Chuck vs. The Courtyard Bench

Well, in the previous chapter: Dr. Dreyfus makes a hospital call in order to mediate a family therapy session between Sarah and Jack. It's during their intense session that Jack ends up divulging that his mother, Rebecca Franco, was mentally and emotionally abusive. When he turned 18 he moved out and never looked back. He would find out later that his mother got in trouble with the law, got arrested, and placed into court mandated medical care. His mother was diagnosed with clinical depression and bipolar disorder. Jack never let go of the resent toward his now medicate mother even after he called to have her meet Emma, which Sarah was floored by after finding out. As for Chuck, he was busy on his end with Vali and Hartley in the process of using the Golden Ration and the Fibonacci sequence to locate his father. After sharing his insights, he believes Stephen Bartowski can be found. Stay tune for that. What's in store for this chapter? So, here's the who, what, where, when, why, and how of it. What nostalgic move and song does Chuck sing that has Jack nodding away while sitting in his hospital room bed? Who did Sarah want to marry when she was a little girl that Jack remembered because of the nostalgic movie? When did Sarah find out about the information that is pertinent to saving his lift? Why does Jack think that Sarah is proud of him? How did the Rockstar Rebels react to Chuck's song dedicated to them? Read and find out! I hope you enjoy the read and leave a comment to share your own thoughts on this particular chapters. As always, reviews are awesome.

Again, if you enjoyed reading my stories and left a comment I truly appreciate it. Please continue to do so as it gives me the incentive to write more chapters.

I don't own Chuck.

The days leading up to Friday's Bash At The Bench would most definitely be a mental and not to mention emotional week for Chuck and Sarah, but at the same time achieving considerable progress when it comes to dealing with family issues. However, when it came to the song that would kick off the festivities the nerdy YouTube host of Nerdy Nerfherder and Fuzzball had difficulty in trying to figure out what to sing causing him to momentary spiral during their usual heart to heart talks. He confided in her that he hasn't been entirely focused because of the progress he, along with Hartley, have been making in trying to find his father and didn't want to end up letting everybody down. Mostly the kids. In his mind, the tribute song for a Rockstar Rebel is truly something special that means so much.

Fortunately, Sarah understood as she hasn't been entirely focused either after what Jack revealed during their family therapy session with Dr. Dreyfus. She assured Chuck that everybody has and will always be rooting for him, especially the kids who brighten up whenever they see him. She continued on by comparing him to a shining star that all the kids in the hospital can look up to, smile, and make a wish in hopes of brightening their day when it feel considerably gloomy, as well as dark. It's a wish that certainly comes true as each and every child beams with absolute joy after spending time having fun just talking and laughing.

What she also points out is not to put so much pressure on himself and to heed the advice his father shared with him when he wasn't able to get completely focused. Of course, her comforting pep talk and reminder of who Chuck Bartowski is, is greatly appreciated and the nerdy couple share a kiss. The aforementioned kiss they shared would inevitably lead Chuck to experience a flash causing him to suddenly see an image thus causing him to quickly separate his lips from hers. Afterwards, he expressed his usual toothy smile towards her and she simply responded by expressing the following two words: You're Welcome.

Now, Chuck is on stage as Jeff and Lester are backing him up vocally along with their selected instruments. His overall demeanor is upbeat knowing his better half was able to stop himself from completely spiraling. In any case, the nerdy host is rocking back and forth getting lost in the groove of the song while the crowd in the courtyard is clapping, as well as dancing. The performance is nearing the middle of the opening song for the show, which is Don't You Forget About me by Simple Minds. A song from the movie The Breakfast Club, which is pure nostalgic fun. It's not long before he jumps into bridge of the popular, as well as iconic 80's song.

Hey, hey, hey, hey
Ooh, whoa

Won't you come see about me?
I'll be alone, dancing, you know it, baby
Tell me your troubles and doubts
Giving me everything inside and out and

Love's strange, so real in the dark
Think of the tender things that we were working on
Slow change may pull us apart
When the light gets into your heart, baby

Everybody is jamming away from the pure nostalgia trip that happening outside within the courtyard. The individuals inside the hospital are also jamming as well with nurses, doctors, patients, visitors dancing around, which is usually the norm when it's Bash At The Bench. One of those patients who is somewhat getting into in the festivities is Jack. He's just sitting there in his hospital room bed nodding to the song to the point where he expressed the following words while focused on the television.

"Not Bad, Schnook."

"Not bad? Jack's attention on screen is then directed to his left at the main door of his room. It's his oldest daughter standing there holding something in both her hands. "He's doing awesome." she added smiling, momentarily turning his attention towards the television. "Plus, Chuck does have that nerdy Anthony Michael Hall like quality to him." Afterwards, she steps forward and then stops near the foot of Jack's bed where the rolling table is sitting.

"Didn't you used to love Judd Nelson's character when you were a little girl? I remember you wanting to change your name to Claire because they ended up together by the end of the movie. At one point, you even wanted to marry him." he stated humorously, in a questioning manner.

In her mind, what her father said was true because she loved that movie growing up. She definitely saw herself as Claire Standish, a "Princess", with a little of Ally Sheedy's character of the "Basket Case", Allison Reynolds added in. Granted, the old Sarah Walker would have never given a chance or the time for someone like a nerdy Brian Johnson, but definitely would give her attention to the John Bender bad body type or the Andrew Clark jock type played by Emilio Estevez. Not anymore after meeting and getting to know Chuck, she thinks to herself.

"I was young and naïve. The bad boy and the good girl. It's cliché. Yeah, works out in the movies, but not so much in real life." she shared, glancing briefly behind her rolling her eyes. A few seconds later, her smile grows a little bit wider. "This time the nerd gets the girl." she breathed out.

After saying that, she places those aforementioned items on the rolling table leading the former untouchable political spin doctor God to immediately focus on it. Speaking of the former untouchable political spin doctor, he quirks his right brow and then averts his attention back to his oldest daughter who enjoying her nerdy boyfriend's performance. While sitting there, he leans back a bit and a soft smile is expressed on his lips just observing the pure enjoyment and loving admiration in her eyes for a guy gave him a damn good hard right cross. It's that particular thought in which he smirks knowing full well he deserved as Jack Burton, the self-proclaimed God in the political world, enjoys pushing people's button. Afterwards, he shakes his head to where he speaks up.

"What's that?" he inquired, stretching his neck upward a bit trying to take a peek.

Sarah turns her head back turning her attention to the two items sitting on the rolling table then to Jack. "Ice Cream. It's rocky road."

"Really. Hmmm." nodded Jack, rather curious. "I remember giving you or taking you to get ice cream whenever I was proud of you for something. So, what did I do to deserve some Rocky Road? Are you proud of me?"

"Maybe." Sarah responded, briefly shrugging her shoulders. She then takes her cup of rocky road ice cream with small spoon and takes a bite. Afterwards, she pulls then pushes the rolling table to a stop with his cup of rocky road on the right side of his bed. She slides over to a nearby chair on the other side of the room and sits down continuing to dig into her favorite cup of ice cream. Jack would do the same and after few moments of silence with the two of them enjoying the delectable dessert, he would speak up.

"You know that Dr. Dreyfus?"

"Mhm. What about him?" she asked, with a mouth full of Rocky Road.

"I guess it's…"

Sarah furrowed her eyebrows not really getting the rest of what Jack mumbled. After swallowing the remaining Rocky Road in her mouth, she tries to figure what the other half of the sentence that she didn't clearly hear or understand.

"What?" Once again Jack mumbles back a response. This time, Sarah leans forward placing the now nearly empty cup of rocky road on her lap. "What did you say?"

"Scam!" Jack blurted out loud." He pauses and after clearing his throat he continues on. "I guess it's not a scam. He knows what he's talking about." he begrudgingly admitted. A quick shrug of his shoulders added in.

In response, a mix of smirk and a smile is expressed on Sarah's lips. She then leans comfortably back in the chair she's sitting in. "I'll be sure to tell him that."

"Don't you dare." he retorted back, pointing with the ice cream spoon to his oldest daughter. "Then he'll know he's doing his job. I don't won't him to know that."

Instantly, Sarah arches her right brow and utters out loud 3 words that just come to her mind. "You're an idiot." she said, softly chuckling.

For Jack, hearing his daughter finally express laughter instead of the usual pent up, unresolved anger directed towards him is a tremendous change of pace. As much as he wanted to respond back, he simply wanted to enjoy the moment because for the both of them it's the first time they're actually enjoying each other's company without ripping one another apart. While sitting there stirring the remaining remnants of rocky road cream in his cup with the spoon, he scoops it up, then sticks it in his mouth. As he does, he hears Sarah speak up.

"That bioartificial kidney has been made."

Jack, with a spoon full of rocky road ice cream just stuck in his closed mouth, turns his head to face Sarah. Once his focus is fully directed to her, he sees that her head is down, but suddenly sees that she's slowly lifting then turning her head in his direction to where they eyes are now locked. The information that she just shared with him about the life saving technology that he was so close to having all the money to invest in is now a reality gradually sinking in.

XXX

Sarah and Jack have been relatively quiet for the past 5 minutes in his hospital room after the surprise information was just revealed. In those aforementioned 5 minutes a plethora of mixed emotions came over the former go to political spin doctor from happiness to coming close to getting out of bed to do a happy dance. Instead, he finally takes out the ice cream spoon from his mouth that's been placed there for the whole 5 minutes and gives his response.

"When? How…long have you known?" he stammered out, shaking his head.

"Ted Roark…of Roark Enterprises contacted me. I don't know how he got my number. I think Chuck gave it him. Anyways, he's the guy that invested in the production of the artificial kidney that you tried to invest with from those two guys from the School of Medicine at UCLA." she thoroughly shared. "They've been ready since the beginning of this week."

Jack is once again letting that piece of information sink in. After sitting there in his hospital bed in silence, he shakes his head and then finally speaks up. A faint smile of realization beforehand, but it quickly fades inevitably returning his attention to his oldest daughter.

"You've been holding on it until now. Why?"

There's a brief moment of silence before Sarah answers. After giving off a somewhat elongated exhale, she speaks up. "Truthfully, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. You are…" She pauses for second then continues on. "…well you."

In response, Jack gives a nod acknowledging his reputation for striking a target when a situation has relatively calmed down, especially when it involves the cutthroat world of politics. Essentially, by doing this it completely takes an individual or a group of individuals by surprise to the point where if it's perfectly executed it leaves anyone absolutely speechless because of the immense impact that nobody saw coming. However, there's one problem though leading him to speak up.

"If you're thinking I'm getting ready to drop The Burton Bomb…" he said, shaking his head once again. "…I'm not. No lulling you into a false sense of security. I don't have anything up my sleeve." Jack added, spreading both his bare arms out to the side. He can see the questionable uncertainty in Sarah's eyes leading the former patriarch of the Walker family to stick the ice cream spoon into the empty cup then place it on the rolling table that's right by his bed. "I got nothing left."

"You're not just saying that are you?" she asked, in a questioning manner.

"Word's probably spread already. My name doesn't hold any weight anymore and nobody wants to work with someone after abruptly leaving Garretty's campaign. That's the kiss of death."

"You mean quit."

The word "quit" gets the desired effect as he bites the bottom of his lip causing him to immediately look at ceiling. While doing so, he knows he doesn't want to regret saying something that would end up jeopardizing his second chance at a new life. After taking a few deep breathes, he turns his attention "Listen, I signed your contract remember. Done everything you've told me to do. I've jumped when you said to jump." he insisted, assuring Sarah he's not playing any kind of mental chess game with her.

"I remember. Besides…." Sarah pushes herself into a standing position and take a step then stops at the foot of Jack's bed. "…Hartley is the best and you'd probably ask for death instead of dealing with him." she declared, quirking her right brow towards him.

"I hear you loud and clear, darlin'." Jack retorted, holding both hands up in front of him. He cracks a faint grin afterwards knowing full he's faced countless lawyers head on in the past and was able to get off the hook practically unscathed. Unfortunately, it was a time during his God-like immortality and now that he's mortal he doesn't want to find himself facing a guy who would seemingly enjoy eviscerating someone like him, he thinks to himself. His thoughts are set aside when he fully focuses on his daughter standing across from him behind the foot of his bed. "Look at you. You've changed and seem so much happier now."

"I finally know who I am." Sarah answered back, crossing her arms.

"Who are you?"

"My true self. I love to sing. I'm a nerd. Potterhead."

"Pothead? Oh right. It's legal here."

"No." moaned Sarah, rolling her eyes. "Potterhead. Another name for Harry Potter fandom." She briefly glances over at Jack who acknowledges his mistake. Afterwards, she takes a brief moment to gather her thoughts then forges on. "For a long time, I felt lost and have been through so many rocky situations mentally and emotionally because of you. Trying to break free from your influence and being molded into someone I'm not. You. No matter how hard I tried I ended up hearing your voice in my head. I thought taking this job in a completely different zip code would help change that."

"Did it?"

Sarah nods. "Yet, somehow you managed to show up and screw everything up. I've made a life here with new found friends. They have my back, especially Chuck. I started finding my way back to the person I can I now look in the mirror and not hate."

"You hated yourself?" questioned Jack, with genuine concern in his voice.

"I made compromises because of you, especially when it came to my relationship with Cole. Listening to you caused me to become someone that just wasn't me. It cost me my self-worth because I felt I was treated more as an accessory than human being."

"I didn't know. I was simply looking out for your best interests. Cole was considered a ticket to the good life. A life of money, extravagance, and rubbing elbows with rich celebrities/athletes."

"That's what you wanted, Jack. If you think that's the life I wanted, you don't know me at all." She takes a step back then turns towards the hospital room window. After stopping in front of that window, she keeps her arms crossed while continuing to speak. "I'm genuinely happy and…" She momentarily stops to turn her head to look out the window.

In the momentary pause to look out the window, Jack clearly heard it in her voice and sees it in her body language evident by the glimpse of the smile she just expressed. However, he's not reading Sarah as someone who he can take full advantage in a mentally and emotionally vulnerable state to manipulate her. No. He's reading this woman to actually know how she feels in order to gauge how a father would be able to respond/answer his daughter, which is something he's doing for the first time.

"You're in love."

"Yes."

"With Schnook."

"His name is Chuck."

"He's not Cole."

"You're right. He's not…." she firmly retorted back. "…and that's awesome." A bright smile clearly expressed for him to see. It's at that point, Sarah slides her way towards the door in order to leave Jack's room but not before throwing her now empty ice cream cup and spoon in the trash.

"Wait!" he quickly said, in order to stop from leaving.

"What?" Sarah doesn't look at her father right away. She just stands there in front of the open doorway leading out into the hall. A few seconds later, she finally turns to Jack.

"This guy is a classic schnook…" Sarah is about to respond, but Jack quickly chimes in before she does. "...BUT, he's loyal and he'll never betray you even if he was offered $10 mill." he shared with a nod, slightly tilting his head expressing a soft smirk.

It took a moment for Sarah to figure out that her father saying that is his way of approving of Chuck without actually saying out loud, especially after hearing about the $10 mill offer. In response, she simply expresses a soft smile back to his father then heads out the door to join her colleagues/friend and the rest of the individuals in the courtyard for Bash At The Bench. As for Jack, his attention returns to the television where he now sees Chuck in costume amongst a group of kids leading him to just shake his head.

"So Isaac…" Chuck said, sitting on the blue bench. Sarah, now standing beside Beckman, with Casey, Morgan, Ellie, Devon, and Big Mike standing by the camera area as they're getting the 411 on the newest Rockstar Rebel chosen. Isaac Takiyama was introduced beforehand to everyone in the courtyard along with viewers watching online. He's a 15 year old young man, smart, Asian of average height, and considers himself a big nerd. A bandage over his left eye covered by some wire rim glasses. Unfortunately, he's been dealing with a type of eye cancer that is inhibiting from enjoying what he loves to do. "…you love looking up at the stars even though you have been dealing with Intraocular Uveal Melanoma."

Isaac nods in response. "Both eyes are effected. t actually started in my left eye then my right My left eye was far worse than my right, which is why I use a cane. My parents thought I just needed glasses. Anyways, my doctors say it's a rare form of cancer, but it's not stopping me from looking up at the stars."

"That's awesome. You're a nerd like myself."

"Nerds stick together, Chuck."

"Yeah, we do." nodded the YoutTube host. He reaches out for a fist tap that Isaac reciprocates. The crowd within the courtyard claps their hands together for the young man sitting down next to Chuck who seemingly has a positively great outlook on life. He's not letting the cancer that spread to both his eyes stop him from taking part in what he's passionate about. "I did my research and when it comes to people who suffer from Intraocular Uveal Melanoma, they deal with blurred vision…" he shared, taking a moment to give a quick nod towards the 10 year old. "…floaters otherwise known as spots that drift in your field of vision, flashes of light, dark spot on the iris, a change in the size/shape of the pupils, and a change in the position of the eyeball in the eye socket."

Once again Isaac nods. "Blurred vision, dark spot on the iris and change in the position of my right eyeball in the eye socket. That's what I'm mostly dealing with." he shared, shrugging his shoulders.

"What's the treatment been like for you?" inquired the youngest Bartowski sibling.

"Surgery. Just waiting to see if it works." he answered back, reaching up to adjust his glasses. "If not, my doctors say the next step is radiation therapy."

"You're a tough kid, Isaac." Chuck smiled. "You're like Matt Murdock."

"Daredevil?"

"Marvel fan?"

"And DC."

"Comics?"

"Yep. Not so much the movies for DC. Marvel hits gold but DC can be hit or miss." Isaac quickly added in.

"True."

Isaac refocuses back on the matter at hand. "I relate in a way to Daredevil minus the whole tragic super hero back story involving a dead parent, losing my eyesight from radioactive material, but gaining powers because of it. That's the dream of any kid growing up that's into super hero comics and movies."

"You speak the truth." Chuck retorted, pointing and smiling at Isaac.

"Anyways, I get my toughness from my parents" responded the 15 year old, glancing over his left shoulder. Isaac's parents wave to their son as they stand next to Alex. His mother holding his cane while he's being interviewd. "Ever since I got diagnosed with what I have 4 years ago, they've tried to be strong for me, but I can tell it's been tough for the both of them mentally. Emotionally too. Rocked them to their core. I'm not blind." he humorously added.

"You got a sense of humor. That's awesome."

"Got to, Chuck." Isaac shrugged. "Like I said, this cancer isn't stopping me from looking up at the star. At one point, I wanted to be astronomer. Did you know there are at least 9.9096 stars visible to the naked eye in the entire sky? Also, here's another fact about stars. They're born in batches in their stellar universe. Over time, they travel though the Milky Way. "

Chuck quirks his right brow after hearing those impressive star stats. "I did not know that." he nodded. "Tell me something, are you shooting for something higher? You said, at one point you wanted to be an astronomer."

"I want to work for NASA." he enthusiastically announced, with determination in his voice.

After announcing his intentions, Chuck and the crowd in the courtyard erupt in applause for his ultimate life, as well as career goal to achieve. For the nerdy business owner, this is by far the first Rockstar Rebel in Bash At The Beach history that has a career goal set in mind and seemingly is determined to achieve it. In his mind, the people at the most prestigious origination known to man in regards to space travel are most definitely going to take notice of this young man. Hopefully, they'll give him the opportunity to have a taste of what it's like to be working at a place that has ongoing mission to land, as well as receive any information involving Mars. If they're able to achieve their mission, Isaac certainly can as well, he thinks to himself.

"Awesome. Shoot for it. Anything is possible." His attention is then directed toward the crowd. "Am I right Bartowski Brigade!?" he added, rousing the crowd into applause of encouragement.

"Thanks, Chuck."

"No problem. Don't let anything stop you from reaching your goal." Chuck reaches for another fist tap to which Isaac reciprocates once again.

"I won't." smiled Isaac, widely.

Afterwards, Chuck stands up and addresses the crowd. "Next up I'll be dedicating a song to not just Isaac, but all the Rockstar Rebels. Ironically, it's a song that Sarah helped picked out knowing what Isaac enjoys doing. Plus, it a movie they watched together the night before when they were channeling surfing and it certainly brought the feels. "I got to warn you though…" he shared, raising both eyebrows. "…have some tissues ready, Bartowski Brigade." he added, pointing to camera then to viewers in the courtyard.

"You Rockstar Rebels are my inspiration after hearing so many of your stories. The road each and every one of you have been on has been rocky to say the least. A road filled with uncertainty, but you can find that silver lining in hopes of one day being 100% cancer free. I pray for you guys and if it helps I've also wished upon a star that it will come true. My song for you all is by Bryan Adams from the movie Jack starring Robin Williams. The song…Star."

It's at the point, Chuck gives a nod to Morgan who cues up the memorable graduation speech that Robin's character Jack gives leading everybody to hear the following words:

I don't have very much time these days, so I'll make it quick – like my life. You know, as we come to the end of his phase of our life, we find ourselves trying to remember the good times and trying to forget the bad times. And we find ourselves thinking about the future. We start to worry, thinking, "What am I gonna do? Where am I gonna be in ten years?"

But I say to you, "Hey, look at me." Please, don't worry so much, 'cause in the end none of us have very long on this earth. Life is fleeting. And if you're ever distressed, cast your eyes to the summer sky, when the stars are strung across the velvety night, and when a shooting star streaks through the blackness turning night into day - make a wish think of me. And make your life spectacular. I know I did.

The last 4 words echo throughout the seemingly quiet courtyard that was just hooting, hollering, shouting and screaming earlier. It's apparent that speech resonated with the crowd who are now standing there and watching Chuck about to sing on stage with Jeff and Lester starting the song dedicated to all the Rockstar Rebels.

What'cha wanna be - when you grow up
What'cha gonna do - when your time is up
What'cha gonna say - when things go wrong
What'cha gonna do - when you're on your own

It's this point, Chuck suddenly jumps off stage with mic/mic stand in hand and heads stage left towards the kids, but not before waving to Isaac, who is sitting with his parents on the blue bench. After returning the wave, the nerdy YouTube host, motions with his head to join him and he does leading both individuals to stand in front of a group of incredibly excited kids along with a few of the assigned nurses one of them being Alex. Once Chuck situates himself in the spot where he wants, he nods over to Alex who steps forward and guides Isaac back to the spot where she has been standing. The huge smiles on all the kid's face causes the youngest Bartowski sibling to express his oh so familiar toothy smile towards them. A few seconds later, he starts singing.

There's a road...long and winding
The lights are blindin' - but it gets there
Don't give up - don't look back
There's a silver linin' - It's out there somewhere

Everybody wants an answer - Everybody needs a friend
We all need a shinin' star on which we can depend
So tonight we're gonna wish upon a star
We never wished upon before

What'cha wanna be - when you grow up
(To find what we're looking for.)
What'cha gonna do - when your time is up

During the momentary break of the song, the crowd raises their arms then sways them back and forth. It's a sight to behold, but his focus isn't on the crowd as it's solely on the kids. If his focus were on the crowd he would most definitely be impacted as the message of the sings is hitting right on the mark emotionally within the confines of the courtyard. It's so impactful a number people wiping away tears because of how tremendously emotional the song itself is. Unfortunately, he's not aware because he's facing the kids and totally focusing on them. However, he does see Alex wiping away some tears and she's getting all emotional then it's a safe bet that everyone is getting up in their feels as well.

He forces himself not to look out into the crowd because if he does his emotions will take over, especially if he sees Sarah. So he completely avoids the camera area where Morgan, Sarah, Chief Beckman, Casey, Ellie, Devon and Big Mike are located. After taking a deep breath, he briefly lowers his head knowing that his older sister is quite possibly shedding tears causing him to well up with emotion. However, he composes himself and then lifts his head refocusing his attention back on the all the kids standing and/or sitting just a few feet away from him. He then begins singing the next set of lyrics of the song.

There'll be times - In your life
Yeah - When you'll be dancin' n' for it - But you ain't gettin' it
But don't get disillusioned - No, don't expect too much
'Cause if what you have is all you can get - Just keep on trying
It just ain't happened yet

Everybody wants to be a winner - Everybody has a dream
We all need a shinin' star when things ain't what they seem
So tonight we're gonna wish upon a star
We never wished upon before

What'cha wanna be - when you grow up
(Gotta get where you're headed for.)
What'cha gonna do - when your time is up

Once there's another momentary break in the song, Jeff switches from playing the keyboard to give an electric guitar solo that's melodically soft while Lester softly taps away at the drums. They way they're both playing is so impressively beautiful it causes Chuck to close his eyes in order to get lost in the soulful sound of it. As much as the nerdy YouTube host wants to stay in the pocket of Jeffster's soulfully melodic instrumental, he opens his eyes and returns his attention back to the kids he's singing to as he heads into the last sets of lyrics to the song.

Everybody wants some kindness - Everybody needs a break
We all need a shinin' star when things get hard to take
So tonight we're gonna wish upon a star
We never wished upon before
Yeah - Tonight we're gonna wish upon a star
We've never wished upon before

(What'cha wanna be - when you grow up)
(What'cha gonna do - when your time is up)
Gotta find what you're lookin' for
So don't get disillusioned
(What'cha gonna say - when things go wrong
No, don't expect too much
(What'cha gonna do - when you're on your own)
Yeah - It's out there somewhere babe

Once the song ends and fades out, the crowd within courtyard erupts to maddening applause. A combination of cheers, whistles, dog pound barks and whatever else is mixed into the mass celebration of another awesomely outstanding Chuck Bartowski performance. It's not long before he's able to locate and lock eyes with Sarah who proudly smiles at him and wipes away some tears as well. Unfortunately, he doesn't get to step back as usual giving the spotlight to all the kids who are most deserving whether they're Rockstar Rebels are not because he finds himself tackled by them. He ends up being swallowed then completely disappearing out of sight from all the kids dog piling him with hugs that it's adorably special to witness in person and watching online.

NOTE: So what do you think of Sarah and Jack's talk, especially with the use of the rocky road ice cream? She was able to get some issues off her chest that Jack really listened to instead of ignoring. Plus, Jack approving of Chuck in his own way. I hope you enjoyed the nod to Robin Williams and the movie, along with the song that seemed absolutely perfect for Chuck to sing to all the kids, not just Isaac. Share your thoughts and as always, thank to NEVR for doing the beta. You rock dude!
