JJ blinked against the sunlight that filled her bedroom after Spencer opened the blinds. "Hey, what're you doing, Spence? It's too early."
"It's 7:52 am, JJ, and it's Saturday."
"I know, but I wanna sleep in today."
"It could be worse if not for the Daylight Savings Time. It'd be this light at 6:52 am, instead."
JJ gritted her teeth as she sat up in bed. "Well, whoopdedo for Daylight Savings Time."
"I'll make you brunch," Spencer offered with a smirk.
JJ glared up at him and ran a hand through her golden hair that, in Spencer's opinion, rivaled the sunlight. "Fine, but I want bacon in my omelet."
"I figured you would when I went shopping yesterday."
'So that's why you forced me to come home and let you pick up food for the weekend."
"Yes."
JJ went to him and kissed him. "Thanks, babe."
"You're welcome."
"Still mad at you," she said as she picked up her robe.
"I know."
She shook her head as she went into the bathroom for a shower. Spencer left to fix all of JJ's favorite breakfast food. He hoped she'd like the champagne he'd bought for them. He didn't care for wine but would drink it occasionally with JJ.
He had another surprise he'd set up for later, and thinking about it made him smile. He began to crack eggs into a glass bowl.

"That was delicious," JJ enthused after her last sip of champagne. "Thank you, babe."
"You're welcome."
JJ shook her head and chuckled a little as she rose to clear the table. Their deal was one cooked, and one cleaned up.
"What's so humorous," Spencer asked as he watched her rinse plates.
"I was thinking about how good you are with breakfast food and how terrible your supper recipes are."
"I never got the hang of it," Spencer said. "I'm glad I met you."
"I knew you only wanted me for my mother's pot roast recipe."
"It is superb," Spencer said and laughed when she rolled her eyes.
"So," JJ asked a few minutes later. "What are you planning to do today?"
Spencer lied and said. "I was planning on reading a few new books, but then you suggested staying over, and – not sure what to do now."
"Hm, well, it's the third day of official summer, and I want to get a bit of sun."
"So you want to go to the pool," Spencer interpreted.
"Yep."
"It's going to be hot today." Spencer reminded her. "It's your first time in the pool since it opened last month, and with your fair complexion –"
"I promise I'll lather on the sunscreen and only stay out for half an hour, Mom!"
Spencer crossed his arms and frowned. "Not funny. I love your beautiful, flawless skin."
JJ eyed him as she stood up to go to her room. "I'll let you flatter me because I don't want to deal with a burn. I promise I will set a timer on my phone."
"You don't have to do that. I trust you, beautiful."
"Stop it," JJ laughed, pulling him forward for a kiss. "You wanna come with me?"
"No. I can't stand public pools."
"You don't have to get in the water."
"I know, but pool outings are your time. Remember you said that lying in the sun allows you to decompress and gather your thoughts."
"Yeah, I did say that," JJ admitted. "Alright, I'll see you later."

Spencer had just finished the final touches on his surprise for JJ when the door handle turned, and she entered. He was sitting on the floor when she walked in. The look on her face was priceless.
"What the – Spencer, what're you doing?"
He'd laid out a plaid picnic blanket and set up a large sunshade shaped like a vast multi-colored umbrella. There was a bucket with more champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. Her small, black travel radio played the Beach Boys. Spencer wore a pair of purple swimming trunks, sunglasses, and a white tee shirt with a picture of the Tardis.
"Hi," he said as he pulled down his sunglasses, "Welcome to Reid's Retreat. Would you like something to drink, beautiful lady?"
JJ dropped her towel and pulled off the white wrap she wore to reveal a very skimpy white bikini. "You are insane, and I love it," she said as she sashayed over to him and gracefully dropped to the blanket.
"I thought we'd have a summer sanctuary in the privacy of your home."
"Hm," JJ picked up a flute of ice-cold champagne and sipped it. "Are you trying to get me drunk so you can have your way with me?"
"Yes," Spencer said and almost laughed when she raised her eyebrows.
"I like your honesty."
"Good, because you look – so sexy."
JJ picked up a strawberry and popped it into her mouth. After she slowly chewed and swallowed, she waggled her finger and seductively purred, "Get over here and lick the juice off my mouth."
"Yes, ma'am."
Spencer pulled JJ into his lap after kissing the strawberry juice and a bit of chocolate from her delectable mouth. He was about to move to her neck when she shifted, pushed away, and repositioned herself with her knees on either side of his hips. She reached down and smirked. "Someone's ready for fun."
"Is that a problem, " Spencer breathed as her hand slid slowly up and down.
"Nope, all I could think about while I was lying in the sun was getting – hot and bothered with you."
"I don't know what to say to that," he murmured.
"Then shut up and take me, Dr. Reid."
