In what appeared to be a courthouse, Geckles were in the stands while looking at the stand were a Geckle with a sash over his left shoulder was facing them, and a Geckle, which was the same one that attacked Cole, was walking across the room, handing out purple slugs on trays to some Geckles. "Proposition 8.8.1-stroke-7A, forbidding the riding of giant snails on Tuesdays, has passed." The Geckle on the stand bangs a gavel and the Geckles cheer. Soon, Kai, Zane, Gewuji and Blake were brought in by their Geckle handlers with their arms forced behind their backs. "Ginkle, Garpo, Groko, Gaerwulf? Aren't you supposed to be out milking moss?"
"Yes, sir, we were, when we found these suspected skeletons in the eastern caves." Ginkle replied before they push them forward while letting them go. The four Ninja were standing on some sort of trapdoor. "They were lurking."
"Lurking? That does sound bad." The Geckles in the stands start to mutter amongst themselves. The Geckle that attacked Cole come up next to the chancellor. "What do the accused have to say?"
"Okay, first, 'Chancellor', we're Ninja, not skeletons." Gewuji said, standing forward and air quoted a little. "I'm Gewuji." She then turned to the boys to point them out. "This is Blake, Kai, and Zane." The Geckles start to mutter amongst themselves about their names.
"What's a Kai?" One of the Geckles asked.
"Gewuji sounds weird." Another Geckle said.
"Can you prove it?" The chancellor asked.
"Just look at us!" Kai asked, stepping forward. "See any bones? No! Because we're not skeletons!"
Gaerwulf comes up to Blake. "This one's arm seems removable." He said before pulling on his prosthetic, causing him to yelp in pain.
"Hey, that hurts!" He yelled, forcing him back. "It may be false, but I can still feel pain."
"And those black skeletons don't talk, right?" Kai asked.
"Hear our voices?" Gewuji asked.
"Hmm, a strong argument on both sides." The chancellor replied.
"Both sides?"
"There's only one way to settle this." He stands up and looks down at them. A Trial by Mino!" The Geckle cheer in agreement before throwing pebbles at him. "Who's your chancellor?" The Geckles keep cheering.
"Mino?" Kai asked. "Like those animals we saw in the-" Pretty soon, the trapdoor below them opens up, and he, Zane, Gewuji and Blake were sent falling down it with screams.
The trap door had led to a pit, where Kai, Zane, Gewuji and Blake land on the ground. "What's the deal?!" Gewuji asked as she looked up at the chancellor, who came over to the trap door. "You said we were gonna get a trial!"
"Yes, a Trial by Mino." He replied as he, Ginkle, Garpo, Groko, Gaerwulf and a few Geckles look down it. "If the Mino crushes you quickly, you are guilty. If it crushes you slowly, you're innocent."
"What?!" Kai asked, shocked.
"Good luck!"
"Are those our only options?" Zane asked as they stood up. The back of their gis were dirty from the dirt on the ground.
Pretty soon, a gate behind them opens up, and they turn to it. Pretty soon, a Mino comes out before stopping to growl. The sight of the Mino caused the four Ninja to gasp in shock before the Mino moved its front left paw along and charges at them. They quickly turn around to jump out of the way as the Mino passes by them. "Any ideas?" Kai asked.
The Mino turns back around and charges at them. "Let's see if the Mino likes ice?!" Zane holds his hands out to the Mino to fire Ice while Kai did the same with his Fire, Blake with his Wind, and Gewuji with her Glass. Only for them to immediately disperse.
"What?"
"What happened to our powers?" Blake asked.
Kai looks at the Mino as it charges at them before they prepare to do Spinjitzu. "Ninja-" Unfortunately, the Mino headbutts them all, sending them flying back while still in their Spinjitzu tornadoes before they land, dispersing them.
"Anybody get the license plate on that Mino?" Gewuji asked.
The Mino soon charges at them as they get up before Blake cartwheels to the left, making the Mino hit the wall. "Ooh, that's gotta hurt." He said.
The Mino turns back to him. "I think you made her mad!" Kai replied as it the Mino charged at them, ramming them and sending them flying to a wall before it turns towards Zane and charges at him.
Zane backflips and somersaults over it, looking at its armour as he does so. He lands next to Kai and Blake as they get up while Gewuji had thrown some dirt at the Mino to briefly blind it before it charges at her as she started to run. "Her armour is made of Vengestone." He said.
"So that's why our powers are dampened." Blake replied.
"Oh, great." Gewuji said with sarcasm as she ran along the pit to get away from the Mino. "This just gets better and bet-" She comes across the wall before quickly jumping to the side as the Mino rams into it.
"Huh, they've survived longer than most." The chancellor said as he and the Geckles look down from above. "This is wonderful news." He looks down the pit. "I hereby declare you not skeletons!"
Gewuji keeps running from the Mino as it came after her again. "Great! Now get us the hell out of here!" The Mino tries to bite her, but she quickly jumps to the side.
The chancellor gasped upon hearing her demand. "That's not now it works. Do not make a mockery of Geckle civil court!"
"You purple bastard!" Kai yelled as the Mino came at him, Zane and Blake before they jump in different spots to avoid it.
The Mino soon turned to Zane as he gets up before it started to move its front left paw along. He starts to look up some strategies before gasping after finding one and smirks. "Hmm." He mumbled before running towards the Mino, who charges at him. The Geckles were in complete shock to see him charge at it. Zane immediately jumped and grabs hold of the Mino by its horn, spinning along it before landing on its back, noticing a couple of rivets on the armour, grabs hold of them and tries to pull on them. "Now, just one more moment!" They soon came loose and come off before Zane jumps off the Mino and lands with a roll. The Mino briefly growled before turning to face them as Kai and Blake were a little frightened, Zane simply looked at it and Gewuji poised. The Mino snorts a little before parts of the armour started to fall off and land on the ground, and the Mino soon shook off the main part of the armour. All the Geckles look on in complete surprise as the Mino looked at them before it turns onto its back and starts to move about to scratch, excited. It soon licked Zane out of appreciation. "From my analysis, Mino's are not naturally aggressive animals."
The Mino soon licked Blake. "Then I guess her armour was angering her." He said.
The Mino rolled to get back up and licks Kai, causing him to cough before removing most of the Mino saliva off his face. "So, we're friends now." He said.
"As Master Wu always said." Gewuji replied before the Mino licks her too. "'The best way to defeat your enemy, is to make them your friend.'" She soon spat out some of the Mino saliva that somehow got in her mouth.
"And friends help friends." Kai comes up to the Mino to pet it.
Gewuji looks up at the chancellor. "It also translates into not skeletons help not skeletons, Chancellor Gulch!" The Geckles look at each other in concern.
(A/N: I wonder if anyone thought of that quote when Kai and Zane managed to calm the Mino down in the show)
