Night fell. Thankfully.

The boat calmly drifted across the water, paralleling Purple's thoughts.

They drifted across their own ocean of thinking.

Had Orchid used her powers after I was born?

Had she tried using them on Navy at one point before he left?

Why had it taken me so long to be able to use them?

How did Orchid even unlock her abilities after her death?

Were they a side effect of her resurrection after Navy...

Purple had almost forgotten that confrontation a couple weeks back. That fight in the temple.

He almost forgot about it and he was happy with that.

"I was the reason for Orchid's death, not a virus."

Purple almost wanted to bury that quote in the deepest part of his brain for the rest of his life.

"You."

Navy smirks at his son. "Hello, Purple. I see you got your mother's little gift."

"Gift?! You mean...the magic from the legend?"

"Yep. And the curse is just one side effect we experienced."

Purple's heard dropped

"You...you bastard!" Second screams. "Do you know how dangerous that curse is?!"

Navy chuckles. "Of course I know. After all, I'm the one from the side of the family who made the curse."

Purple's blood boils. "You mean...it was YOU the whole time?!"

"Yep."

"But...how?"

"Did you really believe your mother died from an illness the first time? Pffft. Nope. She died from the creation her own husband put inside her child."

If they even tried to resurrect Navy, Purple didn't even know how he'd react to that.

Knowing his dad was probably somewhere in that stupid base just made his heart sink.

A shiver crossed his body at the thought.

He almost didn't want to tell Dark that his best friend of years was dying, or even dead by now.

What if that was King?

No. Purple would never be able to handle that. He's already lost both his biological parents, and almost every other biological family member in his life.

He'd never handle King dying.

Never in his life.

And he thought losing his mom would destroy him.

"MOM! MOM, DON'T LEAVE ME! I STILL NEED YOU!"

Purple's words came out as nonsense given how hard he was sobbing as his mom was wheeled in the Emergency Room.

"I love you, Purple..."

Those were the last words he'd ever hear her say to him.

Because he never saw his mom alive again.

"MOM!"

That was a thought embedded into his mind as a small child, and it had stuck with him for years.

The thought of losing anyone else he cared about was a thought that he had decided was too much to handle, and he'd do anything he could to keep the closest people to him safe.

King was no exception, and by far the most important.

Purple had spent this entire time trying his hardest to make sure King stayed safe.

And if it killed him, he'd take that risk.

King had protected him the best that he could.

It was his turn to return the favor.

Another vision woke him up later that day.

He could feel Orchids own abilities getting stronger. The curse was getting closer.

Though he didn't know how far from the base they where, he could feel his mother's powers getting closer.

"We're close. I can feel it."

Second stared at him. "You feel it?"

"Orchid's powers. They're close. We're close to the base, or at least to Orchid."

"We even going in the right direction?" Dark asked sarcastically, staring at the water.

"You question my sense of my direction, Dark Lord?" Second snapped back. Purple smiled.

"Yes, we're going the right way."

"Good."

Purple still felt unsure about telling Dark about Chosen. After all, telling him his longtime best friend was dead to a curse they had literally no clue on how to stop seemed like a fate worse than death. Especially for Dark.

Dark had already gone through so much. Dying more times than he can count so far as he knew.

Stinging him with the death of someone he loved so much seemed like hell to him.

Purple's next few vision hit like the plague. Everyone's been captured, Chosen is dead, and everyone is close to dying as well.

Yet, they had a plan that could get them at least to the city.

As long as the command blocks did their thing.

"Everyone alright?" Second asked worridly.

Purple spared a glance at Dark. "...No."

"What?! Are they..." Dark demanded answers.

"Dark, don't overwhelm him!"

"No! I need to know if Chosen's alright!"

The thought finally stopped eating away at him. "Chosen's dead, and the others will soon follow."

The boat fell into an eerie silence.

"...What...?"

"The Grey death. Night Shade." Second muttered. "The others...there's gotta be a way to get this boat to move faster!"

"Unless you want to get oares and row it like a canoe, we can't move any faster." Purple snapped.

"You have powers! Do something!"

"You think I have water manipulation?!"

"Right. There needs to be a faster way."

Dark stared up at them, his blank eyes reflecting rage and determination. "What if we make a home-made booster."

Second stared at him, puzzled. "...A what?!"

"A home-made booster. We could build something and use Dark's fireball abilities or fireworks as a booster!"

"Like your elytra?" Dark asked, hoping Purple was confirming his theory.

"Exactly like my elytra." Purple confirmed

"You have fireworks on you?"

"Only a few. But enough to get us farther than we were this morning."

"And we'll give them strength potions," Dark suggested. "That might make 'em go faster, right?"

"Probably."

Those next few hours leading to the next day fly by in a blur, made faster by visions of the base.

They seem to be getting closer and closer with each passing moment.

It makes Purple's entire body shiver. Soon, the entire world's survival will rest on them.

The entire world will rest on him.

As hard as it sounds, Purple thinks they can do it.

He knows they can do it.

They've got this.

The vision that gets to Purple the most is the vision of his father inside of a submersion tank, floating in the in-between of dead and alive.

A part of him wants to feel bad for him, but another part wants to say he deserves it.

God knows what this will bring.

Navy could bring about what might be the end of the world. And unless they do something about it, there might not be a way to save it.

Purple stares out into the open sea, knowing that somewhere out there, there's a way to stop these guys from ending the world.

And he's going to be the one who unlocks it.

No matter what it takes.

"Purple! Purple! Purple, wake up!"

Purple is awoken from his dreamless sleep by Second, who has a look of excitement in his eyes.

"What...what is it?"

Second points at the shadow of a large building.

A large building on an island that's been haunting his visions for the past few days.

"We're here."
