Part 3 finally!
Sam was unable to sleep, his heart sank as he sat on corner of the bed. He still hadn't got dressed yet, his uniform hung up on the door.
( Now she'll never be with me)
He didn't want to go work as it was him, Penny and Arnold today . However knowing that Pontypandy would need him, he eventually plucked up the courage to go in.
He arrived at work and saw Penny washing Jupiter every so often he saw her glance lovingly at Arnold who was washing Venus she looked away every time he looked at her to ask her something , Sam couldn't take it anymore. He approached Arnold.
" Could I ask a favour"? Sam asked.
" Sure, what's up"? Arnold replied.
( What do I say)
" My lower back hurts a bit, can you help me out, I have to put my uniform on anyway"
" Oh, ok" Arnold replied he put the sponge down and he followed Sam to the male changing room.
Once there Sam closed the door.
" I can't take this anymore, there's nothing wrong with my back, I saw the way Penny was looking at you. And I want her happy and if means being with you then so be it" Sam ranted.
" Are you sure"? Arnold enquired " Maybe Penny's happy being single"
Sam sat on the bench with his face in his hands " No, and we both know that's untrue"
" I don't want to step on your toes " Arnold replied.
" Just asked her out, already"! Sam shouted " My chance is over"!
"Alright, you don't have to yell at me" Arnold retorted.
Sam apologised for his sudden and unnecessary outburst which Arnold excepted.Arnold sighed as he left, Sam waited a few seconds and followed he hid behind jupiter as Arnold approached Penny.
" So what was wrong with Sam's back" she asked.
"Hmm? Oh Just needed cracking, so I was wondering..."He hesited.
" Yes"? She asked. Her brown eyes met his, he shyly looked away.
He Paused, Asking Penny out when he knew how Sam felt about her seemed wrong.
" I was wondering if you had any plans for tomorrow night"? He asked.
" No" She responded " Why"? A small exited twinkle fluttered in her stomach.
" Well neither do I, so how about we eat out" Arnold asked.
" Are you asking me on a date"? Penny asked. Excitement filed her ( Oh my god, it's actually happening)
" Well we could all go" he replied. " Like team building"
"Oh right yeah that makes sense " Penny replied . ( Damn it)
" What if tomorrow night it's just us and next Friday we could all go"? Arnold recommend
This response made Penny light up inside but she kept cool outside .
" I'd love to six o'clock at The Royal birch"? Penny asked happily " You invite Elvis and Steele, I'll invite Ellie and Sam for next week at six"
"Sure, see you then" He responded " Anyway better get back to work before we get told off"
Arnold walked away, Sam heard Penny whisper yes. Sam just leaned against jupiter and quietly cried. He quickly wiped his tears and regained his composer and walked round the corner.
" Ooh, Sam next week do you fancy coming to a team dinner"? She asked.
" What day and time "? He asked, even though he had no intention to attend.
" Friday at six" She replied.
" I'm actually working that day" Sam lied " Maybe next time"
" Ok, no worries" she replied.
Penny saw Ellie and she ran up to her and pulled her into the changing room.
" Ok you tornado, what's up"? She asked.
Penny just replied by squealing happily.
" I don't speak dog toy, Just tell me with words" Ellie insisted
" Woo, ok. Arnold just asked me on a date"!she exclaimed.
" Really"? Ellie asked.
" Yep, before I forget, next Friday at six team dinner, what say you"
" I think I'm working that day " Ellie replied.
" Alrighty, maybe we could order something when we're all here" Penny suggested.
" Sounds fun" Ellie respond. " Best get back to work, but first, where are you going"?
" The Royal birch" Penny replied.
" I hear it's nice" Ellie remarked.
They left the changing room Penny saw Arnold continuing his job of washing Venus, she approached him.
" Did you ask them" She enquired
" I did, but both of them are busy. Steele is going to be with his wife and Elvis is working, what about you"?
" Both working, I had a thought. What if when we're all here order take-out"
" That's not a bad idea, I like it" Arnold replied.
They agreed Penny went to find Steele and Elvis while Arnold went to find Sam and Ellie, Penny asked what day they all were in Steele told her Thursday, he also agreed it was a good idea, she asked Elvis who also agreed.
Arnold asked Sam and Ellie if they were interested in Penny's idea, Ellie was and suggested Ice cream for pudding. Sam was less enthusiastic but ultimately agreed. The two asked everyone what they should get eventually agreeing on Chinese. Since they were all here Steele suggested they ordered now everyone agreed. They got to the kitchen, to desided on who would get it they drew straws . Elvis drew the smallest straw so he would have to pick it up.
Once the food arrived everyone sat down to dig in, Steele had sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice and chips, Elvis had hoisin duck with king prawn rice and vegetable spring rolls, Sam had lemon chicken with special fried rice with chips, Ellie had the same as Steele but with spare ribs instead of chips, Penny had beef chow mien and spare ribs and roast pork with fried rice and Arnold had king prawn chop suey and egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken.
" We should do this more often" Ellie mumbled with a mouth full of food
The others nodded in agreement.
" It doesn't necessarily need to be Chinese every time" Elvis replied " We could have Indian another night or Italian"
The others thought it was a great idea.
" There's a Mexican takeaway that opened resently down the road" Arnold suggested.
" Ooh, tacos"! Steele exclamed he then licked his lips at the idea
" I hear they make great Quesadillas" Ellie replied.
"I think we can all agree on Mexican next time" Ellie suggested " What about you Sam? You've been awfully quiet.
The whole time Sam had just been stuffing his face with Chinese, he gave a thumbs up up to the idea. They managed to eat all of the food and eat the Pineapple fritters before the bell rang, Steele shot up and ran to the control room.
" There's a fire at the floods"! He boomed over the tannoy.
"Really"?Ellie asked in annoyance
Sam, Penny and Arnold got ready and set off to the Floods house, while Elvis and Ellie stayed to clean up.
