alTOStRatus Chapter 5
Name: Weiss Schnee
Physical age: 12
Mental age: 23
One year ago.
The next morning, Weiss appeared out of Shimm's shadow and saw that they were in a new section of the Mine. Jacques must have flooded the last section of the Mine last night.
"Shimm, what's the situation?"
"Your father flooded the last section of the Mine last night. Jason got us out, and we came to this section. We waited for you to unlock the miners' Aura's. The one called Den told us that if we tried unlocking their Aura without you and Jason then we would have to put them down. Troublesome."
"Thank you. Is Jason here?"
"Yes. He's currently staring down the lead of this section."
"Thank you." Weiss said before heading to find Jason. She found him staring down a group of people, one of whom had to be the groups' leader. She had blonde hair braided and she looked as though she should be a bodyguard rather than a miner. "What's going on here?" Weiss asked.
"This child believes that he has the right to tell us what to do!" The woman challenged.
"May I ask your name?" Weiss asked.
"My name is Artoria Pendragon VII. These are my kin and comrades."
"My name is Weiss Schnee, and this is my betrothed Jason Todd. Why are you here?"
"We were sold into slavery and given a choice. Fight or mine."
"Were you given a choice of who you would fight?"
"No. We were told that we would fight each other as entertainment. We laid down our weapons rather than fight and were sold as miners to the Schnee Dust Company."
"I am very sorry." Weiss said.
"Who enslaved you?" Jason asked. "If you tell me, I will have my people hunt them down so they can't do this to anyone else."
"The Church of the Dark Mother. They said that they wanted to see bloodshed, and that we would fight for their entertainment. We refused and ended up here."
"I see." Jason said. "Please excuse me while I commit Religicide." He disappeared into his shadow leaving Weiss alone.
"So," Weiss said. "Here's the thing. We want to unlock your Aura's so you will have some level of protection here. The only problem is that one of the other miners has a Semblance that gives them premonitions. They say that if we unlock your Aura then it will end very badly."
"I see." Artoria said. "The easiest option is to keep our Aura's locked then."
"Yes, however, I don't like that option. I think that you should be able to be safe if you are being forced to work in these deplorable conditions. Here's the thing. You need to stay here, working the Mine for the next seven to eight years. We are playing a long con to try and establish equality for all."
"Except not everyone is equal." A powerfully built man with golden blond hair said. "There are those of us who are greater than others and those of us who are nothing better than mongrels, pawing at the ground for a little extra meat."
Weiss glared at the man. "Who are you?"
"I am Gilgamesh, and I am... was the ruler of a small kingdom before it was destroyed before my very eyes."
"And why isn't your Aura active?" Weiss asked. "I thought a king would certainly have his Aura unlocked."
"I did not need it to be unlocked. My kingdom was untouchable by humanity and Grimm alike. It was a kingdom where humans and Faunus worked together, lived together, thrived together. We were safe."
"Until you weren't." Weiss snipped. "As a king your Aura should have been unlocked so you could defend your people in the event that you WERE attacked. Now look what happened. You are a slave, and where are your people?"
"Dead." Gilgamesh said.
"As for the rest of you? Are you so pitiful that you could not be bothered to have your Aura's unlocked until it was too late?"
"How dare you!" Gilgamesh snapped.
"You do not want to play this game." Weiss began. "If you play this game, you will lose."
"What game?"
"The 'my dick is bigger than your dick' game." Weiss snapped. "I can assure you that mine is bigger."
A booming laugh filled the Mine. "I like you girl. You are a proud warrior, Queen."
"Thank you." Weiss curtsied. "What is your story?"
"My name is Alexander. I ruled over my people, and they feared and respected me. My Semblance is active, but after I let my people to their deaths, I vowed to never use it again."
"Pathetic!" Weiss snapped. "What would your people do if the saw you in such a sorry state?"
"I would assume they would see me as the man who led them to their deaths."
"NO!" They would see you as their leader, general, and ruler! They would want to know who broke you and revolt! Do not let their deaths mean nothing!"
"You are very wise."
"Good. Now, what's your Semblance?"
"I can summon everyone I have ever led in battle."
Weiss looked at him. "That is terrifying."
"I know."
"Why haven't you broken out of here before now?"
"Because. As I said. I have taken a vow to never use my Semblance ever again."
"But you could conquer Mantle and Atlas."
"I know."
"Very well. Does anyone else have active Semblances."
One of the women who looked like the lead raised her hand. "My Semblance is active. It is called Avalon It created a barrier that protects everyone inside while allowing me to cut my way through anything in my path while it is active."
"And you haven't used it, because?" Weiss asked, annoyed.
"I am unworthy to use it."
"Brother's above." Weiss rubbed her forehead. Why was she surrounded by these people? "Do you lot just need me to kick you in the ass?"
"Probably." Geta said. "And I will be more than ready to help."
"Okay." Weiss said. "We are going to unlock your Aura's, but the second one of you steps out of line, that person is killed on the spot. We are trying to improve all life on Remnant, and if you..." She pointed at Gilgamesh. "...keep talking shit about how the few are superior to the mongrels or some bullshit. I will let Jason have you and trust me that you do not want that."
"How terrifying could this Jason be?" Gilgamesh asked before being dropped into his own shadow and coming out moments later with a traumatized look on his face.
"Did that answer your Question?" Weiss asked. "You were only gone five seconds here, but that was two and a half hours in Jason's shadow realm. Do you really want to go back there?"
"No." Gilgamesh said. "I would like to stay here."
"Good. Now. Let's get your Aura's unlocked."
"So." Weiss asked Jason after they unlocked the groups, Aura's. "What did you do to Gilgamesh?"
"Cliff had him clean the Shadow Realms Manor."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah."
"You broke him by having him clean the manor?"
"Yes. The manor has as many rooms as I need, and after he finally stopped trying to escape, he got it done in record time."
"What is record time?"
"Two hours, twenty-nine minutes, and fifty-five seconds."
"He was trying to escape for five seconds?"
"Time is weird in the Shadow Realm. The harder he tried to escape; the less time passed."
"Weird."
"Yeah."
There was a commotion and Lyyme was shouting and covering the Mine in sand before killing a person before the entire Mine erupted into Chaos.
"Let's go." Jason said as he and Weiss jumped into action in order to stop the fight from becoming an all-out slaughter.
After the battle, sixty-five of the four hundred- and forty-six-person group had been killed off, including one of the Artoria's.
"Well then." Jason said. "Do you think that they learned their lesson?"
"Don't know." Weiss said. "Let me check. Hey Gilgamesh! Are you going to cause trouble again?"
"No." Gilgamesh said. "Cleaning the Manor with a toothbrush was punishment enough."
"Good." Weiss said before turning back to Jason. "I think we're good."
"Good. Now. Let's call it a night."
They looked out at the group and felt bad that they had killed so many, but they were too dangerous to be kept alive. It was better this way.
"Hey Shimm!" Weiss called. "Are you okay to take over?"
"Troublesome." Shimm snorted before waving at Weiss and Jason. "Yeah. We've got this under control. We've got Lyyme, Karo, and Geta. We should be fine."
"Alright. See you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow, Miss Schnee."
"Stay out of Trouble Gilgamesh!" Weiss called out.
"I will." Gilgamesh said before Jason and Weiss left the Mine for the night, going their separate ways.
Present day.
Arthur Marigold.
Weiss sat in the parlor with Jacques and the... Marigold family. She shuddered, and she could sense Arthur Marigold smile a predatory smile in her direction.
'Weiss?' Jason asked across their bond. 'What's wrong?'
'Jacques brought the Marigolds over today to try establishing a marriage with them.' Weiss sent before she heard glass shatter, and commotion across the bond.
'Ladies, gentlemen, nobi's.' Jason said across the bond, meaning that his words and intent were the same. 'I have to go. HR just sent me a message saying that this is the third time an individual has sexually harassed an employee. If you will excuse me so I can go deal with the problem. I shouldn't be gone for more than ten minutes, but if I go over the ten minutes then Cliff will break out the expensive refreshments. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.'
Jason appeared in Weiss's shadow and waited, like an ambush predator waiting to strike.
"So, Arthur." Jacques asked. "Why do you want to merge our two companies?"
"Do you have any idea what Marigold international could do for the Schnee Dust Company?" Arthur asked. "We could brand your Dust as the best and force Todd Import/Export to close. That and Weiss will make an excellent Wife."
"For Henry, yes?" Jacques asked, as if the bastard cared.
"Of course." Arthur smiled a twisted smile, and Jason barely managed to stay in control.
"Then I think we can get this marriage off, as soon as Weiss comes of age."
"We can't wait." Arthur said, standing up and both Weiss and Jason saw the bulge in his pants. Jason was going to enjoy breaking him.
They walked Arthur and Henry to the door and Jason jumped out of Weiss's shadow and into Auther's. Once the door was closed Jason dropped Arthur into his shadow and dangled him upside down.
"Do you know how long it takes for someone to die while hanging upside down?" Jason asked Arthur.
"What?!" Arthur panicked when he heard the voice but couldn't see anyone.
"I asked if you knew how long it took for someone to die from all the blood rushing to their head from hanging upside down?" Jason asked again. "I'm pretty sure that you don't, so let me tell you. It takes thirty minutes. Thirty minutes for the blood to rush to their head, crush their brain under all of the pressure, and cause their head to explode. I bet I can beat that record by at least five minutes. I'm going to try and do it in twenty."
"Who are you!" Arthur demanded, terrified.
"I am the person you pissed off. You see, Weiss is mine. I don't mean that as in I own her. I mean that she is mine, and I am hers. You want to defile what is mine. I won't let that happen. You disgust me, and so to show my disgust with you, I am going to break every bone in your body in the hopes that you will die from you blood rushing to your head in twenty minutes or less. If you die from the pain, I lose."
"Do you let me go if you lose?" Arthur asked hopefully.
"Sure. I'll let you go if I lose. You'll be dead either way."
Arthur realized the situation he was in and began struggling.
"Yes, good. Struggle! That will cause the blood to pump faster and you will die quicker!"
Arthur stopped. "What will it take for you to let me go?"
"Nothing you can give me will cause me to let you go. You deserve this."
"What did I ever do to you?"
"You wanted what was mine!" Jason shouted, breaking one of Arthur's toes.
Arthur screamed in pain as he felt his smallest toe bend in a direction it shouldn't have been able to until it broke.
"You lusted after Weiss, I don't know how long you lusted after her, but that was your first mistake. You disgust me! If it wasn't for Weiss asking me not to kill Jacques then I would have killed him years ago, but she needs him. You on the other hand. You have been on my shit list for a while now."
"Why! What did I ever do to you!?"
"You wanted what was mine! Weiss is mine! I am hers! We are each other's, and you wanted to touch her with your perverted hands! You wanted to slather your perverted tongue over her body! You wanted to put your perverted dick inside her no matter how much she struggled against you! You wanted her to struggle! That's how you get off isn't it? When your victims struggle underneath you as you force your perverted seed inside them. That's what you want, isn't it! You want that, don't you! That's what you want to do to Weiss! Isn't it? ISN'T IT!" Jason shouted, punching Arthur in the face, breaking his nose and two of his teeth causing blood to gush everywhere. "Damn it." Jason said.
Arthur was crying.
"Why the fuck are you crying!"
Arthur sobbed harder.
"TELL ME!"
"You're going to kill me!"
"Oh yeah." Jason said. "Because you have no hope for redemption. You won't change, no more than a tiger can change its stripes! You are vile and disgusting! You are on a very short list of people I want to kill and marking you off that list makes me VERY happy."
"How are you better than me then!?"
"You are a disease, and I am the healer carving you out of the organism that is society. I will stain my hands with as much blood as needed in order to cleanse Remnant of your filth. This is a job only I can do."
"Why?" Arthur slurred.
"Because. No one else will." Jason said. "It's getting close to that time. You should be getting a headache right about now."
"Please let me go."
"No. Your blood will cleanse Remnant."
"Please."
"No."
"Please."
Jason looked at Arthur and when it was time, he dropped him out of his shadow. He didn't want that much blood in his Shadow Realm.
Jacques ran to the window when he heard the scream and saw Henry Marigold covered in blood with a headless Arthur lying in front of him. A shadow looked up at Jacques and pointed from the shadow's eyes to Jacques in an "I'm watching you." Gesture.
Weiss looked at the gore covered Henry and sighed a sigh of relief. Arthur Marigold was no longer a problem. She saw a shadow blow her a kiss before disappearing.
Henry Marigold was walking with his father when his father disappeared, and a shadow said: "Don't be like your father or you will end up like him."
"What?" Henry asked before his father's body appeared out of nowhere and his fathers' head exploded covering him in gore, viscera, and brain matter. Henry did the only thing possible and screamed until he lost consciousness.
Todd Enterprises conference room.
Jason walked to the conference room door and waited until it had been eleven minutes since he left before walking in. "I am so sorry." He spoke. "The problem was a bigger problem than I thought it was and I needed to pay compensation to the employee. Again, I am terribly sorry. Please, enjoy your drinks before we continue."
The board enjoyed their drinks before Jason began again.
Lady Olynder.
Weiss sat in the Parlor again. This time with a woman and her son. The woman wore a black mourning dress and a wedding veil. Her son had black hair and cold eyes. Weiss didn't feel uncomfortable, but at the same time didn't feel completely comfortable either.
"Lady Olynder." Jacques said. "Why do you want to merge our families?"
"Because. With the death of my husband, I am not sure how to run our company. If we were to merge our companies, it would give me some peace of mind."
"I see. I think that we can make this work." Jacques said, standing up. "May I walk you to the door?"
"Yes, thank you."
'Jason.' Weiss sent through their bond. 'I think that the next person, someone named Lady Olynder, is some kind of Black Widow. I think that she is using this to kill my family and take over our company.'
'Got it. I'll check it out.' Jason sent back.
Jason walked into his shadow and appeared out the other end, stalking Lady Olynder and her son to their place of work.
"If we can get ahold of the Schnee Dust Company," Lady Olynder said, "We could be the wealthiest, and most powerful family in all of Remnant. No one could oppose us."
"Oh really?" Jason asked, appearing out of her shadow. "Do you really think that you can do that?"
"Who are you!" Lady Olynder demanded."
"Me?" Jason asked. "I'm just a kid from Vale, and I ask that you leave Weiss alone. Don't try to have your son marry her."
"And if I refuse?"
"That's where things get interesting." Jason said. "If you refuse then I will have to commit a hostile takeover."
"What makes you think that you CAN commit a hostile takeover of my company?"
"I'm glad you asked." Jason said, kicking the door open and saying in his loudest voice, "This is a hostile takeover! Grab your shit and get out!"
Everyone looked at Jason and went back to work.
Lady Olynder laughed. "Do you really think that you can get them to stop working? You can't. They are loyal only to me..."
"You have a mass mind control Semblance, don't you?" Jason asked.
"What? How did you..."
"It wasn't that hard. They are moving as one, they don't do anything that you don't tell them. I can put pieces together. You aren't that smart. Did you do the same thing to your son? Is he even YOUR son?"
"What! No! He is my son! How dare you insinuate..."
"Yeah. This is the part where I get bored and punch you in the face."
"What?" Lady Olynder said as Jason slammed his knee into her face, breaking her aura and her nose."
The workers and the boy who may or may not have been Lady Olynder's son snapped out of their hypnosis and looked at Jason. "What's going on?" They asked.
"Get out of here!" Jason shouted. "Get to Atlas Academy, find General James Ironwood. I'll hold her off."
"It won't matter." The kid said. "She'll just hunt us down and keep us doing what she wants us too."
"Really?" Jason asked, crushing Lady Olynder's leg under his foot. "She won't be chasing you for a long time now."
The workers and the kid ran for Atlas Academy.
"Now." Jason said, cracking his neck and knuckles. "Let's make sure that you can't hurt anyone else."
Atlas was filled with agonized wails. When the first people arrived to see what had happened, they saw Lady Olynder writhing on the ground with a bloodstained veil covering her face, with blood marking where her eyes were.
The Ace Ops ran over and saw the scene. They were horrified and reported to General Ironwood.
General James Ironwood was in his office working when a guard knocked on his door. "Come." He spoke.
"General Ironwood." The guard said. "There are people who said they were told to come see you."
"Send them in." Ironwood said.
The guard sent them in, and Ironwood was shocked to see the group.
"General." A foreman said. "We came to tell you that Lady Olynder has been keeping us hostage under her Semblance."
"What?" Ironwood asked, horrified. He rose to his feet and walked to the guard. "Have Lady Olynder brought to my office."
"It's too late General." Winter said. "Lady Olynder has been mutilated. Her leg was broken and her eye's gouged out."
Ironwood activated his Semblance and pulled out his Scroll and held it up. "I need to talk to you."
Jason appeared out of Ironwood's shadow. "General?" he asked.
"Why did you do it?" Ironwood asked in one hundred and fifty percent done tone.
"I did what I had to." Jason said. "She was a threat; I removed that threat."
"You did so by taking the law into your own hands."
"If I hadn't, she could have gotten away and turned everyone in Atlas into her own personal army. Sorry for stopping the enslavement of your entire Kingdom."
"If you break the laws of the kingdom of Atlas, I have every right to put you in jail!" Ironwood snapped.
"What prison can hold me?" Jason asked.
"It doesn't matter if it can or can't hold you, I have an obligation to uphold the law!"
"By your own law." Jason said, taking out a book titled Atlesian law. "Atlesian law page 19 section 2 subsection 2. If a civilian(s) is/are in harm's way, a Hunter or Hunter-in-Training may use lethal force to defend said Civilian(s). By your own law I was in the right." Jason said.
Ironwood nodded. "I see. Then the law is the law. You are free to leave."
Jason left through the door while the crowd parted.
"General!" Winter snapped. "He is not a Hunter or Hunter-in-Training!"
"That's where you're wrong Schnee." Ironwood said as he watched Jason leave.
Edgar Markov
Jacques looked at the Markov Family, it was a rather large family, and it would bring the Schnee Dust Company into a new Era. "Edgar. What makes you think that merging our families will offer you?"
"I have any number of children who will make your daughter happy."
"What else?" Jacques asked. "What do you bring to the business?"
"I bring years of business sense and assets that will make the Schnee Dust Company great again."
"I think that we can merge our companies together."
"Excellent." Jacques said, standing and extending his hand for Edgar to shake.
Edgar shook Jacques' hand and led his family from the parlor outside and headed home.
'Did you hear that?' Weiss asked Jason across his bond.
'Yeah. This Edgar Markov guy sounds like he's not a terrible person. It sounds like one of his kids could make you happy, if I hadn't already taken that job.'
'What are you going to do?'
'I'm going to tell him to fuck off... politely of course.'
'Okay.'
'Call you when it's done.'
'Okay.'
Jason followed Edgar only for Edgar to confront him.
"Why are you following me child?" Edgar asked.
"I need to ask you to leave Weiss alone. She is already spoken for."
"Then why is Jacques attempting to merge two families through the marriage of his daughter?"
"Because Jacques has no honor." Jason said.
"What do you mean child?"
"Weiss has been trying to save the Schnee Dust Company, and Jacques is trying to marry her off in order to get her out of the way."
"I see." Edgar said. "My experience gives me the knowledge to know that you are not lying, and so I will respect your request."
"So, you will not merge your company with the SDC?"
"No. I will send a letter to Jacques declining his offer."
"Thank you." Jason bowed.
"Give me a proper Warriors handshake, child."
Jason gripped Edgar's forearm, and Edgar gripped his.
"If you need me, I will be there." Edgar said. "Just call my name and I will be there."
"Same to you." Jason said.
Edgar looked at Jason. "You are a child, and yet I know that I could rely on you if I need to. Why is that?"
"I am Red, I am Jason Todd, I am the Alpha Faunus; Take your pick."
"Wait." Edgar said. "You are the Alpha?"
"Yes."
"Are you helping the Faunus in Atlas?"
"Yes. Weiss and I are."
"I cannot openly support you and miss Schnee, but I will offer my advice if you need it."
"Thank you." Jason said. "I have things to attend to. I will see you later."
"I bid you good day." Edgar said, leading his family away.
Jason disappeared into his shadow and returned to Vale before calling Weiss.
"Hello?" Weiss asked.
"Hey. I talked to Edgar; he's going to send Jacques a letter telling him to stop being such a dick."
"What about us?"
"He doesn't want anything to do with Jacques because he has no honor."
"Okay. Thank you. I wish I could do this, but I have an appearance to keep up."
"Let me do this." Jason said. "Let me do this one thing for you. You take on so much of Atlas by yourself, the least I can do is this. Let me do it."
"Why?"
"Because. You are mine, let me take care of you."
"Fine, but only if you let me take care of you."
"Okay," Jason said.
"Anything else we need to talk about?"
"Not unless you want to talk about something... or do something."
"I'm hanging up now." Weiss said, hanging up.
Sal I. Vation
Jacques sat in front of the man and his son. "Sal, may I call you Sal? What exactly is it that you offer my family from this merger?"
"W-we-well." Sal said. "M-my family owns the largest food plant in all of Remnant. W-we-Weiss would never know hunger, and we would strive to make her happy. S-sh-she would know as little sadness as possible."
"I see." Jacques said. "Unfortunately, something has come up and this meeting is over, we will contact you if you meet our requirements. Please see yourselves out."
Sal and his son left, and once they were gone Jacques began grumbling. "How dare he think about making Weiss happy!" He grumbled.
Weiss called Jason. "Don't attack Sal. He's a genuinely good man. Jacques sent him away because he was too good for me."
"So, what do you want me to do? Do you want me to buy stock in his company?"
"I think it would be nice to support him since Jacques is a complete asshole."
"Okay. I'll pay him a visit later. He's throwing a party. Think I'll stop by."
"So long is it's not a "Visit"." Weiss said.
"Don't worry." Jason said. "I won't pay him a beating. He sounds like a good guy, he definitely has good taste... for his son, I mean."
"He is, and he does. His son seemed to be very modest and meek, like his father."
"Good to know. I'll let you know when I'm done."
"Okay." Weiss said before hanging up.
Sal I. Vation company party.
Jason walked into the party and immediately knew that something was wrong. Looking around he saw a group of men walking around the perimeter. He could smell their intent and dropped them into his shadow.
He saw two men walking towards Sal and walked over to them, grabbing their shoulders and pulling them down to his level. "I hate that you guys are so tall." He said before slamming them into each other before throwing them into his shadow. "Sal." He spoke. May I call you Sal, or should I call you Mr. Vation? Lord Vation?"
"M-Mr. Todd." Sal said. "W-w-what are you doing at my humble company?"
"Weiss called me and told you that Jacques spoke to you about merging your companies through a marriage between your son and Weiss."
"Y-yes. Unfortunately, I don't think that he wants to merge our companies."
"That is not his true goal."
"I-it isn't?"
"No. He's looking for someone who will punish Weiss."
"W-w-what? Why?"
"Weiss is trying to make things better for Atlas and Mantle, and Jacques just wants to watch the world burn."
"W-why?"
"Because he wants to control all of Remnant, and Weiss standing against him goes against that."
"T-t-that's terrible. Is there anything I can do to help Miss Schnee?"
"Yes. you can be an ally. Unfortunately, Weiss is already betrothed to me."
"T-t-then why is Jacques trying to marry her off to other suitors?"
"Control." Jason explained. "Jacques wants to control all of Remnant, including who is daughter marries."
"T-t-that's horrible."
"Jacques is a narcissist with sociopathic tendencies." Jason explained. "At least I think he is. My therapist would know."
"T-t-that's horrible."
"Yes, yes, it is."
"Father." Sal's son, Ino, said.
"Y-yes son?" Sal asked.
"I was wondering if now would be a good time for the reveal?"
"Y-yes." Sal said. "P-p-please join us." He nodded at Jason.
Jason looked at Ino and could smell it. Ino was not like his father. He wasn't meek, mild, or modest. He was cunning and ambitious. Those were admirable traits, when used correctly. Ino wasn't using them correctly. He was using them to manipulate his father, and he bet that his Semblance had something to do with that. He activated a Semblance that he hadn't tried before and was interested in what it did. Activating 'Nerve' he watched as Ino shuddered and Sal fell to the floor gasping.
"M-Mr. Todd." Sal gasped. "P-p-please, stop my son. He's had me under his Semblance's Influence and running the company the way he wants to. Fortunately, it needs to go through a series of inquiries before it can make any actual headway, so he hasn't made any drastic changes, but he has been trying to get me to sign over the company to him."
Jason looked at Ino and dropped him into his shadow. "I will deal with it." Jason said. "Please, enjoy the party until I get back."
"T-t-thank you, but please. Do not hurt my son."
Jason nodded. He would honor Sal's request seeing as Sal was a genuinely good man.
Jason dropped into his Shadow Realm and looked around at the men and Ino Vation. "You're real lucky your dad asked me to not hurt you." Jason told Ino. Otherwise, I would break every bone in your body."
"Why!" Ino demanded. "Because you have a soft spot for my pathetic excuse for a father!? I was going to put Typhon International on the map, get a smoking hot babe for a wife, and be rich while having the best sex of my life! Then he had to ruin everything!"
"First..." Jason said, punching Ino in the stomach. "...Weiss is mine and you can't have her."
Ino coughed up the food and drink he'd had at the party before holding his stomach.
"Oh please. That was just a love tap. Second..." He kneed Ino in the chin knocking him to the ground. "...Your dad is a good man, and loves a piece of shit trash fire like you, and I have no idea why because I've only known you for five minutes and I want to put you out of my misery and your dad has lived with you for... How old are you?"
"E-e-eighteen." Ino gasped out.
"Oh, gross. Weiss is only twelve! You piece of shit trash fire! You disgust me! Third..." Jason kicked Ino in the dick hard enough to send him flying, but not do any permanent damage, shadows were so convenient for that kind of stuff. "...Sexualize my wife again and I will kill you, I don't care how much your father loves you, I will take his wrath. I could feel it under his control after I knocked him out of your control. Your father is a terrifying man and I respect him for having the control to not beat your ass like a fucking carpet."
"Finally..." Jason picked Ino up by his throat and held him in the air. "...The next time you think about doing something stupid like this I want you to remember these words. "You'll never find the body is such a boring threat. A better threat is 'You'll never stop finding the body.', or my personal favorite: 'They'll be finding body parts of you for at least four months, and you'll still be alive for three of those months.'. Do you understand the sheer magnitude of who the fuck you have pissed off? I am Jason Peter Todd, also known as Red. I will do things to you that are so illegal that not even the Mistralians would do, and the Vacuans would romanticize into an art form. So, let me ask you. What are you not going to do?"
"I won't go after Weiss Schnee." Ino said.
"That's a start. What else?"
"I will respect my father."
"Anything else. I won't do anything stupid ever again."
"What! Else!?"
"I won't sexualize Weiss."
"Good." Jason said, kicking Ino out of his shadow and to his dad's feet. "Anyone else?" Jason asked the men he'd dropped in earlier.
"Ventilate this kid!" One of the men said, drawing a gun on Jason.
"Ventilate?" Jason asked. "Someone needs to lay off the old movies."
"Shut up!" Another thug shouted.
"I wasn't given any orders to not hurt you." Jason said, dodging the gunfire. "That means I can go all out on you. He grabbed the men by their shadows, holding them in place. "Stay there until I come back. You won't be able to move, scratch your nose, let alone your ass, and you won't ever die of dehydration or starvation. You'll just be forced to stand there until I think you've had enough. Goodbye." Jason said, leaving his Shadow Realm.
Sal's party
Sal watched Jason and Ino disappear into the shadows before Ino was back on the floor in a heap, sobbing. "Please don't kill me!" He sobbed. "Please! I won't do it again!"
A second later Jason appeared out of the shadow and looked at Ino before looking back up to Sal. "As promised, I didn't hurt him."
"T-t-thank you." Sal said. "I will deal with my son."
"Please remind me to never get on your bad side." Jason said. "Also, I have a present for you." He handed him a piece of paper."
Sal looked at it and was shocked. "Y-you bought forty-nine percent of my companies' stock?"
"Yeah. I thought that it would be nice consolation prize for not getting Weiss. You do have good taste in Daughter-in-Laws, but unfortunately your son was more interested in the physical aspects of a relationship with Weiss, and I had to tell him that he couldn't have her because she was already spoken for."
"I see. Thank you."
"You're welcome."
"P-p-please leave. I must discipline my foolish son."
Jason nodded and left as Sal activated his Semblance and Ino's sobs quieted.
Jason shuddered as he realized that Sal was one of the few people on Remnant that could kill him.
Lord Kudo
Jacques looked at the man sitting across from him. "Lord Kudo. I hope that we can talk about perhaps merging our two companies through marriage."
"No." Lord Kudo said. " I already have a fiancée I am devoted to. Find someone else."
Jacques watched as Lord Kudo rose and left his house. He gritted his teeth and ranted and raved and raged as one of his best options walked away.
Jason and Weiss were walking in Atlas when they saw a man with ash-blond hair tied in a ponytail with purple ribbon, and pale blue eyes. walked through the streets of Atlas with a woman on his arm. She had silky black hair and a purple-pink eyes that captivated those who looked into him.
They four stopped and looked at each other.
Jason and the man looked at each other and knew right away that the other was dangerous. They would do whatever it took to keep those under their care, their fiancées especially, safe no matter the cost.
Weiss and the woman looked at each other and knew without a shadow of a doubt that the other loved their partner's more than life itself.
The two couples went their separate ways, Jason and Weiss heading back to Schnee Manor, and the other couple heading back home.
Miyo looked at Kiyoka and spoke. "She loves him very much. Even though they are only twelve, It feels like they are older than that."
"Yes." Kiyoka said. "I got the sense that he would kill anyone who tried to harm her. Very dangerous indeed."
"What are you going to do?"
"He is not a threat to us. I will leave him be."
"Okay."
Kiyoka thought about the boy. Why did he feel such a dangerous presence from a child?
"Well?" Weiss asked. "What do you think?"
"He's not a threat." Jason said. "Not to us at least. If I were to fight him though..." Jason gulped.
Weiss saw that correctly, right? She saw Jason gulp. "What?"
"He is incredibly dangerous. In the past five weeks I have run into three people who I would have a hard time subduing, much less surviving in a fight against. Sal and Lord Kudo are two very dangerous people that I would very much not like to fight. Sal's Semblance is terrifying. He keeps it under tight control, and never uses it unless he needs to, and Lord Kudo..." Jason shuddered. "Lord Kudo is a threat without his Semblance. If anything happened to Miyo... I would not like to find out, and I don't even want to think about how strong Edgar is."
Weiss felt cold sweat run down her spine. If Jason showed someone respect that was a feat all on its own, but for Jason to be scared of not one, but three people in five weeks. She was terrified of them. "Do you know what Lord Kudo's Semblance is?"
"No, but it has something to do with Dust Manipulation."
"And he doesn't need it to be a threat to you?"
"No. Granted I could still take him, but it would be a fight to the death."
Weiss gulped.
"Let's be grateful that we are on the same side, more or less."
"Yeah." Weiss said.
The two made their way to Schnee Manor before Jason disappeared into his shadow.
Harold Blackjaw
Jacques had to keep his laughter to himself when he saw Harold Blackjaw and his son Brock Blackjaw. Brock was massive, and he looked like he would be the perfect husband to keep Weiss in her place. "Harold. When can we make this official?"
"Not so fast Jacques." Harold said. "What are you going to do for my company if we merge our companies."
"Name it, and it's yours."
"Very well. I will have a contract written up and sent to you by the end of the week."
"Excellent." Jacques said, holding his laughter until Harold and Brock left. He laughed and looked at Weiss. "You won't be so rebellious as Brock's Wife."
"You do realize that he would kill me on our wedding night, right?" Weiss asked, horrified.
"You won't be my problem then." Jacques said.
Weiss had to keep Jason from jumping out of her shadow and killing Jacques. It was difficult when she wanted him to do it too.
"You are free to go daughter." Jacques laughed and danced around the parlor. His problems were almost over.
Weiss had to physically restrain Jason when he jumped out of her shadow and tried running for Jacques. "If you want to beat someone to death, go take out Harold and Brock." She hissed.
Jason nodded and disappeared into her shadow, appearing out of Brock's shadow and punching him hard enough to crack the ground.
"What!" Harold demanded. "What's going on?"
"This is a hostile takeover!" Jason bit out. "Sell me your company, or I get Hostile!"
Harold looked at Jason and laughed a great booming laugh. "Why would I give you, my company."
"Do you have any idea why Jacques is trying to marry off Weiss?" Jason asked.
"I don't care. As soon as she marries Brock, I will control the SDC and Brock will have a wife, it doesn't matter anymore than that."
"Jacques planning on Brock killing her on their wedding night! Do you have any idea how absolutely massive your son is compared to her!"
"Whether she survives or not is not my problem. If Brock can't control himself, he doesn't deserve nice things."
Jason's body went slack and the Atlesian air dropped ten degrees. "You brought this upon yourself when you called Weiss a thing. She is not a thing!" Jason moved quickly and kicked out at Harold who caught his leg in a massive fist. Jason broke his leg to get free and brought his other leg down on Harold's head, sending him to the floor, shattering his Aura and breaking his teeth. He grabbed Harold's hair and picked him up. "Now. Let's try this again. This is a hostile takeover. Sell me your company or I get hostile."
"This... isn't... hostile?" Harold asked.
"You haven't seen hostile yet." Jason said only to be grabbed by his head and slammed into the ground hard enough the crater it.
"T'ink youse can mess wit' Brock Blackjaw, youse gots another t'ing comin'."
"Oh really?" Jason asked, appearing out of Brock's shadow before punching Brock in the crotch hard enough to break something, and Brock passed out from the pain. "Now, I've become hostile." Jason said, grabbing Harold. He dragged Harold through the streets of Atlas not caring who saw him. He followed his scent to a building and dragged him up the stairs to his office on the forty-fourth floor. "Now. You are going to sign custody of your company over to me. I will then send it to my lawyers who will cross all the T's dot all the I's, and then they will send it to your lawyers saying that I own them, and everyone here. Am I understood?"
"No! I will never sell my company! Never! I will take control of the SDC, and Brock will marry that tramp!"
Jason grabbed Harold's jaw and broke it. "You don't need your jaw to sign your company over to me. Now. Do it, otherwise I'll break other parts of your body."
Harold shook his head and cried out in pain when his jaw ached from the pain.
Jason broke his left leg. "Do it now."
Harold shook his head again, and Jason created a shadow clone of Harold who signed the appropriate paperwork while Jason held the real Harold back so he couldn't intervene, forcing him to watch as his company was signed away to someone who he didn't know and was powerless to stop.
"There." Jason said, sending the shadow clone to his lawyers to take care of things for him. "This all could have been avoided. I may have even let you keep your position if you had listened to me, but no. You had to treat my wife like an object. Call her a tramp. I couldn't forgive you for that. Now your company belongs to me, your son won't be able to produce any heirs for you, and you are dead."
Harold looked at Jason in confusion before Jason threw his chair through the window and shoved Harold outside before disappearing into his shadow as security ran in.
Jason walked past a still unconscious Brock being loaded up on a stretcher and for extra insurance he "tripped" slamming his knee into Brock's crotch. "Sorry." He spoke. "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."
"Careful kid." A paramedic said. "Watch where you're going."
"Sorry." Jason cowered away. "I didn't mean to."
"Just be more careful." The second paramedic said. "The last thing we need is you getting hurt."
"Okay. I'll be more careful next time." Jason said with a wave before heading back to Weiss.
Jasper Sewell
Jacques looked at Jasper. "Jasper. Please tell me that you will take Weiss." he asked desperately.
"Of course, Jacques." Jasper said. "Of course. When is the wedding?"
"When Weiss turns eighteen. Please be careful. Everyone I have talked to before you are either dead, out of business, or have declined my offer afterwards."
"Unless I get a good reason to decline, I will take Weiss off your hands. Why do you want her gone so badly?"
"She is going to run the SDC into the ground if she stays. I can't lose my company."
"Very well." Jasper said, leaving.
Jacques held his head. He hoped that Jasper wouldn't back out. He was running out of people to ask, people he trusted anyways.
Jasper walked into his office and walked to his desk when the chair turned around a child was sitting in it, staring at him. "Hello." He spoke. "May I help you?"
"My name is Jason Todd. I run Todd Import/Export, Todd Enterprises, and Todd Tech."
"Should I be impressed?"
"No, but I'm here to make a deal."
"Oh, and what deal is that?"
"Sell me your company. We can either deal or I'll just take it through a hostile takeover. Your choice."
"Oh? Why are you offering me this deal? Are you the one buying out all of the companies in Atlas?"
"I am, and the reason is because Jacques is not an honorable man. Weiss and I are betrothed, and yet he is trying to marry her off to other people."
"Why?"
"He wants complete control over Atlas if not Remnant. Including his family."
"I see. I don't necessarily care that you and Weiss are betrothed. How about I make a counteroffer? Weiss and I get married, we have our wedding night, and then you can have her. I prefer virgins anyway."
"How about this counter-counteroffer?" Jason said. "I just take your company and leave you two Lien... if I don't kill you."
"Why would you kill me? Do you even understand what it means to kill someone?"
"I have killed plenty of people, I don't mind adding you to the list."
"Well, why don't I just tell General Ironwood that you are a murderer? I could, or you could let Weiss and I have our wedding night and take my sloppy seconds."
Jason dropped Jasper into his shadow and dropped him out a minute later. "That was one minute in my Shadow Realm. I could leave you there for an entire day next time."
"No, no." Jasper said. "We can deal. I will sell you, my company."
"Excellent. Now, let's discuss your position in the company."
Jasper couldn't believe it. He was going to stay at his company, but he was going to be the assistant to his secretary, and he had been replaced by a woman who he remembered seeing from time to time. Her name was Iris Winslet. She was married to someone named Graham Law, and according to Jason she was the best one for the job. How had his life turned out this way?
"You probably should get to work." Jason said. "Those letters aren't going to cut themselves out."
"But..." Jasper complained.
"Back to work." Jason said, leaving through a shadow. "And remember. I'll be watching."
Jasper shuddered and went back to work. This was his life now. He would have to write a letter of decline to Jacques later. He hated his life.
Sir Richard Dickenson
Jacques looked at Richard and shuddered. He was his last chance before having to crawl back to Sal or leave Weiss to ruin his company with her ideas. "Richard..." He began.
"Big D!" Richard said. "Sir D is also acceptable."
"Sir... D." Jacques shuddered at the indignity of the man's preferred title. "Every suitor I have found for my daughter has either declined my offer, sold their company, or died. Please. You are my last hope. Take my daughter!"
"Of course!" Sir D said. "Nothing scares my family, and we are stronger than we look. Why, just look at these muscles!" He said, flexing to show truly massive muscles. "By the way. It is okay if this is just a political marriage? My son has his eyes on someone else."
"Fine." Jacques sighed. "So long as my daughter is out of my hair and out of my family's business I don't care anymore."
"Excellent!" Sir D boomed.
Sir D's son looked at Weiss, tapping his fingers together. "Do you like cooking?" He asked Weiss, tapping his fingers together nervously.
"Um... no?" Weiss lied. "Klein does all the cooking for me."
"Oh good." The son sighed in relief, turning to face Sir D. "Dad. I like this one."
"EXCELLENT!" Sir D boomed. "When shall we hold the wedding?"
"When Weiss turns eighteen." Jacques said.
"Sounds like a plan. Now, let us leave son of mine."
"Coming dad." his son said, waving at Weiss.
Weiss waved back.
"I hope this works out." Jacques said nervously.
'I think we are giving Jacques an aneurism." Weiss said across their bond.
'Good.' Jason said back. 'Now. What should I do about Sir D?'
'Let them down gently. His son was pretty cute... in a naive sort of way.'
'Can do.'
'Will you though?'
'That depends entirely upon them. Let you know when it's done.'
'Okay.'
Jason appeared out of Sir D's shadow and was immediately grabbed by Sir D's massive tree trunk of an arm. "Boy! Why are you following me?"
"I want to buy your company. how would you like a raise and benefits?"
"What's the dental plan?"
"Ninety percent coverage." Jason said.
"On?"
"Everything."
"EXCELLENT! What's this deal of yours?"
"You tell Jacques to piss off and shove his offer up his ass."
"Why?"
"Weiss is already spoken for."
"THAT BASTARD! TRYING TO MARRY OFF HIS DAUGHTER TO MULTIPLE PEOPLE! I WILL RIP HIS FLESH FROM HIS BONES! I WILL..."
"Can I watch?" Jason asked.
"What?" Sir D asked in confusion.
"Can I watch? Jacques has been a pain in my ass for years, and I want to watch him suffer."
"MY BOY! I WILL LEAVE JACQUES TO DO WITH AS YOU PLEASE! ONE MUST CULL ONE'S OWN ENEMIES AFTER ALL!"
"Thank you."
"You are welcome my boy! Now, let us get wasted!"
"I'm twelve." Jason said.
"No time like the present to start!" Sir D said.
"Okay." Jason said.
Jason, Sir D, and his son were sitting in a bar when Sir D spoke up. "I wish I knew who killed Harold." He said drunkenly. "I want to shake their hand."
Jason extended his hand. "It was me."
"Really? Only ten years old and already committing murder?"
"First off..." Jason began. "...I'm twelve. Second, he wasn't my first kill. My first kill was when I was six and out of self-defense. My first "murder" was when I was ten. I killed my bastard of an uncle because he killed my friend."
"That was self-defense of your friend though! It wasn't murder."
"By that logic, Harold was my first "murder"."
"Splendid! You aren't a man until you have someone else's blood on your hands!"
"Then I am a man, and so is Weiss."
Sir D boomed out with laughter. "You two were made for each other!"
"You have no idea."
"Barkeep!" Sir D Barked out. "Another round!"
"No kids!" The Barkeep shouted back.
"This is no child!" Sir D pointed at Jason. "He is a man!"
"So, he's got I.D. saying that he's sixteen or older?"
"Of course!" Sir D slapped an I.D. on the table, breaking it with his massive strength. "Feast your eyes on this!"
"This is a fake I.D. sir." The Barkeep said. "Please leave. You're scaring away my customers."
"Very well! We will leave and find a more... reputable bar. One that will serve only the manliest of men!"
"Maybe we should get you home dad." His son said. "We have a busy day tomorrow."
"Nonsense Marco! We still have..."
"Maybe we should turn in." Jason said. "Tomorrow is a big day."
"Very well. We will celebrate tomorrow! I will provide the alcohol for our celebration!"
"See you tomorrow." Jason said.
"See you tomorrow!" Sir D and Marco said in unison.
"JINX!" Sir D said, punching Marco in the arm hard enough to send him through the door.
Jason shook his head and went home. He had a busy day the next day.
The next day Jason and Sir D signed the paperwork and drank to their future partnership. Jason was the owner, but Sir D and his family were the CEO and Board of Directors. They would have control over the company but have to run things by Jason first.
Sir D sent a letter of Denial to Jacques saying that he could not accept his offer for reasons he could not mention due to eyes and ears everywhere. Jacques was not going to be happy.
Jacques screamed out in rage. Everyone he had tried to marry Weiss off to was either dead, out of business, both, declined his offer, he'd declined them, or were working for Jason Todd now.
His final chance to get Weiss out of his hair was to ask his rival and hated enemy, Jason Todd.
Weiss was in her room when she heard Jacques scream out of sheer rage. Jason must have convinced Sir D to decline Jacques' offer. Now she just had to convince him to talk to Jason.
Jason walked out of her shadow. "Hey Weiss. Was I drunk last night? I don't remember anything after my first keg stand."
"You were so drunk... Wait, first keg stand? How many did you do?"
"I don't remember. That's why I'm asking you."
"Oh. That explains it."
"Explains what?"
"I was just about to explain to mother that she was going to be a grandmother."
"WHAT!" Jason shouted. "WEISS! WE'RE TWELEVE! WE SHOULDN'T BE PARENTS YET!"
"Just like you shouldn't have been drinking without me." Weiss snipped.
"Wait. You're more pissed off that I went drinking without you rather than I was drinking?"
"I have been stuck with Jacques for the last eight weeks! I think I deserve to get drunk!"
"Weiss!" Willow said. "What's this about drinking?"
"Jason got drunk last night." Weiss pointed at Jason.
"Jason." Willow said, giving him a look that he wasn't sure how to interpret. "You are twelve years old, why were you drinking?"
"Sir D insisted." Jason said.
"Damn it D." Willow said.
"Do you know him?" Jason asked.
"Besides the fact that he's one of Jacques last three choices?"
"Yes?"
"Yes. I know him."
"HOW!" Weiss demanded.
"I am your mother; I am allowed to have some secrets."
Jason and Weiss looked at each other.
"Are you going to marry him after we boot Jacques out?" Jason asked.
"There's an idea." Willow said.
"MOTHER!" Weiss shouted.
Willow waved and left Jason and Weiss alone.
"Don't." Weiss said. "I need to purge the mental image of my mother and Sir D."
"NO!" Jason shouted. "NOW IT'S IN MY BRAIN! I NEED BRAIN BLEACH!"
"MAKE SURE TO SHARE IT!" Weiss shouted.
Willow laughed outside Weiss's door before heading to her room.
Jason Todd
Jacques looked at Jason and sneered inwardly. This boy was the reason for so many of his problems, and unfortunately, he was the last one in Atlas he had yet to try. If this didn't work, he would have to look outside the kingdom or crawl back to Sal.
"Mr. Todd. Thank you for coming today."
Jason looked at Jacques. "Hello Jacques. A pleasure to see you again."
"A pleasure as always Mr. Todd. I called you here today to discuss a merger between our companies, through the marriage between you and my daughter, Weiss."
Jason looked over at Weiss to see her in a sun dress. 'Hello.' He said across their bond. 'You want me to be an asshole, right?'
'Yes. As much of an asshole as possible.'
'You got it.'
Jason looked at Weiss from toes to head, making sure to look as sleazy as possible. "She's a five out of ten."
'I'm sorry!' Jason said across their bond. 'You know that you will always be a twelve in my book, right?'
'Yes.' Weiss sighed. 'I know.'
"So, you are willing to merge companies?" Jacques asked.
"Yes. I actually had my lawyers draw up a contract." Jason nodded and slid a contract across the table towards Jacques, who slid a contract to Jason.
Jason read Jacques Contract and looked up at Jacques. "According to this I would have to sign over complete control of Todd Import/Export, Todd Tech, and Todd enterprises to you as soon as Weiss and I become married."
"And this contract says that I will have to hand control of the SDC over to you."
"How are we going to deal with this?" Jason asked.
"I suggest we leave this to our lawyers." Jacques said.
"Agreed." Jason said.
They handed the contracts over to their lawyers and waited. Their Lawyers handed them revised contracts and waited for them to read through them.
"The revised contracts say that we will Merge the SDC and Todd Import/Export company." Jacques said.
"I will keep Todd Tech and Todd Enterprises." Jason said, making a kissing face towards Weiss who rolled her eyes at him.
Jacques grit his teeth at Jason keeping Todd Tech and Todd Enterprises. He wanted complete control, and he wanted Jason Todd out.
"Does this work for you?" Jason asked Jacques.
"Of course." Jacques said. "Anything for my daughter."
"Then. Shall you plan our Dowery and the Wedding?"
"Of course." Jacques said. "Of course."
"Excellent. now. May I talk to my wife to be. I would like to establish the rules of our relationship."
"Of course." Jacques smiled when he saw the look of anxiety on Weiss's face.
Jacques and the lawyers left the room, and Jason looked at Weiss. "Hey." He spoke. "I can't believe we did it."
"Not yet." Weiss said. "We have to play these roles until we get to Beacon."
"It's going to be so long."
"We can make it. We have to."
The door opened and Jason picked Weiss up by her ponytail. "And just so you don't forget who's in charge..." He said, dropping her on the couch and looked at Jacques. "Oh. I'm sorry. I just wanted her to know her place."
"No." Jacques said. "Please. Continue."
Jason backhanded Weiss and left the room, having to keep himself from killing Jacques. 'I'm sorry.' He sent across their bond.
'Don't be. You did what you had to.' Weiss sent back.
Jacques looked from Jason to Weiss. "I think we found the right husband for you." Jacques said. "Someone who won't put up with your attitude."
Weiss held her face where Jason had struck her and cried.
Jason cried as he walked away and shook from his self-hatred. He'd gone too far. He'd do everything he could to fix it.
That night.
Willow knocked on Weiss's door and waited for Weiss to invite her in. "Are you alright daughter?" Willow asked. "You haven't been the same since you and Jason talked to Jacques. Did everything go okay?"
"We played the game, but I haven't been able to contact Jason since. I've tried calling, texting, video calls, shadow travel, shadow communication, and nothing works. I can feel his soul in anguish, but he won't let me help."
"What happened?"
"We played Jacques like we planned on, and to do so, Jason acted like the abusive boyfriend that Jacques is looking for. He pulled me up by my ponytail and backhanded me."
"HE DID WHAT!" Willow demanded.
"Not for real. He used his shadow, and we used our skills as Hunters to make Jacques think that he did. He never actually hurt me."
"How?"
Weiss used her Shadow Arms to mimic what Jason did. She used one arm to grab her ponytail and used other arms to push her up as the hand pulled her ponytail up.
"Oh." Willow said. "That is very... wow."
Weiss made her Shadow Arms disappear and then had one reappear to show her mother how Jason had backhanded her. She had the arm move fast once before Weiss dropped on her bed.
"WEISS!" Willow shouted.
"I'm fine." Weiss said. "I will show you in slow motion." She made the arm move again, in slow motion, and Willow watched as the arm moved, brushing past Weiss's face with nearly no room between the hand and Weiss's face. Weiss dropped to her bed to complete the illusion.
"Why is Jason upset then?"
"Jason doesn't like hurting me, and even though this is more or less pretend, the mere thought of hurting me makes him sick."
"Oh. I see. Would you like me to try getting him here?"
"Yes." Weiss said.
Willow looked at her shadow and shouted. "JASON PETER TODD! GET OUT OF MY SHADOW THIS INSTANCE!"
Jason appeared out of Willow's shadow and looked at her. "No matter what you do to me, it won't be any worse than what I've already done to myself."
Weiss grabbed Jason and held on with a death grip. "You aren't leaving until you have forgiven yourself." She spoke.
"I'm sorry." He spoke.
"Sorry for what?" Weiss asked, confused.
For... for hurting you."
"You didn't!" Weiss snapped. "You didn't hurt me. You are just overreacting to everything ya drama queen. Now. You are going to stay here, we are going to watch Mean Girls, eat snacks, and drink nonalcoholic drinks. Do you understand?"
"Yeah." Jason sighed. "Wait. you actually WANT to watch Mean Girls?"
"Yes. You are feeling down and it's the one movie I know can pick you up."
"I'll leave you to it." Willow said, leaving Weiss's room. She trusted them not to do anything they ought not to do.
Weiss pulled snacks and drinks out of her shadow before setting up her Scroll and her and Jason laid on her bed, watching Mean Girls until Jason fell asleep.
Weiss put the drinks and snacks away, cleaned off her bed, pulled Jason under the covers, it was a testament to how much he trusted Weiss and how safe he felt that he didn't wake up, before crawling under the covers herself, and the two slept through the cold Atlesian night.
