The hallway outside Aizawa's office was dimly lit, flickering lights casting eerie shadows on the walls. The air was tense, heavy with anticipation, as Izuku stood before the door, his hand raised but hesitant to knock. Beside him, Katsuki stood firm, a stoic presence, while Chieko fidgeted nervously, her anxiety palpable in the silence.

Izuku whispered to himself, "We need to do this. For Eri."

Katsuki's voice cut through the tension, unyielding. "Get on with it, Deku."

Taking a deep breath, Izuku knocked on the door. The sound echoed ominously in the quiet corridor.

Inside, maps, files, and survival gear cluttered Aizawa's office. Aizawa hunched over a table, analyzing reports under minimal lighting, which only added to the somber atmosphere. He looked up, his eyes narrowing as he saw the trio.

"What is it?" Aizawa's tone was curt, reflecting his constant state of alertness and the frustration bred by the ongoing chaos.

Izuku took a step forward, his voice steady but heavy with the gravity of their secret. "We need to talk to you about something important... It's about the girl we've been searching for, Eri."

Aizawa straightened, a flicker of surprise in his eyes quickly replaced by suspicion. "Go on."

Izuku glanced at Katsuki and Chieko, drawing strength from their presence. "We've... we've been hiding her. She's here at the school."

Aizawa's expression shifted from surprise to anger, his fists clenching. "You've been hiding her? Here?"

Aizawa's voice rose, filled with a mix of anger and disappointment. "Do you realize the risk you've put everyone in? This is beyond reckless, Midoriya."

Izuku's hands clenched at his sides as he tried to stay calm. "I know it was risky, but we weren't sure who to trust and she was in danger."

Chieko's anxiety was visible—her hands trembled slightly, and she avoided Aizawa's intense gaze. Izuku noticed her discomfort and felt a pang of sympathy.

Aizawa took a deep breath, his anger simmering down to a stern resolve. "You've put us all in a difficult position, but what's done is done. Show me where she is. We need to ensure her safety and figure out our next steps."

Relief washed over Izuku as he nodded. "Thank you, Aizawa. We'll take you to her now."

Izuku and Chieko had repurposed the small storage room within the school to hide Eri. Cluttered with old school supplies, discarded furniture, and boxes, creating a makeshift haven behind a stack of crates.

Izuku led the way, as they stepped inside; the room feeling smaller with each person who entered. "She's here," Izuku said softly, his voice a mix of caution and reassurance.

Navigating through the boxes and stacked furniture, they finally reached the hidden area where Eri peeked out, her wide eyes filled with a mix of fear and curiosity.

Aizawa's stern expression softened upon seeing Eri. He crouched down to her level, his voice gentle, an unexpected contrast to his usual demeanor. "Hey there, Eri. My name is Aizawa. You don't have to be afraid. I'm here to help keep you safe."

Izuku watched as Eri's grip on the box tightened, her small body trembling slightly. A protective surge welled up in him, a deep need to reassure her.

Chieko stood close to Eri, her body angled protectively. Izuku could see the tension in her posture, her eyes flickering with a mix of fear and defiance.

'Chieko's been through so much. Seeing her so defensive, even now, hurts to watch,' he thought.

Aizawa maintained a steady, calming presence. "I promise, Eri, no one will hurt you here. We'll protect you from Chisaki and anyone else who tries to harm you."

Although Eri seemed hopeful, curious as she looked at him, Chieko only seemed to double down, unwilling to move aside.

As Aizawa spoke, Izuku's mind filled with memories of the time he discovered Chieko in the hospital, injured and shattered by the very heroes he had once trusted. The memory was sharp—a dimly lit room, Chieko's pained expression as she held onto him, believing they had left her behind. He had trusted those heroes blindly, and it had cost her dearly. So he understood her reservation and her fear of making the same mistake with Eri.

Eri moved to step closer to Aizawa, but Chieko gripped her hand, not letting her go. Izuku could see the fear and determination in Chieko's eyes.

"Is there a problem, Chieko?" Aizawa asked gently.

"How can we trust you?" Chieko's voice wavered with a mix of anger and fear. "What if you decide she's too much of a risk and hand her over to save yourself? What if you think hiding her is too dangerous and we can't stay?"

Izuku stepped forward, his voice pleading. "Chieko, Aizawa isn't like that. We have to trust him."

Katsuki added, "We're out of options. This isn't just about us anymore."

But Chieko's eyes were fierce, her voice rising. "What if he's lying? He's a hero, just like them! And there are others here too who do want to give her up. How can we be sure he won't eventually give in to them?"

Aizawa, who had been quietly observing, stepped forward and raised a hand to silence Izuku and Katsuki. "I understand your fear," he said calmly. "You're not wrong to worry about such a thing, but I would never give in to such a demand. I can assure you, my priority is your safety and Eri's."

Aizawa maintained his steady presence. "You have my word that if the others try to intervene, I will ensure Eri is taken somewhere safe. I'm willing to have constant check-ins and transparency with you all. You can come to me anytime with concerns or questions. I will share our plans and movements, and you will be involved in any decision that affects Eri."

He continued, "I've seen what happens when trust is broken. I've lost people because of it. I won't let that happen again. You're part of this community now, and your safety is my responsibility."

Aizawa looked directly at Chieko, his eyes filled with determination. "If you ever feel that I'm not keeping my promise, you may call me out on it. Hold me accountable, and I will answer to you."

Chieko's grip on Eri's hand tightened briefly before she spoke, her voice wavering with a mix of fear and hope. "I... I just want her to be safe. We have to be safe. How can I be sure?"

Aizawa nodded, understanding the depth of her concern. "I know it's difficult to trust, especially after everything you've been through. But I promise you, Chieko, I will do everything in my power to keep Eri safe. You have my word."

Eri, her voice small but clear, looked up at Chieko and said, "I think we can trust him. He feels like... like he wants to help us."

Chieko's resolve softened visibly, her eyes moist with unshed tears. She took a deep breath and nodded, finally letting go of some of her fear. "Okay. We'll trust you."

Izuku saw the conflict in Chieko's eyes easing. Her posture relaxed slightly as Aizawa's words sank in. In that moment, Chieko seemed so small, like a child seeking comfort and safety just as much for herself as for Eri.

Aizawa stood, his gaze still firm but kind. "Let's sit and talk more about how we can keep you safe, Eri. We'll need all the information you can give us about Chisaki and his plans."

The air was thick with tension as Aizawa caught up on what Eri knew, which unfortunately wasn't much compared to what they had already theorized. The scent of dust and old paper lingered in the air, leaving them cramped with the number of bodies packed into the small space.

"What are we going to do when Chisaki finally gets through our defenses?" Izuku asked.

Aizawa addressed the group, his voice steady. "I've done what I can to keep Chisaki at bay. His attacks are more to intimidate us than outright assault. I don't think he wants an all-out war with us if he can avoid it, but if he figures out that Eri is indeed here, he won't hold back anymore."

Katsuki crossed his arms, his expression stern. "For now, why don't we keep Eri with the others? More eyes will be better to make sure she stays hidden. It's a wonder nobody has found out about her until now."

Izuku nodded in agreement. "The others would help, and I'm sure Eri could do with some better accommodations."

Aizawa agreed. "Yes, that seems to be the best option for now."

With the decision made, Chieko and Eri gathered the few belongings Eri had in the storage room. Eri clung to a small stuffed animal, her eyes wide with a mix of anxiety and curiosity.

Chieko knelt beside Eri as well, her voice light and soothing. "You're going to love it with us, Eri. We have a great group, and they're all really nice."

As Chieko helped Eri pack, Aizawa gestured for Katsuki and Izuku to follow him back to his office. The familiar clutter of maps, files, and survival gear awaited them, casting an ever-present reminder of the battles they faced.

Aizawa turned to face Izuku and Katsuki, his expression serious and filled with a mix of frustration and understanding. "You both need to understand the gravity of what you've done. Hiding Eri here was incredibly risky. If Chisaki finds out, we could all be in danger."

Izuku's voice was earnest, his eyes meeting Aizawa's with determination. "I know it was risky, but we didn't have any other choice. She was in danger, and we couldn't trust anyone else."

Aizawa leaned back, rubbing his temples, the weariness clear in his eyes. "I understand your motives, Izuku. You did what you thought was best to protect her. But you also need to understand my position."

Aizawa continued, "I'm responsible for everyone's safety here. It's not just about protecting you and Eri, but everyone under this roof. If something goes wrong, it's on me." His voice softened slightly, a rare moment of vulnerability. "Leadership means making tough decisions and living with the consequences. You've seen that, haven't you, Midoriya?"

Izuku nodded, feeling the weight of Aizawa's words. "Yes, I understand. We've made mistakes, but we're learning."

Katsuki's voice was gruff but sincere, his eyes showing a rare moment of respect and understanding. "We get it, Aizawa. We'll be more careful."

Aizawa gave a small nod of approval. "Good. I need you both to be vigilant. We're all in this together, and trust is crucial. Don't keep me in the dark again."

Aizawa's tone grew somber as he added, "Even if we manage to get Chisaki off our backs, there's no guarantee that another threat won't appear for Eri. The school may no longer be safe for her long term."

Izuku's heart sank at Aizawa's words. "What do you mean? Where could she go? I haven't heard of any other safe houses."

Aizawa didn't elaborate, his gaze distant. "That may not be the case, but I'll keep you updated on any plans I come up with."

Katsuki pressed, "So what do we do for now?"

Aizawa's expression hardened with resolve. "We'll need to go on the offense. We'll make plans to attack the Yakuza's headquarters while they're distracted. If he has that quirk-canceling drug, then that may be our only chance to gain the upper hand."

Izuku's eyes widened. "Attack them? Are we ready for that?"

Aizawa nodded. "We have to be. It's the only way to keep Eri and the rest of the school safe."

Izuku felt a deepened kinship with Aizawa, seeing the reflection of his own burdens in the older man's weary eyes. "We understand, Aizawa. We'll do better."

As Izuku and Katsuki walked back to the storage room to pick up Chieko and Eri, Izuku couldn't help but wonder if they had made the right choice. The weight of their decisions bore heavily on his mind, and he voiced his concern to Katsuki.

"How can we be sure we did the right thing?" Izuku asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

Katsuki, looking almost annoyed, gave a soft tap of his knuckles against Izuku's shoulder. "Stop overthinking everything, Deku. This is why you hesitate so much."

Izuku frowned. "But how can you be so sure we made the right choice?"

Katsuki smiled, interlocking their fingers as they walked. "I trust my gut. Whether or not it was the right choice won't change anything now. We just have to leave it be and take whatever consequences head-on. Together."

Izuku smiled, feeling some of the burden on his shoulders ease. Kacchan was right. He nodded, glad to have Katsuki by his side again.

When they reached the storage room, Chieko and Eri were waiting. Chieko noticed their joined hands and grinned. "Look at you two, all cute and couple-y."

Katsuki's face turned slightly red as he mock-shouted, "Shut it, third wheel!"

They made their way to their living quarters, a larger room converted into a communal space filled with makeshift furniture and personal items that gave it a homely feel. Everyone was talking and preparing dinner when they arrived. The room fell silent as Izuku, Katsuki, Chieko, and Eri entered. Curious looks were directed at the newcomer.

Izuku led Eri forward. "Everyone, this is Eri."

Denki's eyes widened in shock. "Wait, Eri, like missing girl Eri? The one Chisaki believes we have hidden and is demanding we hand over?"

Eri looked worriedly up at Izuku, but he smiled down at her, knowing Denki didn't mean anything by his words.

Katsuki knocked Denki over the head. "That's right, and you better keep this to yourself."

Denki rubbed his head, complaining, "I was just asking."

Shinso chided Denki for being careless. Hatsume came closer, noticing her electronic bee on Eri's shoulder. She smiled at the girl. "Have you been taking good care of my bee?"

Eri nodded up at her in wonder.

Izuku's mom, Inko, smiled from where she sat and motioned Eri forward. Chieko guided Eri over and sat her down next to Inko, who gently grabbed Eri's face to look her over. "You're far too thin. Shinso dear, can you make her a plate?"

"Yes, ma'am." Shinso said as he put together a small plate while the others moved closer.

Inko reassured Eri, "There's nothing to worry about now."

Denki smiled, offering some of his stashed cookies in apology. "I promise to play lots of games with you."

While the others introduced themselves to Eri, who looked around trying to keep up with their words, Katsuki chided them, "Don't overwhelm her."

Izuku asked Hatsume, "Do you have anything that could help cover Eri's horn?"

Hatsume seemed thoughtful before pulling out a spare set of goggles similar to her own. She placed them on Eri's head.

Eri touched the goggles on her head in question as Hatsume declared, "Perfect fit! Now, you're officially part of the team."

Chieko smiled for Eri, who thanked Hatsume as she sat down and accepted the plate Shinso brought over for her.

As the initial introductions settled down, the room slowly filled with the comforting sounds of chatter and laughter.

Eri, with Hatsume's goggles resting on her head, seemed more at ease. She sat beside Inko, who gently coaxed her to take another bite of her meal. Nearby, Denki animatedly gestured as he described the various games they could play together, his excitement contagious. Chieko and Shinso sat a little apart, their heads close together in quiet conversation as they ate.

Izuku leaned against the wall, taking it all in. The room hummed with laughter and light-hearted banter.

Katsuki, standing a few feet away, glanced over. His usual scowl had softened, replaced with an expression that spoke of reflection and a quiet determination. Their eyes met, and without a word, Katsuki moved to sit beside Izuku, their shoulders brushing in a silent show of solidarity.

Katsuki's hand found Izuku's, their fingers interlocking. The surrounding room buzzed with a sense of normalcy that had been absent for a while now.

Izuku squeezed Katsuki's hand, feeling the strength and reassurance in his grip. In this moment, surrounded by the people he cared about, Izuku found the strength to keep moving.
