Chapter 3: And it begins

Moroha had walked with Yuki to the next town over where the market was, asking him many questions about his travels and the different places that he's been along the way. He spoke as if all of his travels were no big deal but to her these stories were like secret treasures being unearthed and fanning the flames of her own desires when it came to her dreams.

"You're 16 years old and you've never left your village for more than a week?" Yuki questioned as if that was unusual.

"Don't be a braggart." She huffed.

"I'm sorry it's just that by the time I was 16, I had already traveled almost the whole of this continent." He smiled and her eyes sparkled at his words and the promise of all the untold stories that he held with him.

"Traveled the whole continent? What a dream. How old are you now anyway Yuki? You don't look much older than me."

"I'm 19, I could see you enjoying this island that I recently visited a few months back." Yuki smiled " The island is east of here off of our coast and near impossible to swim to. You can only get there by boat, but it's completely worth the endeavor, the island is beautiful and they have a rich culture. The people are very spiritual. I was so impressed, though I wasn't able to stay for long." He smiled. "With the strength of your spiritual power they'd probably revere you as a celestial goddess."

"Celestial goddess!?" She exclaimed with a smile as she placed her hand on her chin. "I like the sound of that."

"You're quite humble in the face of praise." He said sarcastically, chuckling low at her reaction to his words.

"My father says that I'm confident." She stated matter of factly.

Yuki chuckled lightly. This was the first time that she had ever heard him laugh. He sounded airy as he laughed like he wasn't used to people spoken to speaking so open and frank.

"I bet you keep his hands full, are you an only child?"

"No, I'm the oldest of 4." She said, stretching her arms out and then putting them behind her head as they walked.

"Wow! In that case, I bet that you keep all of their hands full." He stated, baffled.

Unless they were all like her. He dared to think.

"Hey! Don't make me open your wounds back up." She said annoyed as she'd moved her arms from behind her head.

"Sorry, sorry that was rude of me." He said, losing his sarcastic voice and going back to his more serious self.

"Yes it was." She agreed.

"What's it like to have so many siblings?" He asked seriously while hiding any emotion that that question may or may not have been making him feel.

"Hmm, we'll, it's like having 3 people who all look similar to you and know all the right buttons to push in order to annoy you at any given moment but at the same time you wouldn't trade them for anything and you'd do anything for them." She replied seriously, looking straight ahead and avoiding his gaze as she smiled to herself half embarrassed at sounding so soft.

"You all must be close." He smiled sad and soft.

"We are." She simply said.

"I wonder if I would have been close with my siblings, had any of them survived." He spoke nonchalantly his voice even and flat and Moroha watched him speak. Oh his voice didn't portray any emotion that he might be feeling, she could see the sorrow in his eyes as he spoke.

"What happened to them?" She asked, feeling a little bad for flaunting how close she was with her family in front of him.

"They were killed by a demon just like my father was and that's part of why my uncle and I traveled for so long. He wanted to make me stronger so that I would be able to face the demon that killed my family should I ever come across him, If he ever tries to kill me and I… I will avenge the death of my family." Yuki said seriously.

Moroha's heart beat for him as she remembered how her parentk's enemy Naraku had ruined so many families just like how Yuki was talking about, happened to his.

"I hope that you can find closure one day Yuki, rather it's through revenge or in other ways. No one deserves to grow up never knowing their parents and family. It must have been lonely." Moroha looked at him with kind eyes as she spoke as she watched his face change as he thought her words over.

"I was lonely at times but I had my Uncle with me and he made sue that I knew who I was. I'm glad that you think that way, Moroha. Some people think that my wish is hopeless and that it doesn't matter because my family members are all dead anyway but those dead people who I will never meet, they matter to me and I just know that one day I'll make it happen. My revenge." He said just as they finally reached the market.

The smell of fresh bread filled her nose a whole street before they even got to the bakery and she perked up considerably as they got closer.

"I wouldn't have expected to see you so excited over going to buy bread. Shouldn't women be more excited about silks and jewels?" Yuki teased after he bought the bread.

"Fresh bread just smells really nice." She smiled. "Silks and jewels are more of my sister's thing. My siblings will be happy to have more bread at home. Thanks for the treat." She smiled at him.

"Of course, I had to even our scores. Though one loaf of bread in return doesn't seem quite fair compared to you mostly healing my wounds." He said disdainfully.

"It is, believe me it was nothing." She nonchalantly.

She had made sure not to overdo it with the healing in that moment anyway, as she would feel considerably tired if she used her spiritual powers too much for healing.

"I said that I didn't steal!" A child no bigger than Moroha's 9 year old brother Haru said. And the two listened to the scene playing out not too far from where they were walking.

"Oh really." The stand keeper questions hostilely. "Then how did you get two apples!?"

"I bought them from the other stand across the market. You don't have the only apple stand around." The kid tried to defend.

"There is no other apple stand in the front of the market! Only mine, you damn thief, I'll have your hand!" The fender said and he threatened to report the child to the market's watchmen.

The exchange made Moroha's head turn and Yuki watched her as her face showed exactly how she felt as she listened to the exchange. He had never been around someone who thought and felt so openly. He could see everything just from looking at her. As he too listened to the interaction that she was so focused on.

He barely even registered what she was doing until she was already doing so. When she finally decided to intervene, tossing at least twice the amount that the two apples would have cost on the counter in front of the vendor.

"Is this enough?" She asked.

"That's 3 times as much as they would have cost." The shop owner said.

"Good, then leave the kid alone now that you've been properly paid." She ordered.

"I can't do that. If I let him get away then he'll just come back and steal again." The man said angrily.

"You have no grounds to keep him here or report him now that no crime has been committed. Are you really trying to say that you can't protect your stand from children's silly games and little magic tricks of, disappear, reappear? You tell that to the market's watch and they're going to think that you're a joke."

"Watch your tone, girl." He threatened and she shrugged, playing innocent.

"I was only trying to help you but if you think that they'd understand such weakness then go ahead who am I to stop you." Moroha said and the man huffed.

"Fine, but the next time that I see you steal it's going to be your right hand." The stand keeper threatened one last time before the kid ran off muttering a hurried thanks to Moroha and she smiled after she passed the vendor and Yuki just watched her as he tried to make sense of her actions.

"You just can't keep to yourself, when it comes to the business of strangers can you? What was your reason for helping that kid? I assume that you've never met before." Yuki asked and she shrugged.

"No we haven't met before, I just did what I wanted." She smiled. "Hopefully he won't get caught next time."

"I never thought that I'd hear a priestess hope that someone would not be caught stealing." Yuki said with a look of amusement on his face.

"I am not a priestess." She finally corrected him. "I am a huntress. I hunt demons." She said proudly.

"I'm sorry, I just thought that because you had such strong spiritual powers that you had to be a priestess but you Hunt demons?" He asked, intrigued.

"Yes, for about three years now." She smiled.

"I see, No wonder you seem as though you have not a fear in the world. You're ineradicable." He complimented and she blushed at his words. She wasn't used to hearing this much praise so sincerely.

"Well I wouldn't say that I have no fears, everyone is afraid of something."

"Most can't hide it so well." Yuki smiled.

"Well I had better get to going home now and get back to my village. Where are you off to?"

"Probably back to the woods to get some decent sleep now that I'm mostly healed. I don't really have the coin to stay anywhere else now." Yuki said and Moroha immediately responded to him.

"You don't have to sleep in the woods, you're more than welcome to stay with me and my family for a night or two." She offered. He could sleep in their dining room by the fireplace, she thought just like when her parents had guests over.

"I.. I couldn't possibly impose not after we just got even." He said quickly but his flushed face gave a different impression and she snickered at him.

"Sure you can, where would you rather be a nice warm place where you can sleep peacefully or the cold and stiff ground? Where it might rain?" She asked which tempted him more as she tried at convincing him.

Haru and Sora finished school later that afternoon and saw Shjini waiting for them alone right where they had parted with him earlier in the morning.

It was strange to see him there to see them without their sister especially when the two boys usually would just walk to and from school had only done so this morning to try and avade Shinji and here Shinji was now but without her.

The two boys didn't usually mind Shinji's presence as he was always kind to them but they both could tell that it was only a matter of time until their sister would knock him out if he kept annoying her the way that he did.

"Haru, Sora!" Shinji called and the two boys walked over to him.

"What are you doing here Shinji?" Haru asked.

"Moroha said that we would meet here and then all of us would go to the market together." Shinj smiled pridefully.

"But Yuna just went to the market two days ago." Their parents had been gone for four days now and Yuna had been making sure that everyone was well taken care of and had everything that they needed even though Moroha was supposed to be in charge.

"Maybe. Moroha just wants for us to all get used to being around each other. We are all going to be family someday soon." Shinji said and both brothers looked at him with questionable expressions. Even they could tell that Shinji's efforts were at a loss when it came to trying to get their sister to return his feelings.

"ShinjI I think that if you keep this up my sister is going to beat you up and if you come over a lot when papa comes home he probably will too." Sora said, giving Shjini his advice on how to avoid the wrath of both his sister and father and the boys began to walk away.

"Children Wait, your sister should be here any minute. We need to wait until she gets here." Shinji said.

"Shinji, she's not coming, Moroha never comes to get us after school." Haru said.

"She told me that she would, so I believe her. As her future fiancé I need to trust her words." Shinji said. "You two should tell her how good of a brother I am when she gets here so that she can understand that I don't just love her but all of you as my in-laws as well."

Sora only looked at him and shook his head while Haru rolled his eyes.

"Shinji." Haru said. "I don't have an older brother." and Shinji looked as though the boys had just crushed his heart.

"Are you the person who's responsible for Haru?" A woman with a small child around Haru and Sora's age asked Shinji.

"Yes." He said. "I'm soon to be his brother in law." Shinji said off in his own world as the three children were noticeably glaring at each other.

"Your brother hit my son, he pushed him and scraped his knees today. I want you to make him apologize." The woman demanded and the child smirked at the boys.

"Haru, is that true?" Shinji asked.

Haru looked down before eyeing both the woman and her son who were both looking at him disapprovingly with contempt.

"It's true but he.. he called me a… If he was going to be such a cry baby he shouldn't have acted so tough." Haru said visibly mad at this situation but continued with what he said, never once looking away from the boy he had hit earlier. "This guy isn't even in charge!" He motioned at Shinji. "You should just tell my sister tomorrow." Haru said, rolling his eyes.

Moroha would take care of this if he asked her to and she would definitely be on his side. She always was.

Shinji looked from Haru as he spoke, to the woman and her son.

"Haru it's okay I think I understand." Shinji said before releasing a heavy sigh.

"What do you mean it's okay he hurt my son! This is exactly the kind of thing children like him do. What happens when he hurts more of his classmates then what?!"

"I'm starting to understand why your son probably deserved what happened to him today." Shinji said.

"Deserved it! You must be one of them too, this village is so strange the opportunity here may not be worth all this." The woman said and Shinji looked at her coldly and she froze.

"You're new to this village so you don't know. I'll enlighten you." Shinji stated. "This boy is the son of High priestess Kagome and our village's protector who is a great demon whom we all respect. This school that your child is attending was made possible because of the efforts of our high priestess, so it isn't wise to make an enemy of her son. I'm going to give you a warning this time but if I ever hear of you or your son harassing my little brother again. I may just have to use the connections that I have to make life hell around here for you and your family. My family is very well off and we have control over a lot of different work that's done around here. You don't want us to determine you to be our enemy. Also you should count yourself lucky. If the boy's older sister had been here you may have been harmed today as well for spewing such stupid insults." Shinji said.

The woman only huffed in response as she pulled her kid away from them and Shjini smiled, at Haru and Sora who were looking at him surprised at how much back bone he was capable of having.

"Why did you—" Haru asked.

"Don't let people like that make you feel bad Haru, you too Sora. People like that are worthless. You just tell big brother Shin if anyone else bothers you." Shinji smiled. "Should we go meet your sister at home?" He asked.

"Yes." Haru and Sora both said and the three of them walked in silence for a moment as Haru found the words to say.

"Thank you, for defending me Shinji but I still don't think that Moroha will get engaged with you. You should go back to being more like you were before you proposed." Haru said.

Before Shinji started proposing he had always been a kind face and much less of a nuisance to Moroha's family. He had never really been one of their sisters close friends but if she asked him for anything he was more than willing to help out. Now he had become overbearing to everyone with his attention.

"If I did that Moroha would forget about my feelings completely. I have a plan to get your father's permission and then Moroha will agree to be with me. You just tell her about today and how good of a brother I would be." Shinji said.

"Fine." Haru huffed he typically didn't care about the relationship between Shinji and his sister but no human besides his mom had ever defended him before so he would do Shinji this favor even though it wouldn't change anything.

"I don't think that papa likes you." Was all Sora said.

"He will, I will never give up." Shinji said.

He had loved Moroha since they were kids. She was out spoken and fun and funny and Spontaneous. There were numerous qualities that he liked about her and to top everything off she was beautiful. Sure she had demon blood but it wasn't something that bothered him, not when all that he saw was her.

As they got older she had always shone brighter than any star he had ever seen. He loved being able to call himself her friend though they never reached the closeness that he wanted with her.

She had never noticed his longing stares or fleeting glances so he had to make himself more present in her life so that she would see him and his feelings seriously. He only wished to be with her and adore her for as long as he'd live, she had to come around someday, eventually she would have to see that he was her best option.

Being with him would be her only chance at keeping her current lifestyle and still being able to have a family while being respected, especially because she would be marrying into wealth. Her parents would be fools to refuse such a union but simply getting married to her would not be enough. He wanted her to want him to so he was determined not to give up on her not ever.

Once Shinji arrived to the family's home and Moroha was nowhere to be found he did stay and wait with the boys for a while playing games with them and keeping them company until Yuna came home and told him that Moroha most likely wouldn't be back until way past dinner time since she most likely took a demon slaying job and that was likely the cause of her being out so late today. So he left with his head hung from his hopes of seeing Moroha again that day being snuffed.

"He should really give up on this, she's never going to want to be with him." Yuna sighed.

"I think that big bro is cool." Haru said.

"Haru don't say that around Moroha or she'll punch you." Yuna said seriously.

"I have to because Shinji defended me today." He groaned though he did appreciate Shinji's help today he still dreaded having to risk getting punched by his sister.

"Oh really?" Yuna asked. "What did he do?" She asked but Haru never got the chance to respond as Moroha entered their home not even 15 minutes after Shinji left with a new friend at her side.

"Hey guys this is Yuki he's going to be staying with us tonight. He's not too strong, so make sure that you don't bump into him, Haru and Sora." The siblings only looked at them wide eyed and Moroha only smiled innocently.

"Are you sure that this is okay?" Yuki asked as the siblings eyed him completely shocked.

"I told you that it's fine they're just not used to having people staying over." Moroha said to him before turning back to her siblings and speaking sternly. "Stop that, you three you're making my guest feel uncomfortable."

"I'm uncomfortable!" Yuna said. "Who the hell is this?!" Yuna screamed at her. Her sister seemed to be finding new ways to test her everyday that their parents were gone.

"This is Yuki, he's an adventurer. I met him at the sacred tree this morning." Moroha smiled.

"An adventurer!" Her brothers both exclaimed excitedly.

"Like, like someone who's been around the whole world?" Sora asked excitedly.

"And beats up bad guys?" Haru added just as invested.

"Well not the whole world, I've only been around most of Japan, and I have beat up a lot of bad guys, so yes." Yuki stated this kind of situation was foreign to him. He had never interacted with children before and Moroha gave him a knowing look as she smirked at him.

What a misfit he thought, and what a bind he had gotten himself into by meeting her.

"Yuki has gone on countless adventures, he's even traveled off of Japan to different islands." Moroha proclaimed.

"Well how very good for him." Yuna said. "Moroha we can't have a man that we don't know staying in our house. What if he tries to hurt one of us or kill us in our sleep! We know nothing about his character!" Yuna exclaimed and Moroha turned to Yuki.

"Hey don't do any of that or you'll have to leave." She said seriously and Yuki nodded.

"Understood." He responded.

"This is not that simple!" Yuna yelled. "Think about what people might say, think about your reputation." Yuna urged her sister.

"I don't care about that kind of stuff. I'm incharge and I say it's okay so that's that." She smiled, still not a cre in the world and it was making Yuna's blood boil even more.

"You don't care but I do! Somebody's got to or you'd just run completely wild."

"I don't want to cause trouble between you and your family Moroha." He turned to her sister. "Yuna was it? I understand that it would be improper for me to stay under miss Moroha's roof." He said.

"It would be." Yuna stated simply as she crossed her arms and Moroha glared at her but Yuki spoke before she got the chance to retort.

"The forest is completely fine really. I'm used to it from my travels." Yuki said as he faced Moroha again.

"Yuna!" All of her siblings whined.

"I wanted to hear his adventure stories!" Sora said.

"He got robbed by bandits, he has no place to stay!" Moroha stated angrily.

"Fine, he can stay here." Yuna caved feeling bad that he had no other place to stay.

"It's fine, really miss, I wouldn't want to—" Yuki tried to say but Yuna cut him off,

"I said it's fine! But if I see even one impure glance directed at my sister then I'll kill you myself. She is simply showing you the kindness of good hospitality by letting you stay here and nothing more do you understand?" Yuna said and he nodded scared into silence.

She had looked more fierce than her older sister as she threatened him. Yuki didn't know that was even possible.

After Yuna was done threatening his life. The two boys rushed to excitedly ask him all about his travels. The boys looked at him as if his words were gold as he told them about his travels and they had been just as invested as Moroha had been earlier. He told them of his travels and battles against demons and the many many people that he had met with extraordinary abilities along the way.

For someone who wasn't used to being around children he was surprisingly good at talking to them and keeping their interest. He hadn't even noticed that Moroha had left him alone with the kids until she was telling them all that the meal that she and her sister had made was finished.

How the smell had escaped him was beyond him, he had never smelled such good cooking before in his life. Even from the places that he traveled and had reputations for good food. It didn't compare to how Moroha and her family cooked, he didn't know that such high quality meals existed and he was saying silent prayers in thanks that he had met Moroha during the whole meal.

"Make sure that you all thank Yuki for the bread that he bought us." Moroha said.

"You bought this bread? Thanks." Yuna said her tone with him was not nearly as cold as before and the younger siblings said their thanks as well.

"No need to thank me, it was the least that I could do after your sister helped me out." He said honestly.

"What happened big bro?" Sora asked excitedly.

"My chest had been cut open after a few bandits had gotten the better of me and your lovely sister here was kind enough to heal me with her powers." Yuki said.

"Calm down with the compliments." Yuna said.

"Bandits! What happened?" Haru asked as if he had missed what Moroha had said earlier in her convincing of Yuna.

Yuki had no problem recounting the events to the siblings of how 10 bandits had attacked him and he had managed to fight them off but not without getting injured. Haru and Sora had thought that he was even cooler. While Moroha had teased him again saying that if it had been her the bandits would have all left with injuries to which he replied that "Not everyone hunts demons for a living. I'm sure that fighting humans would have been easy for the master huntress Moroha the demon killer."

"That's right." Moroha said as she took another sip of her water eating up the praise and Yuna glared at Yuki.

"What did I say about the compliment." Yuna said and the siblings laughed. They all knew that their sister had a big enough head already.

Yuki finished eating and laughing with the siblings before the younger two of the four went to bed and he helped Moroha clean up as Yuna said that she was not going to be the maid today or even help her clean up since Moroha blew off her turn to watch their brother and pushed them on to Shinji who had been surprisingly decent.

Haru even told his sisters about how Shinji had stuck up for him after one of his classmates had jested about him being a half demon. She'd have to thank him later.

Yuna went to bed after Moroha agreed to do all the cleaning that night. Soon after Moroha and Yuki finished cleaning up, She gave Yuki a blanket to keep warm with. He was to sleep in front of their fireplace and he was very appreciative of the family's generosity. Before Moroha had gone to bed she and Yuki talked in front of the fire for a long while and Yuki thanked her again for the hospitality.

"You really don't have to thank me again." She said as they sat side by side in front of the fire. The light of the flames dancing across her skin in the dark of night and making her eyes look darker.

"How long do you plan on staying here?" She asked soft in the quiet of her family home.

Did she not want him to leave just yet? He thought. He doubted that her sister would let him stay longer than another night or two and he couldn't keep falling into debt to Moroha like this.

"I don't know, maybe another night if that'd be alright. I should probably get going soon. I'm supposed to meet back up with my Uncle." He said looking into her eyes as the two of them spoke and she turned her head facing the flames as she spoke now and he watched her.

"I see, well we should leave the house together tomorrow morning, Yuna would probably kill me if I left a guest that she doesn't know alone in our home. Just let me know if you need anything before I'm off tomorrow morning." Moroha said.

"Are you leaving the village tomorrow?" Yuki asked.

"I have a demon slaying job a few villages over but it shouldn't be too serious from what I heard." She said as she watched Yuki's eyes light up under the light of the flames.

"Demon slayer job? Perhaps I could be of assistance to you in this case. Though I'm sure my skill is nowhere near yours I am quite capable in a fight and now that I'm almost completely healed I'll fare much better."

"I can't bring someone who's untrained to fight a demon you could be killed."

"Not completely untrained, I've faced many demons before and besides you'll be there so I won't be in any real danger. Just because I'm human doesn't mean that I'm weak. I'd be grateful for the chance to be of use to you as repayment for the meal and place to stay." Yuki said seriously and Moroha considered what he was saying before answering him.

"Fine, I'll let you tag along but don't get in our way. My cousin Setsuna will kill me if we end up having to protect you so you better be telling the truth about being able to fight."

"You won't be disappointed." He smiled. The two of them talked for just a little while longer until Moroha's eyes started to get heavy and she had no choice but to go to her room and they were both able to sleep peacefully that night.

The next morning Moroha had woken up and her sister had already cooked breakfast this time and no violence had been brought to their table today because of that.

Yuki was once again brought to heaven with another warm meal. While Moroha ate quickly, urging him to do so as well instead of taking his time like he had been.

"If we don't hurry up, an unwelcome visitor might appear." Was all that she had said and her siblings had all looked as if they knew exactly what she was talking about. Begrudgingly Yuki listened to her and ate faster so that they could leave sooner.

After the meal they each quickly grabbed their weapons, her grabbing her sword and bow along with her arrows and him retrieving his twin sowers from the place he had put them next to the fireplace the night before. They had been home free until the two of them walked out of the door and unfortunately bumped right into Shinji who had just witnessed Yuki leaving Moroha's house.

"Who… Who is this?" He asked surprised but quickly lost his shock as he started scowling at Yuki as he stood beside Moroha.

Moroha sighed heavily as she rolled her eyes.

"Yuki, this is Shinji." She said looking from Yuki to Shinji. Yuki only looked from him to her momentarily.

Had this been the unwelcome visitor that she was talking about? He wondered but then he remembered what Haru had told them last night about the person who had stood up for him and he remembered Shinji.

"The one that Haru was talking about right. You're a good man." Yuki said.

"Yes I am." Shinji stated. "A great man, my family holds a lot of power in this village." He said, trying to intimidate Yuki but Moroha started speaking immediately, bringing him back to reality.

"Thanks for yesterday." Moroha said, swallowing her pride and giving him a genuine thanks. "Haru told me what you did for him. I appreciate it. Thank you."

"Haru will be my brother one day so of course, I would defend him with all of my heart, my love." He smiled after saying that last part hoping that the other guy would get the hint.

No matter what happened last night between him and Moroha, which Shinji was sure had to be nothing, Moroha would never take a liking to some stranger that knew nothing about her. He would have a talk with her about this next time they were alone. Shinji just needed this guy to know that she was his.

Yuki looked at him wide eyed. As Moroha sighed heavily yet again. He had not been expecting that at all. The man in front of him was not bad looking by any stretch with his mid length dark hair that he had pulled back and Shinji looked like he was well off from the clothes that he wore but he just seemed so dull. Was Moroha truly with him?

"Are you two engaged?" Yuki asked, unable to hide the skepticism in his voice.

Moroha and Shinji quickly answered at the same time.

"No."

"Yes!"

"We will be." Shinji said and Moroha sighed long and heavy.

"Sorry Yuki, I was trying to avoid this." She said, looking at him hoping he'd understand. "Shinji and I are not engaged. He's Just been really persistent despite my constant objection."

"It's okay, I was just shocked he doesn't seem like he'd compliment you well. But Moroha." He smiled as he leaned close to her and Shinji looked like he was about to explode, which didn't go unnoticed by Yuki and he kept his voice loud enough for Shinji to hear as he spoke next to her ear.

"If you might be engaged don't you think that you ought to think twice before undressing strangers in the words alone like we were." He teased and Moroha's face got redder than her cloak which was the first time either of them had seen her react in such a way and be embarrassed about anything.

"Hey! Do- Don't bring that up!" She flushed even more if that was even possible. "Not everyone will understand." She scolded him.

"If I don't bring it up I won't get to see you get all flushed and flustered." He teased. "What happened to all that confidence that you had as you were pushing my Kimino off of my shoulders."

"Say that again and I'll hit you, I mean it." She threatened though her face was still red at the mention of her actions out of context like that.

All of the color had left Shinji's face at Yukis words and smug expressions as well as Moroha's nondenial of the situation.

"You two did what!" Shinji asked, interrupting the two and taking the two out of their own world.

"Shinji we di—" Moroha started but Yuki cut her off.

"It just happened but can you blame me? I don't think that anyone could resist the touch of a maiden that looks as if she flew down from the moon itself and just to heal my wounds." He teased slipping in more of the truth this time as he exaggerated what happened. Shinji had already been set off long before Yuki finished talking, this only salted his wounds more.

"I challenge you to a duel! I can not live in a world where such a man dares to think that he can take advantage of my fiancé and brag to my face about it. I will kill you for such despicable actions!" Shinji yelled.

"If you want to die so bad, I'll grant your request but you don't even have a weapon so maybe you should reconsider." Yuki stated

"Nonsense, I—"

Moroha cut in before Shinji could finish. "You two are not going to duel." She said simply and swiftly grabbed Yuki's hand so that they could hastily leave Shinji behind.

"We will see you later Shinji." She said.

"Wait, we're not done here!" Shinji yelled following the two.

"Kilala." Moroha called and the cat ran right to her. She had thought that she saw those little tales out of the corner of her eye, Hisui must be around somewhere too bad for him she was taking his ride home.

She asked Kilala to transform which startled Shinji from the unexpected action of the cat grown more than two times its normal size and causing Shinji to fall back as Moroha quickly hopped onto Kilala's back before urging Yuki to do so as well. Yuki did so after a quick moment of hesitation he hopped onto the back of the large cat and wrapped his arms around Moroha's waist as she told him to and then they were in the air above the village.

To say that he wasn't nervous flying for the first time would be a complete lie, but he tried to conceal how he felt as they flew higher and she didn't even bat an eye at being so high up.

"Don't be so nervous if you fell, Kilala would catch you before you'd hit the ground. You'd be fine."

"I'm not nervous." He lied but he hadn't let up on his grip around her waist once since they'd been this high up so she smirked in response to his lie.

He was still too tough for his own good.

"You better not tell anyone else that I was undressing you in the woods without context!" She scolded him.

"Come on, that guy deserved to have a melt down. I'm surprised that you haven't killed him yet yourself, with the way that he was annoying you. Just looking at him I would never imagine that he would be someone that you'd find happiness with."

"Believe me he's pushing me to the edge with my patience. I'm definitely not with him."

"As I'm aware." Yuki said and they were both quiet for a moment as they continued to fly towards the slayers guild.

"I mean it though. I don't mind that you said that in front of Shinji but if my cousins heard you speaking like that and misunderstood like Shinji did, I'd never hear the end of it" Moroha said as she dared to imagine the teasing she'd have to endure if Towa ever found out.

"Fine I won't speak about how we met in that way again." Yuki agreed and Moroha took him to the demon slayers guild to meet her cousins and slay demons.
