According to Yellow's research, and Purple's own experiences, the void was vast, empty, quiet, and black.
Somehow, this didn't seem like Yellow's research had been proven right in any way, shape or form.
Everything was white, a complete change from every other time he'd been in the void.
This was a surprise. Had his mindset changed from the last battle he'd had with Navy and the others?
It couldn't have changed that much! After all, the void was mainly just him and his own problems, and they couldn't have just vanished into thin air.
The battle and the attack on the desktop was barely a month apart! Sure, he'd been doing better within that time frame, but he was still being plagued by visions every so often, and they were really getting on his nerves.
And messing up his sleep schedule, if he were being brutally honest.
"Alright, Navy. Why don't we end this, once and for all?" He shouted into nothing. "I've already figured out your genius secret weapon, so there's only so much you can do!"
Suddenly, the area went black, leaving the pink petals he knew so well.
"Now that's the void I remember." He muttered to himself.
Now, the only thing missing was Navy.
Navy and his stupid lies that couldn't get him much farther. As long as they knew Night Shade was their hidden secret weapon, they couldn't get this done and over with much farther.
"For all I know, the best thing to do would be to kill Night Shade first," He said to himself, thinking of a plan that would hopefully work out in the end. "Then kill Navy and Orchid and then all my problems will be over!"
"Nice thinking, but not great thinking at the same time." Navy's booming voice came. It came from all sides and it was so loud, he couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from!
"Shit." Purple tried focusing his powers back into main point, but they weren't functioning.
Had his powers gone completely out of whack following the amnesia bout?
Were they just completely out of focus? Were they gone entirely?
"Come on. Why won't you work?!" He muttered to himself, realizing how big of a loss he was at.
Without his powers, stopping this guy was going to be twice as difficult.
"Come on, please! I can't stop him unless you work! Now please, do something!"
His powers had to work! They just had to!
Without them, he wouldn't be able to stop Navy, or Orchid, or Night Shade!
He'd be stuck here forever, the world would be destroyed, and the others would die!
He couldn't risk that again.
"Come on, come on...I can't risk losing the others again."
Being so focused on trying to get his powers to work, Purple didn't realize Navy was shooting a fireball at him.
"PURPLE, LOOK OUT!"
Purple glanced up, barely dodging the attack the second he saw it.
"What the hell was that?" He asked himself.
The voice sound incredibly familiar, though...
Was that...?
"Dark and Second?"
"Surprisingly." Second deadpanned.
"Someone sounds annoyed." Purple quipped.
"Shut up. Your stupid inner mindset's been chasing us around like a dog."
"My what."
"Inner mindset. It's like...I don't know what it is, but it's chasing us around and it's being really fucking weird."
"Yep. Sounds like insecurities and trauma rearing it's ugly head."
Purple sounded way more used to what his "inner mindset" was made up of. Trauma, insecurities, his entire childhood, his fears, everything he's been trying to keep bottled up and ignore were all coming for him again.
"That's just wonderful." Purple muttered sarcastically.
As if this just couldn't get any worse.
Navy smirked. "Well, shall we continue our battle?"
"In your dreams!" Purple snapped.
"Someone's feisty." Navy grumbled, clearly annoyed.
"Well, I'm not the one who turned his flesh and blood into a toy puppet!" Purple snapped.
A surge of power shot to his hands.
Damn near perfect timing.
Dark stepped forward. "Turn him back." He snapped.
"Why?"
"You know why. There is a damn near army out there intent on kicking your ass." Second added.
"We also know your secret weapon. You should've known one of us would figure out that Night Shade was your secret weapon sooner or later.
That caught the others off guard.
"What?!"
"How else do you think these guys refuse to stay dead, no matter how many times we kill them off?" Purple asked incredulously.
Dark and Second spared a glance at each other. Purple did make a point.
This battle probably wouldn't even be happening if Night Shade hadn't arrived.
Dark attacked with another fireball. "So, if we just kill Night Shade, we'll be home free?"
"As long as the other two are taken care of directly afterwards," Purple clarified. "Then we'll have less problems to take care of."
Navy smirked, taking advantage of Purple's distraction. "Have fun trying to stop him, then." He lunged for Purple.
"GET DOWN!" Second screamed.
Purple dodged just in time, tossing an energy ball at the offender.
The two attacked each other for a brief moment before Second tackled Navy down.
"How do we get out of here?!" Dark shouted, trying to get someone's attention.
"Well, we're not dead, so it's gotta be simple!" Second shouted back.
"Oh, sure, it's that simple because we aren't dead. What a wonderful observation that is currently USELESS!" Dark shouted back, pulling Purple towards him with his free hand.
"Well, we've gotta stop Navy right now, so that piece of information could be useful later!"
Purple got an idea. "The Void always has some type of homage to a memory. We just have to find it!"
"For all we know, Navy is that memory!" Dark snapped.
Purple glanced around, trying to find anything that would help distinguish a way out.
"Come on, come on, there's gotta be something in here that'll get us out of here…"
There had to be something in here from the most recent events that could lead them to an escape.
A memory, an object, anything! Just something that's gonna get us out of here!
Hell, he would take one of those dumb visions over anything!
Something suddenly clicked inside him.
The visions!
He was trying to think of something, anything, when Second suddenly caught something.
"Hey, guys? What's that?"
He pointed upwards to a blinding light.
A blinding light.
"Is this even a void?"
"Or another dimension?"
"It's another dimension he trapped us in. We're not in Purple's head," Dark said. "We're in another dimension Navy has created."
"And he just gave us a way out," Purple added. "We just need to get up there."
"How?" Second asked.
"Dark," Purple turned to look at him. "Get Second up there and get me some rope. I'll take care of Navy."
Dark hesitated on his next sentence, but obliged. "You can handle him?"
"Did you not see me kick Orchid's ass in a badass outfit?" Purple smirked.
"Finally, you admit it!" Dark sighed, grabbing Second and flying upwards.
Purple hardly flinched as Dark and Second crashed through the glass. "You've gotta invest in some stronger glass, father."
"Oh really?"
"Yep. In case you didn't notice, the other two got through that door with no difficulty."
Navy smirked, calling up above, "Agent Fern!"
Purple blinked for a second. Agent Fern? Why did that name sound so familiar?
"Who?"
"Ask your adoptive father's best friend's sister."
King's best friend?
Did he…
Oh.
"Fern? An agent for you?!"
"Yep! I was wondering if the others would ever figure it out, knowing he's leading them into a trap."
Something grabbed around Purple's waist. The rope.
"Nice try. But we could just let them know now."
Navy suddenly realized Dark and Second had, in fact, pulled Purple up.
"Welcome home, Navy Rose."
Purple shot an energy ball down at the older male just as Dark and Second pulled him up.
