The Legacy You Leave

Chapter 18

Hours Later

"At last you're home. My lover my baby daddy." Brooke proclaimed. As she made her way towards him.

"I'm all hot and tired." Lucas said.

"I like you all hot and pre gamed for me."

"No kiss?" Brooke asked.

"Not yet. I should wash my face. Brush my teeth. You know."

"Getting all presentable." Lucas replied.

"They are riding you too hard at that office."

"You have a life outside of work. They should respect that."

"You'll write that third novel in a few months. You're editor and all those others need to lay off my man."

"Only I get to ride you and push you to you're limits." Brooke said loud enough for him to hear.

Lucas felt himself blush. "This is why we can't do video calls at work. How am i supposed to concentrate on anything after talk like this?" He asked.

"It's important to keep the passion and spark alive. Plus i like you thinking about me all day."

"I freed that dirty mind of yours. You're welcome." Brooke said. Kissing him hard.

Lucas kissed her back. Breaking up the kiss when he felt her hands go up his shirt.

"I'm not really in the mood." Lucas confessed.

"Thanks okay Luke. You rest up and we'll play in a few days." Brooke said

"We're waiting to start dinner. Me. The kids. Don't be long." Brooke replied.

"I won't be." Lucas said. Relieved when Brooke made her way towards the kitchen.

Lucas took a deep breath. The notifications on his phone had been buzzing since he left the office parking lot.

He looked at his cellphone and saw text messages from Audrey.

One message after another was a seductive photo.

The final one was her fully naked.

Lucas's phone practically fell from his hands.

The message underneath the photo read.

A preview of what's waiting for you. When you're ready to be a man and take it.

"Dad. Mom wants to know what is taking so long?" Oscar asked.

...

I know that kiss meant something to see you too. Don't deny it.

"You love her but you aren't in love with her. You're bored.

You want and crave passion. Travel. excitement. Freedom.

I can give you that and more just trust me. I love you Lucas.

Audrey sent that final text to Lucas. And clutched her cellphone tightly. As she waited for his response while pacing in her bedroom.

Don't contact me again. I'm married to a woman i'm in love with. I'm a father. There is no future here.

Lucas had replied.

The life you were supposed to have ended when she got pregnant. You married her because you didn't want to become Dan.

But when do you get to live for yourself Luke?
