Everyday Life 2

It was now Saturday the 28th of May and Aqua was on her way to school, as she walked she overhears the conversation of the two students in front of her.

"Oh yeah, the cleanup event is the day after tomorrow." An Male Apathetic First-Year said "My class has to go in the opposite direction of Everfree Park.."

"I'm kind of looking forward to it." A Female Docile First-Year said "That honour student is actually in my group!"

"Huh? What, is he like, your type or something?" The Apathetic First Year asked. "Either way, too bad. I hear honour students are exempt from the cleaning. Totally unfair, am I right?"

"Wha…So, am I alone on a team of upperclassman then?" The Docile First-Year said shocked "This sucks. I want to just ditch now…"

Aqua continues and spends the time at the school, as she walks the halls at lunch she hears students talking about the cleanup event, how the honour student was exempt from said event and the clothes students needed to wear was gym clothes and the meeting place is Everfree Park.

Soon it was the end of the day and as Aqua was getting ready to leave Gatomon said "Hey, there was something going on with Yor, wasn't there? Something involving Benson…I'm not sure what's going on, but maybe you should ask her about it? She's probably still at school, right? Let's go look for her."

Aqua sighs and nods "Yeah, I guess so." It was lucky that she and the teacher acted normal but no sense keeping the awkwardness and talk about it.

Aqua walks through the hall and stops by the hallway on the second floor near the Faculty Office. She sees Benson confronting Yor.

"…Mrs. Forger, I already know…" Benson said with his arms folded glaring at Yor.

"Yor's been driven into a corner by Benson!" Gatomon said "Let's talk to her so we can help her out."

"Right." Aqua said and goes over approaching them.

"As I've been saying…" Yor said sighing but sees Aqua "Get home safely, Aqua." She looks to Benson "Well then, I have another matter to attend to, so I have to excuse myself…"

"No! We're not done talking yet!" Benson said keeping her from leaving.

"But I…" Yor said a bit nervous.

"Maybe you don't fully understand that we've had a recent series of scandals on the campus. We're all being called into question." Benson told her firmly "And yet you leave work earlier then anyone and you always barely make it to the faculty meetings! Explain yourself! Don't tell me you're out running around at night?!"

"Yor's being grilled by Benson." Gatomon said to Aqua "She said she'd do anything if we helped her out, so let's clear up Benson's suspicions."

Benson looks at Aqua and said "The schools closing soon, Mr. Strife. Head on home before it gets too late. Or did you need something from Mrs. Forger?"

"Yes, I don't need to intrude Mr. Benson but I have a question for her." Aqua said nodding.

"Excuse me?" Benson asked confused.

"Huh…?" Yor lets out but seeing a wink for Aqua realizes it and said "Oh! Y-You have another question?!"

"…Another question?" Benson asked confused.

"Th-That's right!" Yor said with a smile "Aqua's questions are complicated, so I take time at night to help her…" Aqua nods to this.

"So, you're giving individual lessons outside of school hours, hm?" Benson said thinking and smiles "How very passionate! You're an ideal teacher! A passionate teacher is exactly what we need at this school. I'm sorry for suspecting you, you can count on me to vouch for you. Well then, keep up the hard work, you two." He walks off smiling.

"He just kind of convinced himself…" Yor said in bemusement and looks at Aqua "But that did clear up his suspicion, so…. thanks. Could you come with me for a bit?"

"Sure" Aqua said nodding and follows Yor to the area near the door leading to the bridget that connected the classroom building and PE building.

"I can't talk about this at school…" Yor said as she hands Aqua a slip of paper "This is the address and phone number of my night job." Aqua nods and takes it, receiving Yor's phone number. "Call at night and request me. Just be careful that it doesn't show up in your call history though, okay?"

"Yeah, you did it!" Gatomon said within the bag. "No call history means a public telephone. Let's call from Leblanc's yellow phone. Let's call Yor when you're free, and invite her to meet you at your room!"

"Okay, I have to go." Yor said nodding and leaves.

Aqua puts the paper away and checks her messages and sees she has one from Alexis and goes to meet her at the Underground mall.

Alexis nods to Aqua and said "Strengthening my heart is turning out to be harder that I thought…Do you think we can maybe talk some more about it?"

"Sure let's hang out." Aqua said as Amo-no-Uzume nods as well.

"Then let's head back to Everfree Park. We can talk there." Alexis said with a smile.

The two arrived at Everfree Park and stop by the lake to relax and talk.

"Oh, look at those ducks over there! They must be a family!" Alexis said with a smile. "This place seriously feels amazing. It's not even that far from Beacon, but it feels so different here."

"Yeah, I agree" Aqua said with a nod this park reminds her of home.

"You know, Vale is so strange." Alexis said thinking "There are tons of people of different races and tons of stores, yet there are still duck-filled parks here too. It has everything…but it feels like I can't understand any of it. It's honestly kind of scary."

"I know what you mean." Aqua said with a sigh.

"It can be intimidating for someone not use to it." Amo said.

"Oh right. You only just moved here, Aqua." Alexis said knowing what Aqua meant. She sighs and says "When I first got here, I had a super tough time adjusting. It's so crowded, and everyone walks really fast…almost like they're angry or something. Even at school, I was only ever the 'foreigner,' Nobody really know me; they just spread rumors."

"I thought maybe my looks were the problem. I even considered dyeing my hair black to match everyone else…." Alexis continued and smiles "But that was when Hina talked to me. The first thing she said was, 'Alexis, your paintings suck.'"

Aqua giggles and said "That's hilarious."

"A unique way to start a friendship that's for sure" Amo said giggling as well.

"I thought she was just making fun of me like everyone else, but that wasn't her intentions." Alexis explained and laughs "According to her, they were so bad that she just HAD to tell me. Pretty much, huh? Still, that was the first time someone here talked to me without mentioning my looks. We sort of just grew closer after that…and Hina's been my best friend ever since."

Alexis eyes widen and she said "That's not why we're here though! There's something else I need to talk to you about!" Aqua sweatdrops at this "Do you remember what I told you the last time we came here? About that female thief in the anime I used to watch? Well, I thought something!"

"Tell me." Aqua said to her.

"Don't leave us in suspense." Amo said.

Alexis giggles and said "It's going to know your socks off! You know how the villains in those shows are always going on about world domination? Well, even though they get beaten by the heroes every time, they never give up. That means they must have really solid hearts…And that's why I'm going to try and learn from them!"

"Good idea." Aqua said with a smile.

"I agree, definitely a good lesson to take them." Amo said with a nod.

"Right?" Alexis said smiling "So I've decided…" She remains quiet and then stands up as she said "I'm going to star in action movies!"

"Good luck with that." Aqua said with a nod.

"Defiantly a strong goal." Amo said thinking.

"Thanks! Your support really helps!" Alexis said smiling and Aqua sweat drops "All right, I'm making this my ultimate goal for the future. You know, I've never really thought much about what I wanted to do in like…but now I have an objective! And that only happened because of talking to you, Aqua! Thanks!"

Aqua smiles as she feels heightened motivation from Alexis. The Lovers Card ranks up to 4 and a new ability, Sexy Technique which has a chance to grab the enemy's attention and cancel their action.

"Well, if I want to be in action movies, I'll need to work on my actions!" Alexis said thinking "I have exercised but I wonder how many sit-ups I should do to get ready…Hold on, Uzi said she knows a good gym! I should ask her for advice!" She then smiles "Oh, and I need to tell Hina that I have a new goal! She'll definitely be happy to hear that!"

"I think so too." Aqua said nodding.

"Well come on, let's jog to the station!" Alexis said.

Aqua jogs with Alexis, the two went their separate ways and as Aqua was approaching to Leblanc she gets a call from Alexis.

"Hi, it's me. You good to talk right now?" Alexis said "So, I'd like to think I'm pretty athletic. Like, I don't have problems with exercise or anything…But I will admit I was exhausted from running to the station earlier…Maybe I've go to train my body along with my heart. Do you do anything to train your body?"

"I train every day." Aqua said to Alexis.

"Yeah, any activity can be a form of training" Amo said nodding.

"So that's pretty much your lifestyle?" Alexis said thinking "You don't, like…do squats in class or anything, right? ...Oof my thihs are hurting just thinking about it…Okay, first I need to research what kind of training's best for me! For now, I'll just do some curls with a water bottle. I already drank it halfway, but…better than nothing, right? Well, see you later!"

"See you." Aqua said ending the call and enters the café.

Aqua gets dressed into her normal clothes and watched the latest Ranger series episode. She then heads out with Gatomon to Beacon Central Steet and enters Joyful Big Bang Burger.

Larry standing behind the counter said "Welcome to Joyful Big Bang Burger, open 24 hours a day because there's no day or night in space! Oh, hey Aqua."

"Hey Larry, so you work here and the Kwik-E-Mart?" Aqua said smiling.

"Yep, anyway." Larry said and cleared his throat "We're currently offering what we call the Big Bang Challenge! If you can finish our special large-volume burger with the time limit, then you win! And we have a luxurious prize prepared for those who succeed! Why don't you take the challenge? The universe awaits!"

"Sounds interesting" Aqua said thinking.

"At night, the challenge will only cost our intrepid travellers a meager fee of 500 credits!" Larry tells her.

"A challenge, huh? How about giving it a try?" Gatomon said smiling.

"We are also now offering a new limited-edition spring item: the Earth Burger!" Larry also added. "What can I get for you?"

"I like to take the challenge." Aqua said thinking.

"I see" Larry said and types into the checkout computer "At this time, you can take the Big bang Challenge for only 500 credits. Would you really like to try it?"

"You might earn some Guts for taking this and I think you can probably do it as you are now." Gatomon said smiling.

"That will be 500 credits." Larry said.

"Okay." Aqua said paying the money.

"Alright then." Larry said doing the order "Now ten, go take a seat! And good luck Aqua!"

Aqua nods and takes a seat in a booth by the window with a drink and sets the Gatomon bag on the chair in front of her.

Larry approaches and said "Thank you for taking the Big Bang Challenge. This is your first time, correct? Your starting rank will be Third Mate. Thus, your aim will be…the Commet Burger!"

Another employee comes and places the tray down on which housed a single burget that covered the whole tray, it was bigger width wise then Aqua's own head. It surprised everyone including the customers sitting close by who look to see it.

"This is a lot bigger than I was expecting…" Gatomon said surprised.

"This burger is as voluminous as a soaring comet burning in the sky. It will not be overcome easily." Larry told Aqua. "But should you conquer this challenge, you will be rewarded with an extravagant prize."

"Ooh, a prize would be great! Good luck, Aqua!" Gatomon said proudly.

"Well then, it's time to get the thirty-minute Big Bang Challenge started! Ready…." Larry said getting the timer ready and sets it off "Go!" He walks off.

"Here goes" Aqua said and begins to eat the burger as some of the customers watch her as she eats the large burger she thinks 'All this meat makes sense for a challenge of such cosmic proportions…!'

"It looks good, but it's so big…" Gatomon said in surprise.

A while later Aqua had finished it in time but it was tough as she groans and shakes her head thinking 'I somehow ate the whole thing…!'

"Y-You did it!" Gatomon said smiling.

The customers who watched talked amazed Aqua was able to do it. Larry approaches and said "Congratulations on completing this challenge! Since you managed to extinguish the Comet Burger…I present to you the 2nd Mate Badge!" He hands it to Aqua.

"Thank you" Aqua said accepting it.

"And to the burger baron who defeated this challenge, we present to you…Our world-famous Big Bang Burger, on the house!" Larry said smiling giving Aqua three Big Bang Burgers "We hope you enjoy the taste of victory."

"I see" Aqua said putting them away.

"New challenges will await you now that you've become a Second Mate!" Larry said smiling "I look forward to your next attempt at our challenge!" He then goes back to the counter.

"You took that Comet Burger down!" Gatomon said proudly "You were so admirable, taking on such a daunting task with that intense level of courage!"

Aqua nods as she feels her Guts rank up from Bold to Staunch.

"Your pace, your strategy of using well-timed drinks, and just the spectacular way you devoured it…Everything was perfect!" Gatomon added as well.

Aqua nods as she feels her Knowledge, Charm and Proficency also gain some experience. With that the two head on home to get some sleep.

A while late while Aqua was lying in her bed with Gatomon when her phone notification sound goes off.

"Huh…? Who could that be at this hour?" Gatomon groans waking up.

Aqua checks her phone and sees it was Uzi who messaged "Penny's real hyped up about finding our next big target…But something tells me she's just gonna get herself in trouble. Maybe we should go with her. She said he was going to Sunny Vale. And I let Alexis know too. Couldn't hurt, right?"

"Lady Alexis' coming?! Uh…I mean, fine. No big deal." Gatomon said trying to be calm and cool. "But you still don't know Vale very well. This might be a good chance to get more familiar with the area…or something. So, what are your thoughts? Will you go to Sunny Vale with Uzi?"

"Yeah, sounds like a nice time" Aqua said and messages Uzi "Guess I have to."

"All right! Let's all meet up over there then." Uzi messages.

"You're meeting everyone in Sunny Vale tomorrow, huh? Better get some rest. You don't want to oversleep!" Gatomon said.

Aqua nods and checks the phone of Sunny Vale, it was known as the Fashion Capital as well as home to many trends in food. She then goes to sleep.

The next day Aqua was in Sunny Vale for the first time with Uzi, Alexis and Penny all in regular clothes as they look at the people walking by in the streets. Shiki-Ouji and Amos were also watching.

"It's so crowded, just like I expected." Penny said amazed "The perfect place to start our investigation…" She looks at the three "But I got to say, I wasn't expecting all of you to come along."

"I had a photoshoot nearby for the duelling magazine I'm a part of, so I figured, why not?" Alexis said with a smile.

"But why Sunny Vale, Penny?" Uzi asked confused.

"Well, Sunny Vale's this big cultural hub, right? People from all over the world come here." Penny explained smiling "So that means there might be all kinds of international villains walking around in broad daylight!"

"I don't know if I get that logic…" Alexis said rubbing her head.

"Uh, for example…" Penny said looking around and sees a goth looking man "Oh, check that guy out! He's definitely suspicious! I mean, who wears black leather longcoats at this time of year?! He's gotta be shady! And all those belts must be supplies so he can tie people up…Oh man...Do you think he's an escaped convict?!"

"No, I'm pretty sure that's just a goth style." Alexis said with a shrug.

"But my phantom thief senses are tingling!" Penny said "Don't you think he's suspicious Aqua?"

"He is suspicious." Aqua said thinking.

"Yeah, he be intimidating." Shiki-Ouji said nodding.

"Maybe but looks don't mean someone is evil" Amos said arms folded.

"Right?! Look at him! He's definitely got this aura of evil around him." Penny said smiling sorting her glasses.

"If you think he's that suspicious, then go talk to him." Uzi told her.

"Huh? Me?" Penny said surprised.

"You're the one who's all hyped up about this investigation, right?" Uzi said to her. "So hey. Go up to the guy and ask. 'Yo, Captain Trenchcoat! Sorry to bother you, but are you an escaped convict?'"

Penny panicked said "You've got to be kidding! He'd have that belt around my neck before I even finished talking!"

Alexis sighs "…It's normal to see people dressed in unusual clothes here." She smiles "Honestly, I think it's kind of cool. Like they've got the confidence to wear whatever they want, you know? Like…nothing's gonna keep them from expressing their own style."

"Agreed" Amos said nodding.

Uzi nods and said, "Cool or not, they're definitely not letting anyone hold them back."

"Me think it's a way to show their true self" Shiki-Ouji said smiling.

"What do you think about unique fashion like this, Aqua?" Alexis asked the blue haired girl.

"I will admit I'm getting culture shock." Aqua admits.

"Heh. Not used to the big city yet, huh?" Uzi said grinning.

"Well, this is about as eccentric as it gets." Alexis said with as giggle. "So if you can get used to this place, then nothing else can freak you out. Hey, maybe I could put together a Sunny-vale-style outfit for you?"

"Whoa, that actually sounds fun." Uzi said with smile.

"Anyway, no more judging people by their appearance." Alexis said to Penny. "If they're wearing what they want to wear, that's something to admire. Heck, I'd say it means they're honest. Not like people who seen nice on the outside, but turn out to be terrible."

Penny nods and sighs "I guess you're right…"

"Lady Alexis is absolutely right." Gatomon said coming out the back and look over Aqua's shoulder smiling "After all, I look like a cat, but I'm actually a dashing, noble gentleman!"

"Now that I think about it, it's kind of Sunny Vale-ey to walk around with a cat in a bag." Uzi said smiling.

"True! He's like a really specialized fashion accessory." Alexis said nodding.

"Is…that a compliment?" Gatomon asked then smiles saying "I guess you're lucky, Aqua. You can get popular just by having me around."

"Yeah, if only that were true at Citadel" Aqua said sweat dropping.

"So, Penny…I take it you didn't actually have any leads here?" Uzi asked the girl.

"…Nope." Penny admits.

Alexis sighs and says "Yeah, figures. Well, as long as we're here, let's have some fun."

"Then let's get Aqua dressed up!" Uzi said excited. "Oh, and Penny too. Maybe Alexis can get rid of your weird anti-Sunny Vale prejudice."

"Huh?! Me too?!" Penny said shocked. "…Actually…if I've got any hidden talent for fashion, this'd be the perfect chance to discover it…"

"Lady Alexis! Lady Alexis! Help me get all fashionable too!" Gatomon said smiling

"All right! We can squeeze in a trip to the pet shop for Gatomon!" Alexis said with a smile.

"I'm not a pet!" Gatomon said annoyed.

"You know, Aqua…sometimes it sounds like your cat's really joining in on the conversation…" Penny said confused.

"Then let's get goin! Just follow me I know a place!" Alexis said smiling.

"It's all you, Ms. Dulist Fashionista!" Uzi said smiling.

Aqua smiles as she enjoys Sunny Vale with everyone and near the end of the day she returns home to put away some fresh clothes she got.

After finishing putting her clothes away she sees that tomorrow is the clean up event at Everfree Park. As she heads down the stairs she gets a message on the Dragon Gems' group chat from Alexis.

"Zane, any changes yet? How's Lysandre?" Alexis messages.

"Nothing at the moment. He is still bedridden." Zane messages.

"Wait…You think this was too much for that old jerk's heart?" Uzi messages concerned.

"There's no need to worry. His life does not appear to be in any danger." Zane reassures.

"I hope we didn't mess up on our first official mission…" Uzi messages "Can he talk at all?"

"So far all he has said to me is, 'I'm sorry.'" Zane messages "I haven't been able to speak to him since though. He is in no state to hold a conversation."

"For real…?" Uzi messages.

"If we end up taking legal action against us, our leader will be in big trouble…!" Alexis messages.

"You are under probation, correct? That would be problematic…" Zane messages.

"Hey we're gonna be okay…aren't we?" Alexis asked.

"I'm sure we will be." Aqua messages.

"If Aqua says so, I'm sure it's true!" Uzi messages.

"I will contact all of you if any progress is made." Zane messages.

"Let's just wait for the change of heart for now." Uzi messages.

"Yeah…Well, we'll be waiting for your updates, Zane." Alexis messages.

Aqua closes the chat and goes to check the home shopping channel.

"Time to do some shopping! Here's what we got for you today!" Chris said smiling "Here's the Japanese Gift Set! Show your love of Japan with these items! One Sakura Fan, One Katana Keychain and…One Uji Matcha Flan This is all one set, people! You don't want to miss out!"

"But that's not all! We've still got more!" Chris continued "Here's the next one! The Folding Screen Set! With this, Wind and Lightning won't be so frightning! One Elecproof Choker and One Windproof Choker! These will both be in one set! What a steal!"

Aqua thinks on it and the Folding Screen set sounded good so she calls the channel and orders it, luckily it was the last one available at the moment.

She then heads to Beacon and orders a Seafood Aojiru to increase her knowledge and sees a message from Uzi.

"Hey, short time no see." Uzi messaged "I know we just split up a second ago, but…There's this movie I got to see. If you're not busy, we could go see it in Beacon right now. 'The Cake Knight Rises.' It's an action flick! What do you say?"

Aqua thinks and that did sound good so she nods and messages "Let's go see it."

"That settles it then." Uzi messages "Let's meet up in front of the movie theatre in Beacon!"

Aqua and Uzi met up with Gatomon coming along via the bag and the three go into the theatre, Uzi paying for the tickets and got some seats and watched the film.

The current scene had Cake Man talking to the main villain of the film The Baker in an interrogation room.

"Do you wanna know why, I use pies?" The Baker said smirking "Cakes are too quick; you can't savour all the little taste sensations. You see, when you're forced to choose, cake or pie, people will show you their true taste."

"I am nothing like you." Cake Man said to him "You're a psychopath who bakes for money!"

"Everything about this movie…It's absolutely ridiculous." Gatomon said as he watched "But the protaganist's passion to fight for his friend, that really touched me…"

Aqua nods feeling she learned how to be more compassionate to others as the films helps improve her Kindness.

Soon the film was done and the two friends walk down the hall of the movie theatre talking.

"Damn, I might've teared up a lil bit." Uzi admits "These revenge movies really make me fell, you know? How about you? Don't these revenge movies make you feel something?"

"They do I will admit" Aqua said nodding smiling.

"Right?! This kind of thing is what the Phantom Thieves are doing too!" Uzi said with a smile "Alright, let's get going. It was fun kicking it with you today!"

"Same nice doing things that don't relate to Phantom thievery" Aqua said nodding.

They head home and go to bed; tomorrow was the clean up event. So, she needs a lot of energy for that.
