The Painful Truth - Chapter 38: Pervert
.
Saturday, November 19:
Morning, Morinozuka Estate:
Leaving security, I headed straight for the library, my good mood completely gone.
Akira and I decided to have a late breakfast in bed. With our busy schedules, we don't make near enough time to just be together, catch up, and talk about anything under the sun.
Unfortunately, as soon as I reached my office, Aoi suggested I hear the report from the overnight security officer.
Akira might be more worried about our younger son and his socializing at dance clubs and arcades, but our heir has me more concerned.
"Takashi," I called out in that 'mother' tone as soon as I opened the door.
Instantly, he was on his feet, "Yes, Mother?"
Haruhi stood as well. Although she didn't say anything, I could read the question in her eyes, "Please stay, Haruhi-chan. This concerns you as well."
And I stood there staring at them, wondering how to start.
I leveled a glare at my son, "Security has checked both the news and social media and has found no mention of the fact that you stayed here last night."
His shoulders relaxed minutely, "I slept in my old room."
"I'm aware. However, did your father and I not make it clear that you were not to stay here overnight?"
"You did. I apologize, Mother. By the time our evening ended, I was too tired to drive," he bowed his head.
A quick glance at Haruhi-chan, and I realized she didn't even know he stayed. "I thought you went home. Where did your schoolbooks come from?"
"I asked our housekeeper to send them over."
"Oh."
"There are cars and drivers here at the estate, Takashi. If you are truly too tired to drive, next time have one of them take you home. Do not put me in the position to place a curfew on you leaving this estate."
"Yes, Mother. It won't happen again."
"Thank you." I turned to Haruhi-chan, "What are your plans for this afternoon?"
"I hope to be done with my art history paper before lunch," she waived her hand at the huge stack of Gothic art books. "If I am, I thought I'd read ahead in politics." Her eyes turned suspicious, "Why?"
"There are several upcoming social events that I need dresses for, and Kaoru-kun has suggested through your assistant that you need your winter wardrobe expanded." Her eyes grew huge, and I knew she knows what's coming, "We're going shopping." And then you really play with her, I smiled and added, "And getting manicures."
I think it best to discuss the hot tub security video with her privately first before discussing it with my son.

Late Morning, Group Chat (Entire Group – Kyoya now included):
Tamaki: What's everyone doing on this wonderful morning? I'm headed to my darling fiancée's to study [heart]
Satoshi: Just finished morning workout. Headed for [shower] and second breakfast.
Ritsu: just woke up and eating late breakfast with wife. Going to auto races ltr
Ritsu: doing that A date
Shinobu: what he said
Haruhi: Karou! Are you on this thing?
Honey: Cho-chan and I are working on the March fund raiser this afternoon
Hikaru: He's in the shower, Haruhi
Yuki: Studying with Akito then [camera] lesson tonight
Renge: Don't forget we're going to the co-op this afternoon Tamaki-kun
Tamaki: I'd never forget that
Haruhi: PUT HIM ON THE PHONE
Hikaru: Yes, Ma'am
Kaoru: What? I'm standing here dripping wet.
Haruhi: Apparently it's your fault I'm going shopping this afternoon.
Kaoru: Oh – shit for a minute I was worried
Haruhi: KAORU!
Kaoru: I may have told my assistant to tell yours that you needed fresh winter clothes. I've seen you photographed in the same thing twice.
Haruhi: That's because I'm a normal person and I wear my clothes more than once.
Hikaru: you stopped being a normal person the second you broke that vase
Karou: Not helping Hika
Kaoru: You have a bunch of events coming up in December plus regular outings where the press can catch you. Either Umeko-san can take you shopping or I will.
Renge: Or we could all go on a big spreeeeeeeeeee!
Haruhi: No way in hell
Yuki: I do need some new things for all the events in December…
Shinobu: I'm in if we go to a leather store too
Cho: Shopping Shopping Shopping [yen] [dress] [shoes]
Haruhi: Wait! Stop! I'll go with Umeko-obasan today.
Renge: Doesn't negate the need for a spreeeeeeeeeee!
Haruhi: You all go ahead
Renge: You're no fun.
Haruhi: Shopping is no fun

Late Morning, Akito's Rooms, Ootori Estate:
"What was that all about?" I didn't check my phone once Yuki-chan told me it was the group text. I have to get this paper done.
"Just Tamaki wanting to know what we were all doing today, and Haruhi mad at Kaoru because Umeko-san's taking her shopping."
"Why would she…never mind." I don't really care. I have to get this done.
.
I hope he's not mad about this afternoon. He's been so tense lately even with the fun we had last night.
Maybe I should ask so I can cancel if he is.
"Akito-kun?"
He didn't even look up. "Hmmmm?"
"Do you need to study all day?"
"I'm planning to."
"All afternoon?"
Now he looked up, "Why?"
"It's just that you've been so busy and so tense and so busy…"
He reached over and took my hand, "It's my last semester and my clinical hours are difficult. I'm sorry if I haven't been as attentive as I was last semester."
"It's not that," I rushed to reassure him. "It's that I planned something for you this afternoon, but if you'll be too busy…"
"What did you plan?" he asked with a gentle smile.
"Well," I could feel my cheeks heating up, "I thought a couples massage might be helpful. They'll be here at three. That will give me enough time to make my photography lesson."
"That's a great idea, Yuki-chan. I'm looking forward to it."
And I could tell by his eyes that he meant it.

Afternoon, Morinozuka Limo:
"I really don't need all these clothes, Umeko-obasan."
"Don't be silly, Haruhi-chan. Of course, you do. Kaoru is right. You can't be photographed wearing the same thing over and over again, and your agent would agree with him." I leaned back and sipped my sparkling water. "Besides, it's so much fun to buy clothes for you. The boys aren't near as much fun to dress up."
I heard her mumble, "At least they're regular clothes and not designer."
"You need to make sure Honami-san knows to donate a garment once you've worn it a maximum of three times."
She sighed and nodded, "Except for my around the house lounging stuff. I'm never seen in that."
"Of course, dear."
I glanced out the window for a landmark. We're about thirty minutes away from the next mall. I think that's more than enough time to embarrass both of us.
"Haruhi-chan, I wanted to talk to you about something else."
"Alright." I could hear the hesitation in her voice. She probably thinks it's about another society event or something.
"It's about you and Takashi."
"I didn't know he'd stayed the night. Had I, I would have advised against it and recommended a driver like you said."
"I know dear. You're very practical." I took a deep breath and plunged ahead, "It is about last night though." I paused a moment. "About the hot tub."
Her face instantly turned beet red.
"There are security cameras in the pool rooms for safety reasons. The night security guard felt the need to inform me what happened."
"Video…"
"You and Takashi have only been dating since the Olympics…," and I trailed off not really sure what to say next. Akira and I waited for our wedding night. But times are different even if he'd argue that waiting is honorable and traditional. "Would you maybe like to see a doctor about birth control?"
She went impossibly redder all the way to the tips of her ears. "I'm already on birth control," she whispered, but I heard it clearly. Already?
When I didn't say anything, she looked up at me, "Dad suggested it when I was dating Kyoya. I never needed it," she shook her head, "but I also never stopped taking it. It helps my cramps and makes me regular."
"Alright." I suppose as her guardian, I should have known she was taking it, but it's a highly personal thing, and she's a highly private person. Despite her being in the hospital at least twice since we took over guardianship, it's never come up.
She stared down at her hands, thumb spinning her ring. "Takashi and I aren't ready for that. We both know it. We won't be using a hot tub again."
That's good to hear.
What a unique situation…being the parent or guardian of both halves of the couple.
Should I talk to Takashi too?
"Is my son pressuring you at all?"
Eyes wide with shock, her head shook, "Not at all. He's a complete gentleman."
Not that I doubted it, but it's good to hear.
We're pulling up to the mall. Perfect timing. "Then I'll leave it alone for now. But please know, Haruhi-chan, you can talk to me about anything, even if you and Takashi change your minds."
She nodded as security opened the door, then she gave me an incredibly awkward smile, "Let's go shopping."
I'm sure that's the only time she'll ever say those words to me.

Dusk, Senso-ji Temple Grounds, Tokyo:
"Is that Yuki?"
Renge-sama started walking faster, and I reached out and touched her arm. She stopped immediately and stared at me. "Please just watch, Renge-sama."
"This is about Yuki?"
"Yes, Renge-sama. I want your opinion, and the less I tell you ahead of time, the better."
Numata-san and I came up with the plan to bring Renge-sama here with no idea why. It says a lot about her trust in me, as her detail head, that all I needed to do was tell her it was about a member of the group and she agreed, no further questions asked.
So, here we are standing about thirty meters behind Yuki-sama and that photographer watching them take pictures of the sunset behind the pagoda.
I know Numata-san's instincts aren't wrong. I just hope it's not another session like Tachibana-san saw where nothing happened.
Three minutes later, that photographer stepped closer to Yuki-sama and put his arm around her shoulder. He leaned forward and towards her. It seemed they were both looking at the screen of her camera.
I heard Renge-sama inhale with a hiss. "What the hell?"
When she started walking again, I stopped her. "Please keep watching."
"But…"
"Please, Renge-sama," Numata-san said as he came up beside us. He'd seen us arrive and had been making his way towards us while keeping an eye on his primary. "I need to you see. I need your opinion."
Her eyes darted towards him then back at the couple. "This is what you wanted me to see?"
"Yes, Renge-sama."
"How long?"
"Several weeks."
She turned and glared at him, "And you've done nothing?"
He met her eyes with a sad look, "I'm her third detail head in six months. Her trust in security was nonexistent to begin with. Her father's guards were basically spies and babysitters, then the previous two Ootori guards failed her. I've been working hard to build her trust. I didn't want to ruin it by bringing up that…person's…behavior. She's enjoying the lessons and taking pictures. It's something that's all her own. I didn't want to ruin it when it seemed she wasn't bothered by him."
Renge-sama's glare lessened and turned thoughtful. Looking back at Yuki-sama and that man, she thought about what Numata-san said.
I understood his position. As a new detail head, you need to balance gaining the trust of your primary and keeping them safe. It's difficult in the best circumstances, but with a teenager with Yuki-sama's background, it's like walking a tightrope.
As the three of us watched, that jerk's arm slid down to Yuki-sama's waist, and he pulled her closer to his side. He brought their heads together and pointed out something with his other hand. They were practically cheek-to-cheek.
"Well, enough of this shit. I've seen enough," and Renge-sama started marching towards them.
Numata-san and I followed without stopping her.
I'd seen enough, too.
.
Yes, I'm a lady.
But that doesn't mean I don't know how to handle myself.
When I came up behind them, I grabbed his wrist, twisted, and pulled. He squealed and instantly stepped away from Yuki. "What do you think you're doing?" Flinging his arm away, I grabbed hers and pulled her behind me, "Leave her alone, you pervert." It came out louder than I expected, and several people stopped and stared.
I'm so mad I'm beyond caring.
When Shimizu came up, I practically hissed, "Get this asshole out of my sight." He was cradling his wrist as she escorted him away. I hope I broke it.
"Renge…"
I whirled on Yuki and let lose, "What were you thinking, letting him touch you like that?"
"He was just…"
"No," I waved her excuse away, "he was being completely inappropriate. How do you not see that?"
"I…"
"Where's your self-respect? You're practically an Ootori!"
"But…"
That's when Numata cleared his throat, and I took a closer look at Yuki's face.
Mouth slightly open. Chin quivering. Eyes wet. Her shoulders had slumped inward like she wanted to disappear.
Shit. Have to remember she's not me. She's not Cho. And she's definitely not Shinobu.
Of all of us girls, she was raised the most traditionally. To obey. To obey her father. To obey the man he told her to marry. To obey men in general.
She's come so far since she became part of the group.
But obviously not far enough.
I slowly stepped closer, like I was approaching a frightened horse. Slipping my arm around her shoulder, I put on a reassuring smile, "Let's go get coffee or something." I need to get her away from the crowd and someplace we can talk.
.
Yuki-sama's detail and I followed the girls to a nearby tea house with the remainder of Renge-sama's detail. I wished I could have been there to see Shimizu-san escort that dick off the temple grounds but will have to be satisfied with the look on his face and her description of the event.
Maybe I should take her out to dinner as a thank you.
The primaries were seated in front of the window, and I surreptitiously slipped the hostess twenty thousand yen [~$200] to seat the details in all the surrounding tables. They were about to have a delicate discussion, and I wanted them insulated from listening ears. I sat at the nearest table, leaving a seat open for Shimizu-san. They may or may not need us for this discussion, but I definitely want to make sure I hear it. I need to know what's said so I can help my primary.
To her credit, Renge-sama had calmed down quite a bit on the walk over. They ordered a traditional tea service, and she waited until it was served before saying much of anything. Yuki-sama still looked to be mostly in shock.
"Renge?" Yuki-sama set her teacup down and tilted her head, "I don't understand. How are you here?" I was wondering when she'd ask.
She didn't answer right away. "You've had lots of guards in your life. Numata-san's your third since you moved in with Fuyumi-san. Shimizu-san's been my detail head for over ten years. It's easy for me to forget you don't have that level of comfort with Numata-san."
I saw Yuki-sama's eyes dart my way, then back.
"Numata-san was worried. He noticed that photographer's behavior and thought it wasn't professional. But he knows how much photography means to you and how much you were enjoying the lessons, so he was hesitant to bring it up when it seemed his behavior wasn't bothering you." She sighed and took a sip of her tea. Her words came quickly before, but she's being much more careful now. "Numata-san spoke with Shimizu. Then she asked if I'd come and observe a member of the group and give her my opinion. She didn't tell me it was you. Once I saw that jerk touching you like that, I knew I'd seen enough."
"Oh."
They were both silent for a moment, sipping tea and lost in their own thoughts. I think Renge-sama wanted Yuki-sama to take the initiative. I think she's still too shocked.
Finally, Renge-sama set her cup down and sighed, "You know your father's an asshole, right?"
Ouch. That was blunt. Yuki-sama flinched at the word. Looking down and watching her finger trace the edge of her teacup, she quietly said, "My father is not a nice man."
Renge-sama rolled her eyes, but she didn't see.
"Well, you need to remember you're not within his sphere of influence anymore. You don't have to follow his rules. You don't have to defer to anyone anymore. Especially not an employee. He might have been a famous photographer, but you hired him. You wouldn't have let a teacher at Ouran touch you like that, would you?"
She thought for a moment, and I could tell she hadn't thought of him that way – as an employee. She thought of him as doing her a favor. As herself as an imposition to him.
"No."
"Good. It's the same thing here."
Then she proved my theory right. "But he's a famous photographer. I was lucky he agreed to work with me."
"How much did he charge?"
"Fifty thousand [~$500] an hour for private lessons. Twenty thousand [~$200] an hour to attend his photoshoots."
"That makes him your employee. You were paying for his lessons. You were not paying him to be a pervert and use you to fuel his bedtime fantasies."
"Renge," she gasped and blushed scarlet. Then her voice lowered, "Was he really doing that?"
Renge-sama just waived it off, "He's a man who was getting away with touching you like that. I'm sure he was."
"Gross…"
"Exactly."
They'd finished their cups, and Renge-sama poured another. I checked Shimizu-san's cup and refilled it.
"You're engaged to an Ootori. The marriage contract is signed. For all intents and purposes, you're basically an Ootori. And Ootori's don't put up with that shit. Suoh's don't put up with that shit. And you only need to think of Haruhi to remember that women in general don't have to put up with that shit. You are your own person who has control over your own body. No one gets to make you feel uncomfortable." She leaned forward and put her hand over Yuki-sama's, "You don't have to put up with that. Respect yourself enough to demand respect."
She let that ride for a bit as Yuki-sama finished her teacake. I could almost see the thoughts coming faster and faster. She looked up, her eyes frightened, "What about Akito? What do I tell him?"
"The truth. All of it. Every time."
"But…"
"Akito isn't your father, Yuki. You know that. He's in love with you. He thinks of you as a partner in life. He supports you no matter what. You need to talk to him. You need to tell him what happened. He's good for you. He can help you find your confidence. But he needs to know."
She took a deep breath, basically bracing herself, "OK. If you're sure it's the right thing."
"I'm sure." Renge-sama finished her cup and declined another. "You also need to talk to Numata-san. He's your first line of defense against anyone trying to take advantage of you. You need to work together."
Yuki-sama looked over at me and I nodded, "I'm honored to have your trust, Yuki-sama. Together we can face anything."
Then she turned to Shimizu-san, "What did you do with Jigoku-sensei?"
"I escorted him off the temple grounds. I told him, in no uncertain terms, that he was not to contact you ever again. That he was not to bill you for anything he hadn't billed you for already." Her grin turned evil, "I reminded him that you are engaged to an Ootori, and he should consider himself lucky the Black Onion Squad wasn't going to be showing up on his doorstep to teach him a lesson in propriety."
Her face softened, and she smiled at Yuki-sama, "You don't have to worry about him ever again."
We all sipped our tea quietly and let Yuki-sama process what happened.
Finally, she gave Renge-sama a sad smile, "Thank you." Then turned to us, "And thank you, Numata-san, Shimizu-san."
"You're welcome, Yuki-sama."
Twenty minutes later, Renge-sama left with her detail after making sure Yuki-sama was alright.
She waived me over, "Come sit with me please, Numata-san." I brought my teacup with me, and she poured me a fresh cup. "Thank you for everything today."
"You're welcome, Yuki-sama."
"I'm sorry you felt you couldn't come to me directly."
"We're still getting to know each other and figure out how this will work best."
"But it can't work best if you can't talk to me about something you need to."
She's so young and naive. So different from the Ootori's I've guarded. I tried to be reassuring, "We'll get there."
She was quiet for so long, I finished my cup of tea.
Finally, she set her cup down and took a deep breath, "Akito-kun and I used to be nervous telling each other certain things because we were worried how the other would react." She gave a wistful smile, "I guess we still are a little bit, but we're so much better now. We decided to try to take everything the other said at face value. To not try to read into hidden meanings. And to be upfront with each other when we needed to talk about important things." Shaking her head slightly, she sighed, "It was so different than how I was raised. Father was direct in telling me what to do, but so many things were implied in his orders."
Because of his medical background, I'm sure that was Akito-sama's idea. He's good for her. I could tell they made a good couple as soon as I met them.
"We need to be more like that. If I promise to listen, to take what you say at face value, to try to understand your point of view, will it be easier for you to come to me with this type of thing?"
"Definitely, Yuki-sama."
"Good, because I clearly need help navigating the Ootori level of society."
"May I ask a question?"
"Please."
"Did what that man do make you at all uncomfortable?" I need to know where her baseline is. Did she really think nothing of what he did?
I was relieved when her cheeks turned pink and she nodded, "Yes, a little."
"There's a reason it's called 'gut instinct', Yuki-sama. Your body knows when something isn't right and tries to tell you. Follow your instincts. Follow your gut. If it's telling you something isn't right, believe it and act accordingly. And if you can't act, tell me, and I will. That's my job."
Silence fell again for a few minutes as she watched the people walk by out the window. I wish I knew her well enough to guess at her thoughts.
"Do you agree with Renge? That I should tell Akito-kun everything?"
"Yes, I do." I don't like that she looks scared. Surely, she doesn't think he'll be mad.
"Could you be there and maybe help me tell him?"
"Of course. Anything you need."
"Thank you, Numata-san, for everything."

Sunday, November 20:
Brunch, Various Estates:
Morinozuka:
I surveyed my family as I sipped my tea. Takashi did not spend the night here last night. After Umeko told me he stayed Friday night, I almost banned him from the estate for a week. Somehow she managed to talk me down from my anger.
He's my son and heir. He should know better than to risk the honor of the Morinozuka name by doing something so careless.
She thought she could keep the hot tub incident from me, but we've been married too long for me not to realize she was holding back. She assured me that she spoke with Haruhi-chan, and she and my son are not at that stage. 'Stage'? In my day, a couple waited until their wedding night. If I had my way, they still would. I promised Umeko not to 'confront' Takashi about it. I did not promise her I wouldn't talk to him about his urges.
"Will any of you be here for dinner tonight?" Umeko asked the kids.
Haruhi-chan shook her head, "No. We'll be out for dinner and after." Then she turned to me, "My weekly security briefing has been rescheduled for three this afternoon."
"I'll be there." And I know my son won't. He seems to have managed to learn that lesson.
"Are you doing something fun for dinner?"
A huge grin spread across Satoshi's face, "Strip club."
"What?"
.
Haninozuka's:
"Is that salmon?!" Chika practically screaked then grabbed my plate. "You can't have salmon. You're pregnant."
Had I known my younger son would be such a worrier, I wouldn't have told him I was pregnant until I gave birth.
I turned to him with a glare and tapped the table with my chopstick, "Put that plate back right now, Yasuchika."
"But…"
"It's farmed salmon and approved by the doctor. Now put it back before I make you."
Instantly, my plate reappeared in its place. "Yes, Mother."
"Now sit and eat your breakfast. Be glad I haven't banned tuna from the table because can't eat it."
He sunk into his seat, his eyes downcast, "Yes, Mother."
I called for a third rolled omelet, and Mitsukuni called for another cake. When he moved into the apartment, we insisted he come over for Sunday brunch whenever he was able.
My husband cleared his throat, "What are your plans for the week, boys?"
"Wednesday is Yuki-chan's birthday. We're going out after our study session to celebrate! Bun Bun's is catering the cake!"
"Thursday is another art exhibition at the Noguchi Gallery."
"We received our invitation. You don't seem interested, Yasuchika."
He looked at me like I'd lost my mind, "It's balloon art."
"It's a fundraiser. The artist is doing demonstrations for various selected groups of children. The balloon sculptures on display are for sale with the proceeds going to a youth art program that On Okuri supports. Your father and I plan to be there and purchase a sculpture."
He heaved a huge sigh. "I know. It is a good cause, and I'll be there representing On Okuri, but it's still balloon art. And the sculpture you purchase won't last."
My son, the traditionalist.
"Don't be so glum, Chika-chan. I'll buy you a balloon bunny!"
"Don't you dare, you alien," he glared, but there really wasn't any heat in it. The two of them have come a long way.
"Anything else?" I asked, hoping to get away from the balloons. I'm sure I'll hear more later in the week.
"We're all going to a strip club tonight for dinner," Yasuchika grumbled.
"You're going where?" Yorihisa asked.
Mitsukuni took over, "Shinobu-chan's gentlemen's supper club, Komorebi, is opening on Friday. The Group is going tonight for a soft opening to test the kitchens."
"And the performers?"
"Will be wearing modified costumes that will remain on. They'll just be practicing their choreography," Yasuchika ate another bite of tuna. I really miss it.
.
Hitachiin:
"Did you check with Shinobu-san?"
Kaoru rolled his eyes, and Hikaru nodded, "Yes, Mother. You and Dad are on the guest list for opening night."
"I just want to check out the costumes, Dear."
"Sure."
When Yuzuha and I found out about the boys going to a strip club for dinner, and then had the whole thing explained to us, she jumped on the idea of us going on opening night.
She says it's the costumes.
I know it's foreplay for us.
.
Cho:
"I have no idea what to wear tonight…"
"Where are you going, Nomura?"
"The group is testing the kitchens at the soft opening of Komorebi, Shinobu's Gentlemen's Supper Club."
"Gentlemen's Club? You mean a strip club?"
"Well, it's supposed to be classier than a standard strip club." She took a bite of rice and thought for a second. "Think of it as a Japanese version of the Moulin Rouge. It's member's only."
"Aren't some of your friends still underage?"
"The performers aren't taking their clothes off, just dancing. And no alcohol. It's a final test before they open for real on Friday."
My daughter's life is so exciting. Almost makes me wish I was young again.
.
Suoh:
"A Japanese Moulin Rouge." I turned to Yuzuru and grabbed his arm, "We simply must go. It sounds like fun."
"Unfortunately, my dear, that is not possible."
I tried not to pout. I really did. "Why not? Rene and Renge-chan are…"
A sad smile appeared on his face, and I realized it must be another Japanese culture thing I do not understand. I had no idea Yuzuru's social life would be so restrictive. "They are going to a soft opening that the press is unaware of. Correct?"
"Yes, Father."
"We cannot go on opening night. The club is owned by a yakuza syndicate. The Suoh's cannot associate with yakuza. Not the head and his wife. Not in a social setting like that."
"The Hitachiin's will be there opening night," Rene spoke up. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kyoya-kun shake his head. I'm glad he accepted our brunch invitation. I'm enjoying getting to know Rene's friends.
Yuzuru sent a hard look at Rene, "They are not in the banking business. Their business reputation will not be diminished by that action. Ours will. You should realize that, Tamaki."
My son swallowed hard and nodded, "Of course, Father."
"Enjoy tonight, Son. It's the only time you can set foot in one of her clubs."
.
Shido:
"But a strip club?"
"She'll be eighteen in just a couple of days."
"It's not that." I watched in fascination as my very pregnant wife finished her second bowl of ramen…for breakfast. "I'm surprised Kyoya hasn't forced Akito and Yuki from associating with the yakuza in the group."
"He's going too."
"He sure has changed since Yoshio died."
"We all have," she smiled at me, "and for the better."
Looking out the windows of the family dining room, I could see Akito and Yuki eating a private brunch on the heated veranda. They look tense. "Do you know what they're talking about?"
"No. Yuki-chan said she'd tell me later but wanted to talk to Akito first."
"But her security guard is out there. Was there a breach or something?"
"No. Nothing was reported. He would have told us if we needed to know." She asked the maid for another serving of grilled vegetables. "I'm sure it's fine. We'll find out soon enough."
"Alright."
I thought about reaching for the last serving honey cake, but decided I wanted to keep my hand.
.
Shido Veranda:
"He did WHAT?"
Her eyes grew huge, and she flinched back like I'd slapped her.
Shit. Pull back. Calm down.
Think about how much courage she had to build up just to tell me, even if she had Numata do it.
"I'm sorry, Yuki-chan. I'm surprised. I'm not angry with you. Not at all."
Just at that fucker with the grabby hands. And your asshole father who conditioned you to take it.
I could see it on the tip of her tongue, so I reassured her before she could ask, "Really. You did nothing wrong."
"No, you didn't, Yuki-sama."
I slowly turned to Numata and demanded, "Why didn't you come to me with this? You went to Tachibana and Renge's guard, but not to me?"
I'll give him this, he didn't even flinch at my tone. Hard as nails Ootori guard. Perfect for Yuki. Except he didn't act fast enough for this and didn't come to me…
"I won't apologize for not informing you first, Akito-sama. Knowing what I know about the Ito security policies, informing you, especially without speaking to Yuki-sama first, would have been tantamount to informing Yuki-sama's father, and I am not a spy."
Yuki-chan gasped and looked at me, eyes begging me to see the similarities.
Deep breath.
He's right. I've spent the last few months working on her confidence. Helping her see me as a partner, an equal. I do not want her to see me as anything like the dictatorial family head her father was. "You're right," I nodded, "but I'm only concerned about her safety. There must be a mechanism for you to come to me if needed."
"Yuki-sama and I talked about being more open with each other. If a procedure is needed, it is one where we decide to include you in our discussions."
That took guts.
Again, just the hardened guard she needs. And he's demonstrating right in front of her that he's on her side and won't be swayed away from her best interests.
"That works, as long as you realize I'd like to be included when it makes sense." I turned to Yuki-chan, "You'll probably never have the high profile of the twins or Haruhi, but I want to know about any security issues. I need to know, so I know you're safe."
She reached out and touched my hand, "I can do that."
Numata cleared his throat and stood, "I'll leave you both to your food. Yuki-sama will inform me of anything you decide that I need to know," and he walked back into the house leaving us alone.
.
When Akito-kun took a deep breath, I knew the lecture was coming.
I'm not equipped to navigate this level of society. Father taught me to defer to my husband in all things, and mother taught me to run the household. Knowing how to handle myself out while out in public was never discussed.
"I'm glad you have such good friends like Renge."
"Me, too."
"I get the impression Renge gave you a talking to about what you don't have to tolerate."
I felt my face grow hot thinking about how she snapped at me. Fortunately, she calmed down quickly. "Yes, she did."
"Do you have any questions for me?"
He's not going to lecture me?
There must have been something in my eyes – he can read me so well. "Hey, it's alright. Come here," and he held out his arms for me to join him on his lap. I did.
"I guess I didn't realize just how big a difference there is between your life with your parents and your life with me." His arms tightened around me, and I laid my head on his chest. "I mean the differences in how you are expected to interact with employees, society, and the public." He kissed the top of my head, "And even though you're turning eighteen on Wednesday, you are still so young."
Young and inexperienced. And lost sometimes.
"We'll be married soon and living in the Ootori mansion. You'll be going to university; I'll be in my residency. We'll be life partners. I want us to be equals in our relationship. But please know this. You are in control of what you want to do. With your education. With your hobbies. With your friends. And most definitely with your body. Never feel like I'm expecting you to put up with something you don't want to do. Not from me. Not from anyone. Never feel like you have to put up with anything that makes you uncomfortable. You are in charge of you."
I'm in charge of me?
I'm in charge of me.
"If you think I might expect something of you, please ask. If you are unsure how I may want you to act in a certain situation, know that I want you to be yourself. Confident and happy. There are no roles to play. You will be Ootori Yuki, and you get to define who that is. I can help if you want, but who you are is your decision."
"Mine," I said against his chest.
"Yours."
How do I figure that out?
"Like I said, the decision is yours, but you don't exist in a vacuum. Talk to me, talk to your friends. Talk to your guard. Renge is a perfect example of a society wife that will be who she wants to be while supporting the Suoh family. Cho is as well. Haruhi hasn't been with the Morinozuka's for even a year. She's still learning. You can learn together." He paused for a second, then I could hear the smile in his voice, "Shinobu probably isn't the best example of a society wife, but she absolutely doesn't put up with anything she doesn't want to."
"Not even from her Asshole," I joked, and we both burst out laughing.
.
Her laugh was just what I needed to hear. She was worried I'd lecture her, tell her everything she did wrong. She may not have known it at the time, but she knows now. Renge set her straight. She doesn't need to hear it from me. She needs my confidence, my reassurance, and me to build her up.
"This was another of hundreds of life lessons we all get. Don't focus on the negative. Learn from it and move on."
She lifted her head from my chest and looked me in the eyes. A little doubt, a little regret, but mostly relief. "Thank you, Akito-kun."
"Any time, my love," and I kissed her while our food went cold.

Afternoon, Security Offices, Morinozuka Estate:
"This should be a quick meeting," Thompson-san said as he sat at the head of the table and turned to me, "Anything new to add to the agenda?"
I reviewed it quickly. "No. My plans haven't changed."
"Alright. So, tonight we'll be at the gentlemen's club for dinner. Kono spoke with me about bringing extra guards to fill out the restaurant, so I'm bringing your full team. The ones that are not officially working tonight will be in the dining room. I've been over there and taken a tour. This soft opening has not been announced to the press. With over a hundred guards in the area, none of us have security concerns, but we'll be ready for anything."
Akira-ojisan nodded his approval. Both he and Umeko-obasan were shocked this morning when Satoshi told them about the dinner. It took some fast talking to calm him down, but he eventually approved after being reassured of no stripping, no alcohol, and no press.
"Tomorrow night you have an interview with that teen magazine in their offices. I'll do a sweep while you're at Ouran. Again, no press, so we're not anticipating any issues."
Just the fact that I don't want to give an interview. Too bad we can't cancel for security.
"The Black Onion Squad is in charge of clearing the restaurant for Wednesday's birthday celebration. I'll do a quick stop that afternoon for my own peace of mind."
I still need to get Yuki a birthday present. Better ask Renge what's appropriate.
"The Suoh guards are managing the guest list for the gallery on Thursday. There's been a press announcement, so the Black Onion Squad will be on hand to handle any press. Will you be going in the front door?"
"We all will be. I'll be representing the On Okuri board, so I may even have to stop and take questions." Yuck. I'll have to decide if I want to cover my scar or not. Probably not. It's not like I'm ashamed of it. We only decided to cover it for the Every Woman ads to minimize distraction.
"Takashi-sama has not informed me of any dating activities. Do you know of any?"
"Nothing beyond the gallery, though that's not really a date. We both have tests next week, so we'll probably have a low-key weekend."
"That just leaves the street fair."
"Street fair?"
"The Shiraishi Syndicate street fair on Saturday. Shinobu-sama told everyone, right?"
"Oh, that street fair. I guess I just assumed the group wasn't invited."
"It's a public event. I believe the twins and Satoshi-sama are planning on going."
"I'll talk to Takashi, but I'm not really interested in doing something so public."
"Alright. Unless there's something else not on the agenda for the week, we're done."

Dinner, Komorebi [Elegant] Gentlemen's Supper Club:
"Thanks for the ride, Shinobu."
"No problem," I smirked as I shut the liquor store van door after Haruhi and Mori climbed out. "None of us want the press to find out about this little get-together, so I figured this would be the best way."
"Does the Shiraishi Syndicate own the liquor store?"
I held back my laugh as I walked them in through the back, "It's a dummy. There is no liquor store. We use it when we need to get in and out of somewhere without being noticed."
"Oh, like Ritsu's plumbing vans?"
"Yeah." I pointed down the hallway past the kitchens, "Head down there and you'll find him in the dining room. I want to meet the others as they arrive."
I had their arrivals spaced out by about five minutes each. The twins and younger cousins were already here arriving in coincidentally one of Ritsu's plumbing vans and one of my grocery delivery trucks.
When a laundry truck pulled up, I let Akito and Yuki out of the back. "It's so exciting being smuggled in," she laughed.
Akito lifted her down from the tailgate. "Thank you for your discretion, Shinobu."
"No problem." I pointed them down the same hallway and waited for the electrician van to show up with Tamaki and Renge.
.
"You aren't going to play on your phone all night, are you Chika?"
I frowned at Satoshi, "I'm here because it's a group thing and would be odd if I was the only one not attending. That doesn't mean I necessarily want to be here."
"Half naked women and good food? Why wouldn't you want to be here?"
"It's like you don't even know me." I do hope the food will be good and not typical 'bar' food, whatever that is. I did give Shinobu my attention when she stood up on the stage…
"Alright everyone, simmer down."
When the room had quieted, she continued, "I just want to give you all the run down then we can get started…"
"Bring out the girls!" Hikaru shouted. He's probably the only one that might not get shot interrupting her like that.
"Quiet or I'll toss you back in that plumbing van and send you home."
That worked.
"This is a test of the waitstaff, bar staff, and kitchens. Feel free to order whatever you want on the menu, though all drinks will be mocktails. This club has two dinner seatings, much like Ranka's." She looked over at Takashi, "Thanks for the idea." He nodded. "We'll only be doing one tonight then we'll open the dancefloor."
Looking towards the back of the room, she got some kind of signal. "Your waiters will be coming by for your orders. They'll take the entire order at the start. Once those are taken the show will start. Enjoy!"
Handing the microphone off to someone backstage, she headed back to her table with Ritsu.
I'd been in the middle of a stock transaction when we were seated, but now I had the chance to study the interior. It's similar to Ranka's in that they both have a huge stage taking up most of one wall with tables throughout the room facing it. That's really where the similarity ends.
Ranka's has round tables with chairs to seat groups of two, four, or eight. They seem almost randomly placed, but I'm sure they are strategically arranged. Shinobu went with booths for more privacy. They are done in three concentric horseshoes, each rising about a half a meter from the one below it, allowing for an unobstructed view of the stage.
In the center of the lowest set of booths is the dance floor right in front of the stage – which has to be over a meter high. Not sure if the performers will come down off the stage and dance or if it's strictly for the customers. Looks like the DJ booth is on the right side of the stage.
She doesn't have a specific VIP section, but I suppose the first set of booths could be considered VIP. They are closest to the stage and where she has the Group sitting. There are ten booths set up for couples in this level, but she had the ones in the corners pushed together so some of us could sit in groups. Tamaki, Renge, and Kyoya-senpai are in one and Akito, Yuki, Cho, and the Alien are in the other. I'm stuck with Satoshi. The twins have their own, and for some reason Takashi and Haruhi in their own. The rest are full of off duty guards.
"Do you have any questions about the menus?"
Glancing up, I came face to face with a very large pair of breasts.
.
This is awesome.
Yeah, OK, the servers aren't strictly topless, but close enough. I'm guessing their regular uniforms are the short skirts and the bras that just run under their breasts. They have pasties on as cover for tonight.
I kicked Chika under the table to get him to stop staring.
Must have forgotten she asked a question, since she started explaining the menus, "Appetizers are served as sampler platters. There are four types: gyoza, tofu medley, soups, and tempura. Each comes with four different items of that theme. Dinners are ordered individually. Desserts can be ordered individually or as sampler platters with smaller portions. Do you know what you'd like?"
.
"Do you think you'll enjoy working here?" Cho asked the waitress. She'd already asked over a dozen questions about the food and the working conditions. By this time, the waitress was pretty comfortable telling us about her job.
She gave Cho a small smile, "I believe so. The pay is good, the benefits are nice, and leftover food is divided up for us to take home."
"Yum."
"Definitely. The kitchen held a tasting for all of us just yesterday, so we can answer questions and make recommendations. Everything is delicious."
"Great. We'll try the gyoza and tempura appetizers."
"Excellent choice."
.
"I'm not really sure, Takashi. What are you in the mood for?" Our server hadn't arrived yet. There were two for the Group's section and ours was still trying to get Honey to pick a dinner when all he wanted was every dessert. Cho insisted on vegetables first.
"Perhaps the soups?"
"That sounds good. It's actually a little chilly in here." I'm glad I wore a sweater over my shirt. Shinobu said we could wear whatever. The dress code would be enforced once they were officially open. Suit and tie for men, cocktail dresses for the women. "I think I'd like the hot pot for dinner."
"And I'll try the tonkatsu pork cutlet."
"Did Shinobu ask you for ideas for this place," I looked around and really didn't see much that reminded me of Ranka's. It has more energy, more 'fun' in the decorations. Here, despite the booths and stage, is more traditional with the artwork and lighting. The booths are leather, the floors a beautiful hardwood with small rugs under the tables. I doubt anyone else notices, but I can tell the booths were built to be modular so if one part gets stained or ruined, they can swap out that part of the upholstery. Smart.
"Her manager talked to mine. I believe her stage manager talked to Egusa-san for tips in managing the performers and backstage."
"Well, I suppose there is some overlap between drag shows and strip shows."
That's when our server appeared.
.
Leaning back and sipping my club soda, I watched Tamaki try to order while not staring at our waitress's 'attributes'. He really is far too innocent. Has he never even seen a naked woman before? Probably not in person. I'm positive he's never even gotten Renge's bra off.
I let them choose the appetizer and desserts and ordered a wagyu steak for dinner. If I have to sit through this without working, I'm going to at least enjoy my meal.
"And for dessert, we'll try the taiyaki sampler."
Taiyaki? Really? Fish shaped pancakes filled with red bean paste. Odd choice when I'm sure there's something more decadent on the menu. Doesn't matter. I won't eat any of it anyway.
I watched that short skirt walk away and decided to text Tachibana and have him arrange for some company for me tonight. I'm sure I'll be in the mood after the stage show.
.
"I'll try a mojito."
"Margarita."
I recognize these twins – the famous Hitachiin fashion twins. And there's a Suoh and an Ootori over there at that table. Fujioka Haruhi is sitting near the stage. I really wanted to be her server. I want to see that scar up close. There's so many rumors going around about what happened to her and my boss.
Too bad I signed that nondisclosure agreement and can't tell anyone who I see here. Imagine the press finding out this group of kids was at a yakuza strip club.
Not worth losing my job.
"And for dessert, we'll try the one of everything platter."
.
"It's fucking cold in here, Bu."
"Two reasons, Asshole. First, the crowd hasn't really warmed the place up yet."
"And the second?"
"Nipples."
"Oh."
.
Never in a million years when I retired from the Secret Service, did I imagine I'd be in Tokyo performing a security review that would require me to be at a yakuza strip club…gentlemen's club. Too bad it's members only. I should try one of her other ones on my night off. That Heaven and Hell looked fun.
"Ginger pork, please."
And don't forget I'm sitting here with the former head of the Japanese Emperor's security. Life couldn't get weirder.
I ordered the okonomiyaki. It's a type of savory pancake with cabbage, pork belly, and a bunch of other vegetables served with fish flakes and a special sauce. I had one from a street vendor and was hooked.
McKee and I deferred to Ogata-san for dessert. "The one of everything sampler."
.
Security Radios:
Igaya (Shiraishi Security Head): I'm here tonight running things only because of the guests. Himura-sama wants the security at her legit businesses to be independently contracted security, not yakuza muscle. So far, I haven't been disappointed. Tonight's their last test.
"Section heads report."
Kitchen Security: "No issues in the kitchens. Food smells great."
Backstage: "Three minutes until showtime. No issues."
Front Bar: "Front bar – no issues."
Back Bar: "Had to break up an argument between the bartenders at the back bar, but they solved it."
Igaya (Shiraishi Security Head): "What was the fight over?"
Back Bar: "Who was closing. Idiots."
Front Entrance: "I've seen the same car cruise slowly by three times. They might be lost, or it might be the press. Could one of the delivery vehicles have brought a tail?"
Igaya (Shiraishi Security Head): "Doubtful. They knew the stakes. Text details of the car. I'll have one of ours ready to follow them if they come by again."
Front Entrance: "Yes, Sir."
Back Entrance: "Back is quiet. No activity in the alley."
Igaya (Shiraishi Security Head): "Group detail heads, report if any issues."
Tabata (Tamaki's Detail Head): "I'm out front and can confirm that car's come by several times. I can have one of my cars follow if you want."
Igaya (Shiraishi Security Head): "No. If it turns out to be something regarding a Group member, we'll turn them over, but I want them in case it's a yakuza thing."
Tabata (Tamaki's Detail Head): "Alright."
Igaya (Shiraishi Security Head): How that man has managed to guard a Suoh, I'll never know. "Anyone else?"
Nothing. Good.
"Radio silence unless there's an issue."
Now to dig into that wagyu. I skipped the appetizer.
.
Texts between Cho and Renge:
Renge: Men are such simple creatures, aren't they?
Cho: ?
Renge: Tamaki's mesmerized by lots of leg and a little side boob. His dinner is going cold
Cho: Akito's trying to not be obvious that he's watching the show, but he definitely is
Renge: and Honey?
Cho: he likes it as a show. Keeps telling me they're good dancers
Renge: yep – simple creatures.
Cho: What about Kyoya?
Renge: not subtle at all.
Cho: Can't see Mori from my angle.
Renge: They pretty much have their heads together talking. He's not staring.
Renge: I can hear the twins next to us. They're talking clothes, but they are definitely looking at the parts not covered.
Cho: Chika looks bored out of his mind.
Renge: And Satoshi looks like a kid in a candy store, but those girls he dances with wear just a little more, so it can't be new to him.
Cho: Not new, he just likes girls.
Renge: he's our playboy.
.
"Dad would have loved this."
The question must have shown on my face because she quickly explained, "The costumes, the choreography. He would have recorded it on his phone and tried to incorporate it into his act. It really is well done."
"Hn."
Much classier than I was expecting for a strip club. I've never been in one before, but I've seen them in movies. I now understand the difference between them and a gentlemen's club. But I'd never come back. Haruhi's the only woman I ever need.
"Do you think any of the guys will become members?"
I shook my head, "I doubt it. The twins aren't old enough yet, and I can't picture Tamaki or Mitsukuni wanting to come back on a regular basis."
"I noticed you left out Kyoya and Akito."
"As the head of the Ootori Conglomeration, Kyoya can't be seen here. And Akito's too busy with school."
I studied her face as she watched the dancers, "Would you want to come back after your birthday?"
She didn't turn from the show, "Probably not. I'm getting to see it now. That's enough. Besides," her eyes locked on mine, "you created Ranka's. That's all I need."
My stomach flipped.
I love her so much.
When will be the right time to tell her?
.
"Anything wrong?" I asked after Igaya-san left after whispering in my wife's ear.
"Not sure. There's a car that's driven by four times. He put a tail on it, so we're waiting for more details."
"Probably press. They know this place is yours. Probably wonder why the lights are on when you aren't open yet."
"We'll see."
"Here," I shoved the taiyaki platter in front of her and pointed, "that one is the bean paste."
"Which did you eat?"
"Custard, of course."
"Of course. Just save the chocolate for me."
.
"These Daifuku are delicious. Here, try the sweet potato," I held one up for Akito-kun and he ate it from my fingers, kissing the tips.
"Delicious."
I ate a manju and it melted in my mouth.
The show's finale is in full swing. Maybe he's distracted enough to accidently let some details slip. "The plane leaves Thursday after classes, right?"
"Hmmm."
"How long is the flight?"
"About ten hours." That's new. He's never answered that before. Where could we be going in ten hours that has beaches…
Like a lightbulb going off, it's like he suddenly realized what I'm doing. "Yuki-chan," he turned and glared at me, but there wasn't much heat in it, "I'm not going to tell you where we're going. It's a surprise. It's a good surprise, so please don't worry. I'm one hundred percent sure you will love it."
"Is it romantic?"
"Yes."
"Will we be alone?"
"We can be alone the entire time if you wish."
I hugged his arm and rested my head on his shoulder, "Then I'm one hundred percent sure I'm going to love it."
"Good." He kissed the top of my head, "Please stop asking."
"I will."
And we watched the rest of the show.
.
"You must try a dessert, Kyoya. We're testing the kitchens."
"The kitchen made the dessert, Tamaki, and it got here in a timely manner. That's the test. I don't have to eat it."
"But how can we report back on the taste."
"Look around you. There are at least a hundred guards sitting in booths here eating the entire menu. My opinion on dessert will not be missed. You know I don't like sweets."
"What about the cheese taiyaki. It isn't sweet."
All I want is to go home and have sex. Tachibana confirmed my company for the night, and after watching the show it's all I can think about.
"Please, Kyoyaaaaaa."
Fuck it.
"If I take a bite will you leave me alone."
"Yes!"
I grabbed the small fish pancake and bit off the head. "This isn't cheese, it's custard."
"I'm sorry. It thought that was the cheese."
Not wanting to be rude, I swallowed the concoction, but I set the rest of it back on the plate.
Idiot.
.
The show ended to thunderous applause.
"Bet it's even better in the real costumes."
"No kidding, Little Brother. Maybe we can become members after our birthday."
"I don't know," Kaoru looked around, "I just don't see us coming enough to be worth it. Besides, I'd rather try one of her other places."
"Yeah, less class, more ass."
"You're a pig, Hika."
"You know it."
.
"Would you like to dance, Yuki-chan?"
"Sure."
If I tease her enough on the dance floor, maybe she'll help me with my problem on the way home in the limo. Or I could always take a long shower…
.
"Honey-kun?"
That tone worried me, so I looked closely at Cho-chan's face. She's pale and there's a light sheen of sweat. "What's wrong, Cho-chan?"
"I don't feel so good," her hand went to her stomach, and I led her off the dance floor and back to the table.
Renge must have noticed us leaving, because she came up and put her arm around Cho-chan's shoulder, "Are you alright?"
"I need the bathroom."
"I've got this, Honey."
"I'll help."
We headed for the back of the room but didn't make it up the first set of steps when Cho-chan's hand flew to her mouth and then she practically tore her purse open.
Then she threw up in it.

Author's Note:
Slightly shorter chapter because I wanted to end it where I did…
Dad laughed so hard when I read the first scene with Umeko and the kids in the library. "Takashi!" in that Mother voice… And making Haruhi go shopping. I thought their talk went well. Umeko wants the two of them to be happy but go slow. Makes sense.
Did the group chat rather than write a whole bunch of scenes describing a basic Saturday. Keeps you updated without a lot of unnecessary words. I don't think Haruhi will ever get to like shopping.
And then we come to the meat of the chapter – Yuki's photography lessons. I'll be honest, when this idea was suggested by beancounter I think we both had a more perverse idea to it. But I just couldn't make the photographer that scummy because he does know she's engaged to an Ootori. Personally, I think he was plenty ballsy with his hands.
Dad and I decided that Yuki/Akito would have smaller bumps in this book (but more of them than the others) because some of the others are getting hit pretty hard (Haruhi/Bu kidnapping, Kyoya finding his dad's room and his breakdown, Keiko's death, and a few that are still coming). It's hard to write Yuki sometimes because she's very different from me personality wise. She is getting better and has gained confidence and will continue to do so with the other bumps coming.
I hope the scenes rang true. I can just picture Renge getting so indignant and stopping everything. Did she break his wrist? Will the Black Onion Squad pay him a visit? If Kyoya finds out, I'm not sure he'll be able to let it go without a painful object lesson.
I think Akito did a good job reassuring Yuki about her situation. She's still learning about who she really is. (I can totally relate and I'm in my 50's.) Akito's good for her, telling her that what she does is her choice but she doesn't have to make it alone if she doesn't want to. Expect her to try to talk to some of the other girls. Maybe a spa day is in order.
Dad and I had way too much fun with the strip club stuff. The Brunch roundup where all the parents found out about it was fun to write. I had to pick one set that would end up going and Mamma Hitachiin made the most sense. Dad laughed so hard he snorted.
That just leaves the Gentlemen's club. Has anyone gone and checked out my Pinterest board for the series? (Link in my bio.) There's a subboard for Shinobu's Strip Club and I saved the floorplan I used there. Might give you a better idea in case my description makes no sense.
Men are simple creatures…I had fun writing their reactions.
So…the car? The food?
What's going on?
.
Next Chapter:
Not sure how far I'll get in the next one – just finished this one today, but hope to write ahead over the next week.
More questions than answers as things start to happen at the club…Haruhi's teen magazine interview…are these kids or business moguls?...and hopefully Yuki's birthday celebration.
