It took a while for King to actually find and talk to Purple about whatever the hell he saw in there.

Because it obviously shook him to the core, seeing as he ran off.

After a few hours, King found him hiding on a corner of the roof.

By this point, he'd been extremely worried about the kid, so seeing Purple safe eased his mind a little bit.

"Purple...?"

Purple didn't budge, and King wondered if he had fallen asleep in those hours King spent searching for him.

"Are you..." God, how was this so difficult?! He's done this before!

"Are you okay?"

He really wasn't expecting him to talk. He just wanted some sort of visual cue that Purple was at least partially awake.

"...I guess..."

Well, it was something.

King inched a little closer. "What happened there? You seemed a little shaky about it, and we were worried."

Purple finally glanced up at him. His eyes were still watery with tears. "They're gonna kill me."

"What? They can't be planning something like that!...Can they?"

"They are! I heard it! They're planning to kill me and then erase my memories before bringing me back so that I'm their little toy! They're gonna use me as a toy for their own nefarious world domination plot and I'm too weak to stop them because I can't control my own powers!"

"They're not gonna hurt you, kid."

"How do you know?!" Purple snapped.

"I just do, alright?! I know they won't hurt you because I'm not going to let them!" King snapped back, much angrier than he intended it to be.

Purple fell silent, his eyes watering up again.

"Purple, I...I'm sorry, kid. I didn't mean to yell at you. I'm just...I'm just as confused about this whole situation as you are, and this whole thing with Night Shade, and suddenly Navy's coming back...it's just a lot to take in. I'm sorry."

"It's...it's fine."

"It doesn't sound fine. I'm really worried about you. You've been so much more on edge since this whole thing started and it's like...you're unsure if it'll actually work."

"You know what Night Shade said! I could die if this gets too much out of control! Orchids my mom! Everything about this situation is putting me to the test and I hate it!"

King didn't hesitate to grab Purple's arm. "Purple, breathe."

"Maybe Orchid was right. Maybe I am just a worthless crybaby brat who deserved what happened to him...maybe I do bring shame to people..."

"Orchid was wrong and you know it. You know you're more than that."

"How do you know?"

"Because you and I both know that I know you better than they do. You're one of the strongest people I've ever met, and I know for a fact you can defeat them."

A crash cut of Purple's next sentence, and both of them jumped.

"The hell was that?!"

An energy beam suddenly blasted its way towards the roof.

"Get down!" Purple pushed King down and countered the energy blast with his own.

King was amazed.

Nice work, Chosen.

Purple grabbed King's hand and partially dragged him to the door. "Come on! We gotta get outta here!"

King got to his feet and ran inside after Purple.

Second joined them at the bottom of the staircase. "What the hell is happening?!"

"Code red. Something's attacking us. I don't care if Alan's asleep or not, but we need him!" King explained quickly.

"Okay, I'll talk to him through his phone. We might need to launch the plan now."

"Sending Purple solo while all of this is happening?!" King snapped.

"King, that's the plan. You know this."

"What if he has another vision out there?!"

"We'll be fine. Relax."

"I'm worried about him! He. Could. Die!" King restated.

"Have some faith, jeez. He has powers! He'll be fine."

"How do you know?!"

"I just do! Now let's get Purple out of here before this gets worse!"

A darker stick figure blocked their way. "Where do you think you're going?" They sneered.

"Who the hell are you?!" Second demanded.

"That's the Night Shade guy I was talking about!" Purple exclaimed.

"Shit."

"Yep, and you're coming with us." He glared at Purple.

"Not one chance, buddy." King snapped, putting an arm between them and Purple.

"Fine. We'll have to use force."

"You two, run." King ordered. "I got this guy."

Second grabbed Purple and ran out of the house, rounding the back corner to the storage folder. We've gotta get to Alan. He'll be able to keep them at bay long enough for you-" Second began to rethink his sentence. "Us to get to wherever they're base is."

Purple didn't question what Second meant by "us", and followed him.

"You two get back here!" Orchid yelled.

"IN YOUR DREAMS!" Purple snapped, jumping into the folder before she could attack him.

Orchid snarled. "Night Shade! Get them! I'll take care of King, just get Purple!" She snapped.

"Yes, Ma'am!" Night Shade flew off towards the folder, leaving King with Orchid.

"Can't protect your kid now, can you?"

"Go to hell," King snapped. "And stay away from Purple!"

"Why would I stay away from my son? What are you, CPS?"

"No, but I'm a better parent than you people would ever be, and you know it. If you think I'm going to let you people lay a hand on my kid, you're surely mistaken. Don't think I've forgotten what you people have done to him."

Orchid smirked. "And don't think we've forgotten what you've done to Purple."

"You both know damn well what you people have done was worse. So back off and stay away from my son." King growled. "I will not hesitate to murder all three of you in one sitting."

Orchid backed off a little. How had he figured out their plan so fast?

"I should've known that brat would snitch us out." It was obvious she was talking about Purple.

King tried not to attack her, knowing she had a major advantage when it came to attack speed and strength. She'd have him defeated in mere minutes if he was lucky.

The sound of the storage folder exploding caught their attention. Night Shade was violently thrown out of the folder and to the ground.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" Orchid screamed.

Purple and Second emerged from what remained of the folder, both surprised and excited.

King took this opportunity and ran out of the house and towards the folder. Dark followed suit, having gotten confirmation from Chosen to help.

"Is everyone okay?" Dark asked.

"Yeah, we're fine. I think Chosen's plan worked." Second answered.

"That's good to hear." Dark muttered.

"Come on, we've gotta get you guys outta here before Orchid and the others try and hurt Purple." King said.

"Overprotective much?" Dark asked playfully.

"Shut up."

Orchid blasted another energy beam at the group, this time almost hitting Purple before he countered it.

"Nice try, kid! But you're not getting any farther!" Orchid said.

"Get out of here! I'll hold her off! Just go!" Purple ordered.

King hesitated for a moment, but followed Dark and Second.

Purple stared Orchid down darkly.

"Alright, time for you to buzz off."

"Now, you wouldn't say this to your dear mother now, would you?"

"You're not my mother! My mother isn't actively trying to kill me!" Purple snapped. "My mother is protecting me, caring for me, the complete opposite of what you're doing."

"Well, if you were strong enough, I'd be doing, wouldn't I?"

"You're one of the strongest people I've ever met!"

King's voice echoed in his mind, blocking out Orchid's bogus statement.

"Liar." He snapped at her.

"You wouldn't dare call me a liar." His father's voice was buried deep under her snarl of anger.

Purple felt fireballs appear in his hands. "And you wouldn't dare use me as your little pet and toy again."

Orchid gasped. "How would you know that?!"

"The same way I know you're trying to kill me and erase my memories and use me as a little pet for your stupid world domination scheme! As if that'll ever work! The stupid visions that came as a side effect in the power package!"

"Well then, why don't we test your theory, if you're so sure our plan won't work." Orchid said.

"I'm sure it won't work, because you're all so incompetent and don't know how to wrangle your own child. This is why you people think I'm never good enough! Because you two weren't good enough to be parents and take care of me, so that was taken out on me! So what makes you think you're competent enough to go with this plan?!" Purple snapped agrilly.

Orchid snarled. "You little shit!" She blasted fireballs at the small child.

"PURPLE LOOK OUT!" Second screamed. Purple jumped backwards, attempting to escape the attack.

"Purple!" King ran out of their hiding spot and grabbed Purple, dragging him out of the crossfire.

"Let's get out of here!" Dark pointed to the WiFi widget. Second grabbed Purple from King.

"No! You can't go out there! They'll chase after you!"

"Not unless you people keep them busy long enough for us to get a head start." Purple gasped.

"Just give us enough time for us to get Purple medical attention and escape to the ocean."

"But-"

"King. We'll be fine. Purple will be fine. He has his powers and us to protect him." Dark reassured.

Reluctantly, King let go of Purple's hand. As much as he hated to admit it, but he had to let Purple do this.

"Be careful."

Dark fire-balled the center of the desktop, causing a giant red, orange, and yellow ball to form, and pushed the two into the widget before jumping in himself.

It would have to work for now.

"Everyone alright?" Dark asked as they landed in the woods.

"Give or take, but yes." Purple groaned, steadying himself on a tree.

"That wasn't necessary." Second snapped at Dark.

"What? The fireball, or throwing you guys into the woods to escape Orchid?" He asked innocently.

"Both."

"Well, I needed a way for us to not get spotted, and it worked!"

"Obviously, it did. But now where is she going?!" Second asked incredulously.

As Dark and Second bickered, Purple tuned them out and followed Orchid through the trees. As he reached a cliff ledge, he stared as she flew across the sea.

"So that's where the base is," He said to himself. "So all we need to do is find a water transporter and follow her out there and confront and defeat her before she sucks the life out of King and Chosen and-"

"Purple! There you are! We noticed you were missing! Is…everything alright?"

Purple pointed out to the ocean. "She's going that way. Which means we have to follow suit if we're going to stop her."

Dark spoke up first. "Then we're going to need a boat."

"How are we going to find a boat! Hell, how are we going to steal one if we can't find one?!"

"Stick City's been evacuated, meaning we're not getting in trouble if we bring it back." Dark said.

"Yeah, but if we bring it back, then we're still getting in trouble for stealing it in the first place! And anyways, they're probably useless anyway!"

"Why?!"

"Nobody makes wooden boats anymore! Meaning they're going to be run on gas. And since everything's all grey and dull and dead, they probably won't work! So essentially, we're stuck here unless Purple can fly!"

"If I can fly, and Chosen can fly, and YOU can fly, then Purple can too!"

"Okay, first of all, my powers are useless right now. Second of all, Purple can fly with an elytra, and we don't know the extent of his powers completely!"

"True. But Purple can still fly though, right?"

The stick in question stared at him. "Then why not make a boat?"

Dark stared at him. "We what?"

"We make a boat! If the boats in Stick City don't work, then why don't we find materials and make a boat of our own? More specifically, we make a sailboat?"

Dark stared at him. "Well then, Casanova. What are we going to need?"

"Dark-"

"I'm serious! The boats there probably don't work, and if they do, they won't last, depending on how far out Orchid's base is, so making a boat is our best option because it will last.

"Until Orchid blows it to smithereens."

"Eh, we'll fix it. But seriously, what are we going to need?"

"Wood and cloth mostly, since we're making a sailboat."

"Cloth's gonna be harder, but we'll make it work. What are the chances we'll find cloth in the city?"

"Since it's abandoned, high." Second muttered.

Purple smiled. "And I know a good woodshop downtown that'll have everything we need. We should be able to find everything necessary for a sailboat in town if we're lucky."

"And then we'll set sail?"

"And then we'll set sail and go after Orchid."

"Right!"
