Chuck vs. The Courtyard Bench

Well, in the previous chapter: Casey was able to deescalate the tense situation with Ty Bennett and in doing so his past was revealed. A past in which Beckman and Forrest learned that he was known by another name, Alex Coburn. A name that he did not go further into detail because it was deemed classified, which Beckman took into consideration. She dismissed Forrest, much to her disappointment. After Forrest left, the hospital's clinical psychologist and Bekman's friend/colleague arrived to assess Ty Bennett. All 3 individuals learned that Bennett was not only suffering from PTSD, but he believed it was 2007. The following day, Casey was relaxing on his day off at the shooting range when Chuck and Sarah showed up. While Chuck went off to explore, his blonde better half talked with her hulking partner. She shared with Casey a medical file that Beckman was able to obtain that belonged to Bennett. Unfortunately, not much information was provided because it was redacted. Fortunately for Casey, he knew someone that would give him the answers. The day before Bash At The Bench, executive producer, Alexis White, arrived with her assistant, Mark Ratner, actress Heather Chandler, and actor Steven Pollak. Needless to say, Jeffster made their presence known because they were big fans of Heather. After Casey dragged them away to have a word with the two men, the actor, actress, assistant and executive were given a guided tour. So, what happens in this chapter? Here are the who, what, where, when, why, how's? Who does Mark run into and avoided being verbally assaulted while touring the main the hospital? What does Alexis White do that causes Sarah to roll her eyes? Where does Pollak see himself going with his thoughts concerning a possible idea during his visit at pediatrics with Chuck and Morgan? When does Sarah get a chance to talk to Heather alone? Why does Sarah react absolutely shocked and speechless after something is revealed by Heather? How does Casey react when he finally comes face to face with the person who he believes has all the answers concerning Bennett? Read and find out! I hope you enjoy the read and leave a comment to share your own thoughts on this particular chapters. As always, reviews are awesome.

Again, if you enjoyed reading my stories and left a comment, I truly appreciate it. Please continue to do so as it gives me the incentive to write more chapters.

I don't own Chuck.

For the next 20 minutes, Sarah and Chief Beckman gave Heather and White the grand tour of Westside Medical Center. White's assistant, Mark Ratner, followed all four ladies like a very well-trained dog that jumped at every beckoning call given by the rather demanding executive producer who represented Five Elders Studios. Although White constantly barked orders at him, as if she actually enjoyed putting him through the ringer, he didn't break out of frustration and took every task given to him by her in his stride. It was something that the Chief Operating Officer took notice of and was rather impressed by, despite how overwhelmed he seemed to look at times.

During their tour of the hospital, Mark had an unfortunate encounter with the hospital's head IT guy, Lazlo, who ventured out the comfortable confines of The Bunker to get a snack from the vending machine. He accidentally bumped into the hospital's highly qualified and expert information technician, who hads never really considered himself a people person. Fortunately for White's assistant, Lazlo was having a good day and instead of chewing out the poor kid after he accidentally stepped on the bag of bugles he'd just purchased. After repeatedly apologizing for fear of his life, Mark offered to buy Lazlo 3 bags of bugles from the vending machine, which were gladly accepted. Thankfully, the threat level of a Lazlo ballistic missile obliterating an innocent soul was raised back up to a FIVE after it dropped significantly to ONE.

The group stopped briefly in the main conference room, where the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Administrator had addressed the senior staff countless times for morning meetings. It was also a place where a truly special memory happened for Sarah, when Chuck officially asked her to go on a date in front of those same senior staff who couldn't stop smiling at her after it happened. In any case, Sarah and Beckman shared what tended to be involved when it came to their respective leadership positions with their 3 guests. However, before they did, Sarah shared with Heather how she actually started off her second day on the job as Beckman's newly appointed 2nd in command.

"You were basically thrown into the deep end of the pool," White stated, shaking her head in disbelief.

"I would have freaked out," Heather responded. Her eyebrows raised in astonishment.

"I was, but on the inside," retorted Sarah, standing and leaning forward against the podium. "Luckily, I had an awesome team backing me all the way, including Chief Beckman," she shared, glancing over at her boss and expressing an appreciative smile.

In that instance, Beckman nodded then spoke up, "Indeed. From my understanding, it was a bit overwhelming for Sarah, especially since Fridays are considered truly eventful."

"Bash At The Bench!"

All four females turned their attention to the voice of the person who suddenly chimed in. It was Mark who flashed a quirky smile as his attention eventually fell on Heather. Sarah followed his gaze as he momentarily locked eyes with the actress. The Chief Operating Officer took notice of the soft smile that was given back by Heather. Unfortunately, the brief exchange between the two was broken up as Mark's attention was suddenly averted to his boss. His abrupt response apparently didn't go over too well with White, as he received a threatening glare from the executive producer. Her threatening glare caused the assistant to lower his head a bit and slink back to the chair he sat in.

After clearing her throat, Heather returned her attention to Sarah. "Is that how you and Chuck met?" she inquired. The sound of genuine curiosity in her voice. Sarah nodded. She expressed a soft smile thinking back on that moment that became truly special for her. Heather continued on with her inquiry. "Love at first sight?" she asked, arching up her right brow.

"Not necessarily," answered Sarah, shaking her head. She took a moment to think back on what led to their eventual face to face encounter with a man who would eventually become her nerdy fiancée. "It was my second day on the job and I looked out my 3rd floor office window. There were two suspicious looking individuals down in the courtyard. It was Chuck and Morgan. I called Casey and told him to meet me there. "

"What happened?"

"When I walked up to Chuck standing in front of our blue courtyard bench, he was rapping the name Vicky Vale from the movie Batman. It was cute," Sarah shared, reflecting back with amusement. "The look on his face when he finally saw me standing in front of him was absolutely priceless." She shook her head and then expressed a soft chuckle. "A year later and a number of personal issues both of us have worked through," Sarah lifted her left hand showing her engagement ring. "We're engaged."

It's at that point, White furrowed her eyebrows towards Sarah as she stood in front of the first row of conference tables. She then spoke up with something on her mind, "I don't want to sound rude…"

Instantly, Sarah expressed an amused smile and responded. "How does a woman like me end up falling in love with a huge nerd like Chuck?" This time, White nodded. "Well, I'm a huge nerd to begin with and Chuck learned that when we went on our non-date?"

"Non-date?" questioned Heather. Her eyes and ears perked up after she heard that.

Sarah was about to continue on sharing how the events that led up to asking Chuck to go out with her as friends, when the executive producer directed her attention to her assistant.

"Mark!"

"Yes, ma'am!" he quickly responded. Mark shot straight up into a standing position.

White smirked and then locked eyes with her assistant. "Take notes," she barked. Her attention was then directed back to Sarah who crossed her arms. "What? It's additional background research for Heather's character Katrina Omaha. Hey, you already signed the contract," she added, briefly holding up both hands.

Sarah stared at White for what seemed like forever, until she rolled her eyes then gave a soft sigh. That was the cue for White. She turned her head and looked over to Mark and gave him a firm nod. The 2nd in command of Westside Medical watched as Mark immediately dug through his murse and eventually retrieved a mini recording device. He slid his way off to the right, out into the open aisle, and then made his way around the first conference table he was sitting behind toward the podium. However, he tripped on his own feet, which caused him to stumble. Fortunately, he regained his balance instead of falling flat on his face on the floor. In any case, he stumbled his way to the front of the main conference room podium, turned on the mini recording device, and then placed it down a few inches away from the podium microphone. Afterwards, he returned to where he was seated all within a matter of seconds.

For the Chief Operating Officer, it was an impressive sight to witness from a guy who was seemingly well prepared for any contingency that White threw at him, she thought to herself. In her mind, Mark resembled Chuck in certain ways and that thought caused her to crack a bit of a smile. Her attention was then averted once again to Heather who was softly smiling while her head was lowered a bit. The fiancée of Chuck Bartowski then keenly noticed that she briefly glanced over in Mark's direction and brushed the hair on her right side behind her right ear, which was noticed by White's assistant. Of course, there wasn't any conclusive evidence that what she witnessed and observed was actually true. So, she took it upon herself to investigate further by mentally gathering more notes regarding a possible relationship going on between Mark and Heather. Her thoughts were abruptly broken by the sound of Heather's voice.

"I have a question,"

Chief Walker refocused her attention back to the actress and her former classmate. "About the non-date with Chuck?" Sarah asked, quietly hoping it's not that. She circled back to what Heather mentioned before being interrupted by White ordering Mark to take notes.

"No." Heather shook her head then abruptly stopped. "Yeah, but we'll get to that later." she added, briefly waving her left hand. After she took a deep breath, the actress gathered her thoughts before she asked her question. "What's the biggest crisis you as Chief Operation Officer have had to deal with here at the hospital?" White inquired.

Sarah didn't have to stop and think about it, because she instantly knew the answer to Heather's question. "The refinery explosion at World Oil Refining located by the 101 of the Los Angeles Freeway. It resulted in a massive traffic crash pile up."

"It was a couple days after I was out on my well-deserved vacation," chimed in Beckman. She then turned to her 2nd in command and proudly smiled at her. "She certainly stepped up. Her leadership abilities were at the forefront and most definitely put to the test during those two days of crisis management. I was, and still am, damn proud of her for staying levelheaded amidst the chaos."

"So, what happened?" White inquired, expressing genuine interest. Heather and Mark were also genuinely interested as well.

Although it happened a year ago for Sarah, it felt like it was only yesterday that she experienced one of the most chaotically controlled moments of her professional life. "Where do I start?" Afterwards, she shook her head and instantly reflected back on that immensely harrowing, but career defining moment in time. "Well, what immediately comes to mind was the influx of treatable to near fatal injuries that were rushed to the hospital by a number of ambulances. It was a madhouse and…"

*Same time frame with Heather's Hospital tour*

"What did you say?" questioned Morgan. His hands placed on his hips and a look of absolute disbelief expressed in his eyes.

Chuck and Morgan stood in front of Heather's co-star, Stephen Pollak. All three individuals were playfully interacting with the pediatric kids. Actually, the nerdy YouTube host and his bearded cameraman were playfully interacting with the kids, while Pollak stood off to the side and took selfies with the kids in the background to post on all his social media pages. Afterwards, he flirted with several of the nursing staff, including Alex who quickly shut him down, which Morgan proudly witnessed for himself.

In any case, it was clearly evident to the nerdy host and cameraman that Pollak was there merely for selfie opportunities. He then posted them on social media, which hopefully were shared by his followers. In the nerd's mind, when it came to first impressions, he looked like a normal guy who was an actor, but anyone can be deceived to where their awful experiences with celebrities were put on blast online for everyone to read. Granted, they are actors and actresses who don't post anything when it comes to certain situations and events, they take part in because they were simply doing it to stroke their own ego. However, Pollak was the complete opposite of that, Chuck thought to himself.

"Do you think the studio will hire kid actors acting like they're sick or will they actually use sick kids?" Pollak repeated again. "I think using kids who are really sick will add so much realism." Afterwards, he lifted his right hand and then gave an exuberant fist pump.

For the youngest Bartowski sibling, he actually thought Pollack was joking at first, but then saw the seemingly serious expression on his face. It didn't sit too well with him, especially after he brought his parents with a cavalier attitude. Awesome first impression dude. In his mind, he took note of how the actor that was shadowing him had the smoothly cool demeanor of Matthew McConaughey from Dazed and Confused with the off putting, prickly personality of Sacha Baron Cohan as Borat. Subtract the Keanu Reeves likeability factor for famously having the reputation of being an awesome human being and you get a guy who you'd love to just repeatedly punch in the face but can't.

Why? He doesn't want to get sued by the actor, or studio for that matter. Plus, dealing with the hospital's Board of Directors because he wasn't able to control his emotions was already considered an annoyingly irritating nightmare, he thought to himself. Speaking of emotions, there was a mixture of emotions swirling within him and the main emotion that was coming to the forefront was anger. Of course, curiosity got the better of him and during a small bathroom break he googled Pollak to not only check out his IMDB page but took a much-needed breather as well. What he found out was that he did sporadic television commercials before he made his round doing soap operas. He also found out that Pollack eventually hit the jackpot when he landed the lead role on a television series that lasted for four seasons called Remember Sunday.

It would have gone for a fifth season, but it was unfortunately canceled despite the tremendous amount of fan support behind it. As much as he wanted to click the link and further read the premise of a seemingly interesting series, Chuck's feeling of anger increased after he suddenly heard Pollack say something that made his blood boil.

"Focus groups and viewers eat up sick kids' storylines," he stated. Pollack's eyes suddenly grew wider. He then lifted his right hand and snapped his fingers. Afterwards, he leaned forward and spoke softly to the two men who stood in front of him. "If I play my cards right, it could lead to an Emmy or a Golden Globe," he added, with a quick wink.

In response, Morgan lowered and then shook his head. "He did not just say that." he faintly muttered under his breath.

Chuck heard his bearded best friend's response. He lowered his head and leaned over a bit to him. "He did, Morg," faintly muttered out as well, with continued disbelief. After he shook his head, he lifted his head and directed his focus on Pollak. "Stephen, I don't think…"

"Oh, even better," Pollak interjected, raising his right index finger. He expressed a noticeable smirk. "An academy award," he softly stated. After a few seconds of thinking of what he could possibly gain, he continued on. "I should call Alexis and check, since she is the executive producer," he stated. Pollak retrieved his cell phone from his right front pants pocket.

"Check on what?" questioned Morgan, quirking his right brow.

"My golden ticket," he shared. Pollak noticed the look of confusion on Chuck and Morgan's face. "Auditioning kids," clarified the former soap opera actor. He was about to hit the call button when Chuck interceded.

"Hold on there, Willy Wonka. You should really think this through," Chuck suggested, for Pollak's own sake.

"Especially when Oompa Loompas are involved," Morgan firmly chimed in.

"Also," Chuck pointed to the kids behind Pollak. "Those Oompa Loompas are off limits. I'm very protective of them," he emphatically stated.

After Pollak glanced behind him, he returned his attention to both men. "Relax guys." He then stepped forward, reached up with the left hand and placed it on Chuck's right shoulder. "And no worries, Chuck. If you say they're off limits, then they're off limits," he acknowledged, holding up both hands in front of him. A firm nod was given as well.

Chuck let out a soft sigh of relief followed with an appreciative smile. "Awesome," he muttered under his breath.

Pollack retracted his left hand but before he did, the actor playfully slapped Chuck's upper right arm. "I have thought this through, Chuck. You're the inspiration for the role of the character I'm playing after all,." he shared, attempting to play up Chuck's ego.

"What is your role by the way? How was the character Brody described to you?" Morgan wondered.

"A pediatrics doctor with a heart of gold when it comes to kids. Think the looks and charisma of George Clooney as E.R.'s Dr. Doug Ross combined with the creative, fun loving, passionate attitude of Robin Williams' role as Patch Adams. Also, add a bit of snarky arrogance and brilliance of Hugh Laurie's Dr. Gregory House without the cane and limp," Pollak thoroughly described. "You get Brody."

Chuck and Morgan briefly turned to each other after they heard Pollack describe the character of Brody. Both seemed skeptical, but at the same time intrigued despite knowing the actual actor behind the character. A brief moment later, a pertinent question on his mind.

"Can you sing?"

"Not a lick," Pollak honestly answered. "But I was told Brody will be part of a band."

"Drummer?" questioned Morgan. "Ranked 2nd to the lead singer."

"Bassist. I can definitely shred an ax." Pollack retorted, suddenly playing air guitar. He then stopped and pointed at Morgan. "And the second thing you said, now that's debatable."

As Morgan and Pollak discussed the ranking system of a band from popular to least popular, one of his pediatric kids got his attention and waved him over. Before he left, Chuck was going to say something to the two men, but they were thoroughly engrossed in the ranking system of band members. So, the youngest Bartowski sibling shook his head and headed off to spend time with the one of the many kids that he considered little brothers and sisters.

The tour of the hospital for Heather was incredibly insightful as it shed new light on the immense responsibility and pressure of how an administrator deals with the day-to-day business, including emergencies that have turned incredibly chaotic. From Sarah's standpoint, her former high school classmate seemed fully zeroed in on every word that was shared with her. Fortunately for Heather, the mini recorder that White placed down on the podium in front of her by the diligent assistant, Mark Ratner, was going to be a tremendous help in getting into character, she thought to herself.

As for Pollak, he was more or less present physically. rather than mentally, even though the only time he actually felt present was during the discussion with Morgan about who ranked popular to least popular in the band. Surprisingly, both men agreed that the keyboardist was considered the least popular among anyone in a band, which briefly amused Chuck. To him, it seemed that even though the actor was as shallow and egotistic as they come, he seemingly had the ability to connect in a way that you somehow ended up liking the douchebag.

In any case, all four of the hospital's guests stood in front of the main nurses' station that led out towards the main exit/entrance of the hospital. They were waiting for their ride, and they weren't waiting alone. Chuck, Sarah, and Chief Beckman waited with them. Unfortunately. Casey was busy with other important matters that were hospital related. While Pollak was busy discussing what he thought up at the pediatrics hospital with White, Chuck couldn't help but be amused by the facial expressions that executive producer was expressing. Facial expressions that Pollack was too oblivious to notice. A few moments later, Chuck struck up a conversation with Mark, who apparently was a big fan of Bash At The Bench.

Meanwhile, Sarah saw that Heather broke off from the group and located her standing in front of the visiting information board halfway down the main corridor entrance of the hospital. She was browsing the information that was tacked up for visitors to read and that gave the Chief Operating Officer of Westside Medical Center the opportunity to speak with her alone, to hopefully make amends. After she took a deep breath, she headed over to where she was located and quietly stood beside Heather. Sarah wasn't really looking at anything in particular because she was waiting for the right time to speak up before she initiated the conversation.

"Read anything interesting," Sarah wondered.

"I never knew CPR was done at the beat of the song, Staying Alive, by the Bee Gees," answered Heather, pointing to one of the flyers on the visiting board. "I'll take note of that."

"You should and it helps," the blonde administrator responded. "But don't get it mixed up with the song, I Will Survive, by Gloria Gaynor, like Michael did in that episode of the Office."

After Heather heard that, she couldn't help but express an amused chuckle. "I remember that episode. I guess I totally forgot about it since it's been a while since I watched it or any of the past episodes. It's the episode where Dwight cuts off the CPR dummy's face and acts like…"

"Hannibal Lecter," both women uttered, the famous movie villain's name in perfect unison.

Sarah and Heather shared soft laughter together. A few seconds later, Sarah circled back to the topic of CPR.

"CPR can come in handy, especially if you're in a situation where you could save a life,." she shared.

"Have you," Heather hesitantly asked, turning her head to face her. "Ever saved a life?"

Heather's question made Sarah think for a moment. It also gave her a way into possibly apologizing and making amends for what she put her former classmate through in high school. After a few more seconds of silence, Sarah responded to Heather's inquiry.

"Not that I can recall," Sarah answered, shaking her head. It's at the point she knew it was now or never. She didn't want to waste any time she had talking about possible scenarios of how she would have reacted if she were in a living saving situation. "I know I've ruined someone's life that I have regretted because I was just a stupid impressionable girl in High School."

Sarah watched as the words that she conveyed to Heather momentarily sunk in for her. The Chief Operating Officer knew that it wasn't actually an apology, but it was at least a start to one for Heather. Speaking of the actress, she turned her head and returned her attention back to the visiting information board. The silence she gave was incredibly awkward for Sarah causing her to somewhat fidget where she was standing. Fortunately, the silence was suddenly broken when Sarah heard Heather speaking up again.

"You actually saved someone's life," Heather turned to her head to face Sarah once again. "Not ruin it. That life you saved," she added, briefly shaking her head. Hollywood's rising female star saw a mixture of perplexed confusion on her former classmate's face. "It was mine."

Speaking of Heather's former classmate, she stood there considerably shocked and speechless after what she just learned. So many thoughts were swirling within her head concerning a life that she didn't actually save. Heather's life. How did I save her life and what did I save her from? For the oldest Walker sibling, it was those two questions and possibly many more that had her wanting to investigate further. Sarah was about to speak up when she was interrupted by White who suddenly approached them.

"Our ride is here," White announced. Chuck and Chief Beckman stood behind her.

Pollak and Mark approached the main entrance door of the hospital where a rather large, as well scary looking individual stood waiting for them.

"Who's the bald tank and built like a wrestler?" Chuck asked, completely wide eyed. "He sort of looks like Stone Cold Steve Austin."

"That's my security," answered White, cracking a smirk.

"His name is Hugo Panzer." Heather stepped over to Chuck and whispered to him. "He's an expert in close-range combat and his weapon of choice is a short sword."

After Chuck heard that, his eyes widened. A sword? That's different. He guessed Panzer wasn't the type of guy to mess with, especially individuals he's paid to protect and keep safely secured, he thought to himself. The nerd cracked a bit of a smile knowing that if Jeff and Lester foolishly attempted to get another autograph or selfie, they'd be taken down by Hugo in an instant with a short sword possibly in hand. In his mind, Jeffster would certainly think twice if that ever happened.

In any case, the actress walked off with White following her. Sarah stood there for a moment before she, Chuck and Beckman accompanied their guests to the vehicle that awaited them. After Hugo opened both right passenger side doors for White and Heather to hop in, he cautiously scanned the surrounding area for anything potentially suspicious or threatening. After his initial visual sweep of the area, he deemed it to be clear. Afterwards, Chuck stood there and softly whistled admiring the rather expensive vehicle he couldn't afford.

"Awesome ride."

"Right." Pollak smirked, from the other side of the vehicle. "Black 2011 Mercedes Benz C65 AMG on R22 Wheels," he shared, before getting into the back left passenger seat.

Chuck just nodded because he really wasn't a car guy. The only thing he understood was that a Mercedes Benz was considered an expensive car. As for The Chief Operating Officer of Westside Medical Center, she desperately wanted to stop her former classmate from leaving so she could learn how she actually saved Heather. There was a bit of chit chat going on between White and Beckman, when Heather hopped into the back right passenger seat. She was about to close the door when Sarah suddenly blurted out something.

"You're all invited back for Bash At The Bench tomorrow!"

A mixture of shocked surprise was expressed by Chuck and Beckman as they turned to look at Sarah. Immediately after the Chief Operating Officer of Westside Medical Center announced the invitation to their guests, Mark's head and upper torso popped out from the very back seat of the Black 2011 Mercedes Benz C65 AMG. He looked past a seated Heather and through the open back right passenger door and responded to Sarah.

"Can I bring my best friend, Shawn!?" Mark gleefully smiled.

Sarah stood there on the sidewalk and smiled with awkward embarrassment in front of everyone. Fortunately for her, the attention was momentarily averted away from her as she heard the sound of White's voice snapping at her assistant Mark once again.

It was 10:30 p.m. and Casey emerged out the front entrance of New Directions, which was the homeless veterans shelter that he checked his sensei and mentor, Ty Bennett, in. He visited Bennett after his shift was over at Westside Medical Center. His visit with Bennett was meaningful because he was able to reconnect with a man who greatly influenced him during his early days as a young Marine Corps grunt. However, he experienced lady feelings because it's that same man who suffered from P.T.S.D after an overseas military incident that involved a mission that seemingly had him thinking it was 2007, which happened within the time of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He crossed the crosswalk towards the parking garage located on the other side of the New Directions, but not before he looked both ways for any incoming vehicles. All was clear. As he made his trek across the crosswalk, he felt an unfamiliarity when it came to dealing with an enemy that not only plays dirty but doesn't play by the rules. He recalled the conversation he had with Dr. Busgang, he learned from 2003-2010 that around 35% of Gulf War veterans experience PTSD. For him, it was a mind-blowing statistic as he now considered the disease that affected someone, he knew in such a tortuous way a sworn enemy.

After the Colonel reached the other side of the street and stepped on the sidewalk in front of the parking garage, he made his way inside. A moment later he stepped inside an elevator and pushed the button for the 2nd level before the elevator door closed. It wasn't long before the elevator door opened, and he stepped out into a somewhat empty 2nd level with a few cars parked sporadically away from each other. As he marched forward to his black 1987 Crown Victoria parked 20 feet away by one of the many sturdy parking garage support pillars, he had an unsettled gut feeling. His heightened state of awareness kicked in, causing his head to be on a swivel. He then lifted the bottom of his shirt a bit with his left hand and cautiously placed his hand on a licensed concealed weapon hidden underneath.

Although Casey's current surroundings had fairly adequate lighting for the parking garage, the unsettled gut feeling he was experiencing wasn't going away. He recalled that Bennett taught him to use that unsettled gut feeling and to always take note of it in order to be prepared for the possibility of being jumped and/or assaulted, which was considered a very bad thing for the would-be assailant(s). The proud marine was about 10 feet from his parked 1987 Crown Victoria when he suddenly saw someone step out from the support pillar. It caused him to immediately stop. He tightly gripped with his right hand the weapon that was hidden underneath his shirt. He stood there for a moment and eyed the man that stood 10 feet away from him. Unfortunately, the mysterious individual in question that stepped out was partially covered in the shadows.

After a few seconds, the individual in question covered in the shadows spoke up. "It's good to see you, Coburn."

The mysterious individual in the shadows stepped forward into the light. It took a moment for Casey to finally recognize who the man was that called him by his other name.

"You gained weight and lost your hair," he responded back, cracking a smirk. "It took you long enough to show up, Scary."

"L.A. traffic was killer," Scary answered, shrugging his shoulders. "You wanted to know what happened to Ty Bennett. I've got the answers," he added. A cocky grin expressed towards Casey.

NOTE: So what do you think of the bombshell dropped on Sarah by Heather? I know you're really interested in wanting to know what happened and you'll know next chapter titled Demons and Angels. Also, I immediately thought of Scary from the Chuck vs. The Sandworm episode to be Casey's contact in order to get the real story. Truth be told his personality in the episode matched with the Scary that I characterized him in my story. I think you'll either enjoy or hate my version of him in the next chapter. In any case, hope you enjoyed the chapter and share your thoughts. Leave a review because it gives writers like myself the incentive to keep on writing.
