Previously:

"Anne," the professor said, before she left.

"Sir?" she asked.

"I hope you find your friend soon," he said with a genuine smile.

Anne smiled a bit at that. "Thank you, sir. I hope so, as well," anne said, then she left to find her room.

Now:

Anne was in her new room, relaxing on her bed. Finally, anne thought to herself i finally have a room in a place that will ACTUALLY care about me.

Suddenly, there was a knock on her door. "Can i come in?" a female voice came through.

"Sure," anne said, and the door opened, revealing a redhead.

"Who are you?" anne asked, the redhead, who proceeded to shut the door behind her. "I'm jean grey, who are you, new girl?" jean asked. "I'm anne," anne introduced herself.

After jean sat in a chair near anne's bed, the two started to talk

With remy

Remy stopped the motorcycle for a bit. He read the sign that he was about to pass. The sign said, welcome to new york. "Huh," remy began. "Never thought i'd come back to this state. I wonder if the orphanage is still around, and the matron that gave me my name," remy said out loud in thought.

With anne, a few minutes later

Anne was reading a book she found, when she heard the professor's voice in her head. Anne can you please come here? I've developed something that SHOULD help with your abilities, if only for a while, until it can be improved.

Alright, professor, anne replied, putting the book away. Where are you? She asked.

Ask storm where the main lab is, i'm there, the professor replied, before cutting off the connection. Anne left where she was (library) to find storm. She found storm in the lounge outside the main building. "Storm?" anne asked.

Storm looked up, and asked "yes, child?" when she saw that it was anne.

"Can you please show me where the main lab is? The professor said that he had something for me, to help with my abilities," anne asked storm.

"Of course, child. Follow me," storm said, getting up and going inside. Anne followed her. When they got to the entrance of the main lab, storm stopped. "Here it is, child," she said.

"Thanks, storm," anne said.

"You are quite welcome, child," storm said. With that said, storm left to go back to the lounge.

After storm left, anne went into the main lab.

Inside the main lab

"Professor? I'm here," anne called out.

"Ah, there you are, anne. I made something for you," the professor said, wheeling himself around the table. "It's over here," he said. Anne went over to the table the professor was at.

"Professor?" anne asked as she approached. "What did you make?"

The professor picked up a bracelet. "This, anne, is what i made for you," he said before he gave it to her. "That is a new item that was just created, called an 'inhibitor bracelet'. It works by temporarily blocking or neutralizing your mutant ability. However, i'm uncertain as to how long it will last, before it has to charge," the professor explained.

"Perhaps we could experiment, in order to find out?" anne proposed. "Interesting idea, anne. What did you have in mind?" the professor asked. "I simply hold onto an exposed shoulder, until you tell me that you start to feel weaker," anne suggested.

"Interesting, and perhaps, the best way to test it, since your abilities literally drain others," the professor agreed with her idea, before exposing a bit of skin on one of his shoulders, which anne grabs.

Suddenly, anne remembers something. "Oh, professor?" anne asked. "Yes, anne?" the professor replied. "Does the bracelet have a recharge station? I'm asking, because you said that the bracelet needs to recharge, earlier," anne asked.

"Oh, yes, thank you for reminding me, anne," the professor said, before picking up a metallic pad with a plug. "Here it is, anne. When the bracelets charge is empty, simply take it off, and put it on the pad, while the pad is plugged in," the professor explained before giving anne the pad.

"Thanks professor. Let's go," anne said. Anne and the professor leave the lab.

Three hours later, in the office of professor x

The professor was grading some paperwork, when he started to feel weak. "Anne, take your hand off, now," the professor said. After anne took her hand off, the professor started to think. "Hmm, it looks like the charge on the bracelet only lasts three hours. Not long enough for a typical school day," he said.

"'A typical school day'?" anne asked. "Why a typical school day?"

"Well, you DO need to go to school, anne," the professor said.

"Yes, sir," anne groaned, head hanging in despair.

With remy

Remy was at a fast food place (use your imagination for which one) when he said, "after i finish having lunch, i'm gonna go see if the orphanage is still there." about 20 minutes later, he finished his lunch, cleaned up his mess, go on his motorcycle and left for the orphanage that his memory starts at.

With anne

Anne was ditting in a chair, book in hand, but she was unable to focus on the book. "I'm bored. I'm gonna go out for a walk," anne said, as she stood up from the chair she was in, and placed the book back on its shelf.

Storm noticed that anne stood up and was putting her book back. "Where are you going, child?" storm asked.

Anne turned to her. "I'm going out for a walk, storm. I'm bored and need a change of scenery," anne said.

"Alright, child. Just be careful," storm said.

"Alright, storm," anne said before she left the manor. About 20 minutes of walking, and being bored out of her skull despite being on her walk, anne hears a motorcycle getting closer. She turned to the source, and saw that it was the same guy from the pub where she met storm. She saw that he stopped, looked around, and continued driving, like he was looking for something. "What is he looking for?" anne asked herself. She decided to try to keep up with him as best as she could, but she eventually lost him. "Damnit," anne cursed. "Well, since i couldn't follow him, just gotta find his motorcycle, then i'll find him," anne said before she proceeded to try to find the motorcycle in question.

After about a half hour of looking, and being INCREDIBLY exhausted at the end of it, she saw that it was parked outside the orphanage where remy and her grew up, before they were adopted. "Why is that guy here?" anne asked herself. She decided to investigate.

With remy, over a half hour ago

"Come on, where is it?" remy asked himself before he stopped and looked around. When he saw that he hadn't found it, he drove on. After driving for a few minutes, he found it. So, he parked in front of the front door. However, his adoptive mother didn't raise him to be rude, so he parked his motorcycle with enough room for people to get in and out of the front door. He put down the kickstand, turned off his motorcycle, and walked in. after a few minutes of looking, he found the matrons' office. He knocked on the door.

"Come in," a somewhat elderly voice called out from within the office.

Remy entered the office. After he entered the office, he saw that the matron that gave him his name was still here. Remy began to cry a bit in joy. "You're still here?" he asked in a trembling voice. The matron looked up from what she was doing (paperwork. The evil!) and saw that it was a 14 year old young man.

"Who are you?" she asked in a kind voice.

Remy grew a bit sad at her question, but he understood that she hadn't seen him since he was five. "It's me: remy," he said.

When the matron got a closer look at him, she gasped in surprise. "Remy?" she asked as she got up, walked around her desk, and gave him a hug, which remy returned. "How have you been, remy? How's your mother?" she asked.

Remy pulled away from her, tears in his eyes (not in joy, this time, but in sadness) as he answered her. Me ma was the best mother i remember having."

Elsewhere, lily felt her heart break, but she wasn't sure what caused it.

"I lived with me ma for nearly a decade," he said before he grew somber. "Before she was murdered about halfa' year ago," he said.

"Oh, my," the matron said, a hand covering her mouth.

"After i buried me ma in the backyard, headstone an' all, i grabbed ma's cookbook, locked the house, and ran," remy said, his tears coming out, now. "While i have nothing but good memories of there, the pain was just too much," remy explained, crying.

The matron hugged him, again. Tightly, this time.

Anne was outside the matron's office at this point

After remy finished crying, she pulled away, lifted his chin, and asked: "i must know, remy, how did you survive on the streets?"

"Since i was so good with cards, ever since i was a kid, i learned poker, and used the cash i won to feed myself," remy explained.

Just then, they heard a knock on the door. "Come in," the matron called.
