The grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was a chaotic whirlwind of spells, curses, and screams.

Voldemort's forces clashed with those who had stayed behind to defend Hogwarts; the teachers, order members, and even students dueling it out in a final stand against the encroaching darkness, and amongst them Hermione Granger fought with a fierce determination, her wand flashing and weaving intricate patterns in the air as she battled against Death Eaters and Dark Wizards alike.

Yet, and amidst the chaos, the bushy-haired brunette's attention was drawn to a different kind of battle unfolding nearby.

Harry Potter, the very Boy-Who-Lived, stood facing his greatest foe - Lord Voldemort himself.

The air crackled with magic as spells flew between the pair, each strike carrying the weight of years of prophecy and destiny. But this battle was different; it was the culmination of everything they had fought for, the final confrontation between good and evil - the Light and the Dark.

Hermione's heart clenched as she watched Harry face off against Voldemort, the young wizard's face set in determination despite the pain etched into every line of his features. He was wounded, she could see that even from where she stood; the blood staining his clothes and his movements growing weaker with each passing moment. But still Harry fought on, refusing to back down even in the face of certain death.

And Voldemort, his red eyes gleamed with malice; seemingly equally determined to end Harry's life once and for all. The Dark Wizard's spells were deadly, his powers unmatched, and Hermione knew that her brother in all but blood stood little chance against such an overwhelming force.

She wanted to rush to his side, to help him - protect him as she had so many times before. But she was rooted to the spot, unable to tear her eyes away from the unfolding tragedy before her.

Then, in a flash of red and green, everything changed.
