AN: Hello fellow Potter lovers. It has been quite a while since I have written a completely new chapter. I apologize for the confusion of the double chapters. This is the new/correct chapter missing for Chapter 4. I hope you all enjoy the revisions I have made. I love the beginning of this chapter, I know a lot of soul bond fics bash Molly but I just couldn't imagine it. As always, I appreciate your interest in my writing. The characters are not my own.
Chapter 4
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry- Friday June 11th, 1993
Molly Weasley made her way into the Great Hall of Hogwarts for dinner. Her youngest child and only daughter had been through the worst few weeks of her life. She was possessed by one of the most feared wizards of the last few decades, almost killed in the Chamber of Secrets, and gave up a piece of her soul to save a boy she had barely known. Molly was not sure if it was the shock of it all or the relief of having her daughter safe that made her accept their fate. Molly had not known much of Harry, besides her little interaction with him over the summer and her letters from Ron, but even before this incident Harry had felt like one of her own sons. This road will not be an easy one for either Ginny or Harry, but Molly felt it was her duty to love them both unconditionally and give them the support they need. This would be a long journey for everyone in her family but she was happy to have another son.
Molly was stopped outside the door of the great hall by her daughter and her mate.
"Hey Mum, what are you still doing here?" Ginny asked curiously.
"I just thought I would enjoy a nice dinner with my kids before heading home. Poppy has given you both a clean bill of health so I have to make my way back home to get ready for your arrival next week." The matriarch said, smiling at the pair.
"Are you really okay with this mum?" Ginny asked cautiously.
"Do I wish my 11 year old daughter was in this situation, no. But, am I proud of how well both you and Harry are handling this and I could not imagine anyone better than Harry to join our family." Molly said, "I trust you both and am so proud to be your mother." She made sure she looked at Harry as well to reassure him of her love.
"I didn't mean for any of this to happen Mrs…Molly, but I am very glad I have found a family." Harry said with a soft smile.
Molly embraced Harry in a bone crushing hug but he didn't mind. For the first time since that dreaded Halloween night, Harry truly felt the love of a mother. He hugged her back with a teary eye.
I have never been happier, Harry thought to himself.
Neither have I Harry
"Oh dear, don't you start crying or I will too." Molly said backing away from Harry but keeping her hands on his shoulder.
"He's very happy to have a family Mum. Thank you for accepting him." Ginny said happily.
Molly hugged Harry once more and the trio made their way into the Great Hall. Molly ate with her children, wished them well for the remainder of their school year and bid them farewell.
Saturday June 12th 1993
Ginny and Harry walked together through the school. They were headed to the same shaded isolated spot outside of Black Lake. Since they were exempt from exams they were able to get out of the castle, away from students cramming for their test and get some alone time.
This has been a really weird few weeks
Oh you mean getting possessed by an evil wizard and soul bonded isn't an everyday occurrence Harry? Ginny said jokingly
I don't know, I knew the wizarding world was different but I didn't think it was THIS different He laughed.
I would say this is weird even for wizards.
Thank Merlin, I don't think I could handle too much more.
Your the Boy Who Lived Harry, I don't think you will ever get away with normal
"That's what I'm afraid of," Harry said aloud as they sat under the shady tree.
"I wonder how my brothers will react when we tell them." Ginny pondered "I doubt they will all be as accepting as Bill."
"Probably not, Ron doesn't even know and he's already mad at me."
"Yeah, I'm not sure what his problem is, but he's a git and if he doesn't get over it I'll Bat Bogey him"
Bat Bogey? Harry thought. Ginny answered by showing Harry memories of a fiery younger Ginny charming her brother's noses to expel bats.
That's awesome and terrifying
"Remind me never to get on your bad side," Harry joked.
"I don't think you could." Ginny leaned her head onto Harry's shoulder and the pair sat talking under the shade for hours mixing their inner thoughts and spoken word. They were happily oblivious about the outside world enjoying each other's company. They did not move until Ginny had to use the loo and it was getting close to dinner time. They walked hand in hand back to the castle blissfully unaware of anyone else.
Hogwarts Express-June 19th 1993
The next week passed by similarly for Harry and Ginny. As everyone else finished their exams the pair wandered the grounds, occasionally flying around the Quidditch pitch, Ginny borrowing Fred or George's broom, and enjoying each other's company. Hermione continued to analyze the pair's behavior since they awoke in the hospital room. Ron still did not seem happy with either Harry or Ginny. Despite Ron's behavior Harry and Ginny were happy to see the end of the school year. They enjoyed the end of the year feast and looked forward to the summer spent together. Harry, Ginny, Hermione, and Ron sat together on the Hogwarts Express with just over an hour left of their journey to King's Cross station.
"Do you have any plans for the summer, Hermione?" Ginny asked
"My parents and I are going to France for two weeks, other than that I will be reading the material for third year. I'm very excited for Arithmancy and Ancient Runes."
"You're taking Arithmany and Ancient Runes? I thought you were taking Divination and Care of Magical Creatures?" Ron asked hastily.
"Well I am, I'm taking those as well as Muggle Studies." Hermione answered.
"All three, Hermione, you can't be serious!"
"I am Ronald."
"Hermione, how will you have time to take every elective, there's no way you will have time." Harry questioned.
"Don't worry, I have it worked out."
"Looney that one is," Ron muttered.
"Ronald, just because I don't want an easy pass next year doesn't make me looney. Not my fault you're too lazy to put in the work." Hermione scolded and stood up, "I can't stay with you any longer, Harry and Ginny, I'll see you on the platform."
What a prat Harry thought
He's your friend
Your brother
Don't remind me
Hermioned grabbed her things and left the cabin.
Follow her please Gin
Already ahead of you, grab my things when the train stops
Sure thing Gin
"You've really got to be nicer to her Ron" Harry said as Ginny left the cabin to follow Hermione.
"Why are you always on her side? She's taking every elective possible, it's crazy." Ron said grumpily.
"I'm not always on her side but Ron you're being unreasonable on her."
"Forget it Harry, leave it to you to side with Hermione and Ginny, I don't know what's gotten into you since the Chamber but I don't like it."
"Forget it Ron, I'm going find Hermione and Ginny."
We're in the cabin with Fred and George
You heard that?
Yeah, I didn't realize it before but I can hear if I'm paying attention
Cool, this bond is weird
Harry walked into the cabin with Fred, George, Hermione, Ginny, and Lee Jordan.
"Well hello oh immortal one." Fred said gleefully.
"It seems ickle Ronniekins has obviously let his anger get the best of him" George replied.
"Harry, you didn't have to come and find me." Hermione said, trying to hide her frustration.
"He's being a git Hermione, I couldn't stand him anymore."
I smell a bat bogey hex
Gin, don't you're at Hogwarts now, you'll get in trouble
If he gives me a reason I won't hold back
The group chatted for the remainder of the ride discussing their summer plans, the mood greatly lifted after Ron's outburst. The train came to a stop an hour later and the inhabitants of the cabin walked together out of the train towards their parents.
"I see my parents, see ya Weasleys, Potter, Granger," Lee said as he waved and walked off.
"I see my mom and dad. Have a great summer guys," Hermione said as she went to hug Harry.
"Have a great summer Harry, maybe Mrs. Weasley will let you come over the summer."
"I would love to Harry, I'll write. I'm really glad you will have a great summer away from your relatives." Hermione exclaimed then gave Ginny a hug.
"I can't wait to see you guys again, tell Ron I said goodbye." Hermione walked off from her friends to find her parents.
Do you see your parents yet
Yes, just over there
Ginny waved and made her way to her parents with Harry following.
"Ginny, Harry, how wonderful to see you. I have missed you both." Mrs. Weasley engulfed the couple into a hug. "How was the remainder of your school year?"
"Great mum, very relaxing." Ginny responded.
"I'm glad to hear it" her mother replied "Oh, Ron over here"
Molly waved over her youngest son.
"Ginny dear, let me get your trunk let's get going kids, have you guys seen Percy yet."
"He's probably with his girlfriend," Ginny said jokingly..
"Perce has a girlfriend, this is-" Fred started
"-intriguing." The twins finished together.
"You didn't hear it from me but I caught him snogging a Ravenclaw prefect in a broom closet."
"A broom closet-"
"-Percy, surely not-"
"-perfect Percy." Fred finished with a grin. "This will be a fun summer indeed."
"Leave your brother alone boys, he'll inform us of his relationship when he's ready." Their father half heartedly lectured.
"Harry dear, are you sure your relatives aren't upset that you will be staying with us over the summer." Molly Weasley questioned.
"Nah, I'm sure they're celebrating. I sent them an OWL but haven't heard anything back." Harry shrugged. "I'm really grateful to you guys, if I never see them again it will be too soon."
"Oh Harry dear I am so sorry, you shouldn't feel that way about family."
"They weren't his family mom, if you knew what they did to Harry you wouldn't use Aquamenti to put out a fire on their head." Ginny scowled.
"Ginevra!"
"She's right Molly, I don't really want to talk about them right now but they are not good people."
Molly looked sadly in Harry's direction.
"Oh Harry dear, I understand. Do you need to get your things from their house? I can send Arthur with you to gather your things."
"No need, everything I own is in here." Harry gestured to his trunk.
"Oh dear, well why don't you kids join me at Diagon Alley next Friday to get you some things."
"That would be great, thank you."
With that the Weasley family made their way out of King's Cross station.
