Preparing for Exams

After Aqua had gotten dressed in her normal clothes and rested for a bit she received some messages on her phone. One was from Kermit's asking her if she could come in but she decided not to. The other was from Alexis.

"I'm a little bummed about tests coming up…" Alexis messaged and added "I know I can be quite studious but I sometimes struggle with a lot during the subjects outside of English. Plus with everything that happened I haven't been studying much…"

"I can understand that" Aqua wrote nodding.

"Oh! Maybe we can make some progress if we keep an eye on each other!" Alexis said getting an idea. "Do you want to study together?"

Aqua thinks and smiles and rights "Sure, let's do it."

"You're a big help!" Alexis messages "Then let's meet at the diner in remnant."

Aqua nods and heads for the diner. She meets Alexis and after getting some drinks they settle in the booth with there work books and begin to study.

"That long sentence is tough…. Try to think about what the underlined section means." Alexis told Aqua when doing some English studying and smiles "Are you starting to understand how to dissect these problems?"

"I think so." Aqua said thinking.

"I'm so jealous you get a one-on-one study session with Lady Alexis, Aqua." Gatomon said from within the bag. "It seems like you're making more progress than usual too."

Aqua nods in agreement as she felt her knowledge improve and keeps on studying.

"I'm actually not so good at this because of my time abroad." Alexis admits that while smart she still struggled with some subjects. "Anyway, time to study! Here we go!"

"Indeed" Aqua said happily.

"By the way, do you think you could help me with math next?" Alexis asked smiling.

"Sure" Aqua said smiling.

They work for a while until it was time for them to leave the diner and Alexis said "I'm so tired…Let's stop here."

Aqua nods and heads back to the LeBlanc to sleep for tomorrow.

The next day, Aqua was waiting for the train on the Beacon line when she was approached by J.

"It looks like you're attending school seriously." J said smiling a bit. "You also seem pretty close with Miss Rhodes if you're both coming to school together. You just transferred here though…I guess you two really click."

"Well it makes sense, we are in the same class after all." Aqua said with an awkward smile and shrug.

"…I see. You seemed a lot closer than that yesterday morning." J said smiling revealing she saw them yesterday. "I heard she was a victim of Mr. LeBlanc, but was that all there was to it…?" She shrugh "Either way, closer inspection should everything up…Goodbye."

"Yeah, see you" Aqua said and boards the train.

Aqua soon arrived at class and sits on her seat as the lesson begins with Mr. Takanuva for history class.

"Exams start tomorrow. Are you all ready?" Takanuva said smiling "Now then, picking up from last time…The end of the Heian period marks the rise of the samurai, which I'm sure you've all been waiting for."

"As described in 'The Tale of the Heike,' it was a time when all that was great would fall from grace." Takanuva explained. "It wasn't unusual for the heroes of yesterday to be struck down as rebels of the present day. By the way, sympathizing with the loser or the weak is called 'magistrate's patronage.'"

"The term came from Minamoto no Yoshitsune's position…And it also became a way of referring to him as well." He continues and looks around the class "All right, Aqua."

"Yes sir?" Aqua said sitting up straight to focus and is showing an image of Minamoto no Yoshitsune.

"You know the time period Yoshitsune was active in, don't you?" Takanuva asked.

"The Heian period." Aqua said after thinking.

"That's right." Takanuva said impressed clapping. "He supported his brother, Yoritomo, during the Heian period. But despite his contributions in defeating the Taira, he was driven out by his brother and ultimately executed…However, in the centuries that followed, Yoshitsune because more popular as a tragic hero."

The rest of the class was again impressed with Aqua's answer and Aqua smiles feeling smarter from answering that question.

"Rather than siding with the one who has overwhelming power, people prefer the underdog opposing them." Takanuva explained. "It's sort of like rooting for a minor-league Kohli team instead of an all-star, major-league one."

"I can understand that." Gatomon said from in the desk slot. "It's like, if I don't root for them, then who will?"

"Agreed" Aqua said nodding

Soon it was after school and as Aqua leaves she overhears two students talking about a clean up event at Everfree Park, she will no doubt hearing more about it later. She buys some materials to craft infiltration tools thant goes to the underground mall in Remnant where she met up with Alexis.

"Hey Aqua, so you know I started training, so you should totally help me out if you have the time." Alexis said smiling.

"Sure, let's do it." Aqua said nodding

"All right, let's go." Alexis said smiling "Hm, the ways way to get to Everfree Park is by train, right?"

Aqua nods and follows her and looks at her rail map app and checks out Everfree Park, it was flourishing beauty and was the pride of Lumiose.

Soon Aqua and Alexis were in Everfree Park, Pixie was hanging around them as well and were both enjoying their time. As Aqua sits on a fence Alexis stretches and takes a deep breath.

"Man, big open places like this are great! I think my training's going to go super good today!" Alexis said happily. "So, remember how I said before that I want to strengthen my heart? Well, I cam up with a way to do it!"

"How's that?" Aqua asked curious

"Yeah, I want to know too." Pixie said intrigued.

"I think having a strong heart mean you don't let anything get under your skin." Alexis explained "So basically, I want you to say stuff to me, and I'll try not to get fazed by it!"

"I don't really get it…" Aqua admits.

"Yeah, I am lost too." Pixie said confused.

"We've already started! I won't let that hesitation shake me!" Alexis said firmly and smiles. Aqua sweatdrops and figures she should say something to Alexis. "Come on, hit me with your best shot!"

"Umm…you're stupid." Aqua said thinking.

"Really…. that's your best?" Pixie asked deadpanned.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah! And?" Alexis said unfazed.

"That was response was annoying" Aqua said still thinking.

"Little better" Pixie admits.

"Uh-huh, uh-huh. What else?" Alexis added.

"Can we stop yet?" Aqua asked sighing.

"Yeah, I agree with you there, this isn't working." Pixie said in agreement.

"You giving up? That means I win!" Alexis said happily but then gets confused "Wait…is this how the game is supposed to go?" Aqua sweatdrops "Well, never mind. On to round two!" She crotches down and covers her face "Bring it on!"

"This won't help your heart." Aqua told Alexis.

"Agreed, it won't" Pixie said sighing.

Alexis thinks and stands up sighing "Yeah, you know…I kind of feel like this won't make our Personas stronger."

"You're right" Aqua said nodding.

"Mh-hmm." Pixie lets out nodding.

"Huh, something's not right…" Alexis said thinking and then her phone beeps off a text and she gets it out "Oh, sorry. I just got an email from my agency." She checks the phone "The next shoot is…. really far. Wait, what's this at the end?"

"What is it?" Aqua asked her.

"It's a notice saying to pay extra attention to the time and place they tell you." Alexis explained. "Apparently some models haven't been showing up at all lately. Then when asked why they didn't come, the models all say they heard there was a change in schedule."

"It sounds like shoots have been real hectic with all the scrambling they've had to do for substitutes." Alexis added.

"Has that happened to you?" Aqua asked.

"Yeah, I am curious too if that has happened" Pixie said concerned.

"No, I haven't missed a single shoot so far even for the Duel Monsters related ones." Alexis said smiling. She then sighs "It probably really confuses the staff to see a sub showing up too. Hopefully it doesn't happen to me…Though actually, my first modelling gig was as a sub"

"That was back when I was still in Finland." Alexis explained "My parents didn't have enough models for their event."

"Wait…what?" Aqua asked

"Oh, haven't I told you?" Alexis asked "My parents are both fashion designers who put on some seriously extravagant shows. They jump country to country, so I only really seem them for half of the year, less so when I attended Dual Academy for a few years and also these days."

"The freedom sounds nice." Aqua admits smiling.

"Yeah it does" Pixie said happily.

"Yeah, I guess I can afford to be pretty relaxes these days." Alexis said sighing in relief "Plus it would probably be tough being a phantom thief with my parents around, don't you think? It was rough when I was little though…It was just me and our live-in caretaker. I barely had any friends with the moving around…Geez, that got dark fast…! Ahaha…."

"I guess so" Aqua said chuckling.

"Honestly, when I'm duelling or modelling…it almost feels like I'm connecting with my parents somehow." Alexis admits. "It's a nice hobby to have….but I don't think I'd want to make a living out of modelling though duelling is another story. After all, modelling is where Gaston first spotted me…and that's how our class started those rumors…"

Alexis smiles happily "Besides, the Phantom Thieves are more important to me right now. Nobody can be my substitute there…That's why I need to get stronger!"

Aqua smiles sensing a heightened motivation from Alexis. She sees the Lovers card gain it's first star and unlocks the Follow Up ability on it.

"When I was little, I used to watch this anime where the main villain was a female thief." Alexis points out thinking "She's lose to the hero every time, but I always thought she was cool. She wasn't really a 'good' person per se…But she was beautiful, strong, sincere, and even sexy."

"Wow, good to know" Aqua said.

Alexis nods and continues "She always said whatever she wanted, did whatever she wanted…. she knew what justice was for her. I…admit I wanted to grow up to be just like here someday." She rubs her head smiling "I hope I'm getting closer now, if only just a little bit."

Soon they begin to leave, and Alexis said "Well, see you later."

Aqua a while later was on her way back to LeBlanc and her phone rings and she answers as it was from Alexis.

"Heey, it's me. Thanks for coming with me today!" Alexis said smiling "So after we met up, I tried doing some runway walks on the way home. Like how a cool, sexy woman would walk. Then some girl who was watching me nearby started to copy me and runway walked with me!"

"Oh that's interesting" Aqua said smiling

"She had to have seen me, right?" Alexis said sounding a bit happy "Do you think she thought I was cool…?"

"Could be." Aqua said thinking.

"Yeah that sounds like it" Pixie said nodding

Alexis giggles a bit and says "It's almost enough to make me blush, kind of." She then sighs "To be honest, I feel kind of bad for her. She has no idea that the real me is a human disaster. Mmmm…I guess I still got a long way to go. But I'm not giving up."

"You'll get there." Aqua said smiling.

"I made a decision that I'm going to get stronger, so I need to overcome any obstacles!" Alexis said firmly "Thanks for hearing out! Okay, bye!"

"See you Alexis" Aqua said smiling and hangs up and heads into LeBlanc.

Aqua goes dressed into her normal clothes and then did a crossword puzzle to improve her Knowledge. She then checks her messages as she had one from Uzi.

"Exams are coming up soon…tomorrow to be exact." Uzi messaged "You're not…getting a jump on studying without me, right? Right? If you're gonna do it, you want to do it together? I'm in serious trouble."

"Then let's study together." Aqua messaged smiling.

"That's a huge help." Uzi messaged "I'll be waiting at the diner in Remnant."

Aqua nods and meets up with Uzi at the diner and like before they got a booth table, ordered drinks and got to work studying.

"Huhhh, I'm starting to get the hang of this." Uzi said smiling "So I guess that's what I do with this one too…Wait, that's no good. Bite me, what'd I mess up on?"

"Try starting over." Aqua suggested to her.

"Good advice Aqua." Gatomon said to them from the bag smiling "It's important to revisit and review where things went wrong."

"Yeah." Aqua said nodding smiling and felt her knowledge increase. Gatomon goes back into the bag.

"Hmmmm…Oh here! If I just fix this…" Uzi said spotting where she went wrong. "Whoa, problem solved! You're crazy amazing!"

"It is mostly simple wait of studying" Aqua said smiling

"I'm going to grab a refill. Solving that questions got me real pumped up." Uzi said proudly. "Want a refill too?"

"Sure" Aqua said nodding.

The two continue studying till it was time to go home. They did what they can do, the next day mid-term exams would begin.

Preperations are done now it is time for the exams lets hope the gang did enough to pass.
