front of his best friend. He reaches up placing both hands on Lester's shoulders. He then looks him square in the eyes. "It's not just one guy..." he faintly grinned. "...there's two of us remember. The pressure is on both of us." added Jeff as a reminder.

"What if we do succeed?" A slight smile is expressed as he continues on. "Yeah, sure it's going to blow their minds, but uh, where does all this lead? Stadiums, groupies, creative differences? And then what? Hmmm. Jeffster breaks up!? That's you and me, Jeff! And then what's my fate? Some chambermaid finds me in some hotel room having accidentally asphyxiated while making love to myself! Then my story turns into an eventual VH1 Behind The Music retrospective." he added shaking his head. "It's not worth it!" Lester waves both hands in front of him.

Jeff's response is to briefly shake Lester then grab the side of his arms in order for him to wake up. "I'm willing to go out there with you. Whether we fail or succeed we'll do it..." he leans forward raising both eyebrows. "...together." Lester is momentarily silent but a few seconds later he shakes his head. He breaks away from Jeff's grip and disappears into a nearby bathroom closing the door behind with Jeff following suit. Unfortunately, when he tries to open the bathroom door it's locked. Afterwards, he faintly breathes out the following 5 words: "He's such a tortured artist."

In doing so, Jeff knocks on the door and tries to get him to unlock. "Lester come on. Open up. You'll regret this is you don't go out there."

"Save yourself Jeffrey. Jeffster's done."

For Jeff, he shakes his head and then reaches up placing his right hand against the bathroom door. "I know you're scared. I'm scared, too. But..." He leans forward closer to the door the continues on. "...partnership is trust. I know you can do it, even if you think you can't." He pauses once again but then keeps going. "Ask yourself this question. Ever had a dream that's never come true? I'm asking you to sing. Not for you. Do it for me." In that moment, there is a seemingly long silence on the other side of the bathroom door. However, that would end when the door opens leading Jeff to say one more thing. "If you had one shot. One opportunity. To seize everything you ever wanted. One moment. Would...you...capture it? Or, just let it slip?" he calmly asked.

Lester stands there, taking in all that Jeff said to him. His face is at first expressionless, but then a sign of emotion is seen all over his eyes. "Jeffster lives!" he passionately bellowed all fired up. Both exchange high fives.

It's not long before the door to their private "green room" opens with Casey stepping inside. Harry Tang and Greta following right behind him then standing on either side of the hulking head of security. "Patel and Barnes. You ready?" he intensely barked out.

Jeff and Lester look at each other giving nods to one another. "We were born ready." Lester announced with utmost confidence.

Greta immediately chimes in. "The wig is not riding with me."

"This is not a wig!" responded Lester pointing to his hair.

Instantly, Casey intercedes. "Enough! Patel ride with Tang. Barnes with Greta." growled the Colonel. His attention is then briefly averted to his subordinate standing on his right. "Fine with you?"

A noteworthy grunt is that is expressed by Greta. She along with Tang and their boss John Casey escort Jeffster outside to their awaiting golf carts then to the perform on stage in the courtyard. It's a complete unknown what they'll be singing, but one thing is for sure and that is it's going to be absolutely memorable, one way or another.

XXX

Casey returns taking his place behind his boss, partner, and non-blood related sister Sarah Walker. She stands there next to Chuck with Molly strategically placed in between him and Vivian. Her farther Hartley, by her, while Devon and Ellie, who is now holding Clara, are next to them. After Casey nods to Chuck and Sarah, the host of the Live YouTube show Nerdy Nerfherder and Fuzzball signals Morgan to start Jeffster's intro, which is Europe's song Final Countdown. Speaking of Morgan, the platform he's presently standing on with the camera has now shifted as it's rolled over to the right from the blue bench to the music stage beforehand. In any case, the youngest Bartowski sibling shakes his head then makes his way towards the stage in order to introduce the final performance.

(Horns/Trumpets sounding off)

We're leaving together,
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground (leaving ground)
Will things ever be the same again?

It's the final countdown
The final countdown

As the song continues on, all eyes are directed towards the right of the open pathway that was courted off by yellow caution tape, as well as orange traffic cones. The pathway that leads to the street of the outer façade of Westside Medical Center. It's not long before the 1st golf cart turns in then heads slowly down the pathway. The 2nd golf cart appears mere moments after following right behind the 1st and at the same pace as well. Judging by the slow pace, it's as if Jeff and Lester are dragging this intro out as long as they want. Of course, these aren't the golf carts that are used in golf courses. No. These are the relatively new 2010 Club Car Precedent Electric Golf Carts with open rear seating. It's the open seating in the back that Jeff and Lester take full advantage of as they each stand in the back happily waving with their left hands to the crowd, while holding on to their respective carts with their right hands. In a way, they're making a Pope like entrance but they're not surrounded by bulletproof glass.

It's a scene that Chuck can't help but shake his head at the sheer absurdity of it all. Thankfully, they didn't get the spotlight shining on them as they entered in because for one thing it's broad daylight, he thinks to himself. Plus, it would be considered absolute overkill. He isn't the only one who thinks how absurd this whole thing is as Sarah, Casey, Ellie, Devon, Alex, Kathleen and now Big Mike, who has now joined in to watch what is about to happen as well. Since he's in charge of the two rabble rousers, he wants to know whether they'll rise up to the occasion or crash and burn horribly. As for Molly, Emma, Vivian, Hartley, they are wondering what is going to happen as well as they too are about to watch the sheer spectacle that'll be unfolding right before their very eyes

Oh

We're heading for Venus (Venus)
And still we stand tall
'Cause maybe they've seen us (seen us)
And welcome us all, yeah
With so many light years to go
And things to be found (to be found)
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so

It's the final countdown

At this point in the song during the guitar solo, Chuck is on stage checking his watch and covering his mouth and then rubs his face at the same time. In his mind, they are either intentionally doing this to get back at him and Sarah, or just at The Chief Operating Officer of Westside Medical Center. Either way, they'll, or in this particular case Lester, has to explain why he's now unemployed after primarily using his parents as diplomatic immunity of sorts to avoid any kind of work whatsoever. Essentially, he and Jeff will most definitely have to prove themselves they are deserving of the shot by putting their all into the performance. A once in a lifetime performance they are now taking very seriously after being given an ultimatum by Sarah Walker.

The golf carts would finally make it to the stage to where Tang and Greta intentionally, in a seemingly unintentional way, make a sudden stop. This causes Jeff and Lester's momentum to be pulled forward to where they each hit the back part of the roof of the golf cart. However, this doesn't affect Jeff much, but it did however cause Lester to make a significant impact to where he bounces off and lands on his back in considerable pain. The sight of what just went down leads Chuck, Sarah, and Casey to express a faint smirk on their faces as they watch Jeff quickly head over then help up the lead singer of Jeffster.

The final countdown, oh
It's the final count down
The final countdown

The final countdown
Oh
It's the final count down
We're leaving together
The final count down
We'll all miss her so

It's the final countdown, yeah

Afterwards, the two men make their way behind the stage and up the stairs to join Chuck, who is waiting for them with utmost patience on his part. As soon as the last word of the song is sung, Chuck signals Morgan to fade out immediately so he can get on with the final performance. Once his bearded sidekick does, Chuck speaks up with an irritated and not to mention forced smile on his face.

"Well Bartowski Brigade…" he announced into the mic. "...that was quite an entrance, wouldn't you say?" he added raising both eyebrows. His line of sight is directed towards Sarah who is expressing the same facial expressions as her nerd. "I would like to introduce to you all to Jeff Barnes and Lester Patel or as they're known by..." he said stepping back to look at their shirts. "...Jeffster" he added with fake enthusiastic surprise. "They work here at the hospital and after circumstance that got my, along with Chief Walker's attention, they've been given an opportunity to share with us, and the YouTube viewing audience, their talent. How about that. Let's give these two a hand." he added initiating a clap. A clap that causes the crowd to clap as well with the exception of Sarah and Casey, who just stand there crossing their arms just staring at the two men standing on stage.

For Chuck, he knows full well he acted his way through introducing those two numbnuts. A word that he's very familiar with since Casey has referred to Morgan and himself that on more than one occasion, he thinks to himself. He continues on. "Now, if they do well, they'll be given a chance to perform in upcoming Bash At The Bench shows. Would you like to see that?" he asked pointing the mic out to the crowd. The crowd is up for it, while those employed at Westside Medical Center either shake their heads, roll their eyes, or fake enthusiasm knowing and are fully aware of Jeff and Lester's antics. "So, Jeff and Lester, do you have anything to say before you have the stage?" he asked facing away from the audience. "Look over my shoulder and what do you see?" he whispered glaring at the two men. The mic lowered so that the crowd doesn't hear the exchange between the 3 men.

Both men do just that and direct their attention to Chief Walker glaring at them with Casey behind her doing the same thing but scarier. "Death." Lester faintly breathes out.

"Screw this up for me or Chief Walker. You'll both be dead." warned Chuck in a threatening manner. He then turns around flashing a smile out towards the crowd inevitably handing the mic to Lester.

Lester has no idea what to say as he turns to face Jeff. He takes the mic and simply yells out two words. "JEFFSTER RUULLLLLEEESSSSS!" The older member of the 2 man band then returns his attention to his partner in crime as the crowd reacts with cheers and applause. Afterwards, Chuck gives the stage to the 2 men and makes his way back to behind the camera area where everybody else is located at. Meanwhile Jeffster gets set with Jeff kneeling down and opening up a case. Once he retrieves the instrument in question and turns, Molly, Sarah, Chuck, Casey and Big Mike give their initial response to what Jeff has strapped around him.

"What is that?" wondered Molly quirking her right brow.

"Oh..." began Sarah.

"My..." Chuck said in disbelief.

"Chuck me." breathes out Casey.

"A keytar." stated Big Mike shaking his head.

In that instance, Lester screams into the mic. "Let's do this Westside Medical Cennnnttteeerrrrr! He turns to Jeff and nods. "1...and a 2...and 1...2...3..."

XXX

The moment the first few notes were played on Jeff's keytar all the adults knew what Lester was about to sing. Paul Simon's Call Me Al and they all knew with the exception of Molly that Lester is doing Chevy Chase's part while Jeff is basically Paul Simon only much taller. There is a myriad of reactions that Chuck and the rest of the group express that range from cringe to hanging their heads buried in one's hand and just plain horrified as Lester begins singing while Jeff plays away on his keytar. Before they do, Jeff and Lester exchange fist taps.

A man walks down the street
He says, "Why am I soft in the middle, now?
Why am I soft in the middle?
The rest of my life is so hard
I need a photo-opportunity
I want a shot at redemption
Don't want to end up a cartoon
In a cartoon graveyard"
Bonedigger, Bonedigger
Dogs in the moonlight
Far away in my well-lit door
Mr. Beerbelly, Beerbelly
Get these mutts away from me
You know, I don't find this stuff amusing anymore

At first, Lester is visibly nervous as he stumbles over a few words in the beginning. Afterwards, he turns back to Jeff who simply gives him a confident nod signifying that he's there for him no matter what. It gives the man, who refers to himself as a Canadian Hinjew, the fortitude to keep going and after a while he begins to get a bit more comfortable. So comfortable in fact that a slow but gradual smile begins to form on his face to the point where he starts having fun and just lets loose.

If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty, when you call me, you can call me Al

Once the second verse is done, the crowd starts getting into it as Jeff and Lester are having fun just performing on stage. For Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Molly, Emma, Ellie, Devon, Big Mike, Vivian, Hartley, Alex, Kathleen along with the hospital/nursing staff, the performance so far is not that bad. It's a performance that's actually pretty good, so much so that a few of the nursing staff of the children's medical wing are dancing with the kids. Yet, when it comes to Chuck and Sarah, they stand their ground fighting the urge to dance to one of the most popular songs of the 80's.

A man walks down the street
He says, "Why am I short of attention?
Got a short little span of attention
And, whoa, my nights are so long
Where's my wife and family?
What if I die here?
Who'll be my role model
Now that my role model is gone, gone?"
He ducked back down the alley
With some roly-poly little bat-faced girl
All along, along
There were incidents and accidents
There were hints and allegations

If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty, when you call me, you can call me Al
Call me Al

In that moment, during the song break, they watch Jeff suddenly switch instruments placing the keytar behind him and then retrieves a medium sized flute. He then plays like his life depended on it, which it is. Yet, he's seemingly having fun doing it. He's so into, that he begins to do some Elvis like leg moments to the point where Lester joins in and starts gyrating in a fun away. It's then that Jeff tosses the medium sized flute over to Lester who know has a trumpet is in hands. After tossing said flute over his shoulder, he along with Jeff begins to play another instrument while doing a line dance. The instrument Jeff is playing is a saxophone. At this point, Molly screams, causing everybody else to scream, leading Emma to laugh as she is watching her youngest daughter enjoying a performance that she's properly never seen or heard of ever in her life.

Chuck, on the other hands suddenly starts moving his shoulders because he's feeling the music. He leans over to Sarah who is trying to ignore him, but she can't help but laugh because he's doing the Bartowski eyebrow dance towards her. It's contagious as Ellie and Devon start dancing with their daughter, while Vivian and Hartley are boogying down along as well. As for Alex and Kathleen, they're dancing but are laughing at the same time because Morgan is suddenly dancing behind the camera. Meanwhile Big Mike is grooving to the music whereas Casey is completely stone faced along with Greta and Tang, who are still standing by the golf carts. Once the line dance and instrument playing is over, Lester continues to sing as Jeff puts down the saxophone to where he twist his body inevitably swinging around from behind him his keytar to play once again.

A man walks down the street
It's a street in a strange world
Maybe it's the third world
Maybe it's his first time around
Doesn't speak the language
He holds no currency
He is a foreign man
He is surrounded by the sound, the sound
Cattle in the marketplace
Scatterings and orphanages
He looks around, around
He sees angels in the architecture
Spinning in infinity
He says, "Amen and Hallelujah!"

If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty, when you call me, you can call me Al
Call me

Na na na na, na na na na
Na na na na, na na na-na na-na
Na na na na, na-na na-na na na
Na na na na, na na na na

At this point, everybody is just dancing, including Chuck and Sarah...with each other...in one another's arms. It's a sight that Molly notices to the point where she screams just for the hell of it, because she sees how happy her sister is just dancing with the big nerd. Afterwards, the sound of bongos is heard and the person playing it is Jeff. He's getting into it and so is Lester who is moving his body from side to side without a care in the world while at the same time pointing to his much older performing partner. It's then that Jeff twists his body again inevitably swinging his keytar forward in order to play the bass part of the song itself. In that moment, the courtyard becomes totally unhinged and it's mass hysteria, with everybody dancing as the line dancing with instruments continues for Jeffster.

If you'll be my bodyguard
I can call you Betty
If you'll be my bodyguard
I can call you Betty
If you'll be my bodyguard

Jeffster then turns around and heads towards the back of the stage descending down the stairs. The make their way stage left while continuing to play the instruments and as they do, they suddenly start a conga line. A conga line that involves some of the kids, Cherice along with her parents, hospital nursing staff, much of the crowd and Big Mike. Meanwhile Chuck has both arms raised celebrating an awesome performance and turns briefly to Vivian who is jumping up and down clapping her hands. She is about to reach out to Chuck when two hands suddenly reach up and interlock her hands with hers. When she peers down, she sees that it's Molly who is screaming up at her with pure joy, jumping up and down as well. Unbeknownst to her, Molly is doing everything in her power to keep Operation V Block alive, which brings a satisfying smirk to Sarah's lips after briefly glancing at her sibling partner in crime. The live YouTube show ends with Jeff and Lester continuing the conga line leading everybody inside Westside Medical Center.

It took at least 30 minutes or so for everything to settle down. Jeffster's performance still resonating with everyone, which is still unbelievable to even think about for Chuck, Sarah, and the rest of the gang. Once the courtyard is cleared of the crowd all the individuals that are left consist of Jeff, Lester, Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Morgan, Molly, Emma, Vivian, Hartley, Big Mike and Scooter, who decided to show up. Ellie and Devon left in order to put Clara down because she was starting to get fussy, as well as visibly tired after all the fun they were having as a family. In any case, the 2 men who brought the courtyard down, musically speaking, stand in front of Chuck and Sarah as they find themselves being given the verdict when it comes to their performance.

"Fellas..." said Chuck in absolute disbelief. "...I can't believe I'm saying this but you rocked it out there." he added throwing up his hands. A surprised smile expressed towards Jeffster. A look of growing hope in their eyes as they stand there awaiting their fate. The nerdy host then turns to the man in charge of them. "How'd they do Big Mike?"

"For once, I'm actually proud of you boys." he stated getting a bit emotional. "I just need you focused on working your jobs now."

"Guys, you were awesome. This may have been our best show yet!" declared Morgan in absolute disbelief.

"You guys rocked even though that's old people's music. What was that like the 60's or 70's?" shrugged Molly.

In that moment, Emma steps in to pull her youngest daughter back before a full out war happens against a 13 year old teenager. "I'm sorry about her." apologized the matriarch of the Walker women.

In that instance, Sarah chimes in, a bit amused, then shakes her head concerning her little sister's comments. "I don't think that will be a problem Big Mike." She briefly glances at Chief Beckman's executive personal assistant. "Scooter."

"Chief?"

"I would like for you, Chuck and Hartley..." She pauses to direct her attention to Chuck's family friend. "If you want to, Hartley that is?"

Hartley eyes light after hearing what she potentially suggested to him. "I'll be thrilled to take part in putting together a contract for Charles. It gives us time to catch up on old times." he smiled, nodding over to Stephen's son.

"Excellent." Sarah then returns her attention to Jeff and Lester. A question suddenly hits her. "Will Emmitt still be representing you?"

Jeff and Lester immediately huddle up as low but clearly audible whispers are heard between the two men. It wouldn't be long before they give her an answer. "He's fired." they both say unison.

"Ok. Gentlemen..." she stops then corrects herself. Sarah then takes a step forward. "...more importantly Mr. Patel." she added locking eyes with Lester.

"Yes Chief." nodded Lester.

"You're lucky to even be getting a second chance. Don't blow it. The more hard work you put in, the greater the chances you'll perform on that stage..." she firmly reiterated pointing behind them. "...again." Sarah clearly notices a mixture of eagerness and excitement on their faces. It's something that's quite possibly they've never experienced before when it involves something they've actually taken seriously, she thinks to herself. So, she further investigates. "How did that feel?" she wondered.

"Exhilarating..." answered Lester shaking his head. "...like being on a high that I...we never want to come down from."

Chuck immediately interjects himself into the conversation. "Hold on to that. That feeling. That high."

Lester shakes his head. "I never really believed we would ever get that feeling. You know." he stated shrugging his shoulders.

"I always believed..." stated Jeff. His left hand placed on Lester's right shoulder. "...especially in you." he added expressing a reaffirming smile.

"Ok Jeffrey, don't make it weird." he retorted side stepping to the left. He jerks his left shoulder away from Jeff's hand on it. Their attention would be directed back to Chief Walker once again after they hear the sound of clearing throat.

Sarah is momentarily silent as everybody is waiting with baited breath as what she'll say concerning Jeffster's performance. "Not bad. Let's see what you got for next time." she firmly nodded with her arms crossed. A slight smirk expressed towards Jeffster. Afterwards, she walks off leaving Jeff and Lester in stunned silence but would subsequently celebrate with Lester jumping on Jeff as Chuck looks on shaking his head. While doing so Casey expresses a cringe grunt knowing full well that he'll have to deal with those morons a bit longer than anticipated, he thinks to himself. Yet, he smirks knowing it's only a matter of time before they truly slip up and he'll be there to throw their asses out when they do.

As Sarah is about is about to escort Emma and Molly back up to her office, Vivian stops her in order to speak with her. "Sarah, I would love to get together and have chat. If you have the time of course."

For a moment, Sarah considers turning her down but then reconsiders it because of what her little brat of a younger sister found out. So, she accepts her offer. "Sure, is the weekend good with you? Saturday or Sunday?"

"Actually..." Vivian shakes her head. "...I'll be on a business trip for the next 5 days as I'm assisting in getting an overseas branch of our law firm squared away up there." She immediately takes out her cell phone and looks for her schedule app, taps, and then scans through it. After a few seconds, she speaks up. "Are you free Thursday? Lunch or Dinner would be absolutely splendid."

"I'll see you Thursday then." nodded Sarah. A tight-lipped smile shot her way. Afterwards, the two women part ways, with Vivian heading back to where her father is and Sarah heading over to her mother and Molly. While doing so, she makes a plan to spend as much time with Chuck as she possibly can during those 5 days. As she glances back over her left shoulder, she knows one thing is for sure and that is on Thursday she'll be marking her territory one way or another to where the Wildcard Enforcer may or may not show up, she thinks to herself.

NOTE: So, what do you think of Jeffster's song performance and the song itself? I had a couple choices to pick from like 500 Miles by the Proclaimers, Whip It by Devo, The Neverending Story to Take On Me by Aha and others. Overall, what did you think? Leave a comment and share your thoughts on this latest chapters. It's getting good with as Sarah has a renewed sensed of vigor when it comes to Chuck in regards to her rivalry with Vivian. Yet, is it really rivalry? Hmmm.
