The treehouse's interior was dimly lit by a jungle-made lamp, casting a warm, amber glow over the scene. Ape, engrossed in a physician's desk reference, perked up at the sound of Robin's Tarzan-like call. He barely had time to react before Robin swung into view, landing gracefully at the entrance.
"Ah, Robin, there you are. Where have you been?" Ape asked, closing his book and giving her a curious glance.
Robin, with a casual sigh, placed her arms behind her head. "Oh, just a little mishap with Leon and the Monkeys. But I don't think he will be much of a bother anymore," she said with a confident grin.
Ape's eyebrows rose. "Not if he still wants to keep his prized possession."
Robin's smirk widened. "Exactly."
Ape nodded knowingly. Leon, the lion, had long been a troublemaker. Ape suspected Robin had taken his advice on dealing with the arrogant feline.
"Well, it's about time someone teaches that lion some manners," Ape said, his tone firm.
As he spoke, Ape noticed an unfamiliar but alluring scent coming from Robin. He slipped off his glasses and sniffed the air. "I say, what's that smell?"
Robin laughed lightly. "Oh, I was just at the waterfall. I put on some of the lotions I made."
Ape's eyes narrowed. "Yes, but I don't remember them smelling like gorillas. Were those fur brains there again?"
Robin nodded. "They were."
Ape sighed deeply, shaking his head. "Confound it; how often must I tell them you are not of the same species! There are plenty of other apes for them to mate with."
Robin chuckled, appreciating Ape's fatherly concern even if she didn't see the issue. Growing up without a loving parent until she met Ape, Robin valued his protectiveness. Still, she enjoyed the apes' attention and felt a sense of belonging and acceptance among them.
"Robin, you are the Queen of the Jungle; they should have better respect for you than that," Ape insisted.
Robin smiled warmly. "It's fine, Ape. I don't mind if they want to see me naked. They know I can't be their mate, and since I'm the only human here, is it so wrong that I love to share it with them?"
Ape sighed again, pondering her words. He was protective but also aware of the unique dynamics of their jungle life.
Robin walked to her room, leaving Ape to his thoughts. She reflected on her life as she undressed and settled into her bed of leopard furs. Despite the unconventional nature of her existence, Robin felt at peace in the Bakuvvu jungle, away from the world's troubles and under the care of her ape family.
Unknown to her, the peaceful jungle was about to face a new threat.
Offshore, the Kuja pirate ship Perfume Yuda approached. Marguerite, a young Amazon with short blond hair, a fur bikini, and a snake boa, spied the island through a spyglass. She turned excitedly to her companions, Aphelandra and Sweet Pea.
"There it is! The Bakuvvu!" she announced.
The wise elder Gloriosa warned them about the island's dangers. "The Bakuvvu is a place of savagery. No one can own it without the deed to Ape Mountain," she explained.
Despite the warnings, Marguerite was determined. "So that's where we'll find it?"
Gloriosa nodded. "But no one has ever returned from the island to tell the tale."
Meanwhile, back in the jungle, Robin emerged from the treehouse in a fresh leopard fur outfit, stretching and enjoying the morning. Ape followed, carrying a tray with breakfast.
"Good morning, Robin. I made your favorite breakfast," he said warmly.
Robin smiled. "Thank you, Ape."
Shep, the elephant, interrupted their peaceful moment, charging into the clearing. Ape watched in dismay as Shep trampled his rose garden.
"Shep, no, not the rose garden!" he exclaimed.
Robin, chuckling, slid down a vine to the ground and approached Shep, calming him. "What's wrong, Shep? Do you want to play?"
She nodded eagerly, lifting Robin onto his back and charging into the jungle. Ape sighed, shaking his head as he surveyed the trampled roses.
As Robin and Shep ventured deeper into the jungle, the sense of looming change lingered. The Bakuvvu, her sanctuary, was on the brink of an unforeseen encounter that would test the resilience of its Queen and the harmony of her jungle kingdom.
