Is This The World We Created

Chapter 31

Peter and Harry apparated to London, England. The home of Andromeda Tonks, nee Black. Peter was naturally unaware of the feat Harry had accomplished. It was said to be impossible to Apparate that far, but nothing was impossible for Harry. His magic made things seem so easy to the young man but impossible for others. There would come a time when Peter realized the extent of his powers but it wasn't today.

She'd returned to the only home she'd known outside of the Black family, to which she didn't consider herself a Black. Without her husband buying the property and her daughter's death benefits from the Aurors she wouldn't be able to make ends meet. It wasn't as if Remus Lupin had any available funds for his son. She didn't judge him, not really, but it didn't help this situation that they'd left her in and on her own. She'd never worked a day in her life, as a daughter of the house of Black it hadn't been expected of her, she'd never conceived it. Then she became a stay at home mother, and raised their daughter while Ted worked. Then she'd done something but hadn't made anything of it. Now she couldn't she was raising her grandson.

"It looks normal," Peter murmured, not sure why he felt disappointed but he was. Anxious to return to Beacon Hills, to his daughter. He trusted the pack to make sure that she was safe and well until he returned.

Harry laughed softly, wistful, "It is normal, it's how fifty percent of the magical population life." he explained when he saw the look of utter confusion on Peter's face, "The magical world doesn't have a vast area to populate it, or rather, they have they just don't. The only one truly magical area in all of the United Kingdom is Hogsmeade village."

"A Village?" Peter echoed, dubiously.

Harry grimaced, "Most wizards aren't known for their logic."

"And just how populated is this 'village?'," Peter enquired, as they walked down the path to the average property.

"Honestly? Less than a hundred," Harry told him, "They have properties strewn across the United Kingdom that could house hundreds if not thousands in their land. Just one property of their entire estate, but instead of making money off of it, they're greedy and revere in the status of having such extravagant manors and grounds. To be fair, not all of them are like that, a great many house all sorts of animals and raise them, care for them and even breed them." Recalling what was in the about the author page of the Scamander books.

Peter arched a brow, but he couldn't comment, not really, after all they had a huge swath of land. They certainly weren't building on it, and they had something to hide just as well as wizardkind. So, he understood the need for privacy, to an extent. Wizards didn't need to hide from others of their own kind.

Harry knocked on the door, his own panic and anxiousness getting the better of him.

Peter linked their hands, and squeezed it gently, understanding how he was feeling. He'd felt those feelings the entire time they were looking for his daughter.

Swallowing thickly, "Remus fought so hard so that his son would live in a happier world. Part of me wanted to scream and rage at him that he shouldn't have to grow up without his parents. Without both of his parents. I know what that's like and it wasn't what I wanted for anyone. That he should have left rather than die but I couldn't. It would mock his sacrifice, that and he didn't know his wife had joined the fight until she was dead." A devastated tear ran down Harry's face, sniffling a little, he harshly wiped it away, feeling like a damn baby for his emotions.

Unfortunately, they'd stoically buried them for year after year during the apocalypse, so of course, everything would feel more real and devastating now that they were allowing themselves to process their emotions.

"He knew you'd do anything for his son," Peter said, "Even risk your life. He cannot ask for more than that." Shouldn't have asked for that without permission, but honestly? He understood why he had, Remus Lupin was someone so vastly ashamed of his abilities that Peter would have loathed him on sight. It relieved Peter that he'd never have to see him.

The door finally opened, and Andromeda blinked at the sight of Harry, "Have I forgotten a date we set up for visitation?" not meaning it in a bad way, it was just the way she'd been raised to speak.

"No, but I do need to speak to you," Harry replied, his smile more a grimace, "It's important." He would never do Andromeda the disservice of going behind her back. The only way he'd go through official channels is if Andromeda refused him and he'd let the courts duke it out.

Andromeda glanced at Peter curiously, tense but not hostile.

"Andromeda, I'd like you to meet Peter Hale, my soul mate, Peter this is Andromeda Tonks, Teddy's grandmother." Harry said politely and firmly. "Peter is also a werewolf."

Peter flashed his eyes red at her in proof, so used to people disbelieving his existence.

Not that she was gaping in shock that he was a werewolf, no it was the fact Harry had found his soul mate. It was awe-inspiring, she couldn't believe it, only Harry would have the luck to come across his soul mate. Especially here in the UK of all places, where? Where had he met his soul mate? She had so many questions for them, as she opened the door. "How rude of me, please, come in, make yourself at home. Teddy is in the sitting room." Knowing Harry would want to know where he was.

The eight-year-old shrieked upon seeing his very favourite 'Uncle Harry' as he'd been raised to see him as. Harry was quick to grab the eight-year-old and hug him as tightly as possible. Eyes closed against the tears that wanted shedding. "Oh, I have missed you." He murmured.

Andromeda watched the scene, eyes narrowed as she observed Harry intently. Officially freaking out a little, there was something very different in Harry, it hadn't been that long since he saw Teddy. His demeanour and everything were off. It was as if his life had changed drastically since they saw him last. "Harry?" she asked, warily.

Harry eventually let Teddy down, who unaware of the tension in Harry was quick to go back to his game to finish the level at least and then save it.

"Yes?" Harry asked staring at her.

"What happened? You're…different." She knew something was different she couldn't pinpoint what.

"Yes, something happened," Harry agreed, flicking his wand out, preventing Teddy from hearing anything. He'd learn an abbreviated version, likely the same as what the rest of the children in the Hale pack had learnt.

Andromeda straightened, "May I get you something to eat or drink?" the politeness ingrained her preventing her from just rushing ahead to get the information she so desperately sought.

Harry shook his head, "We're good." He promised her, Merlin he really just wanted to sleep if he was honest.

"Then tell me," Andromeda declared, happy to focus on getting the information now that necessities had been observed.

Thus, Harry did. He told her everything, about magic being exposed, well, supernatural first, then the magical world. The fall of MACUSA, the fall of all magic, the poisoning of the Nemeton, the ground contamination, the war that followed, the surge of sanctuaries that went up to preserve what was left of the supernatural world. The bombs, the war, the hunters, the fall of civilization, and how small bands of supernatural creatures and hunters were left.

Andromeda sat listening, goosebumps enveloping her completely, jaw unhinged, unable to believe what she was hearing. "One…one person put all this in motion?" that was all it took to reveal the magical world? One person? How could this have happened? She felt sick.

"I shouldn't tell you this, you will need to swear never to reveal it," Harry added, before continuing on. Revealing the mass extermination of the hunter families that knew about the supernatural world. To vehemently ensure that this kind of exposure could not happen again, the popping up of the werewolf's own council within MACUSA, with its own department.

"I swear on my magic and life to never speak of this again," Andromeda said, wand out, "So mote it be!" and with that her magic flared brightly, showcasing that magic was holding her to her word.

"So, mote it be," Harry declared, and it flashed brightly once more before tapering out until it faded entirely.

Peter was surprised by her lack of reaction to the mass extermination. Honestly it was a little disturbing, especially coming from a civilian who hadn't been through what they had. Yet she was perfectly fine with it. "I must say, you've taken this…very calmly."

"Which part are you having trouble with?" Andromeda asked, a knowing look on her eye.

"The decision to take care of the hunter problem, you didn't even blink an eye." Peter said, his admiration and confusion bleeding through.

"We are taught about hunters at a young age, wizards and witches like to pretend they hold no fear of Muggles, but they do. It's one of the most ingrained responses in all of wizardkind, except perhaps wizards who have known up loved and nurtured with Muggles. Now those have no compass to measure Muggles on." Andromeda explained, "During the wars with Voldemort, it was one of my biggest fears that magic be exposed on a grand scale to which there was no putting the genie back in the bottle. I always felt it was a silly fear once the wars were over, there was no way magic can be exposed, after all we have people who can obliviate Muggles on mass scales. However, you have just awoken one of my deepest and darkest fears that I don't like to think on in the light of day."

"I see," Peter murmured, respect sharpening and taking shapes.

"There is only one good hunter, and that is a dead one." Andromeda declared; gaze dark as she glanced at her grandson. She'd kill everyone that thought to look at her grandson as if he was not worthy of living because he was a werewolf.

Peter smirked, "Indeed," he murmured, he couldn't wait until she met Chris, as much as he respected the hunter and his daughter...he liked watching him put in his place.

The small property made Peter feel a little claustrophobic. The living room and kitchen was tiny, you could fit both in the Hale mansions sitting room and then some. Even Stiles' home was larger, and it was only a three-bedroom property, this he wondered if it was a one or two bed property. How did she feel comfortable here?

"Thank you for informing me," Andromeda replied, "Honestly, it would have driven me insane trying to figure out what was different with you."

Harry laughed, nodding his head, and she wouldn't have asked again if he denied her.

"You want to spend some time with Teddy? An overnight visit?" she presumed.

"Actually…" Harry started, stiffening, closing his eyes before exhaling "I want Teddy and you to live with me and the rest of the pack in America."

Andromeda gaped at him, unable to form any words at the sheer shock of his statement. He didn't state it like a question, Harry was determined to make it happen.

"You've studied architecture design?" noticing the diploma, Peter noted her reaction to his accent and hid a grin.

Harry's head jerked up, "What?" stunned, "No way!" how could she have kept that a secret? He hadn't seen it before.

Andromeda puffed up proudly, "I did, I finished it just before the war started, I needed something to do and my husband suggested this." She'd only opened the envelope a few months ago, it had been stuck in a box for eight years, since she lost her husband. She missed him so much; she missed her daughter too. It was a gaping wound in her heart that refused to heal, but Teddy made it bearable. She wouldn't still be here without him. Of that, she had no doubt whatsoever.

One little potion and it would have all been over if not for the babe she'd had in her arms when she got the news that her daughter and son-in-law had died in the battle of Hogwarts.

"Why didn't you say anything?" Harry asked stunned, that must have taken her years, admittedly it was during a time he hadn't known her. Like at all, they'd first met when he was what sixteen nearly seventeen and he'd mistaken her for her sister, Bellatrix. A diploma was really difficult, never mind the fact it was from someone without no formal education except wizardkind. Yet she'd managed to get a diploma? Wow, just wow, consider him stunned. He wished she'd told him, he'd been worried about them and how they were going to get by. She'd refused to take any funds from him when he tried to give her any. In fact, there was money coming out of one of his vaults for Teddy monthly, it was there if he or they ever needed it.

"One does not brandish our accomplishments to everyone until they're sick of it. We share it with those closest to us." Andromeda declared, eyes dimming, "It was inside the box with Edwards things, I didn't open the envelope when it came. However, Teddy wanted to know more about his namesake, and I didn't want to disappoint him." thus the box and photos had come out, and the diploma too, and she'd hung it up next to a family picture of all three of them.

Only wizards could see her daughters rather bright head of hair. Everyone else saw her daughter with her father's blonde hair, although truthfully, Nymphadora had been born with a dark head of hair, like the rest of the Black's and grey eyes. He hadn't gotten to see her daughters' true looks since a few days after she was born. She'd change to imitate others, and settled on a look she liked whilst at school.

"You were raised in the wizarding world?" Peter questioned, idly looking around, honestly other than her wand there was no indication of magic in this house that he could see. Even the kitchen appliances gave of the appearance of being run by ordinary means.

"I was," Andromeda replied with a small smile.

"You don't miss being able to use magic so openly?" Peter then asked, glancing at the window with a clear view of the living room. He hated not being able to shift whenever anyone ordinary was nearby that could expose them. He couldn't imagine being stuck like this, not shifting, keeping himself hunkered down and not living his life in case anyone saw. His gaze travelling to the eight-year-old, who was keeping an eye on Harry he noticed, and playing his game.

"I wasn't welcome in most magical areas, Ted and I hardly had enough to get by never mind rent such a place in Hogsmeade village which is a little overpriced." Andromeda declared; she'd never have admitted this when she was younger. She had a lot of pride back then, but had accepted that the Muggle world was far cheaper. She wouldn't have been welcome anywhere else, no company, no person would have taken her in at risk of calling upon the entire Black family upon them.

"Very diplomatically stated," Peter stated, lips quirking in amusement, having reason to suspect she was vastly underestimating the situation. "But should you wish, I would welcome your council in rebuilding my family's manor."

"Adding to the honey pot to make it far entice us to agree to come with you?" Andromeda asked, giving Peter a knowing look.

"It's far better than any other alternative," Peter replied sombrely, giving her the respect she was owed. He wasn't used to people just calling him out on his underhanded or manipulative ways to get his own way. Usually they didn't notice – which he naturally preferred – or just tried to get more out of the manipulation knowing what it was.

Andromeda's face spasmed a little, realizing exactly what Peter was implying. Her gaze flying towards Teddy, and hardening in realization. That they were here to take Teddy presumably to America. She knew thinking about it logically that Harry would win hands down. It had nothing to do with his fame, no, it was the fact he was young, from a good family, if officially adopted he'd be Heir Potter, Teddy would love that, he adored his 'Uncle Harry'. Harry had more money than he would ever need in a hundred lifetimes. She was an old disgraced witch with no funds, no support system. She would lose without anyone having a single reservation.

"I'd never take him away from you completely, but there's only a few more years before he goes to school," Harry said, a grimace of apology on his lips. "I want to be a bigger part of his life. I was foolish to go with the flow, you know, before. I won't lose him again." Grim and determined.

"Shouldn't Teddy have a say in this?" Andromeda suggested lightly, as if her entire life wasn't being upended and scattered all over. Without Teddy she wasn't sure how she'd cope with the endless quiet, without her husband and daughter.

"He is eight-years-old, they should not be burdened with such decisions," Peter stated, flickering towards the boy, before settling back on Andromeda. "The deciding should be up to us." It wouldn't be right if it went belly up the boy would feel the brunt of the blame, not that it would. Peter wouldn't allow that to happen no matter what.

Harry frowned, "I see both your points, but thankfully I'm not going to have to choose. Teddy and you are coming with me." He stated, "You've never asked me how you both died."

Andromeda swallowed, "Do I want to know?" nobody should know their own fate, nobody really wanted to know despite an inane curiosity.

"No, and I don't want to discuss it," Harry confessed, eyes haunted and tortured. "I've seen enough death, my ledger was dripping with blood, which I gladly did to keep my people safe. I'd do it all over again, I am hoping I don't have to."

"Your time in America has truly shown through in that statement." Peter commented irony suffusing him.

"Is it American?" Harry arched a brow, he couldn't be sure where he'd heard it before, perhaps one of the young ones in Sanctuary?

Peter made a thoughtful moue with his mouth, but honestly couldn't say.

"Uprooting Teddy shouldn't be lightly considered," Andromeda pointed out, "Not without his consideration." However, she suspected that Teddy would likely be ecstatic to live with Harry, Teddy adored his 'Uncle Harry' and missed him when he wasn't there.

"Does he have connections here?" Peter asked, genuinely worried, Teddy was a werewolf, if he was connected to those, he considered his family, his pack it might not be the best idea. Not until he had come to consider the rest of the Hale pack his family too. Was his anchor even known?

"They aren't connections as in bonds you share with the rest of your pack," Harry explained, "He has friends, but none so close, wizards and witches tend to keep their children away from people and the public until they start Hogwarts. By then they're considered grown up and intelligent enough not to do any accidental magic or reveal magic itself." Embarrassment-tinged Harry's voice.

Peter chuckled, "Oh, there's a story in there somewhere." He'd look forward to getting it out of his mate one way or another.

"More than one," Harry conceded, a wry smirk on his face. "Alright, we'll ask Teddy but regardless of his answer, you'll both be coming with us." Determined that his godson would be with him and the rest of the pack. There he would have friends; someone he'd be close enough to consider siblings.

Andromeda stared at Harry utterly exasperated, his new forceful personality would take a while to get used to. Despite being a leader, Harry had always been unsure of himself, of his abilities, of just how many people would follow him resolutely. "You found yourself," she said softly, his confidence, his place in this world, it was jarring since it was sudden for her – despite knowing intellectually it was years – but no less amazing to see.

Harry nodded, flicking his hand – not his wand – and the wards he had up died out. Allowing them to hear the game that Teddy was playing.

"Teddy?" Harry called out to the boy quietly, it wasn't as if the boy was far. The house was smaller than the house at Privet Drive.

"Yeah?" Teddy perked up, pausing his computer before facing his Uncle Harry.

Peter was impressed with his impeccable manners; it was good to see that. Although, his daughter certainly wouldn't have any, feral little thing she was right now. She would though given time; he'd make sure of it.

"I mean, yes?" Teddy corrected himself seeing his grandmother's face.

"I'm not going to mince the words, I want to take you and your gran to America, to live with me and the Hale pack," Harry said, "This is my soul mate, Peter Hale, he's the Alpha of the pack back H…in America." Finding it odd not saying 'home' when America had been his home for so long.

Andromeda tutted over the use of 'gran' she might be living Muggle but she didn't like to be so informal. It went against all her training as a Lady of the House of Black. It had been expected of her to marry a Lord and become a Lady of that house. She'd refused the future they'd set out for her, and followed her heart. She'd never regretted it.

"You're a werewolf?" Teddy said, staring agog at Peter.

"Not your kind of werewolf, Teddy," Andromeda explained patiently for the eight-year-old, "Peter is of the kind that can change on whim, and have extraordinary healing powers."

"I didn't expect that information to be known here, but I suppose if anyone has that information it would be the Black library." Harry said surprised.

Andromeda nodded, "The Black library is one of the best in the magical world, even the libraries of the world can't compare. We learned things that would turn the Ministry's hairs on end, there is a reason the Black family was never messed with." turns out they didn't need anyone to mess with them since they were doing a fine job of it themselves.

"I'd love to see what's been written," Peter confessed, mesmerised that they were known here.

"The best thing of all, is that if Teddy is bitten, he will take the characteristics of your kind." Andromeda added, looking rather thoughtful.

"Wait, what?!" Harry stared dazed, "Is that true?"

"Yes, one hundred percent," Andromeda declared, she'd never risk it on a hunch, no. "There are many books regarding the experiments on turning type one Lycan's to type two, easily done since type two came from magical wizards who were bitten."

Peter straightened, a shiver going down his back, breaking him out on goosebumps. "You have information about our origins?"

"It's in Grimmauld Place, that's the location of the library, it fascinated Regulus so much he used to talk my ear off while I was in there and I caught the bug." Andromeda replied.

Harry narrowed his eyes, "Remus?" he mused.

Andromeda sighed, "I am not sure, Regulus was by far the most soft-hearted of us. I know appearances would indicate otherwise. He tried so desperately to live up to his parents' expectations…and he paid it with his life."

"Regulus defected, when he realized what he'd gotten himself into he sought to rectify his mistake by killing Voldemort." Harry explained, nobody but him, Hermione and Ron had known this information. "Along the way he found out troubling information, one he went to great lengths to get, and it caused his death but he did it in hopes of someone defeating Voldemort once and for all. He and Sirius are both heroes the end of the main Black family line didn't die out in shame, they were heroes." Repeating himself because it bared repeating.

Andromeda's eyes filled with tears, but she did not shed them. A small smile bloomed on her face, it was so good to hear that, to know that. Her cousins had been good people, good men, they'd deserved better. So had her daughter, but she'd see them all again, and beg their forgiveness for not being there to help them when they needed it.

"How would you like to come with us?" turning back to Teddy, realizing they'd gotten majorly side-tracked.

"Why?" Teddy asked.

"Lovely, that was Cora's favourite word," Peter muttered, he'd forgotten that stage. "Is her favourite word." Tenses were going to be a pain in the neck to deal with.

"Because I want to be with my soul mate, he has obligations he can't abandon. He has a whole pack that he has to look after. There will be lots of people your age who are part of the magical world, they'd love to meet you if you'd like to go." Harry explained, "You won't have to hide." They'd discuss the whole bite thing later.

"We will live together once the manor is built, but most of us will live in a ranch until that time." Peter stated, speaking to Teddy as though he was a young adult. "There is plenty of space to run around in, and I'm sure plenty of things to keep you occupied. Also, if I have my way, there will be a massive library for all to lose themselves in."

Harry inclined his head at the unasked question, yes, he'd empty out Grimmauld Place before they leave. Perhaps since it would be wizards and werewolves, he could have Kreacher brought along. It couldn't be doing him good in that house all alone.

"You mean I'd stay with you?" Teddy's eyes soared with glee and happiness.

"Yes, you'll stay with me and your gran and everyone else." Harry promised, smiling at Teddy's sudden eagerness, jumping up and down before launching himself at Harry. Harry caught the eight-year-old effortlessly hugging him back. "Oh, I missed you." He murmured.

Teddy laughed, "It's not been that long Uncle Harry!" naturally unaware of what had happened, but there would be a time when he would realize what had happened. The children in the pack knew the basics and thus naturally, Teddy would to as a member of that pack. "Whoa!"

Harry turned to find what had caught Teddy's attention, stunned.

"Wow," Peter said breathlessly, "That's, uh, Derek's wolf form." Down to the red eyes, he reached out but just as he suspected it faded, as if repelled by his touch.

"That little shit," Harry said amazed, not only had Stiles managed to cast a Patronus unaided, but he'd created a voice Patronus…and brought it all the way over here. "I can't believe he did it in one attempt…"

"What is it? Who is it?" Andromeda asked, as Teddy just gazed at the wicked wolf.

"Stiles Stilinski, a Spark."

Andromeda's jaw dropped; goose bumps appeared all over her arms as she gaped. Mouthing the word 'spark' over and over again unable to fathom it.

A/N – well, budge over Harry you're no longer the big bad 😉 kidding just remember that Stiles is older in the body of a child. Harry still bet him in terms of age and magical training 😊 but whether he would be able to do it across country or not remains to be decided 😉 thank you for continuing to read my stories and I hope you enjoy this one 😊 Will they decide to start over on the Ranch leaving Beacon Hills to Derek and Stiles? With the pack spawning two massive territories? With Derek and Stiles and the pack they make coming to the ranch often? Or will we see them in familiar territory before we finish the story? And if you thought it was a bit jumpy, conversations tend to be like that, especially if there are children around but hopefully it didn't get too jumpy for you guys xx R&R please!
