( Before reaching Loguetown)

(Nami)

"So you were raised by a former Marine." Mario summarizes what Nami told him.

The plumber has decided to take some time to get to know the crew, one by one.

"Yep. Her name was Bell-mere, and she said she was one of the best." Nami said while tending to her tangerine trees. "Don't know if she was bragging much, but she was quick on his feet and had good accuracy with her guns."

"I see. I guess that's where your quick running technique comes from, she definitely showed you and Nojiko a thing or two considering she almost shot me with that gun point blank."

"She what?!"

"Worry not, it was-a my fault." Mario said, "I surprised her with my appearance on the door."

"But you said she shot you! At point blank-How fast are you?!"

Mario hummed, "I guess pretty fast…I have a friend/rival who moves at the speed of sound in seconds. It was not easy, but I have tagged him before. Granted, that's more of a reflex and predicting than actual speed, but still."

"...Wow, okay. That is something." Nami had to admit, tagging someone he considers a rival that cloud blow sound in seconds was nothing to scoff at.

"Anyways, I'm curious about your fighting-style, is it all self-taught?"

"Had to. I…had practically made the village believe I betrayed them for joining Arlong."

"Oh, I'm sorry-"

"A load of good it did; Nojiko snitched me out without trying." Nami snorted. "But I guess it's even since they lied about it, and both sides had good reasons…"

"Would you like an orange parfait?"

"I would love some." Nami nodded…before almost gasping when Mario pulled the treat from his overall. Looking freshly made. "..How do you do this?"

"A hero is always ready to help, especially their friends," Mario said with a grin, his smile flashing too bright.

"Agh! Usopp is right! Stop being so awesome for once!" She screamed as she covered her face while taking the parfait.

(Sanji)

"Here you go, a Meatball Spaghetti dish with mushrooms and extra sauce." Sanji said as he handed the dish to Mario.

"Wooooo~" Eagerness was plastered in Mario's glowing eyes. "It looks fantastico!" He said as he put a handkerchief around his neck and grabbed the utensils. "Thank you, Sanji!"

"Thank you." Sanji grinned as he watched the other worlder eat his dish with pleasure. "Heh, look at that. Never in my life would I have thought I would be serving food to someone from another world." He can shove it to his old man when he meets him.

"Oh yeah, you said you were from-a famous restaurant in the East Blue, right?" Mario said as he cut the meatballs.

"Yep. The Sea-Going Restaurant Baratie." Sanji said he turned to wash the dishes. "Is practically where I hone my skills as a cook, and where rowdy, good-for-nothing, loud as Hell cooks like me can work and be accepted despite our faults."

"Hmmm, sounds like a place where you all care for each other well." Mario said.

"Hmm…a bit…Say, Mario." The plumber hummed. "Out of curiosity…how's your relationship with your brother?" Sanji asks.

"My bro?" Mario blinked at the question momentarily, "Well, he's the best brother I could-a have wanted. While Pa was against this idea of-a becoming a plumber, Luigi had always supported me. He has been-a there more times than I could have-a wanted. I honestly would be lost if I didn't have him."

"Hmm, sounds like someone that is willing to follow you to Hell."

"That he is. And I would do the same for him." Mario replied without hesitation, and seriously. "I would do anything for my brother."

"Why the sudden question? Do you have a brother, Sanji?" Mario asked.

Sanji stops cleaning, his face cringing at the memory he would love to forget. "...I…don't wish to speak about it."

"Ah, I see. My apologies." Mario apologizes, seeing that the subject is something his blonde-haired and well-suited friend wasn't ready to speak of. "Well, how about your teacher? Those skills and vows you have must have come from a great one."

Sanji grinned, "Heh, that he is. That old fart was a pain in the ass and too much for me, but I'm grateful for what he did. More than I could say." And so, he began talking about Zeff.

The man he admires, and calls (but he won't admit it) Father.

(Usopp)

"And I, having used my masterful hunting skills, managed to kill the giant three headed Cerberus with nothing but a pencil and a rock!" Usopp dramatically finishes telling one of his 'Grand' stories.

All while Mario stares blankly before writing down 'Massive liar'.

"Hey! I saw that!" Usopp yelled at him.

"I'm sorry, Usopp. But that's impossible for me to believe." Mario said. "Hunting skills? I could accept that, but the three headed dog of Hell? The one that legends spoke of? Who is bound to the gates of Hell? Why was he in the mortal world? And how did nobody notice it? Also, kill it with a pencil? Not only does it sound wrong, you would have only been able to hurt an eye at most, and the other two heads? How do you manage to escape without getting bitten? You would have died given your current body state-."

"I have problems, okay?!" Usopp yelled, "I live most of my life on a peaceful island! My lies were the only thing that would make the village act lively!"

"Ah, there we go!" Mario snapped his finger. "So you were the resident troublemaker. To make things a bit more exciting against tranquility."

Usopp blinked at his words, having nailed his reasons. "...W-Wow. T-that's it. How did you-"

"Being a doctor has its perks." Mario said, pointing at Usopp's left hand, "Like I can tell your left hand is your dominant one, ready to move it to either take anything from your pouch, or even pull your slingshot."

The long-nose looked at his hand in shock, seeing it unconsciously twitching his thumb and index finger as it was close to his pouch. "Dude! How did- That's awesome and creepy!"

('Easily surprise.') Mario notes how Usopp's childishness is still in him. "Now, curious; why did you decide to be a pirate?"

"Oh! That's easy, you see, my father is a pirate! He is currently sailing with a big shot pirate crew…" And Usopp began to speak of his father and how he aspires to be like him.

And through all that, Mario never felt a lie.

(Zoro)

"Greatest Swordsman in the world?"

Zoro nodded at Mario's curiosity, "Yeah. His name is Dracule Mihawk," He touched his chest, where his scar was. "And he was the one who gave me this scar."

"Mama Mia! That scar was from him?!" Mario asked, shocked at that. "How are you even standing?"

"Heh! That's how much my will is." Zoro said, "Even after all my training, all the battles won, and reputation made, I couldn't even touch him. He beat me with a toy knife."

"That must have been insulting."

"It was." Zoro narrowed his eyes at his hand where he was lifting a weight. "But he was right; there's a bigger world out there for me to find. If I want to have a real shot at him again, I need to train even harder."

"Ha! Now you're sounding like Link!"

"Friend of yours?"

"Yep." Mario nodded, remembering his Hylian rival and friend. "He's considered one of the best sword masters in the world, and for good reasons! He has been reincarnated for ten generations!"

"Reincarnated?!" Zoro couldn't help looking in shock. "For ten generations?! And he is a Sword Master?!"

"Yep! There's a story for it; won't bore you much and just tell you that his soul is cursed by a powerful evil god to reincarnate and face his wrath. And given the generation part…" he shrugged, telling the obvious.

"Damn! Now that must be both a blessing and a curse." Zoro whistles, "He sounds like someone I would like to fight."

"Oh, definitely! Link loves a good brawl here and there, and others too." Mario said, "Who knows, maybe you will meet him one day!"

"Well, you did come here, so I won't say it wouldn't happen. Mind telling me a bit more of the others?" Zoro grinned.

"Oh, there's a lot; Marth, Roy, Link's younger and toon version…"

(Luffy)

"King of Pirates?" Mario asked, confused as he sat on the railing next to the Merry figurine, where Luffy was.

"Yep!" Luffy nodded, "He was so cool! Had amazing adventures and fought like a badass! He was the first pirate to have ever conquered the sea, and even discovered the last island of the Grand Line!"

"Hmm, interesting." Mario said, "And you wish to find it? Become the king of the world and conquer it?"

"Pssst! Naw!" Luffy denied, surprising Mario, "I don't want to be king of the world! I don't want to conquer anything! I just want to be free!"

"...And being the King of the Pirates is the one who is the most free in the world!" Mario said, having understood why Luffy is doing this now.

"Exactly! But not just that!" Luffy grabbed his straw hat and took it off to look at it. "You see, I promise to someone that I would return this hat to them when I become a great pirate! It's my greatest treasure, and I want to show them that I kept my promise!"

A sudden breeze surprised Luffy, who accidentally let go of his hat as it floated away. "AH! MY HAT!"

However, before he could stretch his arm away, Mario acted faster as he jumped onto the railing and jumped high, grabbing the hat before air jumping back to the railing.

Mario huffs in relief as he dusts the hat away before extending it back to Luffy. "Here you go."

*Woosh!*

Mario had to blink at the speed.

"Ah~ I almost lost it again~!" Thank you, Mario! You're the best!" Luffy cried in joy.

The plumber simply sweatdrops but smiles at him.

Entry 1: The Straw Hat Pirates

"Upon arriving in this world, saving a village from a tyrant, and recovering the first Power Star, I met up with a group of pirates. Unlike others, they are mainly Pirates who want to have adventures and fulfill their dreams and goals. Led by their captain, Monkey D. Luffy. The crew consists of Roronoa Zoro, Sanji, Usopp and Nami."

Entry 2: The Crew

"Currently, this small crew consists of eight members. Including me, Starlow and Cappy."

"The first one I met was Nami, the navigator of the crew and the sole female of the crew. She was a member of Arlong's crew to get enough money to buy her village. This decision was made after her mother, a former Marine, paid the extortion tax by giving her life for her daughters, her and Nojiko. After taking care of Arlong, she became relieved and thanked me for everything (Still trying to convince her I'm not a God.). She's a master thief, capable of stealing anything in a second, has a love of gold and money, and is good at fighting with a staff. Now free of the tyrant, she eagerly joins the Straw Hat to help her captain and friend navigate; she brags that she's the best navigator ever. She also does it to fulfill her dream of making the map of the entire world, as nobody has ever done it.

"Next, is Usopp. Marksman of the crew and third member to join, his words. A young village boy, orphan since little, he spent his childhood running around screaming lies about pirates coming. He was inspired by his father, who left to become a pirate himself, and wishes to become a Great Warrior of the Sea. While his lies are over exaggerating, his skills with the slingshot are unquestionable. He could give Luigi a run for his money."

"Then, comes Sanji, chef of the crew. Coming from a floating sea restaurant, Sanji spent his life repaying the man who saved him, yet had a problem with him over his attitude and mean comments. He finally left the restaurant to fulfill his dream of finding the All-Blue, an ocean where the four seas of this world are connected and had a lot of sea creatures, a paradise for sea chefs. He's also the third-best fighter of the crew, using his legs to fight, quite the best kicker I have seen. He's also a bit of a pervert, doing anything for Nami while having an indifferent attitude against the guys, me included. Still, his food is good!"

"Next, the swordsman of the crew and the Vice-Captain, Zoro. He's a badass. Unlike most of the swordsmen I have met, Zoro is the first one I met to be able to use Three Swords at the same time. A unique style I have never considered real before. He's on a quest to find the Greatest Swordsman in this world, Dracule Mihawk. He found and fought him, but his power level was far beyond. He survived by merciful grace as Mihawk saw potential in him. So, here he is, working hard to become stronger. Honestly, he and Link might get along."

"Finally, the captain himself, Luffy is…I will be honest, he is an idiot and a man-child. His intelligence is so bad, it's amazing he could count to five. Yet, he is also amazing. Having eaten a Devil Fruit that grants him rubber-like abilities, and with what everyone tells me, he has demonstrated quick thinking in battle and has shown to be a competent individual to his crew. There's also something about him that screams joy, which is confusing to me right now, but I can see he's not an evil person. Greedy, selfish, childish, naive he is; but his passion, is firm to his belief, and ready to fight for his friends."

"Honestly, I believe I have entered a wonderful crew."
