Ambush Part 2
-Mistral-
Blake and Sun looked at Neptune's house again to see if he is back. But still, nobody is inside. "I guess he isn't home after all." Sun said, worrying about his friend. "This is all my fault. I am supposed to be the leader. But instead I left them to their own devices and screw it up. I think the others are better off with anyone better. Maybe Sage would've been the leader, wise but not too talkative since the first year. Scarlet, he's bossy, but at least he is more focused on the battlefield. Neptune, he's smart, but a little cowardly." Sun list his teammates as potential leaders if he isn't one.
Blake pats him on the back. "Sun, if there is any reason you were chosen as the leader. Maybe find it yourself. You made a mistake once, but you can just learn from it."
"I guess. I don't know why, but Professor Lionheart thinks I had to be leader. But he didn't give me any reason. I guess I don't know my bros very well." Sun laments, thinking about the times he joked around in the wrong time.
"Nobody asked you to be perfect. You're you cause you wanted to make people smile. But sometimes you got to know when to be the leader they need you to be. Besides, we both left. I guess I wasn't any better either. What am I saying?" Blake sighs, lamenting hearing herself say it, then remembers the times in the Fall of Beacon. Her time with the White Fang. And her time in Beacon with friends.
Sun had thought about what Blake said. He can remember the times he messed up in Haven. He did not realized at first that he needed to be in a team of four, until he and Neptune were teamed up with Scarlet and Sage after the orientations. Taking this as a bright side to make new friends.
Sun still wonders for the reason Lionheart chose him as the leader for Team SSSN. Any if his teammates, even Neptune, would have been the leader. He only jokes around to lighten the mood. Only to be met with dismay and annoyance. Expect Neptune, who did his best to support Sun as the leader.
Sage doesn't mind considering Sun does have heart of gold. But thinks he just needs more focus on the matter at hand. Scarlet never takes it well, since he has a temper and takes things too seriously in the field of battle.
"So then, how do you feel when Ruby became Leader?" Asked Sun, wondering how Ruby manages since the first school semester. Wanting to see how she can be appreciated.
"Ruby doesn't have things easy either. For starters, she's two years younger than us. Just filled with joy and upbeat personality. Somewhat like you." Blake replies. "But I was unsure, but given time, she is learning a lot of things. Even her mistakes. Things didn't get to a good start at first, the way I see it, it's a struggle."
"And I thought I was a mess." Sun sighs. "I mean, Ruby? I can't imagine what she is going through right now after all of this."
"After the first semester, Ruby grew little by little. Anything can start small. All she needs is faith in herself and others. You need to put faith in yourself too. I can tell that you cared for others too. Remember that." Blake said.
Sun blinked as he looked to the floor, thinking about what Blake said. The next time he sees his teammates, he is sure that he will be met with dismay and scowl. But in the end, he has to learn from his mistakes. Cause even a leader has flaws.
"A girl like you giving me a lecture." Sun chuckled. "First time. Now you giving me reason.
"Hey, you're the one who came to get me to get up!" Blake lightly punches Sun's arm. The two laughed.
Looking back, he could've considered going with Ruby and the others to find the traitors, but in the end, Blake is here. Giving what advice he needed to fight for those he cared about.
Then Blake rapidly spins and glared at the vegatation spot where she sees eyes peering in the other direction. She may not be able to see, but Blake can tell there is somebody near the trees.
Sun sees Blake looking at another direction. And noticed something is up. She can tell an enemy is near. "What is it?" Asked Sun.
"A threat." Blake takes out her sword and sped off. Sun follows to see what is going on.
-Black Viper Hideout-
Jupiter is in the hallway, inside a bunker where the Black Viper had meetings, as two female Viper members stood near him on each side messaging his shoulders. But it stopped when Jupiter saw someone coming. Banners of the symbolic serpents were hanging on the walls on each side. Tyler just returned from his fight against Blake and Sun.
"What now? I'm busy at the moment." Jupiter sighs. The Viper before him showed him a photo of Sun and Blake in Mistral. Jupiter told the two female Vipers to leave with a hand gesture. And they did so and left. But not before they gave Jupiter a double kiss on both cheeks, much to his delight. Then Jupiter examines the photo.
"Sun Wukong. Another enemy to add to the list." Jupiter sighs. Giving the scroll back to Tyler. "Guess he wasn't as dumb as I thought. First Winter Schnee and now him."
"Guess we can agree with the fact that the kid is nothing but a nuisance." Tyler agrees. "All we know was that he was from Vacuo, and had interfere with the the plans of the White Fang according to Roman Torchwick."
"Wasn't he dead? Never mind. One thing is for sure, Wukong was becoming more dangerous for the more he's around." Jupiter folded his arms. "Someone to hate other than the Schnees?" While Jupiter has animosity towards Sun aside from Winter. He never thought of Sun as a threat due to his humorous personality. But seeing the evidence that Sun is against both the White Fang and the Black Vipers, which makes him an obstacle to his ambitions. Given his past actions against both groups, it was clear to Jupiter that Sun is just as a dangerous enemy as Winter Schnee.
"For all we know, he had been interfering with our plans. At this rate, we will lose followers. Adam was right, he's the bad luck to our cause."
"He has allied with Blake Belladonna to keep watch on the White Fang's next move." Tyler said.
"Maybe that should keep him distracted for now." Jupiter replied.
"You kidding me? What if he messes up our cause?" Tyler protested.
"Think of it this way, the more Wukong loses sight on his friends, the more my brother would see how much of a bad influence he is to leave the side of his team, all for his personal reasons. Then it will break trusts between friends. Who knows? Maybe those kids will want to join us." Jupiter replied. Thinking of the ways to destroy both Sun and Winter.
"I doubt it. I saw what those kids did back in Shinegure. And they made it clear that they won't side with us." Tyler and Jupiter's conversation was interrupted when two more Viper members showed up and kneeled.
"What is it?" Jupiter asked. Then his comrades looked at him with fear. "Have you found her yet?" He tasked his men to search for the Spring Maiden, who held the key to the Spring Relic of Knowledge.
"N-no, Boss. We searched around the ruins of Oniyuri. We only saw kids wandering around." One of them replied.
"Well, keep searching! Sakuyuri, Kuroyuri, I don't care!" Jupiter shouted at them. And seeing the glare in his eyes would mean they will not hear the end of it the next time they are left empty-handed. They said nothing and left hastily. Another female member approached Jupiter and gave him a cigar, and a lighter. In response, Jupiter held her waist and pulled her close. Causing her to giggle and blush.
"That reminds me. Tyler, you are now promoted to second-in-command. Since we have been comrades for years. You have become a trusted friend and brother in arms more than ever. For that, I entrusted you to lead should anything happen to me." Jupiter stated as the young woman next to him message his shoulders. Tyler is honored to take the position.
"You serious?" Asked Tyler, as if he found it unbelievable.
"My grandfather founded the Black Vipers during the Atlesian Rebellion. Since then, his remnants had been working in the shadows to plan out an uprising for years. And the time has almost come. With the White Fang on our side. We might have the advantage. Even after Uranus' death, his name still lives on. And as his heir, I will make my name known and feared. The unwritten rule of my tribe that my father had forsaken long ago is to show no fear."
"Except I heard your sister is the new heir now." Tyler sheepishly reminded him. But Jupiter snapped his fingers and multiple lightbulbs to shatter and sparks spreading. Causing Tyler to jolt. "It doesn't matter. I am setting my priorities straight. First we take out Atlas. Then we finish off its armies. Finally, I will finish off Winter Schnee." Jupiter said.
-Island of Patch-
Yang, Kim, and Taiyang are having coffee after taking a lot of time in calming down. The living room is filled with silence. Neither of them broke it as they take the time to feel free to speak to one another.
Taiyang looked at his daughter and mother left and right. Then looks back at his mug as he takes another sip. Yang doesn't care about her arm anymore, but rather feel how useless she might be without the part of her that was gone.
Kim saw how her family wasn't breaking the silence. It annoyed her how her son was holding back. But decided to wait until he spoke first. Knowing she cannot interfere any further.
The clock on the counter was ticking. Minutes passing. Until Taiyang breaks the silence. "Okay, this is awkward. But I think I will have to break the silence around here." Taiyang then turned to his eldest daughter, whose eyes were burning with questions and pleadings for an answer.
"Yang, your mother, Raven, and I have twins. And you were one of them." Taiyang confessed. Showing Yang the photo of two baby girls, one with blonde hair (Yang), and the other with raven hair (Yin). "Your twin sister, her name is Yin."
"I heard. But why kept this from me?" Yang asked, curious about her missing twin sister. Taiyang felt numb, for his failure to remember his second daughter. But now thay his memories are back. "I didn't remember it back then. It was recently when I found it. It came back to me when your mother and I gazed at you and Yin. It brought me joy to have you both. Until your mother slipped something in a glass of water. I didn't think much of it until, Raven and Yin were gone. And you were left on a crib. And because of this, I thought you were my only daughter before Ruby. But turns out I have another daughter. It was my fault, I should've known Raven would take Yin with her. I wish I knew why."
Yang can see her father's eyes glistening in sorrow. It took 19 years to recover that memory about her unknown twin. "I wasn't the father you needed back then when you took care of Ruby. I should've let you become a kid when I had the chance to bring you and Ruby up better. It was too late, but I am sorry. Saying this won't bring Raven, or Summer back. But I should've done better than to look away."
Yang can see that her father is really apologetic. Taiyang stopped speaking when he sniffled. And gasping as he was going to break down. "I wish I could've known where Yin was at too. So that she wouldn't have to go through whatever is happening to her. You and your sisters deserve better than this. I thought I was a failure when I could've stopped Summer from going on that mission. I should've known."
Yang wished things would've been different. She even blamed herself for not pushing her father to at least see her and Ruby more. But now it is too late. But it won't mean it will be too late to make things right for Ruby. The next time she sees her little sister, she will stay by her side. But when she meets Yin, she hopes to let her know she is not alone.
Yang got up and just ran her one hand on her father's back to comfort him. Kim also came to her son and granddaughter's side and placed a blanket on Taiyang's shoulders. "I wish things were different too, Dad."
Taiyang looked at his daughter with regret and guilt. He wished he could've stopped Ruby from suffering the same fate. But he only let her leave to respect her choices. He wished he could've hugged her goodbye before she left. He wished he could've saved Summer when he had the chance. He wished he could've find Yin to not let her be molded by Raven into someone she is not. How he wished Ruby would've meet Yin, to have two of her big sisters in her life.
"Taiyang, it may be too late now. But what matters now is that we must keep it together. Right now, your friends and family need you more. It's time we face reality." Kim said to her son. Yang nods to her grandmother in agreement.
Taiyang wiped his tears off his eyes. The last thing he wanted was to be alone for the rest of his life. And for his daughters to hate him more. But he is still happy they are there for him regardless. But now they are old enough to make choices for themselves. For now, he must help Yang train for her to regain confidence again. And see what he will do next afterwards. Perhaps he can talk to his old friends again if they are able too. Somewhere outside the house, Yin was watching. She wasn't sure why she is hesitating, but seeing her father confessed his conflicts, and Yang embrackng ber family, something deep down told her to not do it. But she wasn't giving in. Yin would not listen to her heart, just her mind.
-Anima-
Weiss and Neptune were still tracking down Winter as they walked endlessly in the forest. This worried the two when the sky turns dark. Fireflies were flickering light as they walked down the trail.
As beautiful as the scenary is, they cannot be distracted as if now. "Of all the trails, Winter can be anywhere." Neptune stated.
"If I were Winter. Where would I be?" Weiss asked, as she tried to come up with a few clues to find out where her sister could be doing since she is a soldier. But it was interrupted when Neptune pushed Weiss out of the way. "Watch out!" He shouted.
An arrow flew between them and missed. And it stuck to a tree. Weiss and Neptune are beyond shocked. The two look at each other trying to process what is happening. But it was not the time to think for the event.
Neptune wasted no time to grab Weiss' hand and escape from incoming arrows flying towards them. "It's a trap! Run!" Weiss did not hesitate and ran with him as they have to get away from the enemy party.
"It looks like somebody is waiting for us!" Weiss shouted while holding onto Neptune's hand tightly, as neither of them are letting go. "We need to take cover before–!" The two then stopped near a cliff where the White Fang and Black Vipers were waiting for them. Among them was Ilia Amitola.
"Finally." Ilia took off her mask in enlightment that her victory is in her hands now. "Two birds in one stone." Then she takes out her rapier that also resembles a fishing pole.
Meanwhile...
Winter is still on the move, chasing a cargo vehicle for a pile of dusts, along with her team, mustering the speed of her hoverbike as the driver speeds up more.
The driver looked through the side mirror of the front seat and sees Winter's faction heading his way. Then he orders his fellow White Fang member to fire at their pursuers.
"Fire at will!" The driver shouted. And the man next to him takes out a pistol and peers his head out the window and fire his gun at Winter. Mostly because she is leading them.
But by looking at Winter and her recognizable traits, the faunus inside the cargo looked at Winter in disgust. "Flithy Schnee!" He shouted by firing his fire dust bullets. "Look out!" Winter told her men, they immediately shifted their bikes out of the way and avoid rapid fire. Then more rogues opened the cloth from the back of the cargo truck and aim their firearms at the soldiers.
"Avoid fire at all cost! Stop the vehicle!" Winter ordered, the other two soldiers nodded to their commander. "Yes, sir!" They said to Winter.
Then the sheet from the back was unveiled from the cargo truck. And it revealed a few more men inside armed with weapons. "Oh, great! I thought this will be easy!" One of the soldiers facepalmed. "Stay focused!" Winter reminded him.
She takes out her swords to deflect incoming bullets as the chase continues. One of them tried to throw bombs at Winter's team, only for one of the soldiers to use holographic shields and used it to knock away the bombs.
Then comes cannon fire as they used the cannonballs to aim at them. Lifray, who is flying in the air to check for any sneak attacks saw some sniper units waiting for Winter and her group to fire at them. Only for Lifray to dive down and knock down the sniper units and take away their firearms.
Then Lifray makes a small call to notify Winter of what he saw. "3 snipers spotted. It's a trap, be careful. I'll keep a lookout for more." He said to Winter and broke contact to continue his task.
Winter took note of this and keep in mind of what Lifray just told her. Now knowing it was a trap, she has to capture some members of the White Fang and Black Vipers to see what they are up to. Then one of the Black Viper members make a shot on Winter's bike and placed an electrical device that causes the circuits of the cycle to break.
Causing Winter's bike to swirl around uncontrollably. Until Deshiro managed to reach out for Winter as he held out his hand. Winter grabs it and gets on his motorcycle with him. And Winter's bike exploded as it landed on another trail.
Winter then turned to Deshiro, her teammate and friend. "Thank you, Kaze." Referring to him by his last name. "Part of my job, Commander." He said respectfully to his leader. Then the focus was back to the vehicle. Winter steadily stood up from behind to formulate a new strategy.
"Get me closer to this vehicle to stop this!" Winter commanded. Deshiro knows what to do and nods to her. "Alright. Hold on!" He speeds up his bike to catch up with the cargo vehicle. As they drew closer to the vehicle, and avoiding enemy fire, Winter stood still as they have to turn to another trail. Winter uses her glyphs to jump inside the vehicle. In response, the White Fang and the Black Vipers began the attack. "Get her!" They raised their weapons, swords, and spears at her.
Winter puts away her sword and uses hand-to-hand combat after years of training in Atlas Academy on how to rely on her mind, not her weapons. They are parrying their weapons as she uses her defenses against them. Then, she knocks out the driver and takes the wheel. Winter then makes a drift turn and stops it to prevent it from crashing.
Winter gets off the vehicle and ordered her men to tie up the enemy party. Lifray then rejoins them. "The area is clear for now." Lifray saluted to Winter. "Very good, soldier. We might as well have to retrieve the dusts inside the vehicle for whatever is this they are doing."
Lifray then sees the White Fang Members in mask, and it terrified him. He can never imagine wearing one, being a faunus himself. Winter felt bad for her comrade because he felt haunted by seeing the mask the White Fang wears. And it was because all the trouble was caused by both the White Fang and the aristocrats from Atlas. Winter wanted all her comrades to be equals in any way. This made her feel responsible for the well-being of her conrades. She placed a hand on her fellow soldier. "Lifray, I–"
"Please, Commander. Don't apologize for your father's wrongdoings, nor of my people's. Being in Atlas Academy, it helps me see a difference, and have faith in my comrades. I see the fact that I can still find a future, and for my family too. Not the way the White Fang would. For that, I trust you, because you're one of us, a soldier." Lifray assures her. Even words cannot help Winter forgive herself for what has happened to the people her father wronged. But it doesn't mean she will give up to make a difference for the world, to help people. "You sure you're okay?" Winter asked. Lifray nodded. Winter was surprised that Lifray called her a soldier, and not a Schnee. This made Winter feel a little better that she was acknowledged better of being a member of the military. But questions herself about her position.
"Commander, I think there is something I must inform you. I overheard their commlinks from one of sniper units and found out their plan." Lifray continued. Winter kept her focus on him to hear what he found out.
Weiss and Neptune are surrounded by the small group of White Fang and Black Viper members led by Ilia. "Finally after what your family put us through, we finally have a chance for payback for everything you have taken away from us!"
Neptune knew they wanted to capture Weiss as revenge for her family's wrongs, but he knew there was more to the story than just ransom. And he knew he has to keep her safe. "Listen. Neither of us want to fight. But we will have to if you guys continue whatever this is you're planning." He warned as he took out his spear and got in front of Weiss.
Neptune doesn't care if he gets scared anymore, as he already gave his word that he won't fail Weiss again. And is going to make sure he stays true to it. Ilia smirked as she observed in the behavior of the two huntsmen-in-training before her. "You're a brave one. You should've stayed away when you have a chance. Too bad whatever connection Jupiter has with you, it will end badly for you. But I guess we will have to take care of you both."
Hearing that name shocks Weiss and Neptune, which confirms that Jupiter is alive and hidden. But Neptune is not surprised that his own older brother would turn against him, his own family. And would go as far as to go after Weiss for some personal vendetta.
But it didn't matter to him, as Neptune knew he cannot let his brother get away with this. "Jupiter. So he's alive after all." Neptune said. He was about to get into a stance as Weiss walked up in front of him, but not taling out her weapon. "Weiss what are you doing? Get back!" Neptune tried to get her to stand back, but Weiss stood firm as she looked at him. Raising her palm to stop him and let her speak.
But before Neptune can protest. Weiss looked at the enemy party as she remained calm. Ready to confront her past. "Listen, whatever my father has put you through. I apologize, I know it isn't enough. But what you're all doing isn't right either! If we all can just–!" Weiss was cut off as Ilia snarled hearing this.
"You don't get a say for this one, Schnee! Where was our help when my people suffered at hard labor at the hands of your family company? Where was our help when all our men had been taken down by execution in Atlas? Where was my help when my parents' lives were taken in the dust mines explosion?!" Ilia lets out her voice of fury after previous events happened. Weiss figured her father might have something to do with the mining explosion that took the lives of faunus workers that were employed by him.
"It doesn't matter. While we, the White Fang, do not trust the Black Vipers. At least we all have one thing in common. That Atlas will be going down, along those with Schnee blood. Too bad your sister won't be here to protect you now, won't she? And together, we will take out the kingdom by any means." Ilia said as she watched the two stepping back. And it fills her with glee to see the ex-heiress shocked with regret and shaken.
Weiss was silent for a moment when she heard the last part. How Ilia's parents were gone because of the dust explosions that had taken their lives. Guilt ran through her spine. Knowing how much a loss of a loved one can affect anyone. "I...I...I didn't know..." Before she can say anything else, Neptune speaks out to defend her. "Weiss didn't do anything to you! Would any of you at least listen to reason?! If anything, Jupiter is using all of you! Think about this, what if the students in Beacon were your family members that got hurt or killed because of your doing? Jupiter wouldn't care as long as he gets what he wants, and so will your boss!" Neptune said.
"You just don't shut up, do you?" Ilia growled.
Knowing they won't listen to reason, Weiss had to think quickly. "Neptune, we need to split up." Weiss whispered. It is clear to them that the group in front of them are ready to attack, and they are not letting go of their grudges.
"Weiss, are you sure?" Neptune doesn't want to leave Weiss in harm's way. But she knew neither is safe if they both stay there. Weiss knew Neptune has to trust her, just as she trusts him. "Neptune, you need to trust me. It will be faster for the both of us to evade."
"But..." Neptune paused as Weiss took his hand to not let fear get the better of him. "Neptune, I know. But we need to move. We are both trained to do what we have to do. Don't worry about me, we will meet in another spot when the coast is clear." Weiss told him. Neptune knew she was right. The fear of losing loved ones has stunned him, but her words snap him out of his fear.
With that, Weiss and Neptune split in separate directions to evade the White Fang and the Black Vipers.
Ilia turned back to her team. "We're only here for the heiress. Keep the blue-haired guy distracted." Only half her team nodded and went to the direction where Neptune ran off to. Ilia focused on settling the score against the Schnee Family for her parents' deaths. Even if some of the family members had nothing to do with it. Ilia won't stop at nothing to make them feel the pain she feels for loss. "Running away. Huh?" She chuckled as she puts her mask back on. "Soon your family will feel what it means to lose." She muttered.
Weiss hid behind a tree as she was leading away some of the Black Viper/White Fang members, at least 5 of them were chasing after her.
"We know where you are, Schnee! You can't hide forever!" One of them is a White Fang member with coyote ears. Sniffing from afar. Two of them are Black Viper members.
Weiss takes deep breaths. She knew this was the fight she could not escape from. Clenching onto her Myrtenaster tightly. She is only focused on evading and using defenses to lessen the risk on Neptune, Winter and her friends. And for Blake's sake, she will only defeat them without bringing harm to them. Cause they were her former comrades before enrolling into Beacon. Some might be former friends too.
Weiss then comes out to ready for battle. "You have to stop this right now. You don't have to do this, don't you see?! There are other ways to bring peace! But the way we kept fighting, it's gonna hurt all of us!" Weiss tried to reason with them. If her grandfather were to see what had happened and to find out what Jacques had done to make the faunus despise their family, he would have been heartbroken and furious at him.
"Your words aren't gonna save your life, Schnee. And you have a debt to repay in full!" Said one of the White Fang members.
"Matter of fact. While we want you dead, the Black Vipers have other plans for you! You and your sister!"
"What?" Weiss gasped quietly. Now they are also after her sister. "But my sister hasn't..."
"Get her!" One of them used an electric whip with a blade tied to it. But Weiss dodged it with her glyph and cuts the whip.
Then one of the White Fang members used an earth-based semblance to pull Weiss to the ground. She was caught, but then she used her summoning of an Ursa Grimm to break from the ground and dissipates the projectile.
Then daggers were thrown as Weiss used her glyphs to glide midair and avoid them. Then slashed a wave of fire dust to take out more daggers.
Neptune slides down from the steep hill, and his boots got muddy from getting drenched there.
Neptune lands to the lower level of the trail. He hopes Weiss would be okay. And because of the circumstances, they had no choice but to separate.
Please be okay, Weiss.
Then three more daggers were shot at him. "Ah!" Neptune ducked, and the daggers missed and hit the tree behind him instead. Usually Sun backs him up in the battle, but now he is alone.
Neptune shifts his spear into a rifle to keep on guard. Then he was ambished from above. He rolls away and then turns his rifle back into his spear.
Weiss twirls and clashes with two of the Black Vipers, while the coyote faunus shoots arrows at the former heiress. But Weiss swings her rapier to block them.
One of the White Fang members swung a naginata at her. But Weiss flips back and blocks another blow as the ground cracks. Making and upper slash with a blue-like flame in her Myrtenaster.
Blowing away the spear-fighter to a tree. Then a sword-fighter, who is the same archer with the coyote ears turns his blade and makes a lower slash above Weiss. But Weiss uses her glyph to speed away. Then uses her ice glyph to trap the enemies in front of her by freezing their feet. Allowing her to get away. While the trapped Black Viper members struggled to break it.
"You won't get away this time!" The coyote faunus of the White Fang shouted, sprinting after her. Three more Black Vipers came with him to chase after her. The ambush is far from over.
As Weiss also slides down the edge of a cliff that wasn't too far down. And jumps off to land with her glyphs. Her clothes got mud spilt. But she remained focus on evading.
The coyote-earred man who is leading the three Black Viper members managed to find her below. "There she is!" They also slide down the muddy cliff to continue.
Though it was raining upon them, neither side is stopping to think of the risk in the weather. Just as Weiss runs further into the deeper woods, in the hopes they would give up and turn away. But she was wrong.
She climbs on one of the trees. Her heart beats rapidly in the thought of being alone in the fight. While she doesn't think about it, she can just remember the times she spent in Beacon, the Vytyl Festival, and then in Mistral. Everything she learned, she had taken it to heart.
Weiss sighs, as she calmed down a little. Knowing she must face what was in front of her. And to move forward. As she doesn't hear any noises, nor of shouting, Weiss climbs down, knowing they might come out any moment.
Grandfather, lend me your courage as I head on to see my friends again.
Weiss closed her eyes as she has to relief her pace of combat. Her heart beating slow as she only felt the rain around her. Weiss snapped her eyes opened and spun to block an attack from behind. It was the same faunus that led the Vipers to the chase.
"Not bad, for a Schnee." He said, glaring at her.
"I don't need my sister to defend me. I too am trained to become a huntress. All this time I only did it to rectify my family name and honor. My mistake was not seeing the truth long ago. But now I am fighting to find a new way to make things right." Weiss stated, now with a new goal to find a new path. And to build a legacy where all of Remnant can thrive in a better way. Where everyone can work together to protect the world.
"Whether you believe me or not, I will not stoop to my father's level. This war needs to end. You don't want to do this to your family." Weiss adds, in order to reach out to her opponent to stop.
"Family? Like the only big brother I had when he died in the mining explosion?!" The faunus man snarled. It was heartbreaking for Weiss to hear that more lost their loved ones and were disregarded as casualties by her father.
"I see. Like I said before, no apology can bring back what was already lost. But I can sympathize with what you meant." Weiss adds. But remained at a stance of defense if the pursuers are not gonna stop. "I vowed to face my father the next time I see him." She said.
The coyote faunus wasn't having it. Weiss' sincerity stopped him for a few seconds before his face turned to scowl again as he never wanted to believe it. "I won't listen to lies from a Schnee!" He said charging at her. Holding his sword. "Die!" He shouted.
Just as he slashed down, Weiss dodges it and backflips put of the way. And only blocking his attacks countering back with her rapier. With the other two Vipers attacked her, Weiss can identify them as former huntsmen who turned to a life of crime.
Given how highly trained they were. There was no end to this fight.
To be continued...
Author's note: I am not sure if this chapter is going well. But from the beginning, Sun is questioning himself about leadsrship. Listing some possibilities of his teammates becoming leader if not himself.
Also here we have a scene where we see Winter's side of the story of where she had been in Mistral. Also the way she leads and interacts with her comrades. After watching the Canon version of Volume 4, it makes me wonder what the scene could've been for Winter's development.
There we also have a scene where Ilia leading the White Fang and Black Vipers to confront Weiss and Neptune attempt to capture them.
