A Steampunk Blumaroo was making her way to the mailbox of her employer, her tail dragging along the ground over the cobblestone pathway through the yard. The mailbox was stuffed to the brim with envelopes; mostly spam mail.
When you've been around for thousands of years, you tend to accidentally sign up for a lot of suspicious subscriptions…
The Blumaroo removed all of the envelopes from the mailbox before walking over to the trash can by the road, sifting through them and disposing of all of the junk… until a purple scroll caught her eye. She unraveled the scroll for herself, reading it with a dull expression on her face.
An urgent message to all of the Kings, Queens, Emperors, Lords, Governors, Mayors, Monarchs, Protectors and Defenders of Neopia…
Her expression grew increasingly concerned as she read the summons, before her head whipped in the direction of the house she had just come from. Clutching the scroll tightly in her hands, the Blumaroo dropped the rest of the mail on the ground before rushing back inside.
"Wallyss! Wallyss!" She called out loudly as she burst through the door, before swiftly running down the hall.
Inside of a cluttered, messy study, an Elderly Aisha was sitting cross-legged on the floor, deep in focus…
…until a Blumaroo swung his door open so hard it slammed into a bookshelf, knocking several magical tomes over.
Wallyss coughed and sputtered, nearly choking on his own dentures before he floated to his feet and straightened himself up. "Lenoreria? What's gotten into you? You look like you've seen a—"
"You have a summons." Lenoreria breathlessly explained. "From King Altador and Queen Fyora."
"I'm not here!" Wallyss said the words so quickly, the Blumaroo barely understood him. The Aisha immediately hit the floor and curled up into a ball, pulling his hat down over his eyes and his cape around his body, as if that'd hide him.
Lenoreria watched in silence as the Aisha trembled on the floor, a bland look on her face. The Blumaroo gently laid the rolled up scroll next to Wallyss' head, silently watching as the Aisha hesitantly unrolled it and read the contents. Lenoreria nervously rubbed her arm as Wallyss' ears pinned back, his ear stalks lowering as his eyes narrowed at the summons.
"I could tend to the house for you, if you decide to go…" Lenoreria quietly spoke up, only for Wallyss to hold a hand up to make her pause.
"Nope. I want you with me, Len~" Wallyss chirped, his tail wiggling as he smiled brightly at the Blumaroo. "I'm not going to Altador by myself. No way."
Nodding gently, Lenoreria walked over to Wallyss to help him up and off of the floor. The Aisha paused in order to crack his back, before whistling loudly. A magical umbrella flew in through the open door, straight to Wallyss' outstretched hand, before snapping itself shut.
The Elderly Aisha then offered his hand to the Blumaroo, giving her a cheeky smile. "Shall we be off~?"
-
Wallyss and Lenoreria were walking together with their arms linked on the way in to Altador, the Steampunk Blumaroo wearing a black veil over her face and the Elderly Aisha twirling his open umbrella above his head as a white cape trailed behind him.
"Are you sure about this, Wallyss?" Lenoreria whispered to the Aisha.
"As sure as I'll ever be." Wallyss stuck his tongue out at the Blumaroo, before blinking in surprise. The change in his expression made Lenoreria turn her head in order to see what he was looking at.
A zombie Ruki was making his way towards the Hall of Heroes, fully decked out in armor, with two strange swords clinking in their scabbards. He was absentmindedly chewing some gum as he walked, a Light Faerie Bubble hanging around his neck by a yellow chain.
Wallyss and Lenoreria fell in step alongside him, with Lenoreria offering him a brief greeting of "Hello, Shean."
The Ruki bit back a shriek of surprise. "Lenoreria!? Why are you here!?"
"I suppose for the same reason you are." Lenoreria replied, letting go of Wallyss briefly in order to put her full attention on the Ruki walking alongside her. "Don't tell your sister, okay?"
"Oh, yeah, I'm sure Wee's already stressing about me coming…" Shean said. "Don't need her worrying about her other partner, too. Wait, isn't there a warrant out for your arrest here?"
"No." Lenoreria quickly stated. "Just don't tell anyone my actual name and we shouldn't have any problems."
Shean merely looked away from the Blumaroo and towards the building standing before the trio.
The Hall of Heroes…
Lenoreria felt Wallyss grab her arm, clutching her somewhat tightly as he grumbled, "Let's just get this over with…"
As the group headed into the Hall of Heroes, they wouldn't notice that someone was watching them head in…
…nor did they see the figure walk away, leaving behind a trail of footprints scorched into the ground.
