"At this point, I'm sure you all know that my supply and demand methods are along the lines of 'do one thing for a bit, forget about everything else, have little to no motivation, finally post something, rinse and repeat.'. Though I have been doing some decent writing and posting over the last few months by doing a co-written story with my buddy koolken, which I am sure some of you have read. If not, it is an Alternate Chronicle called 'Our Hero Academia'. And I'm sure you can guess what it's about by the title."
Sean: "Like most of the stories he co-writes or at least brainstorms with other people on, Kool's own OC by the name of Deion is tagging along on that one. Much like how you've seen Psycho Sin Mafia's OC, Kyle, in Holy Armored Rider."
"Though we're not here to talk about those stories (but if you want to go read them to pass the time if you haven't already, you are more than welcome). No, we're here to give you more Kingdom Hearts content! Going back to our roots and showing you the origin story that continues to be ignored, like everything else I write..."
Sean: "Ahem! Anyways, we would like to start off by telling you, like always, that Drago doesn't own Kingdom Hearts or any of its related properties, Keyblades, attacks, spells, characters, or anything else. Just the characters and other previously mentioned stuff that he comes up with on his own."
"Thanks, buddy. Now, let's get this chapter rolling!"
The only thing I can say to describe the feeling of flying through the air at least 80 miles per hour on a flying armored scooter, it was both terrifying and exhilarating! Terhilarfying? Regardless, this is crazier than I ever dreamed! Though it felt like my head was sticking out of a moving car rushing down an empty highway and it was messing up my hair after I spent the time combing it in the bathroom, but that's neither here nor there.
"Which one is it?" I heard Aqua call, yelling over the blustering winds. I was so lost in thought about flying on an ACTUAL Keyblade Glider that I almost completely forgot what we were doing on it in the first place! Looking down off the side of the vehicle, I spot a school bus heading down a street to the left. Leaning my head up to see what was in that particular direction, I saw the school a bit further in the distance.
"There, about another few kilometers to the left! I think there's a place we can touch down without being seen a few streets away!" I responded. I know we were low enough that we wouldn't have hit any possible air traffic that wasn't a flock of birds, but I was hoping that anyone who might catch a glimpse would mistake us for an airplane or something. With all the possible nutjobs out there, you never know if someone's actively trying to spot UFO's...
"Alright, I'm bringing us in." She sped off in the school's direction. It only took another minute or two before we were passing over the learning establishment and to the area I talked about just a moment ago, behind an apartment complex. Putting the brakes on her acceleration, Aqua stopped the Glider altogether and lowered us onto the ground. I let go of my hug-like grip on her waist and got off, touching back on the ground before she did the same and let the machine turn back into her Keyblade, and then disappearing in a flash of light and flower petals.
I always wondered about that, actually. Each Keyblade had its own unique summon/dispel features. Usually appearing/disappearing in a flash of light, but also accompanied by something else. Terra's had those data-like constructs, Ven's was a small swirl of wind, Riku had a bit of dark light in the mix, and Sora's was just plain light. Plus each equippable Keychain also had its own unique accent to the light. Makes me wonder what Keyblade I would get and what that light would be.
"Um, Sean?" Aqua called to me, waving her hand in my face.
"Huh? Oh, sorry. We should get going." I snapped back to reality and turned around to head out from behind the building, with Aqua following suit. The closer we got to the school though, the more I kept thinking about what my uncle actually did. I know he forged a birth certificate for her and admittance papers. But other than that, I don't know the specifics about how he got her accepted into the school if they also run a full background check... then again, maybe I'm better off not knowing all the illegal ins and outs of the process...
As we walked down the street in relative silence, I couldn't help but notice that Aqua looked a bit uneasy, or nervous. I mean, this is the same girl who faced off against Maleficent, Xehanort, and Vanitas. But then again, she's also regressed in age a few years... and doesn't have many of her memories...
"Hey, is everything alright?" I asked her, a bit hesitantly. She turned her gaze towards me, almost surprised. But then she gave a soft smile and held her arms behind her back.
"Yeah, just thinking about how I'll like it here is all. I can't recall much of my life before you found me, but I know I didn't really 'go to school' before, with normal people. It's just a bit different, you know?"
"Yeah, but I'm sure you'll fit in before you know it." Giving an assuring smile back, she nodded and we kept walking until we came to the crosswalk in front of the school and the crossing guard let us go onto the school grounds.
Walking together towards the school, there were kids pulling up in their own cars, having their parents drop them off, and getting off the school buses that were pulling in. The flow of students was definitely picking up, even though school didn't start for another 20 or so minutes. Anyone who was still in a rush was heading inside towards the cafeteria for a quick breakfast and those who just wanted to enjoy what little free time they had left were chatting with their friends.
Normally we'd have to go to the principal's office to get Aqua's schedule since she's technically 'transferring in', but my uncle had it set up so she's considered a foreign exchange student who's living with my family for the time being... which isn't exactly wrong, just a distorted truth. So they had it mailed to my house. We had a few classes together throughout the day, so I could keep an eye on her at least to make sure she's adjusting well, so that's reassuring.
"Hey, Sean! Over here!" A feminine voice called over to me. I looked through the crowd and saw a girl the same age as me, waving in our direction. She had long brunette hair that went past her shoulders, hazel eyes, and pale skin. She was a bit on the skinny side and dressed in a green t-shirt with flower patterns around the bottom left side, white capris, and blue Converse. This was one of my best friends, Jessie Flora. She was with the rest of our group of friends, who were hanging around the front door.
The first was a shorter boy with short dark brown hair and equally dark brown eyes, wearing an orange t-shirt under a black button up shirt that was left open, blue jeans, and white trainers. This was Lucas Typhoon.
The second was a guy around my height with super short blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing a white t-shirt under a light blue jacket, black track pants, and black sneakers. This was Sam Pearce.
The third was a guy with dark skin, black buzzed hair and black eyes with rimless glasses, wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, jeans, and black sneakers. This was Justice Truman.
The fourth was a guy with short brown hair and light brown eyes, a bit on the chubby side, wearing a white shirt with long black sleeves, black jeans, and brown boots. This was John Clive, who also happened to be Jessie's boyfriend.
Among the six of us was our "Kingdom Hearts Club", as we unofficially called ourselves. We decided to meet up and talk things over with Aqua the first chance we all got, which she agreed to since she wanted to meet everyone who knew about the current situation. Though I also told everyone about the little lie about me finding her and not simply wishing her into our world, which they agreed to keep on the DL.
Walking over to them with Aqua in tow, I waved back. "Hey guys. Aqua, these are my friends that I told you about. This is Jessie, Lucas, Sam, Justice, and John. Everyone, this is Aqua."
"Hi there, it's nice to meet you all." Aqua said, giving a small wave back and greeting them with a smile. They all greeted back and made small talk as time passed by slowly.
"Oh yeah, Lucas. Sorry that I had to blow off you, Elias, and Doran the other day. All things considered..." I said to the shorter brunette, though he waved me off.
"Don't worry about it, I explained that you had something come up so we just hung out without you." He explained.
Two of my other best friends, Elias Frost and Doran Paradox. They aren't really into Kingdom Hearts like we are, and even then Lucas just got into it the past year. Can't say I fault them for it, but that also means we may or may not have to lie to them about what's going on...
"Right, because it's not like you could tell them that the foundation of the world as we know it is likely about to change due to magic and monster attacks." I chuckled lightly, trying to play it off as smaller than it is. Though we all know that if the rest of my wish comes to pass, things are going to get real serious and very soon. And right now, Aqua is our only means of fighting against any dark forces that could show up. Not to say our chances aren't great, but if I had to put it in gaming terms, if she was at Level 60 when she was in the Realm of Darkness, we'd be lucky if she's even Level 10 now.
Lucas nodded at this in realization as well. With a handful of Kingdom Hearts enthusiasts and a single amnesiac Keyblader, we're at a disadvantage. I can only hope that nothing shows up until we have time to figure out if the rest of us are even able to GET Keyblades.
BRRRRRRRRRRING~
The sound of the bell broke me out of my thoughts... I keep drowning everything out today, but I can't help it. There's just so much on my mind. But regardless of what's on my mind, school's starting and we have to cut our conversations short to get to homeroom.
"We'll meet up again later. Sound good?" I asked. I was met with a resounding "alright" by everyone and I took Aqua's hand to guide her inside along with the sea of students so we wouldn't get separated. Everyone else had separate homerooms, so we all went our own ways as we went to class.
As the day went on, Aqua got introduced to the rest of our homeroom class and the day went on more or less as usual. After homeroom, we both had math class, followed by English. We got split up for our third class, and for some reason, I was feeling dead tired. Thankfully I had a free period so I decided to head to the library and find the biggest book I could before finding a table in a back corner, propping it up, and laying my head on the table. I could hardly keep my eyes open and eventually, they just weighed down and closed shut.
It didn't take long before I completely fell asleep and my consciousness drifted away.
Though once I started drifting, I REALLY felt like I was drifting, like I was sinking into an abyss. Slowly opening my eyes, I could only see black, though it looked like bubbles were blowing past me as I fell. Lifting my head up, I almost couldn't believe my eyes, though they were too tired to look in shock. Drawing closer was a red stained glass platform, and it looked like it had a picture of me on it.
This... this could only be one thing. A Station of Awakening.
As I was falling towards the platform, the image got clearer, it was me, looking off to the side over my shoulder, with a bunch of smaller circles, each depicting my friend's faces on the opposite side. And in the bottom half that took up the rest of the plate looked like Aqua drifting through empty space, with stars scattered around. I couldn't even begin to think about what that in particular truly meant, but then my body slowly flipped upright and my feet touched down on the surface softly. Looking down, and then around, there really was nothing. I didn't even hear the soft opera or acapella music that played in the background during the games. Only the echoes of my feet walking against the platform.
"So this is a real Station. It's a bit bigger than I thought... and if I'm here, that can't be a good sign. It means something bad is coming sooner than I thought."
'Light begets darkness'
My eyes widened and I looked around frantically. I know I just heard a voice, an ominous voice, but I can't tell where it was coming from, or even if it was a masculine or feminine voice. It was just... there.
'The light you brought into this world will attract a great darkness'
"I... I know. I made a wish without thinking of the consequences in the long-term."
'So... will you fight? Will you defend this world against the darkness you invited?'
"Of course I will!" Stomping my foot down and waving my hand to the side, even though I knew I was shouting at nothing... at the very least, I was shouting at my own heart. "I brought this upon myself, so I'll fight. Even... even if I'm just some stupid nerdy gamer who's never so much as been in a fist fight. Even if I'm scared out of my mind, I'll defend this city and this world!"
'Very good. It seems it chose right.'
It? What is 'it'?
'You have chosen the path of the Warrior, and it has chosen you in turn. From the moment you were born, you were meant to fight. This is simply the first step.'
"From the moment I was born? What do you mean the first step? What's going on?!"
'The answers will come to you. Now, awaken from your slumber and prepare for the coming battles. The first shot has already been fired, and it's closer than you think...'
Before I could even ask another question, I could feel my vision going white. Turning around, a door appeared and opened up, sucking me inside as I was basically pulled out of unconsciousness before the door closed shut.
Unaware of what was going on in the Station after that, a reddish purple light flew up from the edge and floated into the center of the platform, swirling around a bit.
'The time has come for you to truly Awaken, the new Warrior who will connect the many worlds.'
"And that's Chapter 3! I felt that since the KH3 hype has been real for the past couple months, especially after we got more trailers during E3, PLUS the release date, this story was in need of an update in celebration of that."
Sean: *breaks down the door* "AQUA GOT NORTED!"
"Yeah... I'm aware. And for everyone else that's wondering, this version of Aqua got pulled out before that happened. No Norting here, I forbid it."
Sean: "Oh... phew."
"But yeah, I have a long weekend for once in a long time from work, so I'm gonna try and pump out more chapters over the next couple days. Maybe more for this, maybe more for some other stories. Regardless of what in particular, there will be..."
Both of us: "CONTENT!"
"So until then, keep an eye out for Chapter 4! And for other updates. Ja ne!"
