The transport came. Took Kraven off and a whole lot of Agents started to canvas the area. Luckily they were mostly people the Parker/Lane family have known for years. Maria, Coulson, and Fury also made an appearance as Teresa was obligated to report to him.
The family brought the kids inside whilst Fury watched over the conversation. He'd rather hear what happened from their perspective and Teresa's perspective later.
"So it wasn't just one of you who inherited your father's powers." Lois saw this as confirmation.
"It was both of you." Peter was amazed to see that his powers were passed onto his two kids. "This the first time?"
"It was odd," April commented as she rubbed her head. "It was like I saw what was going to happen before it happened."
"And it was like getting a warning of what was coming," Mayday added her interpretation of what occurred.
"Those sound a bit different from the way you described it." Lois took notice as she turned to Peter.
Peter had to admit this certainly was different from how his powers worked. "Because it is. April's description isn't like anything I've experienced." Then he remembered the few occasions he did experience it. "Maybe once or twice. When my powers are enhanced."
"So, April got the better version of it?" Mayday wanted to clarify.
"More like a different interpretation." Peter corrected his daughter. "Each of the Spiders I've encountered has different powers one way or another. Anya Corazon and Jessica Drew have their own different versions of how it works and what it shows them."
"Who?" April and Mayday questioned who these people are.
"Some friends of mine," Teresa explains to them. "I'd introduce you to them, but they're out of the city."
"And Stephen did say that my Sixth Sense is uniquely connected to the universe." Peter finished his explanation and saw their confused looks. " Stephen Strange. Master of the Mystic Arts."
"So...what does this mean now? I mean, with us?" April was worried everything was going to change.
"Well, for starters, we're gonna keep our eye on you," Fury stated as he leaned on a table chair.
"Without interfering in your personal life." Peter quickly shot Nick down, not allowing him to use the twins as he did with their father. "If your powers get out of control, there are already safeguards at that school."
"They were there to protect your father and his friends when they went to that school," Lois explains to them why they were there before the twins could even ask. "You can keep going to school like normal."
"And what about like at home?" Mayday was wondering what was gonna change.
"If you girls want to learn more about your powers, then I will be there." Peter immediately promised his girls to always be there. "You might want to learn the basics, and we would need to see if you got anything more than standard Spider powers. Jessica had the power to conduct electricity, and Anya could generate her own webbing without web shooters. I am still trying to figure out how she does that."
"Bottomline, everything stays the same, but things will change depending on what happens the next few days," Lois explains what is gonna happen. "Why don't you two go get some rest after today?"
The twins nodded and both walked away whilst the adults stuck around. Peter was worried about what this could mean to the twins now knowing both of them to have powers. Different, yet they were the same. But this could be a way to help and bridge the gap that was forming between him and the girls in some ways. They never got to experience firsthand the life he lived as Spider-Man and this could be a good experience for them.
Lois and Peter walked outside and watched as Teresa was overseeing the last of the cleanup of Kraven to make it seem like nothing happened. Teresa still needed to go in and give her side of the story to Fury so they could prosecute Kraven.
"Ugh, this has just gotten worse." Peter groaned and knew he wanted to help the girls, but the Goblin was supposed to be his top priority.
Lois chuckled and knew he was thinking the same she was. "Yeah, a lot of things have changed."
"Too fast." Peter sighed. "But I can handle this." He started to try and help encourage himself. "I've handled a social life, a team, and a part-time job. I can juggle this Goblin and a part-time coach."
"There's the enthusiasm that I married you for." Lois was happy to see he was getting an upside to this.
"So, what are you gonna do about your story being rewritten?" Peter wonders as Lois informed him of how her day had been going on the way over.
"I don't know." Lois sighed as she looked out at the home and the chaos. "I've never been rewritten before. Things seem to be piling up on us."
"Yeah, now I gotta work out on this. But with Reed as my boss, that might help." Peter saw there were a few upsides to being an employee with the Baxter Foundation. "I can get the girls everything they need with his facilities, get the equipment I need, that will help us out at least a little bit."
"Yeah." Peter then looked out to the home. "I remember when I was a kid, the weekends would roll around, May and Ben would take me up here... if I had an assignment, I would always see that confused look in their eyes." He chuckled as he remembered what happened. "It was like I was speaking a whole different language. And today, I could really use some of their advice right now."
Lois and Peter then just relax and lay back, trying to let the calmness of the moment lead them. But as they were relaxing, Harry was watching them interact and sighed, keeping his distance to not alert them of his presence. He walked over to his RV and wiped his face. He picked up one of his glasses and tossed it into the wall.
"Sir, is everything alright?" Bernard asks Harry.
"It's fine, Bernard," Harry stated as he was still annoyed and stomped around the room. "Turn on autopilot. I don't feel like driving. Take us to the city."
"Is this about Lois Lane?" Bernard asks him, starting up the RV. "It is worth reminding you that this is not the Lois Lane from our world."
"Everything about her is exactly the same!" Harry cried in anger as he eyed the small device the AI was talking from. "The only difference is she marries someone else."
In his world, Harry was in an armored military advanced suit invented by his father's company. They were working on trying to fight back against something happening in the center of New York and he was about to be shipped out.
Harry had a last-minute surprise when his wife, Lois Lane, came to see him off. "Come back to me."
"I always will," Harry promises her.
"You are forgetting the many other similarities-" Harry has had enough of Bernard and tossed the device into the wall.
Harry then got an alert and looked to the screen where he saw the cameras watching the mansion. Then he was shocked when he saw it was showing the Fantastic Four had rescued Spider-Man and he was still alive.
"No...no, no, no!" Harry cried in terror.
With the next day finally rolling around, the twins were a little confused when they headed downstairs and found that their father had decorated the whole downstairs with Halloween decorations. As always, Peter would stay up late at night and decorate the whole house with carved pumpkins, and Halloween-themed decorations and even made his constant pumpkin pancakes for breakfast.
"Oh, right, it's Halloween." April had to admit she completely forgot about the holiday.
"Did dad sleep at all last night?" Mayday asks as she looked around, seeing he went all out this year.
"Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't," Lois admitted when she saw Peter head inside with a bag full of costumes for everyone. "Speaking of the devil."
"And he shall appear," Peter stated as he walked over and kissed his wife.
"Okay, what is all of this about?" Mayday was wondering about why her father was acting so strange.
"What are you talking about? Haven't you guys heard about it from school?" Peter asked in surprise as he walked up to them. "It's Halloween Spirit. In New York, especially with Midtown High, it's an amazing time."
"What makes it so amazing?" April was confused as she sneaked off to get some breakfast.
"It's a time where the school helps out the neighborhood, even F.E.A.S.T. gets together, they put out games, activities, even a few costume contests," Peter recalled everything that there is to do. "It goes on from the Monday through Friday of Halloween."
"I've been hearing about this from your dad since we first started dating," Lois admitted she was a little excited to see the celebrations firsthand.
"So, what about costumes?" Mayday asks. She will have to admit, she always loved Halloween just for the costumes. "A certain theme we need to go by or something?"
"No. Anyone can always go as anyone they want. Just keep it in the boundaries of school appropriation." Peter promises them with a laugh. "One year, when I was still first starting off as a hero, I went as Spider-Man."
"That wasn't too on the nose, was it?" April asks with a sarcastic tone.
Peter chuckled and knew that was coming. "It was this whole thing. I was on the lookout for Venom, I was on the lookout for the festival and someone recognized me. So I decided to play it off as just a joke. Flash went as a cheerleader. He and the entire football team."
"Well, there's a sight I'd wish I'd seen." Lois chuckled as she took a plate.
Peter laughed and wished he got it photographed. "Well, listen, your great aunt loved it. She would get F.E.A.S.T. working around the clock to set up for the festivities. And she'd hurt anyone who got in her way. I'm not exaggerating."
"Your dad learned a lot about helping others from her because of this," Lois told her daughters with pride as she walked over, pecking his cheek. "Your dad's not a hero just because he has powers."
"Thanks, babe." Peter was happy to see she was at least excited. But then he looked and saw the hesitant looks on his daughter's faces. "I can see you girls aren't sold on the idea yet but trust me when you see how it affects the school, the sense of community, you'll love it."
"How about costumes in school?" April wonders.
"Eh, they don't really allow that since someone confessed to being a supervillain, so they'd rather not take chances," Peter admitted to them with a sigh. "Darn, crazy kids."
"But, it looks like you have tons to choose from when you get home," Lois said as she looked at the costumes that Peter got them. "You going dressed up?"
"You kidding? Me being someone else other than Spider-Man for a day?" Peter asked her in fake shock. "Hell, yes. Even I need a break from that suit."
"I think the suit could use a break from you." April joked, causing Mayday to laugh.
"Alright, well, you two can get a look into it later, you gotta get going," Lois tells the girls, knowing they needed to get going to school.
"Alright, bye," April said as she raced over and picked up her bag.
"Yeah, see ya," Mayday said as she grabbed some pancakes and raced out the door.
Lois chuckled as she took a plate of her own. "Where's Teresa?"
"She got pulled into an assignment." Peter was sorry to say as he grabbed a plate. "Seems Morbius is starting to misbehave and they need to move him to a stronger cell."
"Do we need to worry about that?" Lois was a little concerned about that vampire getting loose.
"Not for now." Peter shrugged as he didn't see anything to worry about with S.H.I.E.L.D. overwatching the whole thing. "So, what are you going o do?"
Lois then picked up her bag and looked over at Peter. "I'll be back. Most likely by tonight, I am going to have a chat with Drake."
Peter didn't even bother to try and stop her as he knew the trouble of walking into her path and rather stay out of it. He knew she was mad about the story being rewritten and was going to tear Drake a new one now.
Inside the RAFT, Teresa was overwatching the transport of Morbius as he was getting his cell moved into a ship to get him further away from shore. She had a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents around her and all armed to fight him off just in case he got free.
"Wonder what got him so active." One of the agents commented as they watched Morbius slamming against his glass cell.
"Could have been Spider-Man. However he knew, I don't know." Teresa shrugged as she wondered how Morbius knew her brother was back.
As they were loading him up, they didn't know inside the bay, Harry was flying in his suit, able to withstand the water and having a breathing apparatus on. He was hacking into the system of the boat and trying to set loose the monster so that he could finally be rid of Spider-Man. This was the only one of his enemies that ever came close to fighting back and killing the hero, which made him the perfect candidate.
One of the agents had their back turned when the dampeners were disabled and Morbius' cell became vulnerable. He didn't notice anything wrong as the alarms were also silenced before they had a chance to go off.
When the Agent turned around, he noticed the cell was empty and started to worry. "Oh, god." He then reached for his radio and contacted for help. "Everyone, we've got a problem."
"We're on our way."
He opened the cell and started to look around, wondering where Michael had gotten to. But then he heard snarling and screeches as he looked upward. Michael was on the ceiling and was trying to get out through it. But when he saw the man, he saw a feast and leaped at him. The agent only managed to scream and fire a few times before the Living Vampire was able to get a bite and take him down.
Teresa was the first one to reach the cell where she saw that it was open and Morbius was feasting on an agent. Knowing there wasn't anything that she could do for him now, she quickly made her way through the room so she could close the door.
"Why didn't the dampeners keep you contained?" Teresa asked as she looked over the systems. "Someone's hacked in."
Then the rest of the crew arrived and aimed their guns at the containment. Teresa however realized that was a bad idea and quickly tried to stop them.
"No, don't!" Teresa cried in terror.
But that didn't work as they immediately opened fire on the monster in the cell. The bullets went right into the cell and shattered the container he was in. Thanks to the dampeners being shut down, the bullets were able to shatter the glass with ease and released him. He came charging out of the container with immense speed and stopped right outside the container.
All of the agents started to surround him and aim their guns, thinking they could take him down. Shooting one bullet, Morbius didn't even flinch as all he did was dodge the bullet and speed across the room. Leaping off the wall, he used his claws and slit through the throat of the first agent that shot him. He kept going as he sped into the next agent and shoved him into the wall from behind. He was immediately crushed and splattering everywhere whilst Morbius tackled the last one.
Teresa used this as her means to quickly escape and close the doors behind her. There were reinforcements coming when she came running and closing the door.
"What's going on?" An agent asks her.
"No time to explain, Mason," Teresa stated as she became worried about what'll happen. "Just run."
As they went running, several other agents were preparing to stop him when the doors burst open. Except for the moment they opened fire, they ended up killing one of their own who was being used as bait. Knowing what he was going up against, Morbius then sneaked out and started to crawl around using the pipes on the boat.
"Fall back! Fall back!" Teresa warns everyone, knowing they're nothing but monster chow now.
Morbius went at them from behind and shoved them against a pipe. Doing so, the pipe burst open and gas filled the chamber. Several agents ran over just as the one who was hit started to crawl from the smoke.
"Get him!" The other agents said.
But it was too late as Morbius got ahold of him and dragged him back into the smoke. Then when that happened, they opened fire and tried to shoot him down. But it was too late as Morbius already made it past and started to come at them from behind. He sneaked up on the one in the front this time and waited did him to look the other way. When he did, Morbius came swooping in and used his claws to slit his throat wide open.
He grabbed his throat and tried to keep his neck secure, but all he could do was choke on his own blood as Morbius flowed the scent and tackled him to the ground. With the last one, he was looking around and trying his best to pinpoint where he was. But that gave Morbius the advantage when he went in and dragged the agent into the darkness.
Teresa made it to the cameras where she immediately saw all of her men were being taken apart in seconds. She was worried about what she was about to do so she could save the rest of the men on this ship. But at this point, he was bound to reach them with ease and rip them all apart. If she could save even a handful of her men at this point, she was going to do it.
Opening the doors, she allowed the monster to make his way out and jump ship. Due to the sunlight, she knew he would definitely hide somewhere in the darkness and stay out of the sun. He can't survive within direct sunlight due to his sensitivity and bat-like biology. He will stay hidden until night.
And that's when it begins.
When he will begin to feast.
With the girl, they made their way to school to see that Peter was completely right about how their school takes this Halloween festival. They were shocked to look around and see a lot of sign-up sheets for students to participate in the events going on. Even decorations almost overnight now filled the entire halls and even goes over the lockers of the place. By the time the day finished, they saw a bunch of people walking around with costumes on their bags to get changed into and amazed them.
"Wow." Mayday had to admit this was over what she was expecting. "Dad wasn't kidding."
Almost seemingly sneaking up on them, Adrian supposed the girls when he showed up. "Yeah, welcome to Halloween Spirit at Midtown High."
"A little over the top, isn't it?" April was wondering as she looked around. "Who puts all this stuff up?"
"He does." Adrian gestured over to the janitor who was coming past.
"And it is a privilege to be a part of this anyway, true believers." Stan the Janitor said with a salute and kept going. "Excelsior!"
Mayday felt something was off about that guy and watched him. "Okay..."
"So, you guys going to the festival?" Adrian asked as he reached his locker.
"Uh, think our dad is going to make sure we do," April admitted as she fixed her bag. "Got us a dozen costumes for us to choose from."
"Your dad just knows what you guys wanna go as?" Adrian asks as he closed the locker.
"Nah, he usually gives us a handful, we don't like them we return them and swap them around," April explains how Halloween works for their family. "But...my sister is a bit more...psychotic."
"Hey, it's not my fault you didn't ask for some specialized costumes from our dad's connections," Mayday stated as she knew she was gonna kill with her costume. She then got a call and looked to see a text from her aunt Teresa. "And I gotta go meet up with someone."
"Actually. Yeah, I was going to make a stop before I got home." April admitted as she gestured to the doors. "I'll see you back home."
"Yeah, see you at the festival, Adrian," Mayday tells their friend and walks off.
"See ya, guys," Adrian said as he made his own way.
Mayday was looking for help in understanding how her newly found powers worked and remembered what her father said about a man who helped him. She used google maps to find where he lived and walks up to the house of Doctor Strange, surprised that a place like this in New York isn't filled with more tourists or anything. Maybe it is some sort of spell around the place keeping people from staring. But that wasn't what she was here for.
Her body had changed without her knowing.
Her body gained powers.
Reaching out to knock on the door, there was a sudden opening of the doors on their own. Looking around, she was thinking she would see something as she looked at a lot of the relics and stuff. Then a portal formed and she spun around and looked over and saw someone standing there.
She had long white flowing hair as well as a purple mystical-looking outfit. She walked around the room, almost like she was ignoring the girl on purpose. Mayday didn't know exactly what she was supposed to do, call out to her, or wait to be addressed by the girl.
"Uh..." Mayday decided to just go with the ladder. "Hello. My name is-"
Then there was a sudden portal formed in the room as a man with a goatee carrying the Cloak of Levitation walked out. "Mayday Parker. Daughter of that annoying pain in my neck."
"Dear, be nice." The white-haired sorcerer warned him as she strolled through the Sanctum.
Strange sighed and took a sip of his coffee and sighed. "Marriage."
"You're married?" Mayday was a little surprised to hear that.
"Yeah." Strange knew that it was something to be discussed. "She's the niece of Dormomu, so I got her out of the Dark Dimension and...wait, why am I explaining this to you?"
Mayday had the same question in her mind as she played with her hands and shrugged. "I was kinda wondering that myself."
"Anyway," Strange decided to drop it and walked off, quickly followed by Mayday. "What can I do for you, Ms. Parker?"
"Uh...well, I don't know how to explain this, but..." Mayday didn't know how to approach this. "...I've inherited-"
"Your father's powers." Strange finished as he took a seat in front of the fireplace. He watched how confused Mayday got in a matter of seconds of admitting that. "I could sense your energy the moment you stepped into my Sanctum." He then gestured to the seat in front of him, asking Mayday to take a seat. "Figure you came here to discuss this new power of yours."
"My dad...he said you were able to help him," Mayday explains as she decided to take the seat.
Strange nodded in confirmation that he did. "I did. But at first, he took years by himself to try and control his powers."
"Yeah, but his powers came in a controlled environment." Mayday reminded him. "My powers were coming in at a state of excitement. Of fear. I wanna know how to control it better."
"Then...you wish for me to teach you what your father learned from me?" Strange asks, standing up, knowing this was gonna be a bit of fun. "Trust me, you don't want that."
Mayday stood up and stepped in front of Strange. "I do. I...just...give me a sense of-"
Before she even had a chance to finish the question, Strange quickly placed his hand on her head and gave Mayday a look into the universe. Mayday had no idea what was happening when she felt as if the entire room was stretching out, and she was flung out of the building. She screamed in fear as she flew around, flying out into the vastness of space where she stopped and looked down at the earth.
When she noticed a butterfly was flapping its wings around, she got a little confused by that and reached to touch it. But the moment that she did touch the butterfly, she was immediately slingshotted out into the vastness of the universe.
"Her heartbeat is becoming dangerously high," Clea warned her husband.
Mayday was then flung backward like she was attached to a rope, being shot backward through the cosmos like it was nothing. Then she found herself coming back to earth and landing back in the chair she had just left. She looked around and saw Clea standing to her left, and Strange to her right, looking over her scared face.
"She seems alright to me." Strange shrugged.
And even before she could catch her breath, Mayday was watching the room stretch out again. Then she was flung out of the seat again and screamed as she flew around the universe, even getting peaks of dozens of others.
"You wanna know what happened to you? You are now connected to a larger strand of existence," Strange informed Mayday as she continued to scream.
Mayday slammed into some form of ground and watched as she split into thousands of different versions of herself. Then she was shoved into the ground and went falling through the floor and into the next universe.
"You are connected to a place of existence where your mind is connected to one of the dozens across the multiverse," Strange explains as Mayday started to see thousands of different Spider-People across the universe. "This is the existence where mind and matter meet. The Web of Life."
Mayday then started to get hit by strings of spider webbing and fell into a giant web. She saw dozens of gigantic spiders coming at her with giant fangs, causing her to shriek and try and break free.
That's when she finally came and dropped onto the ground of the Sanctum as if nothing had happened. She panted and tried to stop herself from shaking all over as he looked up at the two Sorcerers.
"That was a fraction of what your father experienced," Strange informed Mayday.
Mayday didn't even try to talk as she struggled and barely got to her feet before running out the doors. She ran away from the Sorcerers as quickly as she could, barely missing getting hit by some cars. Strange and Clea walked and watched the girl run away from the Sanctum.
Clea couldn't believe what he had done to the girl and have him an annoyed look. "Was that truly necessary?"
Strange looked confused by her angered look and didn't understand what he did wrong. "She wanted to know."
"Pretty sure you just traumatized her," Clea stated as she gestured to the running girl.
"Please. She's Parker's kid. She's either seen worse or will survive a lot worse soon." Strange knew that the Parker's had a way of finding their way into danger. All he did was give her a small taste of the danger she will be in. "She'll survive."
Meanwhile, in Metropolis, Lois marched her way through the Daily Planet where everyone saw her. They all figured out what happened and were worried about what she might do as everyone knew never to scorn Lois Lane or worse edit her papers like this.
"Lane." Foswell jumped when he saw her march past. "I didn't know!"
"Excuse me, Mr. Drake is-" Someone tried to stop Lois, but she pushed her way into the office.
She seemed to have walked in on a meeting and didn't even care. She walked over to Drake and dropped the paper in front of him.
"You rewrote my story." Lois snarled in anger.
"I didn't do anything of the sort," Carlton stated. "I just merely corrected what was wrong."
"So, just for the confirm, we can't do any sort of reporting around here anymore." Lois clarified with him.
"Ms. Lane, I won't have my paper writing any kind of this nonsense," Drake warns her.
"Just as I thought," Lois stated as she tossed a piece of paper on the table.
Drake was confused when he saw that and see her march off. "What's this?"
"That is the best writing I've done since you took over," Lois stated as she marched away.
Drake was confused by what she said and opened the envelope: I QUIT. Yeah, he should have figured that's what it said. She marched past his assistant, Patricia Robertson, who didn't seem too impressed.
"He's going to crush you." She warned Lois.
"Let him try." Lois welcomed the challenge.
She marched her way out back to the elevator and was left with all of the people staring back at her. She didn't even say a word as the doors closed and left the Daily Planet for good. This only proves that Drake was really up to something, and she was going to do everything in her power to find out what it is.
