It Was Mermaid to Be!
(AUTHOR'S NOTE: This episode takes place after the previous events of "Close Encounters of the Psychic Kind!")
Narrator: The last time you've seen our heroes – Faith and Mordecai, they were battling against Ghetsis Gropius, who was revealed to have escaped from prison via Hydregion's Hyper Beam. Now with Deoxys kidnapped and wanting to destroy the world, Faith had to do something to stop Daruka from destroying the world in Lexie's final battle.
(The scene shifts to the Terarium, where Faith was in her magenta one-piece swim dress.)
Faith: Why did you have to go to the dark side, Daruka? Why…?

Mordecai: Cheer you, Faith. It's not your fault Daruka went to the Dark Side.
Faith: It's not?
Mordecai: No. It's Team Rocket's fault for turning Daruka evil.
(Faith notices a strange necklace on the seaside dock.)
Faith: What's this?
Mordecai: Looks like one of those necklaces that transforms people into mermaids.
Faith: Awesome!
(Faith puts the mermaid necklace on her neck, and it transforms her feet into a mermaid tail.)
Faith: OMG, I'm a mermaid!

Faith: [reading the title] "It Was Mermaid To Be!"
(The scene changes to show Faith in her mermaid form. She had ruffled straps over her pink straps and a seafoam green mermaid tail.)
Faith: Wow, I'm a mer-eevee!
(Faith looks at her tail.)
Faith: (amazed) This is incredible!
[She swims gracefully, her heart filled with joy as she explores the depths of the Terarium.]
Faith: Whee!
[As the sunlight filters through the water, casting a golden glow, Faith closes her eyes, feeling at one with the magical realm.]
Faith: I belong here.
[The vast expanse of the ocean, stretching out to the horizon where the sky meets the water in a seamless blend of blue hues. Mordecai, an adventurous soul, stands at the edge of the shoreline, ready to embark on an underwater adventure. He's dressed for the occasion, wearing red floral-print swim shorts, and a short-sleeved orange swimsuit tank-top. His feet are adorned with bright orange swim fins, ensuring swift movement through the water. A full-face diving mask covers his face, with an air hose extending from the right side of the mask. An air tank is securely fastened to his back via the air hose, providing him with a steady supply of oxygen for his underwater exploration. Arm straps are attached to his chest, keeping his equipment securely in place.]
Mordecai: (adjusting his mask) Alright, time to dive in!
[With a sense of excitement, Mordecai wades into the ocean, feeling the cool embrace of the water enveloping him. He takes a moment to acclimate himself before diving beneath the surface, his fins propelling him deeper into the azure depths.]
Mordecai: (muffled through his mask) This is incredible!
[As he swims, Mordecai marvels at the vibrant marine life that surrounds him—the colorful coral reefs, the schools of tropical fish, and the occasional glimpse of a majestic sea turtle gliding gracefully through the water. Suddenly, he catches sight of something shimmering in the distance—a figure moving with a graceful elegance that captivates his attention.]
Mordecai: (intrigued) What's that?
[As he draws closer, Mordecai's eyes widen in amazement as he realizes what he's seeing—a Mer-Eevee, swimming gracefully through the water with an air of enchantment.]
Mordecai: (in awe) Wow... A Mer-Eevee!
[He watches in fascination as Faith, the Mer-Eevee, moves effortlessly through the ocean, her presence adding an extra layer of magic to the already wondrous underwater world.]
Mordecai: (smiling) Well, hello there!
[With a sense of wonder and excitement, Mordecai continues his underwater journey, eager to explore alongside Faith and discover the secrets hidden beneath the surface of the ocean.]
Mordecai: So, Faith, how'd you become a mermaid?
[Faith, the Mer-Eevee, pauses in her graceful swim, turning to face Mordecai with a shimmer of curiosity in her eyes.]
Faith: (with a soft chuckle) It's a bit of a magical tale, Mordecai. You see, I found this enchanted mermaid necklace washed up on the shore one day. When I put it on, it transformed me into this hybrid form.
Mordecai: (nodding in understanding) That sounds incredible. I've always believed in the magic of the ocean, but to see it firsthand...
Faith: (smiling) It truly is a wonder, isn't it? The ocean holds so many secrets, so much beauty. I feel like I've only just scratched the surface of what it has to offer.
Mordecai: (gazing out at the vast expanse of the sea) Yeah, it's like every time I dive in, I discover something new, something magical.
Faith: (swimming closer to Mordecai) Maybe that's why we were meant to meet, Mordecai. To explore the mysteries of the ocean together, to uncover its secrets side by side.
Mordecai: (smiling back at Faith) I'd like that. Together, we can dive deeper, reach farther, and discover things we never even dreamed of.
(Mozart's "Horn Concerto No. 2" plays)
[The serene depths of the ocean, where Mordecai and Faith glide gracefully through the water, their eyes wide with wonder as they explore the underwater world. Suddenly, something catches their attention—a massive shape resting peacefully on the ocean floor.]
Faith: (gasping softly) Mordecai, look!
Mordecai: (wide-eyed with amazement) Is that...?
[They draw closer, their hearts pounding with excitement as they realize what they're seeing—a wild Lugia, majestic and serene, lying motionless on the ocean floor, its eyes closed in peaceful slumber.]
Faith: (whispering in awe) It's a Lugia!
Mordecai: (barely able to contain his excitement) I can't believe it... I've only ever heard stories about legendary Pokémon like this!
[They hover above the sleeping Lugia, marveling at its immense size and graceful form. The gentle sway of the water adds to the tranquility of the scene, casting an ethereal glow upon the legendary Pokémon.]
Faith: (softly) It's so beautiful... so peaceful.
Mordecai: (nodding in agreement) Yeah... it's like the ocean itself has cradled it to sleep.
[They watch in silence for a moment, not wanting to disturb the sleeping Lugia. A sense of reverence fills the water around them as they bask in the presence of such a legendary creature.]
Mordecai: (whispering) We're witnessing something truly special, Faith.
Faith: (smiling) Yeah... it's a moment I'll never forget.
(Lugia eventually woke up and happily smiles at Faith.)
Faith: We mean you no harm, Lugia.
Lugia: Lu.
(Faith takes out her Rotom Phone and scans Lugia.)
Faith: Rotom, tell me about Lugia.
[Faith's Rotom Phone chimes]
Faith's Rotom Phone: "Lugia, the Diving Pokémon. A Psychic and Flying type. Lugia is said to sleep deep under the sea, where it was rumored to have arrived on the night of a deadly storm. By flapping the wings on its back, it can create a storm that'll last for 40 nights and 40 days."
Faith: A Pokémon like Lugia must be strong enough for Team Aqua to take control of.
Gorebyss: Gore!
Mordecai: (grinning) You know it, Faith. Let's see what treasures we can find down here.
[Together, the trio explores a chamber filled with ancient artifacts, their surfaces encrusted with coral growth.]
Faith: Check out these relics, Mordecai. They're pretty cool, huh?
Mordecai: (examining the artifacts) Definitely. Reminds me of that time we stumbled upon that old shipwreck.
Lugia: (telepathically) These artifacts hold the stories of generations past. We must ensure their preservation.
Faith: (nodding) Agreed. Let's make sure they stay safe and sound.
Mordecai: You got it, Faith. I'll keep an eye out for any trouble.
(Faith spots a Mega Stone in the sand.)
Faith: What's this?
Mordecai: That's a Mega Stone, an item needed for Pokémon to Mega Evolve. This stone is a Blastoinite.
Faith: Maybe I can show this to Hazel.
Lugia: [speaking through telepathy] I'm sure she'll love this Mega Stone.
Faith: Me, too!
(Suddenly, one of Team Aqua' Sharpedo swoops in and steals the Blastoisite.)
Faith: Not on our watch. Let's stop them!
[With a burst of speed, Faith and Lugia dart towards the Sharpedo, while Mordecai readies himself for action.]
Mordecai: You're not getting away with this!
[Just as the Sharpedo reaches out to grab the Blastoiseite, Faith summons a powerful Water Pulse, creating a barrier between the artifact and the intruder. Lugia swoops down, unleashing a mighty Aeroblast that sends the Sharpedo reeling.]
Faith: That was too close.
Mordecai: Nice moves, Faith!
Lugia: (proudly) We make a formidable team.
[The Sharpedo, thwarted in their attempt to seize the Blastoiseite, retreat back to the Team Aqua submarine, vanishing into the depths once more.]
Faith: That should keep them at bay for now.
Mordecai: Let's make sure they don't come back. We need to keep protecting these artifacts.
Lugia: (telepathically) Agreed. Our duty is to safeguard the treasures of the ocean.
Faith: You okay, Gorebyss?
Gorebyss: Gore!
[Archie, leader of Team Aqua, stood before Faith, Lugia, and Mordecai in the Abyssal Ruins, clad in his scuba gear. He wore a sleek full-face diving mask, allowing him a clear view of his surroundings, and a network of air hoses connected him to his oxygen supply.]
Archie: (adjusting his mask with a smirk) You didn't think I'd come unprepared, did you?
Faith: (eyeing Archie's gear warily) That's quite the setup you've got there.
Mordecai: (grumbling) He's not leaving anything to chance.
Lugia: (telepathically, with a hint of concern) Stay alert, my friends. Archie's equipment indicates he's serious about whatever he's planning.
Archie: (addressing his Kingdra) Time to make a splash, Kingdra!
Kingdra: Kingdra!
Mordecai: What's that? [pulls out his blue Rotom Phone]
[Mordecai's Rotom Phone chimes]
Mordecai's Rotom Phone: "Kingdra, the Dragon Pokémon. A Water and Dragon type, and the evolved form of Seadra. Kingdra lives deep at the bottom of the ocean, where no one can live there. It's said that by yawning, it can create whirlpool-like currents. To prevent from being attacked, it hides in undersea caves."
Faith: Lugia, think you can stop Kingdra?
Lugia: I'll try my best.
(Battle! Team Magma and Team Aqua Leader – Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire OST)
Archie: "Kingdra, show them no mercy! Hit Lugia with Hydro Pump!"
Kingdra obeyed, unleashing a powerful torrent of water towards Lugia. But Faith, with her keen instincts, anticipated the attack.
Faith: "Lugia, dodge and counter with Aeroblast!"
With a graceful twist, Lugia evaded the Hydro Pump, soaring above the rushing currents. Faith watched with anticipation as Lugia conjured a swirling vortex of energy, shaping it into a radiant sphere.
Faith: "Now, Lugia! Let loose Aeroblast!"
Lugia unleashed the attack, the shining projectile streaking through the water with unparalleled speed. It struck Kingdra head-on, causing the sea to tremble with the force of the impact.
Archie's confidence wavered as his Kingdra struggled to recover.
Archie: "Kingdra, retaliate with Dragon Pulse!"
Kingdra summoned its inner strength, unleashing a pulsating beam of draconic energy towards Lugia. Faith's heart pounded with concern as Lugia braced for the incoming attack.
Faith: "Lugia, use Psychic to deflect it!"
With a focused mind, Lugia enveloped itself in a protective barrier of psychic energy, deflecting the Dragon Pulse with ease. Faith let out a sigh of relief, her trust in Lugia unwavering.
Faith: "Now, seize the opportunity, Lugia! Finish with Psychic!"
Lugia, empowered by Faith's command, surged forward with determination. With a surge of psychic energy, Lugia lifted Kingdra from the water, its form suspended in the shimmering depths.
Archie's voice echoed through the water, filled with frustration.
Archie: "Kingdra, break free! Use Waterfall!"
But it was too late. Lugia's grip remained unyielding as it slammed Kingdra back into the ocean with a resounding crash, securing victory for Faith and her indomitable partner.
Faith: We did it!
Ligia: [roars in joy] Lugi!
Mordecai: Wow, Faith! Valure's evolving!
[Faith's eyes light up with excitement as she watches Valure's transformation. The water around them seems to shimmer with newfound energy as Valure's form begins to change.]
Faith: Look, Mordecai! Valure's becoming something incredible!
[Valure's body shimmers and shifts, her fins elongating and her scales taking on a brilliant hue. With a burst of radiant light, Valure's evolution is complete, revealing her new form as Beautifin, the majestic Water/Fairy-type Pokémon.]
Mordecai: Whoa! She's stunning! Congratulations, Faith!
[Faith beams with pride as she gazes at her newly evolved Beautifin, her heart swelling with affection for her companion.]
Faith: Thank you, Mordecai! Isn't she beautiful?
[Beautifin swims gracefully through the water, her elegant movements mesmerizing to behold. Mordecai nods in awe, a smile spreading across his face.]
Mordecai: Absolutely! She's a sight to behold, just like her trainer.
Faith: Let's see what she is. [pulls out her Rotom Phone]
[Faith's Rotom Phone chimes]
Faith's Rotom Phone: "Beautifin, the Sea Dragon Pokémon. A Dragon and Water type. Beautifin uses its scales to produce jewelry and various accessories. It's usually not found in the ocean due to the ban on people poaching this Pokémon so it's barely seen in person."
Faith: I sure hope Hazel likes this Lugia and Blastoisite.
(Faith and Mordecai return to the surface where Mordecai took off his scuba gear.)
Mordecai: hazel, we got something special for you!
Hazel: What is it?
(Lugia approaches Hazel.)
Hazel: it's the Legendary Pokémon, Lugia! Oh, Mordecai, you shouldn't have.
Mordecai: And we got a Blastoisite.
Hazel: This'll be great for my Blastoise.
Mordecai: I'm sure it will.
Turo: Mordecai, Faith. Thank goodness you're here.
Faith: Well, time to transform back into my normal form.
(Faith transforms back into her purple one-piece swim dress.)
Turo: We found another Pokémon to help Lexie in the final battle, this time being Chien-Pao!
Woody: Chien-Pao?
Turo: It looks like a sabertooth tiger.
Woody: is that what it looks like?
Turo: I suppose so.
Narrator: What luck! Not only has Hazel obtained a Lugia but she also received a Blastoisite from a sunken ship! Stay tuned for more adventures, as the journey continues!
